Paradise Tennant: very well thanks steve..
Paradise Tennant: what is the difference between the cultivator and guardian title.. can cultivators claim session ?
stevenaia Michinaga: if you are a guardian, you can claim the log no matter what group you wear
    Paradise Tennant: :) kk
stevenaia Michinaga: I think Cultivator is a Kira group tag
stevenaia Michinaga: PaB has the Guardian tag.. points to top of head
    Paradise Tennant: ahh kk
    stevenaia Michinaga: hello Pila
Pila Mulligan: hi Paradise and Steve
Paradise Tennant: hiya pila gtsy :)
    --BELL--
    Paradise Tennant: hiya eos :)
    Pila Mulligan: hi Eos
stevenaia Michinaga: I head the bell but didn;t see the "bell" message
    stevenaia Michinaga: heard
    Pila Mulligan: me either
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Stever, Pila
Pila Mulligan: maybe it is having a silent day
stevenaia Michinaga: no timer.... we are lost!!!!!
    Paradise Tennant: ;)
stevenaia Michinaga: I just returned from an anniversary dinner with my wife of 30 years and had a very interesting reflective moment that reminded me of the 9 second thing we do.... only reflecting on a food moment
    Paradise Tennant: sounds lovely :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: lost in taste
Pila Mulligan: mazel tov -- 30 years :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Pila Mulligan: is your wife getting around okay now, or is her ankle still a burden for her
stevenaia Michinaga: the tastes became an internal reflective moment of flavors rolling around my head, like my thoughts do with the 9 second meditation
Paradise Tennant: chocolate does that for me sometimes .. really really good chocolate :)
stevenaia Michinaga: ys, this was one of the best area restaurants, same thing
Paradise Tennant: I bet that 30 years seems like just a blur - :) by in a blink
Eos Amaterasu: your life together in one little taste
stevenaia Michinaga: well, we were talking about the enxt 30 :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: next
Paradise Tennant: what a fine approach !
    Pila Mulligan: 2d phase :)
stevenaia Michinaga: well not sure duck sums it up entirely
stevenaia Michinaga: but 9 seconds worth
Pila Mulligan: the third 30 could be even more fun
Eos Amaterasu: "He reposes in the immediate as if it were infinity; which it is. That is religion, and the duck has it."
    Paradise Tennant: ;)
stevenaia Michinaga: assuming no parts fall off
    Paradise Tennant: ;)
Paradise Tennant: love the quote eos
stevenaia Michinaga: where is that from?
    Eos Amaterasu: http://playasbeing.wik.is/Chat_Logs/2009/09/2009.09.02_07%3a00_-_Little_Duck
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Maxine!
    Maxine Walden: hi, all
    stevenaia Michinaga: hello Maxine

stevenaia Michinaga: nice to see you at this time

    Maxine Walden: great pictures, eos
    stevenaia Michinaga: no rushing SL
Maxine Walden: right...SL has its own time and timing
stevenaia Michinaga: what a lovely fountain
    Eos Amaterasu: Amazin, eh
Maxine Walden: yeah, reminded us all of this fountain and offered a bit of cool as well
Eos Amaterasu: Not to mention bats at night
Maxine Walden: oh, right, great bats! Reminds you of all those fantasies we all had
Maxine Walden: of bats at night....
stevenaia Michinaga: happy fantasies I hope
Maxine Walden: oh, yes, happy, but also if you wished they could be a bit scary when you are a kid...take your pick
Maxine Walden: did you all see Pema's email just posted about having 4 RL retreats a year?
Maxine Walden: in different parts of the world
    Pila Mulligan: yes
    --BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, Malta sounds lovely
    Paradise Tennant: :)
Eos Amaterasu: Maybe we should do one in Hawaii so Pila doesn't have to fly :-)
    Paradise Tennant: ;)
    Pila Mulligan: :)
Maxine Walden: that would be nice, Hawaii
Pila Mulligan: sounds nice to me, Eos
Paradise Tennant: walking meditation on the beach :)
stevenaia Michinaga: is you compound large enough, with a pool and fountain?
