The Guardian this session was genesis Zhangsun the comments below are hers.

I arrived to find Doug sitting by his lonesome...

    genesis Zhangsun: Hey Doug
    genesis Zhangsun: How are u?
doug Sosa: ah,needed to scrolldown.i am really fine. self?
genesis Zhangsun: fine :) the cold has started to set in here in Berkeley
doug Sosa: yes, breezy bt great sun. our days hee are much like your.
    doug Sosa: "yours..
doug Sosa: I should come to berkeley for a visit.
genesis Zhangsun: yes you should :)

    Pema soon joined us...

    doug Sosa: hee comes pema..
    genesis Zhangsun: Hey Pema
    doug Sosa: hi
Pema Pera: Hi Gen and Doug -- Berkeley reunion?
    doug Sosa: yes!
genesis Zhangsun: Yes we were just sayin that Doug should come down to berkeley
    Pema Pera: :)
    Pema Pera: he should!
genesis Zhangsun: hey so should you ;)
    doug Sosa: ha.
doug Sosa: so i'd like to ask, what is happenn with plans, going back to our last berkeley time and the long

Doug was referring to when we met in RL in the end of July and talked about how to fund Play as Being.

genesis Zhangsun: well we are in the process of scouting and submitting grants
    Pema Pera: brb (phone)
genesis Zhangsun: for the Kira Campus activities and for PaB
doug Sosa: is kira more than the new bar/coffee place?
genesis Zhangsun: Ah yes check out the website kira.org
genesis Zhangsun: since we last spoke in berkeley there has been a flurry of activity
    Pema Pera: b
genesis Zhangsun: we went for a whole virtual interdisciplinary campus concept
Pema Pera: In the last 24 hours we had three meetings with between 10 to 20 avatars each, in the Kira Cafe
doug Sosa: i keep thinking i'velost continuity but i seem to find he conversations easy to be in,s if i missed little that changes the basic sense..
Pema Pera: all three different: "ask an astronomer", "happy hour", "Japanese evening"
doug Sosa: where in he cafe do you meet? Bar, ..?
    Pema Pera: Hi Wol!
    genesis Zhangsun: Hey Wol!
Pema Pera: bar area and nearby, Doug, fire place, etc
    doug Sosa: wol yes.

    Wol enters...

Wol Euler: hello gen, pema, doug
genesis Zhangsun: Yes Doug we meet in hte bar
doug Sosa: I felt like i was falling of the bar stool, just like real life.
    doug Sosa: off the
genesis Zhangsun: it seemed natural to go interdisicplinary when the participants in PaB come from such diverse background and this sharing adds so much to the whole
genesis Zhangsun: sharing across faiths, across disciplines
genesis Zhangsun: all with a playful spirit :)

Doug relates a very special kind of sharing with us, one that can only take place in SL.

doug Sosa: wol and i arived at the same point yesterday, quite a dance moving through each oher, new sense of "sharing"
    Wol Euler: heheheheh
Pema Pera: can you share your sharing with us?
doug Sosa: you mean do it,or wordsmith it?
Pema Pera: as you like :-)
    genesis Zhangsun: lol
doug Sosa: like falling off the virtual bar stool has he same reality as in RL, in this case, passing through each other was disconcetinly wonderful.
    doug Sosa: disconcertiningly
genesis Zhangsun: was it as good for you Wol as it was for Doug ;)
    Wol Euler chortles.
    Wol Euler: the angels sang.
    Pema Pera: more disconcertinin?
    Wol Euler: dis-concertina-ing perhaps
    Wol Euler: unfoldingly
    Pema Pera: hehehe
Wol Euler: to be honest (and Doug, please forgive me) I don't remember.
    doug Sosa: hm,maybe itwasn't you!
    Pema Pera: more disconcerting?
genesis Zhangsun: a few too many virtual whiskeys at the Kira Cafe huh?
    genesis Zhangsun: ;)
    doug Sosa: it was dark..
    Pema Pera: unconcerned and disconcerning?
genesis Zhangsun: thats what they all say Doug
    doug Sosa: hmm?
genesis Zhangsun: sorry Gen is just being naughty don't mind her
    Wol Euler chuckles
doug Sosa: to me, the little fliratious doings and afraid to be doins are one of the more ineresting parts of SL. Seems it is not spoken of much.
genesis Zhangsun: more than in RL?
doug Sosa: good question. he mysey of eal appeaance and he attractiveness of the avatars makes it more comlex.
doug Sosa: ( i am using a very old keyboard, sory for dropped characters.
    genesis Zhangsun: np
genesis Zhangsun: in some ways I find that sexuality is more in your face here then elsewhere and I just enjoy as opposed to being threatned by it as I may be in RL
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: and there is a lot more experimentation here than in RL :)
Wol Euler: (well, as far as one can tell .....
    Wol Euler: hi corvi
genesis Zhangsun: and not as many consequences I would guess
doug Sosa: i've missed out on all of it.

