    SophiaSharon Larnia: yes!
    Wol Euler: indeed
    arabella Ella: yes!!!
Pema Pera: well, let's see, we went to at least three music events so far . . . .
    Eden Haiku: Oh!
genesis Zhangsun: 2 of them unwittingly
Pema Pera: one in a park, one in city center and one in a jazz club
Pema Pera: only the last one on purpose -- sort of, even there we weren't sure whether there would be live music
    Wol Euler:  :)
Qt Core: and with good music you end updropping all but the "music feeler"
    Scathach Rhiadra is Offline
Pema Pera: half of our time has been spend in a large hotel room, sitting, practicing, talking
Pema Pera: and the other half walking around, eating, drinking, having a good time  :-)
Pema Pera: a great balance, I'd say  :)
    Wol Euler:  :)
    Bleu Oleander: sounds like fun
    Gaya Ethaniel:  :)
genesis Zhangsun: it has been a great unretreat
Eden Haiku: Did you all knew each other already?
    Pema Pera: yes
Wol Euler: is an un-retreat perhaps an "advance"? or a "forward march"?
Pema Pera: hmmm, many options there!
    Pema Pera: a treat perhaps
Eos Amaterasu: go back to the end
    Pema Pera:  :)
    Bleu Oleander: circular
Eden Haiku: Where is Eliza ,you let her loose and wild in San Francisco?
genesis Zhangsun: dropping even the "retreat" in "retreat"
Pema Pera: she didn't bring a laptop
Bleu Oleander: say hi to her
    Pema Pera: will do!
Agatha Macbeth: Hello Darren, sit on my lap  :)
Eden Haiku: Ah, say hello to her.Waving to Eliza wildly!

    --- bell ---
    Eos Amaterasu: Mick!
    Mickorod Renard: Hi Guys

Gaya Ethaniel: Yes thanks Mick, nice to see you  :)
    Miss Composer: lol
    Miss Composer: no
    Agatha Macbeth: Shame, nice place
    Miss Composer: yeah
Miss Composer: i dont get on with mart
genesis Zhangsun: How do you Gaya and Wol feel this week, not being able to attend the retreat?
Agatha Macbeth: If you like pink deserts, that is
    Miss Composer: ians though
    Wol Euler: pretty sad actually
    Gaya Ethaniel: -.-
    Wol Euler: (to gen)
Wol Euler: I'd been looking forward to it greatly.
genesis Zhangsun: yeah I can understand
genesis Zhangsun: is there anything specific the two of you would like to know about the retreat?
genesis Zhangsun: themes, questions, being explored?
    Wol Euler: only everything  :)
Miss Composer: ill be back in 10 mins
    Gaya Ethaniel:  :)
    genesis Zhangsun:  :)
Agatha Macbeth: Beam her up Scotty...
    SophiaSharon Larnia: yes, themes, Genesis?
Wol Euler: how and where do you meet?
Wol Euler: are there cushions? is there noise?
Darren Islar: and most of all a tast of the atmosphere
Eos Amaterasu: Pema has a suite, plenty of room for 5 people
genesis Zhangsun: we meet from 9am-12pm and 8-9pm in the evenings, leaving the afternoons more open
    Eos Amaterasu: Japanese flavor
genesis Zhangsun: no cushions, no noise
Pema Pera: we sit on chairs, sometimes on the ground when we take a practice break
    arabella Ella: sofas?
Pema Pera: yes and chairs, both
    arabella Ella: carpets?
genesis Zhangsun: well a little bit of noise occasionally but nothing like ambulances and jack hammers
    Pema Pera: not *that* urban!
    SophiaSharon Larnia: smiles
genesis Zhangsun: as for themes we have been exploring various themes, one being "How to Play as Being"
Pema Pera: in RL as well as SL
genesis Zhangsun: along with the usual, that little "what is reality ?" thing
    Wol Euler:  :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia:  :)
arabella Ella: how did you combine the hotel with RL outdside hotel ... the urban element?
Pema Pera: we also proposed to have a theme session, a week from Sunday, at 1 pm, about "how to play as Being" -- as a question
    SophiaSharon Larnia: great!
    Bleu Oleander: great
Pema Pera: oh, walking, talking, having a good time, Arabella, very naturally
Agatha Macbeth makes a note in her diary
Pema Pera: actually pretty much like in Malta
Pema Pera: when we went out for shopping getting almond cookies!!
genesis Zhangsun: and beforehand each of us who were here will write our account of how we "play as being"
    Wol Euler grins
genesis Zhangsun: and encourage others to write reports about their own experiences
    arabella Ella: sounds lovely!
