When the I (Quen plays me) arrived, Fael and a ghost-hologram of Serafim were in the pavillion.

    Fael Illyar: Hello Quen :)
quen Oh: hello Fael! and hi Serafim!

Fael Illyar: Serafim is ghosted, not really online.
    quen Oh: ah ok
quen Oh: funny, we have ghosts now

    Becka joined in.

    Fael Illyar: Hi Becka :)
    quen Oh: hello Beacka!
quen Oh: how are you Fael?
Becka Finesmith: hi guys - I can't move yet
Fael Illyar: I'm well today :) You?
quen Oh: take your time Becka :-)
    Becka Finesmith: Sorry about that
quen Oh: ah there you are
quen Oh: I am fine :-)
quen Oh: typical pre-winter day here
Fael Illyar: I've been observing my "active/passive switch" today ... well, mostly I tend to want to have it on active so it's once per day but still :)
Becka Finesmith: It's freezing here :( Snow forecast
    quen Oh: brr Becka ;-)
    quen Oh: active/passive switch Fael?

And Gaya swaggered into the pagoda..

Fael Illyar: Yes, it kind of affects whether I'm feeling like doing things or not.
Gaya Ethaniel swaggers into the pagoda
    Fael Illyar: Hi Gaya :)
    quen Oh: hey Gaya!
    Gaya Ethaniel: _/!\_
quen Oh: lol and it's switching a lot?
Fael Illyar ponders ... 'swaggers' ... drunk on something?
Becka Finesmith: Hey Gaya - Swaggers?
Fael Illyar: Quen, well, I'm kind of learning to "use" it :)
quen Oh: interesting Fael... would like to have such a switch too
Gaya Ethaniel shows off her 'swaggering' walk
Fael Illyar: I'm pretty sure you have :)
quen Oh: perhaps dental had appointment Gaya?
Becka Finesmith: lol - Nice gaya
quen Oh: and still affected by the anesteasia
    quen Oh: ;-) hello Faenik
Gaya Ethaniel: swagger - to walk or strut with a defiant or insolent air.
    Faenik: ^^
    Faenik: could be
quen Oh: we were talking about a brilliant thing: an active/passive switch on Fael
    Gaya Ethaniel nods
Fael Illyar: kind of feels like it's what determines whether you're feeling down or not.
Gaya Ethaniel: how did you find it?
Becka Finesmith: oooh - need one of those then. Taped in the "off" position
    Gaya Ethaniel: ^^
quen Oh: "off" would be passive Becka?
Fael Illyar: well, I started wondering about how come I was suddenly kind of down again and went for a walk and when I returned I somehow flicked it back.
quen Oh: ah yes, some fresh air and movement helps a lot, also coffee does for me
    Becka Finesmith: yes :)
    Gaya Ethaniel: or chocolate ^^
quen Oh: and if I want to not be passive, it's important that the temperature is not too high
    Gaya Ethaniel nods. same here
quen Oh: but also not very cold, as that makes me unhappy and only wanting to crawl together to keep warm
Becka Finesmith: MIt's strange how you can get low for no apparent reason
    quen Oh nods
Becka Finesmith: I do that then start to invent reasons. Not consciously, it just happens
quen Oh: I try to forget about it, eat something, or go do something active
    Becka Finesmith nods
    Becka Finesmith nods
    Faenik: why not?
    Gaya Ethaniel nods nods
Fael Illyar: yes, the key is to not mind it.
Fael Illyar: or, in other words, accept it
    Gaya Ethaniel nods nods
quen Oh: sometimes it is only that I am too warm, or needed to eat something, with salt and spice, or drink more
quen Oh: very curious how chemical disturbances in the system can influence your state of being
Fael Illyar: Ah, yes, I've been finding that if I forget to drink for a while, I get somewhat passive but it's different feling.
    quen Oh: ah ok
Gaya Ethaniel: one learns to distinguish over the time me thinks
quen Oh: probably it's not for everybody linked in the same manner
Gaya Ethaniel goes fetch some chocolate to eliminate low sugar level in her blood stream.. brb
Fael Illyar: there's also that the words we use to describe these things, they're quite different in some ways.
    quen Oh: mmm nice Gaya
Fael Illyar: very varied per person
    Fael Illyar: yes, good idea...
    quen Oh: of course
quen Oh: and probably different motivation to analyse exactly too

Pema Pera entered (not swaggering at all).

    quen Oh: hello Pema!
    Fael Illyar: Hi Pema :)
quen Oh: how is your active/passive switch today?
Pema Pera: Hi Fael, Gaya, Becka, Quen!
    quen Oh: (that
    Gaya Ethaniel: _/!\_
quen Oh: 's what we were talking about)
    Becka Finesmith: Hi Pema
    Pema Pera: active/passive switch?
Faenik is a hairy black ball with eyes and ears.
    Gaya Ethaniel: yeah... Pema
quen Oh: Fael has some switch, which can be turned on active or passive, only not that easy to understand how it works
Becka Finesmith: I'm sorry guys - I have to leave :( RL issue to resolve. See you at1 probably.
    Pema Pera: bye Becka!
    quen Oh: bye Becka!
Gaya Ethaniel: See you later Becka
    Becka Finesmith: Bye everyone
Gaya Ethaniel: Do you have power saving mode too Fael?

