2008.07.18 07:00 - Being, Loathing, Confusion and our Relationships with Avatars

Gaya Ethaniel: I had a thought on 'Being' today. I used to think 'Jesus' is created. Maybe he's Being?
Adams Rubble: Gaya, I have been playing with that a bit and it isn't working for me so far :)
But that might very well be me. I can't make it work to help me understand.
Gaya Ethaniel: Kind of hit me but I'm afraid it won't make sense to explain in words.
Fael Illyar: If it's something you can explain in words, it's most likely wrong :)
Adams Rubble: although I have been working more with the concept of God than Jesus
Gaya Ethaniel: It could be 'Buddha' too. God - 'Source'
Fael Illyar: Buddha is not a person or an entity.
Adams Rubble: Stim and Pema both told me that the creator God is not part of Being
Gaya Ethaniel: I don't mean God here though
Fael Illyar: Buddha is the state of mind Buddhists are striving for
Adams Rubble: You are referring to Jesus specifically Gaya?
Gaya Ethaniel: Jesus, Buddha, enlightened beings are 'representation' of Being - I don't mean 'God' so far 'God' seems to me something bigger
Adams Rubble: I find that interesting but I am not equipped to answer since I don't understand Being yet.
Gaya Ethaniel: So what do you think about Being so far then Adams?
Adams Rubble: Well I struggle with it in my log :) But from what I have heard, struggling is not going to do it. So I have to be patient and wait :) And listen.
Fael Illyar: Yes, giving up struggling will :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Fael do you think 'state of mind' is Being?
Fael Illyar: No, Being is not state of mind
Gaya Ethaniel: I was reading what you said before. “Buddha is a 'state of mind' Buddhists are striving for.”
Fael Illyar: that 'state of mind' is misleading but.... It’s the closest term I can think of
Gaya Ethaniel: So is it correct to understand that Buddha is not Being to you then?
Fael Illyar: More like Buddha is someone who is one with Being or something like that.
    Adams Rubble thinks about that.
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes that's what i meant when I said Jesus = Being :)
    Adams Rubble: :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Of course I should have thought that Jesus is also physical entity.
Adams Rubble: Sometimes we are agreeing when we don't know it.
Fael Illyar: Yes, that's easy here. We think we disagree while we actually agree
    Gaya Ethaniel: Yes :)
Adams Rubble: Gaya, I have been looking for a very large Being, like God
Adams Rubble: Fael's experience seems to be more personal but Fael is here
Fael Illyar: It's not small or large :)
Adams Rubble: No but your experience
Fael Illyar: don't look at me :P I don't know what it is :P I just sometimes know what it isn't :P
    Adams Rubble: hehe
    Gaya Ethaniel smiles
Gaya Ethaniel: when you said you're looking for 'God' what do you mean by 'God' here? do you mean it in terms of a 'creator'?
Adams Rubble: Gaya, do you know about Pia's experience with the water
Gaya Ethaniel: no pls go ahead
Adams Rubble: She was rinsing dishes and when the cool water fell on her hands she realized that was Being and Pema said "yes." Steve last night told Pia that he also had a water experience but he was underwater. And then he popped his head out of the water he knew it was Being. Underneath was murky and he couldn't see. Up top he could see everything clearly.
Fael Illyar: Pema likes to say Being is beyond Dualism.
Gaya Ethaniel: So... just to go back. When you said 'God' you are referring to the 'cold water drop'?
Adams Rubble: I think the water drop is awareness
Adams Rubble: I don't see God there
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes me neither I just need clarification god can mean so many things, well at least to me.
Adams Rubble: It would be a stretch but it could be done :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Could you tell me what god you mean then Adams?
Adams Rubble: I was referring to a statement Fael made or question of Fael's
Adams Rubble: I wouldn't approach a discussion about God with these two water accounts :)
Fael Illyar: ... still confused :P
Adams Rubble: I think they are Being metaphors