Pila Mulligan: large enough for a small group, but no pool or fountain :)
Pila Mulligan: only a rainforest and a volcano
    Maxine Walden: :)!
Paradise Tennant: ;) well we will have to make due :)))))
    Maxine Walden: indeed!!!
    Paradise Tennant: *do
Pila Mulligan: there are some awesom retreat locations here, but they are expensive
Pila Mulligan: easier to just make do, I'd guess
    Pila Mulligan: hi Ben
    Benedizione Vita: hello all
    stevenaia Michinaga: hello Ben
    Paradise Tennant: hiya ben :)
    Maxine Walden: hi Ben
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Bene
    Eos Amaterasu: Life's blessings?
Benedizione Vita: yes, that's very good eos :)
    Maxine Walden: lovely name...
Benedizione Vita: thank you, maxine :)
    Paradise Tennant: ;)
Paradise Tennant: well what would we like to talk about tonight to explore :)
stevenaia Michinaga: I was talking earlier how in my case food, not abell brought me to a 9 second internally reflective food moment this evening
Maxine Walden: please say more, steve
Maxine Walden: sorry I did not hear your first mention
stevenaia Michinaga: the tastes brought me inward to a moment of singular focus
stevenaia Michinaga: it was before you arrived
stevenaia Michinaga: was nice and interesting how a diversion of your senses can adjust your viewpoint inword
    Maxine Walden: hmmm, yes
Paradise Tennant: hmm yes I find when I pause during the day .. for those 9 sec breaks .. it brings you back to your senses .. directly ..
Eos Amaterasu: the presence of the taste
Pila Mulligan: a shift of attention
    Maxine Walden: yes
Paradise Tennant: yes focused in bodily awareness of now
    Maxine Walden: right
stevenaia Michinaga: I often feel it a moment of "mind in action or motion" and at peace at the same time
Maxine Walden: interesting, steve, think I know what you mean
Eos Amaterasu: yes, the moment may be literally in flight
stevenaia Michinaga: the mind covering a lot of ground in thought
Paradise Tennant: time is just perception too..
    --BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: a nice intense sprint of thought to awareness, seems when the mind goes quiet, awareness plays loudly
    Paradise Tennant: nicely put :)
    Maxine Walden: very nicely put
Eos Amaterasu: yes, .... nice tango
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: although I am not a regorous practicioner, it is nice when the aware moments are not brought on by me saying now, but by other things aound me, like food in this instance
Eos Amaterasu: awareness come to you
    stevenaia Michinaga: reallly good food
    Eos Amaterasu: comes
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
Maxine Walden: yes, that feeling of sponaineity from the surrounding
Eos Amaterasu: like apple slices :-)
Pila Mulligan: it may have been more than just the food, Steve -- the first time he mentoined it he referred also to the fact it was a 30th anniversary dinner with his wife
Maxine Walden: inner or outer...yes, Eos, like apple slices :)
Pila Mulligan: the occssion may have contrinbuted as well
    stevenaia Michinaga: nods
    Maxine Walden: oh, wonderful!
Paradise Tennant: there milestones in life that give pause for intense relection .. accomplishments ..
Eos Amaterasu: an anniversary, when time catches up with the moment
    stevenaia Michinaga: an extraordinary meal
Paradise Tennant: shared lives .. :))
    Maxine Walden: hmmm
    Eos Amaterasu mouth waters
Maxine Walden: yes so much shared...
    Pila Mulligan: :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: lots of smiles
Paradise Tennant: one of the best things to share :))))))))
stevenaia Michinaga: although I think we wished for wealth sometime in the next 30
    Eos Amaterasu: Congrats, stevenaia
    stevenaia Michinaga: "_
    Paradise Tennant: lol
Pila Mulligan: be careful what you wish tor :)
Paradise Tennant: yep wealth if it takes you from the path ..could be bad karma :))
Maxine Walden: wishing for wealth...and good 'taste' ?
    Paradise Tennant: :)))
stevenaia Michinaga: otherwise we can;t afford all this good food
    Pila Mulligan: :)
    Paradise Tennant: :))
stevenaia Michinaga: spent our 25th eating our way through Napa Valley
    Paradise Tennant: lovely choice ..