Pema Pera: One of the explorations we did was suggested by Genesis: while walking around in the city viewing the city life landscape as a kind of "nature" in its own right
    Wol Euler nods
genesis Zhangsun: with "playing as being": what is it that people are doing behind the screens, their thoughts, intentions, in engaging with our participants, what we feel are the core principles, the "code" (loose and informal) about ways of behaving, holding space for discussions
genesis Zhangsun: *other instead of our
    Eos Amaterasu: (during sessions)
genesis Zhangsun: essentially about how we make play as being sessions a part of our practice
    Wol Euler: hello arch
    Pema Pera: hi Arch!
    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Archmage  :)
    Darren Islar: hi arch
    genesis Zhangsun: hi arch!
    Qt Core: Hi Archmage
    Agatha Macbeth: Yo Archie
    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Arch

    Agatha Macbeth: And hello Stormy
    Pema Pera: hi Storm!
    Qt Core: Hi Storm
    Storm Nordwind: Hi there all
    Bleu Oleander: hi Storm
    Eden Haiku: Hi Storm.
    Scathach Rhiadra: Hello Storm
    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Storm  :)
    Wol Euler: hello storm
    --- bell ---
Maxine Walden: (have to slip out, bye for now)
Wol Euler: bye maxine, take care
Darren Islar: Eden is not lucky today
    arabella Ella: bye Maxine
    Mickorod Renard: ayup Arch, Storm
    Mickorod Renard: bye Max
    Darren Islar: hi Zen
    Zen Arado: Hi all
    arabella Ella: Hi Zen
    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Zen  :)
arabella Ella: Oh did you have a silent day?
    Agatha Macbeth: Evenin' Zen
    Zon Quar: heya
    Pema Pera: not really, Ara
    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Zon  :)
    Agatha Macbeth: And zon
Zon Quar: boy this is full
Wol Euler: hello zen and zon
Pema Pera: there were so few of us, that we decided to simply limit ourselves to more functional talk
    Darren Islar: hi zon
Mickorod Renard: hi Zon and Zen
Agatha Macbeth: All helps the lag  :)
    Zen Arado: Hi Zon:)
SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi everyone who arrived  :)
Pema Pera: rather than stricly being silent
    Bleu Oleander: hiZen, Zon
Pema Pera: One of the pleasures of the retreat was to hear that pithy one-liners by Eos  :-)
    arabella Ella: yes
    genesis Zhangsun:  :)
Qt Core: maybe even more intense as in having to chose if and how to speak
    arabella Ella:  :)
    Gaya Ethaniel:  :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: example? ^^
Pema Pera: yes, Qt, very much so!
genesis Zhangsun: Eos? would you like to share  :)
arabella Ella: so none of you could get 'lost in the crowd' i guess
Eos Amaterasu: the days here have been very vivid: the occasional rain clearing the air
Archmage Atlantis: Yes Eos, I would like that
Pema Pera: (that is an eos koan perhaps: rain clearing the air?)
    Wol Euler: wb eden
    Gaya Ethaniel: wb  :)
    Darren Islar: wb
    Eos Amaterasu: (Johnny Nash)
    Agatha Macbeth: Johnny Nash?
    arabella Ella: ??
Agatha Macbeth: Taers on my pillow?
Eos Amaterasu: "I can see clearly now, the rain has gone..."
    Zen Arado: Hi Eden:)
    Eden Haiku:  :)
Agatha Macbeth: Or even tears on my pillow
    arabella Ella:  :)
Zen Arado: thought that was 'Johnny come lately'
Eos Amaterasu: we landed in the middle of cherry blossom festival
Archmage Atlantis: Oh, how cannot I comment
Pema Pera: and we visited the church of St John Coltraine
    Wol Euler: ooooh
Eos Amaterasu: Orthodox Church of Saint John Coltrane
Eden Haiku: You posted a beautiful picture of the cherry blossoms Eos, so you are having a fragrant retreat?
Eos Amaterasu: "a love supreme, a love supreme"
Wol Euler: were you all humming "A love supreme"?
    Wol Euler: yes!
    Wol Euler: hehehehhe
Agatha Macbeth hears a sax playing
    Pema Pera: http://www.coltranechurch.org/
Archmage Atlantis: None of us see with clarity
Eos Amaterasu: the church is more popular in europe than in North Am, Wol
Pema Pera: and then we met Edna Love
Wol Euler: what was that about prophets and homelands?