    And so Becka left.

    quen Oh smiles
    Fael Illyar: power saving?
Pema Pera: (she must be plugged in, no need for power saving)
quen Oh: that I have, when you are very tired but have to do something important, I can get extremely calm, almost serene, and than there is no problem doing it very well
Gaya Ethaniel: yeah... on and off and... something in between ^^
Fael Illyar: I think I've had something like that happen, yes
Pema Pera: that's a nice example of "stopping", Quen!
Fael Illyar: active but not spending any effort on things not directly related to what you'r doing
Pema Pera: yes, wu-wei, not doing
    Pema Pera: doing by not-doing
quen Oh: remembers the time of her graduation presentation, which had to be 2 months earlier than planned (university obscure organisation scheme)...
quen Oh: had not slept more than 3 hours for 2 weeks, the last 2 days none... but was quite fit all day
Gaya Ethaniel 's jaw drops... wow a superwoman ^^
quen Oh: my parents were terrified and expected every moment a collapse, others never even suspected something was wrong
Fael Illyar: It's often easy to do things in a very efficient way when you're under certain kind of pressure.
Fael Illyar: especially when it's pressure you can't negotiate away
quen Oh: the whole morning of that day was one big Zen experience...
    quen Oh nods, yes Fael
Pema Pera: that's wonderful, Quen, thank you for sharing with us!
quen Oh: have never had to do that in that extreme form, but it's nice I discovered the possibility
Pema Pera: in extreme situtations we can make shifts we normally don't know how to make
    Faenik: why not?
    quen Oh nods

Serafim the hologram / ghost, not the real one - or was he?!? - seemed to come alive...
Perhaps his on/off switch was pressed??

    Pema Pera: welcome Serafim!
    Pema Pera: welcome back
quen Oh: or has one of you ever had an accident or an almost one? where time goes into slow-motion and it seems you have time to see what is happening as in a dream and to react?
quen Oh: hello Serafim, nice to see you more alive
    Gaya Ethaniel: _/!\_
    Fael Illyar: Hello Serafim :)
Pema Pera: sorry to interrupt your story, Quen, but I had asked Serafim to log in and then offered her a tp, and that broke the spell of the frozen ghost avatar here
Pema Pera: Interestingly, while Serafim was in the Kira Cafe, her frozen avatar was still here, but only when she tped over, did the other Serafim disappear
quen Oh: the idea of a house-ghost was charming, but to see the real Serafim is even better
Pema Pera: I had hoped we might get two Serafims, for the price of one!
    quen Oh: lol
Pema Pera: To come back to your question, Quen, yes, I've encountered some time-slowing experiences, but I've heard from good friends much more extreme versions like that
Fael Illyar: The ghost is on the sim level it seems :)
    quen Oh: hehe Fael
Pema Pera: yes, it does seem like that
    Gaya Ethaniel: ^^
Pema Pera: so we can get four of the same avatar near a corner of a sim!!
Pema Pera: if we only knew how to trigger the bug
    Fael Illyar: Yes :P
quen Oh: it's amazing indeed what you can do in such situations Pema, things you would not even begin to consider in normal ones
Pema Pera: yes, our range of abilitites is sooooo much larger than what we have learned to associate with during our upbringing . . . .
    quen Oh: curious
Pema Pera: we have sooooo many degrees of freedom, dimensions of possibilities, that we normally never even begin to explore
Pema Pera: Sorry, have to run, RL calling -- wish I could stay longer!
quen Oh: I see you are relatively new in SL Stanner, nice to meet you
quen Oh: bye Pema, have a good day
Pema Pera: See you all soon again, bye for now
    quen Oh: see you soon
Fael Illyar: Yes, it requires extreme danger to let go of our beliefs that don't hold water and see the ones that do.

    And Pema was switched off(line).

    Gaya Ethaniel: _/!\_
Fael Illyar: ... He pops in a lot for just a few minutes lately.
    Gaya Ethaniel nods
    quen Oh: hehe
quen Oh: Serafim is a very tired ava now...
    Gaya Ethaniel: ^^
    Fael Illyar: so it seems.
    Faenik: なるほど^^

Now the Serafim-appearance who was tagged "away" seems to be really away.. Funny how "on" and "off" and "away" get meaning in SL.

quen Oh: oops there he is gone
    quen Oh: ai possible indeed
quen Oh: in fact if we want chat to be automatically recorded and published perhaps it's better that the recorder asks permission to a person.. but that will be difficult to design
Fael Illyar: Yes, that needs doing if it gets automated
Fael Illyar: but it's interesting that in times of extreme danger, we become able to do pretty impressive feats.
    Gaya Ethaniel nods
    Faenik: ah :)
Gaya Ethaniel: we shed... something in those moments
Fael Illyar: I'd think we shed all useless beliefs... who knows, perhaps all beliefs
quen Oh: it is indeed Fael, it's amazing what adrenaline can do in us
    Gaya Ethaniel: ah well
Gaya Ethaniel has an itch to show her new facelight
Fael Illyar: go ahead then :)
quen Oh needs to be gone too
quen Oh: ah yes, please show Gaya
    Fael Illyar laughs.
Gaya Ethaniel: Can you see my face ok?
quen Oh: lol that is a big equipment whcih is lighting you
Fael Illyar: no, not really, too bright :)
Fael Illyar: it's the sort of thing you wear to make a statement :)
    quen Oh: this is nicer
    Gaya Ethaniel: ^^
quen Oh: now we see more depth in your face, its softer and rounder
    Gaya Ethaniel: ok
quen Oh looks at poor Faenik, crashed under the device and blinded
    Gaya Ethaniel: ^^
Fael Illyar: Oh well, he's sturdy :)
    Faenik: could be
    quen Oh: lol
    Gaya Ethaniel giggles
Fael Illyar: he seems to agree :)
quen Oh: well I am sorry, but I have to go now
quen Oh: bye Fael, Gaya and Faenik!
Gaya Ethaniel: Enjoy your day quen ^^
Fael Illyar: See you later Quen :)
quen Oh: you too guys :-)
Gaya Ethaniel is PaBed out too

And the PaB-listener switched off.. and we went away.. (I think)