    Pila Mulligan: drnking too?
    Paradise Tennant: love napa valley
Maxine Walden: and sipping wine too?
stevenaia Michinaga: a little, not big wine drinkers
stevenaia Michinaga: but food can be heavenly
Maxine Walden: so where was this wonderful 30th meal?
    Pila Mulligan: Hoboken Pizza Hut
    Maxine Walden: haha
    stevenaia Michinaga: rofl
    stevenaia Michinaga: http://www.boleterestaurant.com
Paradise Tennant: ;) could be yummy too ...depends on one's mood
stevenaia Michinaga: depends on who's eyes you are looking into
    Maxine Walden: yes! steve
    Eos Amaterasu: Bethlehem, PA?
    stevenaia Michinaga: nods
Pila Mulligan: Chef Chizmar looks like someone capabe of cooking a good meal

stevenaia Michinaga: love a restaurant website with a philosophy tab
    Paradise Tennant: lol
Paradise Tennant: well food is primal .. it touches our core :)) gives us llfe ..
Eos Amaterasu: Well, I need to depart....
    --BELL--
    Paradise Tennant: nite nite eos
    Pila Mulligan: bye Eos
    stevenaia Michinaga: night
    Eos Amaterasu: Ciao, all
    Paradise Tennant: :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: Play as Eating?
    Pila Mulligan: :)
Maxine Walden: seems so in our thoughts tonight
Pila Mulligan: I wonder how the idea of 4 retreats a year will work out
    Paradise Tennant: :)
Pila Mulligan: that's pretty frequent actually
Paradise Tennant: would be progressive if you .. could attend more than one
Paradise Tennant: pretty big dispersed group :)
Pila Mulligan: and the widely dispersed locations wouold require a lot of travelling to do so
Paradise Tennant: do not need a big number of people to make it work well .. just the intention
stevenaia Michinaga: sounds like a job for SKYPE and video
Paradise Tennant: hmm that would work too
Maxine Walden: lots to think about
Pila Mulligan: Maxine, do you think the recent retreat would have had the same feeling with half as many people?
    Maxine Walden: thinking....
    Pila Mulligan: :)
Pila Mulligan: an impossible question, actually :)
Maxine Walden: think it would have had a different feeling...each group/size being unique, and in some ways it might have been more intimate...first thoughts
Maxine Walden: more intimate with fewer people
    Pila Mulligan: yes
Pila Mulligan: less potential diversity (but not necessarily goverend by statistics)
    Maxine Walden: agree, Pila
Paradise Tennant: also depends on the goals set for the retreat .. what the objective is as a group and for each individual
    Maxine Walden: right...
stevenaia Michinaga: if you were to reflect on a goal of last week, what would it be Maxine?
    Maxine Walden: thinking again...
    stevenaia Michinaga: no pressure
Maxine Walden: think we were following Pema and his selection of practices...
Maxine Walden: but also realizing this was perhaps a template retreat for others likely to follow
Maxine Walden: so maybe there were different levels of 'goal' or 'expectation'; certainly for each individual the goals were unique I imagine
Maxine Walden: and there were many different personalities gathered, but all melded together, appreciating each one's differences at least to my eye
Maxine Walden: and yet open to curiosity, with respect...no cliques that I could detect
Maxine Walden: lots of room for individual space
Paradise Tennant: ;) sounds like harmony :)
    Maxine Walden: 'twas harmony, Paradise
Maxine Walden: I'm afraid I have to go. lovely to see and talk with you all; hope to see you soon
    Paradise Tennant: nite nite maxine
    Maxine Walden: bye for now
    stevenaia Michinaga: bye Maxine
Pila Mulligan: bye Maxine -- see you Sunday
    Pila Mulligan: or sooner
Paradise Tennant: shall we wind down with a meditation ?
stevenaia Michinaga: I'm filling in for Sylectra tomarrow
    stevenaia Michinaga: nods
stevenaia Michinaga: think cherry glazed duck
    Paradise Tennant: lol
    Pila Mulligan: lime curd
    Paradise Tennant: lol