    Agatha Macbeth:  :)
Pema Pera: as for Edna Love: http://www.bayareabooking.com/band_edna.htm
genesis Zhangsun: apparently if you are wearing a church of john c t-shirt in Europe you will fall in with all the right people, or so we have been told
Eos Amaterasu: And we heard/saw Edna Love doing blues music at a bar Gen recommended
Agatha Macbeth: Must remember to get one
Eos Amaterasu: (will post photo of Gen and Edna)
    SophiaSharon Larnia:  :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Whoa
Eden Haiku: Listening to "I feel good"...
Agatha Macbeth: I knew that you would  :)
genesis Zhangsun: very unretreat like photo, I am smoking a menthol cigarette (hadn't smoked on of those in years)
    Pema Pera: really urban !!
Eden Haiku: A menthol cigarette, I remember how bad it tastes!
Pema Pera: getting all the gossip while standing outside . . .
Eos Amaterasu: we were more restrained when we unwittingly joined thousands in Golden Gate park celebrating 420 day
    genesis Zhangsun: lol!
    SophiaSharon Larnia: wow
    --- bell ---
    Agatha Macbeth: What's 420 day?
Wol Euler: oh, remind me what 420 is?
    SophiaSharon Larnia: earth day?
    Eos Amaterasu: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/420_(cannabis_culture)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: ohhh oops ;p
    Wol Euler: ah  :)
arabella Ella: what is 420 day?
    Storm Nordwind: Hitler's birthday?
    arabella Ella: he he
Eos Amaterasu: we also were present in a smaller part for Earth Day, yesterday
    Eos Amaterasu: *park
    Agatha Macbeth grins broadly
Eden Haiku: Ah yes, smoking pot all over the world on the 20th of April...
    Agatha Macbeth: Hey man
Pema Pera wondering what happened with the 90 sec breaks . . . . .
    Bleu Oleander: smoke breaks
    Agatha Macbeth: Me too
SophiaSharon Larnia: (soory so laggy i couldn't see it)
Eden Haiku: Did not heat the bell as I was listening to Edna...sorry.
    Eden Haiku: *hear
    Agatha Macbeth: Hear hear
genesis Zhangsun: i have never seen so many varieities of marijuana outside of maybe amsterdam
    Pema Pera:  :)
    Wol Euler grins.
Pema Pera: we got a lot of second hand smoke, for sure!
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah, Amsterdam...
Eden Haiku: Tried them all Gen?;))
Pema Pera: we were forced too . . .
arabella Ella: Ah you are accustomed to Amsterdam Pema
    genesis Zhangsun:  :)
Agatha Macbeth: Well what else would you expect in SF?
    Pema Pera: well, yes  :)
Eos Amaterasu: We had dinner at Magnolia restaurant near the Haight district: Pema drank beer siphoned directly from the basement brewerey
    Pema Pera: using a long straw . . . .
    Eden Haiku:  ;)
Eos Amaterasu: One lunch time we were given a plate with a little bunny image in the middle  :-)  ;-(
    Pema Pera: http://www.magnoliapub.com/index.html
    Wol Euler: yes!"
Wol Euler: I saw the photo, that was great.
    Gaya Ethaniel:  :)
    Agatha Macbeth is over-cuted
Eos Amaterasu: Gaya did make it, ulta-virtually
Eden Haiku: So you are there virtually Gaya!
    arabella Ella: a bunny ... at Hef's ... ehrm ....
    Agatha Macbeth: :)))
Gaya Ethaniel: I guessed it was lunch ... I was at my tai chi class and felt a bit weird  :)
Eos Amaterasu: not that kind of bunny
Agatha Macbeth: Give 'im a carrot!
    arabella Ella: ah .... sigh

    Zen Arado: Hi Ari:)
    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Arisia  :)
    arabella Ella: Hiya Ari!
    Bleu Oleander: hi Arisia

Archmage Atlantis: What would the Athenien Socrate tell you?
Zen Arado: could you elaborate Eos?

    Wol Euler grins
Agatha Macbeth: Well actually, I just did...
Zen Arado: hurts my delicate feelings  :)
    Agatha Macbeth bows in apology
SophiaSharon Larnia: Oh my ears and whiskers, how late it's getting!
    Agatha Macbeth: Meep Meep   ;P :p:P :p :P
    Wol Euler:  :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: bye for now all :))
Wol Euler: 'night sharon, take care
    Zen Arado: bye Sharon
Agatha Macbeth: Bye Sharon, take care
    SophiaSharon Larnia: ~waves~
    Sartre Placebo: night ssl
    arabella Ella: bye SSL
arabella Ella: I think your shirt looks nice Zen and there is no hard and fast rule about colour and gender after all is there?