    Then Corvi came along...

    Pema Pera: Hi Corvi!
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: Hiya!
    doug Sosa: hi.
genesis Zhangsun: I don't speak from experience but I would gues
    genesis Zhangsun: Hey Corvi
Pema Pera: Corvi, did you continue the morning conversation a long time, after I left?
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: no.

Pema bring is back to PaB and APAPB

Pema Pera: That was really something, to hear Riddle talk about his APAPB explorations (the ones that Doug started in August!)
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: ended it there.
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: yes...I would too.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: i mean, like to hear more.
genesis Zhangsun: yes ty bringing it back to PaB themes
Pema Pera: let me see whether I can copy the core of this morning
    Pema Pera: just a sec
Pema Pera: Riddle Sideways: the introduction and investigation of APAPB threw me at first
Riddle Sideways: each word held such depth
Riddle Sideways: yet had trouble relating to its neighbor
Riddle Sideways: there was a point when I stopped trying to get ONE resolution
Riddle Sideways: and PLAYED with how many combinations
Riddle Sideways: to seed that the next 15min gong I would see something of APAPB
Riddle Sideways: a gong would go off
Riddle Sideways: and one of the words in a new way would throw itself at me
Riddle Sideways: to be attached by a word or the edge effect of 2 words
Riddle Sideways: and to blend with that force
    Riddle Sideways: Appreciate
genesis Zhangsun: hmmm very meta...Riddle seems to be using the words themselves to describe the effect they have
Pema Pera: letting the words lead him, a beautiful approach -- Doug said something similar, I believe, a while ago, no?
doug Sosa: I need to be reminded.. i don't remember about words, but he experience..
Pema Pera: you can make new words :)
Pema Pera: but i meant being let by the APAPB words
Pema Pera: (appreciate, presence, appearance, presentation, Being)
    Pema Pera: *led
doug Sosa: well, i think i absorbed the spirit of that senence without much diffeerntiation. Realizin that

Fael joins us making it a very special group indeed which at first just started with one.

    Pema Pera: Hi Fael!
    Wol Euler: hello fael
    genesis Zhangsun: Hey Fael!
doug Sosa: my projections e just an aspect of being, and that here are more presentions, presences, and apperances than i usually take in. Letting it be open and letting the consequences flow (including from my self) makes like much easier.
Fael Illyar: Hi Corvi, Wol, Gen, Pema, Doug :)
doug Sosa: like should be "life"
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: Hiya
doug Sosa: hi. caught me with my mouth full :)
    Pema Pera: :)
genesis Zhangsun: in some ways the words all mean the same thing to me
doug Sosa: i do remember that in the beginning i did let the rammar and the words difereniate and that was an important phase, looking at he meaning of each.
    doug Sosa: Grammar
genesis Zhangsun: what I mean by what I said is that appreciation is about presence and being for me is about presence
Pema Pera: yes, it is all facets of Being . . . .
Pema Pera: of what Being Is
doug Sosa: yet appearance, appreciation and presence are quite different
    genesis Zhangsun: how so Doug?
doug Sosa: like he tao syas "theese two are he same and only separate when put into speech"
doug Sosa: take each word and associateto it, he lines of asociation are different. appreciate is my heart, appeance is he patina, resence is an intentional at..
    doug Sosa: at = act.
genesis Zhangsun: yes and ultimately there is no separation between those three
doug Sosa: same nd diffeent: hence deep.
genesis Zhangsun: in appreciating the different manifestations of the appearances I am able to appreciate more/be more present with the wholeness
genesis Zhangsun: to appreciate that I too am an appearance
Pema Pera: and each of us is at the same time an appearance (as what appears as us) and Being (which lets everything appear)
Pema Pera: we can play with shifting identifications, like from hand to handpuppet and back
    Wol Euler smiles
Pema Pera knows that Wol knows :-)
Pema Pera: (the funny thing is we all know . . . )

