The Guardian for this meeting was Eden Haiku who was replacing Eos Amaterasu (attending Malta retreat). The comments are by Eden Haiku.

The session starts with Storm and Lila commenting on my unusual silence.

    Lila Darkmatter: Hi Eden :)
Lila Darkmatter: You look astoundingly pretty... all in pink and glitter :)
    Lila Darkmatter: Hi Storm!
    Storm Nordwind: Hi there!
Lila Darkmatter: Eden seems to be afk :)
    Storm Nordwind: Oh dear!
    Lila Darkmatter: :)
Storm Nordwind: Her avatar yet lives!
    Lila Darkmatter: yes... lively !
    --BELL--
Eden Haiku: Yes, sorry I was afk...Hi Lila, hello Storm.
    Lila Darkmatter: Hi Eden:)
    Eden Haiku: ;-)
Eden Haiku: Any topic on your mind?
    Storm Nordwind: Apparently not! :)
Lila Darkmatter: A little bird told me you'd be travelling soon Eden...

It is true time flows differently in Second Life. I have the feeling I have been talking about my trip to India so much that it feels I should be returning by now. And yet, I still have almost a week before I go!

    Eden Haiku: :-)
    Lila Darkmatter: All set?
Eden Haiku: Almost: talked to my hosts in India yesterday night.
Lila Darkmatter: Are you staying with the same people the whole time?
Eden Haiku: Had my nails and my toe nails done today :-)
    Lila Darkmatter smiles
Storm Nordwind wonders what that's like
Eden Haiku: No no, but I will be attending a conference and I had to check some details.
    Lila Darkmatter: Ah
Lila Darkmatter: You've never gone to a salon for nails, Storm? :)
Eden Haiku: Decided not to take the malaria medication also.
Storm Nordwind: Not in any lifetime, as far as I can remember Lila
    Lila Darkmatter: :)
Storm Nordwind: Why did you decide that Eden?
Lila Darkmatter: How come, Eden? Was it plaquenil?
Eden Haiku: The place I go,  where I have been going for 8 years now, is so wonderful. Vietnamese women. They became friends.
Lila Darkmatter: Grooming can be full of rituals :)
Eden Haiku: Oh malaria medication, no I was prescribed malarone but it is not really necessary in winter where I go.
    Lila Darkmatter: Ohh
Storm Nordwind: When is your return flight Eden?
Eden Haiku: March 10th from Delhi via Amsterdam.
Storm Nordwind: So... you will be there for Holi :) Any plans?
Eden Haiku: You think so? I thought Holi was in April? It varies from year to year. Was there for Holi. Really concerned about my silk pink sari I remember :-)
Storm Nordwind: I think it is usually on or close to the start of march
Storm Nordwind: I think it even starts on Feb 28th this year
Eden Haiku: Did you enjoyed holi yourself Storm? all the colorful powders. It is lots of fun but I find it a bit scary.
    Storm Nordwind: Why scary?
Eden Haiku: Messy, crowds, people getting really excited...I lived in an ashram then, a very quiet place...This was in town, in Bombay.
    Storm Nordwind: True
    Lila Darkmatter: Sharp contrast, then
Storm Nordwind: I remember one spiritual teacher unleashing a firehose with colored water at his disciples one year :)
    Lila Darkmatter: Oh My!
Storm Nordwind: I think the recipients felt rather blessed!
Eden Haiku: At weddings they have fireworks everywhere also. Noisy. But hey, it is India. I better be prepared :-)

    --BELL--

Eden Haiku: Once my guru sent us water through a hose after a many-hours dancing saptah. Lovely!
    Lila Darkmatter: Saptah?
Eden Haiku: A dancing satsang. Dancing meditation rather.
    Lila Darkmatter: That sounds beautiful
Eden Haiku: Wonderful memories of that day. That was October 5 1990.
Eden Haiku: I had been in India for a whole year and there was this big celebration that lasted for more than 24 hours. Not for me, but it was so memorable!
Eden Haiku: But this time, I will not be in an ashram. A very different experience of India.
Lila Darkmatter: I have only the images from various documentaries and such, but it seems that when people are used to sharing space with so many, it becomes natural...
Storm Nordwind: I have memories of doing dancing meditation of quite a different kind, many years ago
Eden Haiku: Yes, I had this great experience as I was dancing to the village with thousands of Indians: of being able to keep the pace without ever stumbling on someone else feet.
Lila Darkmatter smiles... so space enough :)

I love the realistic touch of Bieup and the pavilion. It was nighttime, and there were some animals in the vicinity. It gently brought us back to the here and now and to Storm's new creation: the Five Bells pub's cat and the competition he launched to find her a name.