    Agatha Macbeth: Course not...
Wol Euler: agreed on both counts.
Zen Arado: yes aga is living in the past  :)
    --- bell ---
Agatha Macbeth: Call me Dr Who
Zen Arado: I am a new man  :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: dr who ? or you mean just ,,the doctor" ?
arabella Ella: Well ... and no offense Aga ... were the Brits ever experts .... nuf said ...
    Agatha Macbeth: No
Zen Arado: gender and clothing hmmmmm
    Agatha Macbeth: Hmmmmmmm
Zen Arado: we do have to stick to conventions though
    Agatha Macbeth: Do we?
Zen Arado: you won;t see me in a mini
    Agatha Macbeth: I don't
arabella Ella: well italian males can be very elegant and many wear pink shirts which look good
    Archmage Atlantis: I hope not
Wol Euler: perhaps phrase that as "it's odd how we do stick to conventions"
Zen Arado: yes but women can wear what they want
Agatha Macbeth: Though you wouldn't see me dressed like this in RL  ;-)
    Wol Euler raises an eyebrow.
Archmage Atlantis: This has never been
Wol Euler: well, no, nor I  :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Not outdoors anyway
Zen Arado: they can wear suits and trousers
arabella Ella: would it not be nice if we were as free to wear what we like in RL as we do here
Zen Arado: males can't wear dresses
    Agatha Macbeth: Er...
arabella Ella: many males in the world wear skirts ... scots, arabs, indians, etc
Wol Euler raises the other eyebrow
Zen Arado: don't want to either ( he said hastrily)
    arabella Ella: david beckham
Agatha Macbeth: Well there ya go
Zen Arado: ok but special cases of 'dresses'
arabella Ella: females tho tend not to have hair cropped like males ... or shaved rather
    Yakuzza Lethecus: night everyone
    Yakuzza Lethecus is Offline
    arabella Ella: nite Yaku
    Wol Euler: bye yaku
    Zen Arado: nite Yaku
    Agatha Macbeth: Gute Nacht Yaku
    Zen Arado: Buddhist nuns do
Wol Euler: why do other people care what our gender is?
    Agatha Macbeth: Do what?
Zen Arado: have their hair cropped
Archmage Atlantis: I am goinhg to get in touble for this
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh
Wol Euler: why should anyone care, when looking at me, whether I am male or female?
    arabella Ella: true
arabella Ella: we are persons first and foremost
Wol Euler: unless they feel that, were I female, they would have some rights over my body or my mind
Zen Arado: we have subtle rules of behaviour
Agatha Macbeth: Perhaps we can bring this up at the workshop Wol
    Wol Euler: indeed we will!
    arabella Ella: the workshop?
Agatha Macbeth is looking forward to it
Archmage Atlantis: But I am totallly gay, and my male partner in SL is female......
Zen Arado: having an alt raises these issues for me
Zen Arado: a female one that is
Wol Euler: I'll be hostbeing-ing a workshop on the SL-ness of SL starting this summer
    Agatha Macbeth: That's confusing Arch
arabella Ella: thanks Wol sounds interesting!
Wol Euler: perhaps it points to something essential: that we are attracted to persons, not to flesh.
Archmage Atlantis: Yes, Agatha, it is
Wol Euler: and SL reveals this.
Agatha Macbeth: But fun tho, I'll bet
    aurel Miles is Offline
Zen Arado: we know that Arch
arabella Ella: could it be that we are attracted to persons but some cultural conventions may create constraints depending on context ... or is that stupid?
Archmage Atlantis: It has been public Zen, yes
Wol Euler: it is stupid, but it's true, ara. that is exactly the point  :)
    Wol Euler: IMHO YMMV
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes, it's stupid
    arabella Ella nods
Zen Arado: we should be free to be how we want
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: we can practice that here.
Zen Arado: without society frowning on it
arabella Ella: that is part of the beauty of SL
arabella Ella: the freedom it allows us
Zen Arado: but we still have conventions we can't get out of
arabella Ella: well it is us as individuals who sometimes bring conventions from RL to SL
Storm Nordwind: And we still like to give ourselves a structure
Archmage Atlantis: Zen, we create our own prisons
    Agatha Macbeth nods to Arch
Zen Arado: well I don't want to have sex in public
Zen Arado: is that a prison?