Wol brings in a lovely image, which I have now come to expect from Wol the master of imagery :)

Wol Euler feels like a small child grasping at the dangling tail of an elephant as it swishes past, far above her.
    Fael Illyar smiles.
doug Sosa: i must depat. good conversatin with untied thrred..
Fael Illyar: See you later Doug :)
Pema Pera: doug, the expat :)
Wol Euler: bye doug, take care.
    genesis Zhangsun: see you
PaB Listener Master: Removing "doug Sosa" from list.
    Fael Illyar huggles Wol.
Pema Pera: Wol, the dangling is a very nice and apt image
Wol Euler smiles and squeezes back.
Wol Euler: fascinating and out of reach :)
    Pema Pera: that's the question . . . .
Pema Pera: it may swish you in the face :-)
Pema Pera: it may reach you!
    Wol Euler smiles
Fael Illyar: yes, as long as you're patient enough to stay put in the right place :)
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Wol Euler: there is Wu Wei in waiting until the small child grows up and sees the tail at eye level, easily in reach.
Pema Pera: a nice new version of the oxherding pictures!
Wol Euler: assuming that the elephant is patient enough to stay put in the right place :)
Fael Illyar: no need for the elephant to stay put :P
Fael Illyar: makes no difference :P
    Wol Euler: ah yse.
Fael Illyar: that's where the analogy fails :P
genesis Zhangsun: well sure Fael really there is no elephant
genesis Zhangsun: but keeps you going down the road to see one
genesis Zhangsun: but really I think you have to let go of the grasping for the tail and look around at the scenery passing by
Fael Illyar: yes, the key is realizing the elephant is a figment of your imagination and is exactly where you expect it to be :P
Wol Euler: learning to ride the non-existent elephant.
Pema Pera: and yet to engage . . .
genesis Zhangsun: the tale of the tail of the elephant helps to engage the reader/doer

We get into some word fun...

Pema Pera: the tale of the tall tail . . .
genesis Zhangsun: the tall tale of the tall tail
    Corvuscorva Nightfire guffaws.
    Wol Euler: hehehehh
genesis Zhangsun: does everyone know what a tall tale is?
    Pema Pera: ?
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
genesis Zhangsun: the meaning of a tall tale?
genesis Zhangsun: just as because I realize we have non native speakers
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: right
genesis Zhangsun: A tall tale is a story with unbelievable elements, related as if it was true and factual.
Fael Illyar: nice play of words :)
genesis Zhangsun: worked out well :)
Wol Euler: (I shall have to run, alas, another meeting at 2pm. It was a grand discussion, than you all)
    genesis Zhangsun: bye Wol
Wol Euler: bye everyone, take care.
    Fael Illyar waves to Wol.
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: bye!
    Pema Pera: bye Wol
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I too must go
    genesis Zhangsun: ciao Corvi
    genesis Zhangsun: ttyl
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: ciao!
Pema Pera: And I'm going to meet Kat in a few minutes
    Pema Pera: in RL
Fael Illyar waves goodbye to Corvi.
    genesis Zhangsun: Ah how nice
    Pema Pera: bye Corvi
genesis Zhangsun: didn't realize she was in the area
Pema Pera: One by one the avatars and their typists drop by in Princeton . . . .
Fael Illyar waves goodbye to Pema.
genesis Zhangsun: Pema have you ever heard the meaning of avatar
Fael Illyar: Well, I do have other things to do as well, so, see you later Gen :)
    Pema Pera: bye Fael!
    genesis Zhangsun: later Fael
Pema Pera: Yes, avatar is a kind of incarnation
genesis Zhangsun: yes I just read in the Gita
Pema Pera: an Indian god appearing in this realm
    Pema Pera: very fitting term
genesis Zhangsun: yes I thought so too
Pema Pera: well, I guess I am going to decarnate (?)
    genesis Zhangsun: right o
Pema Pera: good seeing you here again!
    genesis Zhangsun: see you later
    genesis Zhangsun: same here
    genesis Zhangsun: :)