Eden Haiku: Are these coyotes we hear Storm? Owls?
Storm Nordwind: I think owls. Our new cat has chased the coyotes away using her supreme magic of laziness!
    Lila Darkmatter: he hehe
    Lila Darkmatter: chasing without chasing?
Storm Nordwind: Yes. She refused to grant them audience.
Eden Haiku: I was playing with her at the pub before the session. She is so very cute!!!
Eden Haiku: Turning on her back, purring...
Storm Nordwind: I think she likes us :)
Eden Haiku: Hope she will stay :-)
    Lila Darkmatter: :)
Eden Haiku: As you said Storm, we never know with cats...
Storm Nordwind: As long as we give her a name that is not beneath her dignity, I suspect she'll stay
Eden Haiku: Eliza was suggesting we discuss the name in a session. But then we are only three tonite...
    Storm Nordwind chuckles
Eden Haiku: Would have any suggestion for the name of the cat Lila?
    Lila Darkmatter: :)
Storm Nordwind: How about Lila? :)
Eden Haiku: Thought the same thing!
Storm Nordwind: Or would that be confusing?
    Eden Haiku: Lila!!!
Eden Haiku: Would you mind Lila, having a cat named in your honor?
Lila Darkmatter thinks Lila is a perfectly lovely name... but hm, maybe confusing for others :)
Eden Haiku: And in honor of the Veils of Delusion?
Storm Nordwind: But also in honor of the Divine Play and Dance
Lila Darkmatter thinks she'd be retroactively named after the cat :)
    Storm Nordwind laughs
    Eden Haiku: ;-)
    Lila Darkmatter: :)
Storm Nordwind: Maybe you can post that to the naming competition email thread Eden.
Eden Haiku: Yes you are right Storm, Lila is more the Divine Play than anything else...
Lila Darkmatter: Divine play sure does seem to fit the unpredictable nature of a feline...
Eden Haiku: ok the competition needs to go on for a while so more people contribute names.
Lila Darkmatter: There is a cat at my group which one day sits with me, another day rejects me...
Lila Darkmatter: I am working on equanimity :)
Eden Haiku: We will know it when we find HER name.
Storm Nordwind: And also its ostensibly supercilious but actually loving nature
Eden Haiku: Good practice of equanimity yes Lila...
    Lila Darkmatter: Taoist cat?

    --BELL--

Nine seconds practice on the road

Lila Darkmatter: Hm, though it is true that when a cat comes and sits with someone he/she can be so perfectly calming... a wonderful friend to help drop tension and settle :)
Eden Haiku: I was doing the 9 secs practice today.
    Lila Darkmatter: yes?
Eden Haiku: I realize how often I forget to do it.
Storm Nordwind: If that happens to me, it feels like a welcome friend when I do it again
Eden Haiku: But doing it today, a few times, I got the feeling of landing into some very grounding place each time.
    Lila Darkmatter: :)
Eden Haiku: Yes, like I was welcomed back, exactly. :-)
Lila Darkmatter: what a lovely idea
Eden Haiku: Also like all the 9 secs were like a pearl necklace or something, all linked in another' time'
    Lila Darkmatter: hmm
Eden Haiku: I really want to take this practice with me in India.
Lila Darkmatter: Do you have good tools while travelling?
    Eden Haiku: Tools?
    Lila Darkmatter: for reminders, etc?
Storm Nordwind: Perhaps you will inspire people of that country to practise too, and perhaps come here and tell us about it
Eden Haiku: I could set some on my iPod, yes..
Lila Darkmatter: I wonder if it might work for some to have a little visual cue, when they aren't able to set a bell...
Lila Darkmatter: wouldn't be exact, but hm. :)
Eden Haiku: Yes, maybe a bracelet or something...
    Lila Darkmatter nods
Eden Haiku: A visual clue would be the best for me...
Lila Darkmatter: Also a point of conversation... like Storm mentioned
Eden Haiku: I will think about it. Thanks for the suggestion Lila.
Lila Darkmatter: It would be really interesting to hear such stories :)
Lila Darkmatter sees Eden's wheels turning
    Lila Darkmatter: :)
Eden Haiku: Yes, I'm sure I will talk about PaB. Especially that I will miss it so much...
Storm Nordwind: We're not trying to make you think of yourself as a missionary though Eden!
    Lila Darkmatter: And PaB you!
    Lila Darkmatter: hahah
Eden Haiku: Can you imagine I convince some saintly sadhu of Varanasi to join Twitter and Pab?
Lila Darkmatter: yes definitely not.. but thinking for myself too ...
    Lila Darkmatter giggles
Storm Nordwind: never say never :)