Zen Arado: it would offend others
Agatha Macbeth: Glad to haer it Zen  ;-)
Zen Arado: so you see we still have to have some conventions
Agatha Macbeth: At your age it could be fatal ;p
Zen Arado: no such thing as freedom in the end
Archmage Atlantis: And to "come out" of them is not always the way the movies portray them
    Zen Arado:  :)
Storm Nordwind: It depends, Zen, on whether you are attached to that 'want'. My guess is that you probably aren't!  :)
Zen Arado: our distant ancestors probably did  :)
Zen Arado: then we grew ashamed
arabella Ella: not so distant Zen ... not too long ago you would find whole families living in one room and still procreating
Zen Arado: that's when we were expelled fro the Garden of Eden you know  :)
    Wol Euler: right
    Wol Euler: for feeling shame
Wol Euler: not for eating apples
Wol Euler: shame is unworthy of hte company of angels.
arabella Ella: you are only talking about your culture Zen
Storm Nordwind: But we're back there now  :)
    --- bell ---
arabella Ella: Germany is one example of a different attitude there
Arisia Vita: Eve would have been better advised to eat the snake instead of the apple
Archmage Atlantis: Excuse me, but we were never expelled, only given more responsibility
    Arisia Vita: or Adam
Agatha Macbeth: The Ophites believed the Serpent represented wisdom
Storm Nordwind: Shame is an unnecessary fantasy, a phantasm with only the reaality we personally give it
    Agatha Macbeth: Not shame
    Wol Euler nods to storm
Zen Arado: but isn't shame societally induced
Wol Euler: shame is letting other people run your life
    Storm Nordwind nods to Wol
Wol Euler: without them even needing to take action
Zen Arado: when we feel bad for transgressing its standards
Agatha Macbeth: And at the end of the day you'll die anyway, so who cares?
    Zen Arado: shame
Storm Nordwind: I'll change what Wol said ever so slightly: "shame is letting other people ruin your life"
    Wol Euler: ha, yes.
    Zen Arado: nods
Wol Euler: giving htem a watering can with which to rain on your parade
Archmage Atlantis: I have to say what is for mel..shame is knowig were other inone's life differs
Zen Arado: I think we forget just how constrained we are by the consensus reality of others
Zen Arado: and backed up by the law
arabella Ella: well doesn't shame involve both guilt and embarassement by others?
Zen Arado: because we break certain rules
Wol Euler: shame to me means feeling htat I do not live up to a standard imposed by others
Storm Nordwind: Modern society is run by these emotions: fear, shame and guilt, and the song of attachment (not love) on the radio. It is so easy to manipulate whole nations and cultures this way. It's a tough personal decision to break free and stay free.
    Wol Euler nods strongly
Zen Arado: but we impose the feeling on ourselves
Agatha Macbeth: Shame is something you usually feel after you enjoyed yourself  ;-)
    Wol Euler: why, though?
    arabella Ella: that's guilt Aga
    arabella Ella: not shame
Storm Nordwind: Not shame but stupidity!  ;)
arabella Ella: like eating too many chocolates
    Agatha Macbeth: Both fun tho...
Zen Arado: thinking about conscience - never hear that word much nowadays
    Agatha Macbeth: Jiminy Cricket
    Zen Arado: guilty conscience
    Zen Arado: there's more
    Zen Arado:  :)
Storm Nordwind: If you are fully conscious, why do you need conscience?
Wol Euler: a bodhisattva would not need one
Zen Arado: cos I'm not  :)
Archmage Atlantis: Well as a gay man, trying to be in relaition ship
    Storm Nordwind nods to Wol
Zen Arado: conscience need learned rules ?
Wol Euler: conscience is the internalized parent, disciplining the inner child
    Wol Euler: say more, arch?
Zen Arado: yes with rigid rules that must not be broken
    Archmage Atlantis: pot coment
Storm Nordwind waves to the pleasant group and slips back to his guardian plot
Agatha Macbeth: Did I start all this by mentioning your shirt Zen?
    arabella Ella: bye Storm
    Zen Arado: bye Storm
    Agatha Macbeth: Bye Storm
Wol Euler: bye storm, take care.
    Wol Euler: enjoy your mountain
    Zen Arado: yep
    Agatha Macbeth: 'Climb every mountain'
    Agatha Macbeth: Wow
Zen Arado: have to watch what you say to me Aga  :)
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe I should keep quiet in future
Zen Arado: or you get a long diatrube
    Archmage Atlantis: Storm?