    On a mission

Eden Haiku: I have this missionnary thing embedded in me from childhood Storm.
    Lila Darkmatter: Oh?
Storm Nordwind: Good or bad memories?
Eden Haiku: I used to play missionnaries in the Great North with my sister during snowstorms when I was a kid.
    Lila Darkmatter: :)
Eden Haiku: Good memories, lots of fun!
    Storm Nordwind: Blowing white purity
Eden Haiku: We used the family dog as an Eskimo dog...
Eden Haiku: My sister was visiting my Dad tonite.
Lila Darkmatter: oh goodness... am picturing that
Eden Haiku: It is so sad we are estranged now...
Storm Nordwind: That is sad... perhaps a memory of a childhood game would help mend it
Lila Darkmatter: Wasn't she distant from your father before too, Eden?
Eden Haiku: No, she kept her links with everyone except me.
Lila Darkmatter: Sorry, Eden. So difficult
Lila Darkmatter: Sometimes a memory can startle someone out of a rut, though, maybe worth a try...
Lila Darkmatter: be a missionary to your sister perhaps :)
Eden Haiku: Childhood memories, shared memories and then...
Storm Nordwind: who would not feel blessed by such sweet memories?

    --BELL--

Eden Haiku: thinks she should wait for her sister to have a change of heart.
Lila Darkmatter: Good to follow your own instincts...
Lila Darkmatter: was thinking of a kind of 'loving' hit and run... hah... pour affection then get on a plane...
    Lila Darkmatter: hahah
Eden Haiku: Ah , yes, Maybe, send her some roses and be gone!
    Lila Darkmatter: :)))
Storm Nordwind: I'm sorry Eden... we were not lecturing you... we were just encouraging a dear friend if that encouragement would at all help :))
Eden Haiku: oh, yes, I know Storm, no worries, I see where you are coming from.
    Lila Darkmatter: :)
Eden Haiku: And I think you are both right about loving her. Yet, I have a long experience of her (she is younger by 11 months only) and I know it is useless now.
Storm Nordwind: When things like that have happened to me, over short or long periods, I have found Langri Tangpas "Eight verses for training the mind" has helped me a lot.
    Eden Haiku: Oh, yes?
    Lila Darkmatter takes note
Storm Nordwind: I'll not go into them all now, but they are worth looking up, in my humble opinion
    Eden Haiku: googling him
Eden Haiku: Yes, I will read them Storm, thank you.
Eden Haiku: I have this fundamental trust that life will unknot the knot somehow.
Lila Darkmatter: Ah, part of lojong
Storm Nordwind: Yes, lojong, and I'll just mention that verse 7 is about Tonglen
    Lila Darkmatter nods, Eden... yes
Eden Haiku: I have a lot of help also: a therapist, my friend who is very helpful too.
Eden Haiku: My brothers, my father: they all are very compassionate.
    Lila Darkmatter: That's a gift
Storm Nordwind: Keep that trust, whatever you do Eden! It is sure to be right in time. :)
Eden Haiku: Yes. And I feel my mother is there with me too, her spirit is.
Eden Haiku: Thank you so much for having listened to me tonite. I feel priveleged.
Storm Nordwind: The privilege is ours Eden :)
Eden Haiku: You are two great souls, Lila and Storm.
Eden Haiku: Divine Play of Tempests!
Lila Darkmatter: Ah, Eden. That's precious of you to say... yes a great privelege to be with you both
Storm Nordwind slowly realizes Eden's pun :)
Lila Darkmatter looks and sees after Storm's pointing
    Lila Darkmatter: hahah
Lila Darkmatter: Sometimes things untangle while we're working on other things...
Lila Darkmatter: maybe even in sleep :)
Eden Haiku: The friend I'm going to Varanasi with was telling me today that he knows second hand bookstores in Pahar Ganj where we will be staying in Delhi Storm. I'm going to find this book you are looking for!

    The power of dreams

Storm Nordwind: Ah yes... I had a demonstration - a simple one - of the power of dreams the other night
Storm Nordwind: Oh thank you Eden!! :)
    Eden Haiku: Yes Storm?
    Lila Darkmatter listens
Storm Nordwind: I find that if I need a message from dreams, it appears in the last minute or two before I wake.
Storm Nordwind: But I guess I'd let it fall into disuse
Storm Nordwind: Then the other morning, I was in dream conversation with someone
Storm Nordwind: and they told me to look at "Compliment Three"
Storm Nordwind: and then I awoke
Storm Nordwind: It was very strange
Storm Nordwind: And later in the day I Googled it
    Storm Nordwind: One hit
    --BELL--
    Storm Nordwind: that meant anything
Storm Nordwind: National Compliment Day was that day. Give Three people a compliment.
Storm Nordwind: And although other sites said five instead of three
Storm Nordwind: this was the proof that I had a teaching mechanism
Storm Nordwind: as I had never heard of such a concept as National Compliment Day before
Lila Darkmatter: !! How completely interesting...
Eden Haiku: Yes! what a dream and what a teaching.
Storm Nordwind: The content was lovely, but in a way incidental. It was the mechanism that I was being taught
Lila Darkmatter: So this showed you something small, which showed you something much larger
Eden Haiku: I'm sure you put it into practice.
    Storm Nordwind nods to both
    Lila Darkmatter: yes, and confidence
Storm Nordwind: yes. confidence is key. With confidence I can do, and do do, anything
Eden Haiku: Like your subconscious being linked to something greater?
    Lila Darkmatter: ysbs :)
Storm Nordwind: I'm sure there are many explanatory models, some contradictory to the others!
    Eden Haiku: Yes, Lila
Storm Nordwind: As a pragmatist, if it works I'll use it!
Eden Haiku: When writing, I come into that space very often.
Eden Haiku: I would need to know something, wonder about it,,, then I would be zapping on TV (hum..humm) and the information would be there!
    Lila Darkmatter: :))
Eden Haiku: Een better than Google!
Storm Nordwind: Eden better than Google? ;)
    Lila Darkmatter: as a resource?
    Eden Haiku: *Even! Joker!
    Lila Darkmatter: :))
    Storm Nordwind: hehe
Lila Darkmatter: I became more invested in pab after that kind of a dream... PaB represented oatmeal, and I had three dreams about it...
    Lila Darkmatter is sleepy :)
Lila Darkmatter: hm, perhaps dream talk makes way for clarity tonight :)
Lila Darkmatter: Nice to spend this time with you both
Eden Haiku: Yes, it is getting late...
Lila Darkmatter: Few more days before you leave Eden?
Eden Haiku: Was really happy to meet you Lila!
Lila Darkmatter: Thank you Eden, you as well :)
Eden Haiku: Yes, I'm leaving next Monday.
Lila Darkmatter: We'll have to gather in the pub before then :))
    Storm Nordwind smiles
    Eden Haiku: Yes, we will!
    Lila Darkmatter: :)
    Lila Darkmatter: Night both :)
Eden Haiku: Goodnite, sweet dreams Lila! Great dress!
    Storm Nordwind: Goodnight Lila
Eden Haiku: When I edit my goodbyes it is too late!
    Storm Nordwind chuckles
Storm Nordwind: Late for you too though Eden
Eden Haiku: Yes, I should go to bed I think...
Storm Nordwind: Then I will wish you goodnight
Storm Nordwind: Bye Eden. Hello steve. Bye steve!
stevenaia Michinaga: I was just on a walk before bed too
Eden Haiku: Goodnite Storm! See you soon! Hello Steve. We were leaving...
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: good treams to all
    stevenaia Michinaga: dreams
Eden Haiku: Have you been to the pub yet Steve?
    stevenaia Michinaga: night Eden
    stevenaia Michinaga: yes, love it
    Eden Haiku: Goodnight!
stevenaia Michinaga: what a comfy place
stevenaia Michinaga: haven't met the cat yet
Eden Haiku: Yes, and the cat! I like your jeans, you look like a hippie Steve.
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Eden Haiku: Bye for now, I'm falling asleeep...
stevenaia Michinaga: I never changed them