    Zen Arado: or diatribe even
Agatha Macbeth: Can't beat a long diatrube
    Zen Arado:  :)
Wol Euler: this was fun, why should we have avoided it?
    Archmage Atlantis: I am old
Zen Arado: better than a monologue?
Agatha Macbeth: i think we all are Arch
Arisia Vita: old is in the mind?
    Arisia Vita: as is young?
Wol Euler: none of us are kids any more
Agatha Macbeth: Dunno about Ara tho, so I'll shut up
    arabella Ella:  :)
    arabella Ella: just listening
arabella Ella: wont speak about age tho ...
Arisia Vita: There was an old owl who lived in an oak,
    The more he heard, the less he spoke;
The less he spoke, the more he heard,
Now wasn't that a wise old bird.
    Agatha Macbeth: Sure was  :)
    Zen Arado: true
Agatha Macbeth: Only came out at night too
Zen Arado: but he never had much fun  :)
Archmage Atlantis: Ari, you stayed., ..high 5 dude
    --- bell ---
Arisia Vita: Perhaps the owl is the better judge of his fun than you Zen?
Agatha Macbeth: Hey Zen, where did the symmetry go?
Wol Euler: oh, it's long gone  :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Nads
Zen Arado: wiser is not necessarily happier
Zen Arado: though it helps maybe
    Zen Arado: what symmetry?
    Agatha Macbeth: Exactly
Zen Arado: I like Nasrudin stories
    Wol Euler smiles
Zen Arado: he was always a 'fool'
arabella Ella: well Zen some ppl here like us to sit in a sort of pattern ... and tonite it was only mad patterns not symmetric at all
    Zen Arado: ah I see
Wol Euler: but a very clever one, zen
    Zen Arado: exactly Wol
Zen Arado: perhaps you have to learn to be a fool
    Wol Euler nods
    Zen Arado: like me
Agatha Macbeth: Perhaps you have to be a fool to learn
Wol Euler: "Where did you learn that, Fool?" "Not in the stocks, fool"
    Wol Euler: (King Lear)
Agatha Macbeth: Where is he now?
Wol Euler: long dead, as is his master
    Agatha Macbeth: So it goes
    Wol Euler nods.
Agatha Macbeth: Yaku gets all the good logs to edit
    Wol Euler: heheheheh
Agatha Macbeth: Bet nobody turns up for me later
    Wol Euler: at 7pm?
    Agatha Macbeth: mmm
arabella Ella: how do you manage to stay up so late Aga
Agatha Macbeth: No-one came last week
    Wol Euler: yeah, really
    Agatha Macbeth shrugs
Wol Euler: not just you, aggers
Wol Euler: I sat alone this morning too
    arabella Ella: owwwww
    Agatha Macbeth: Two weeks running?
Zen Arado: happens often to me too
arabella Ella: so do you reckon this is the busiest slot for PaB?
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
    Agatha Macbeth: 1300? Sure
Wol Euler: the 1pms are reliable
Agatha Macbeth: I'll find out from next Tuesday...
arabella Ella: possible as they combine the two main continents
    Zen Arado: yes I agree
Agatha Macbeth: It's the time that's most convenient for most people
Agatha Macbeth: Not too late for the europeans, not too early for the North Americans
    Wol Euler nods.
arabella Ella: i find it surprising tho that most europeans come on line evenings while americans seem to come on line quite a lot daytime too
Zen Arado: wonder about that too
Wol Euler: ah, that's because we work harder than they do  :)
    arabella Ella: probably
    Wol Euler giggles
Agatha Macbeth: I was going to say perhaps they have more leisure time
    arabella Ella:  :)
Zen Arado: it's ok for me since I am retired
Zen Arado: well in theory I am
arabella Ella: are you on linee a lot during the day Zen?
Zen Arado: I sometimes go to the 7am meetings
Zen Arado: because that is 3 pm for me
    arabella Ella: ah ok
arabella Ella: yes i just did the calculation
Zen Arado: but I also like to paint in the afternoons
arabella Ella: yes? what do you paint?
Agatha Macbeth: I sometimes go to the 0700s when I'm off work
    Zen Arado: abstracts atm
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello Picasso
    Wol Euler looks around curiously.
arabella Ella: ah ... cool ... watercolour?
    Zen Arado: http://www.flickr.com/photos/jjhtaylor/
Zen Arado: ha ha you gave me an opening there
    Wol Euler: nice colours
    arabella Ella: well why not!
arabella Ella: yes lovely the blues and pale yellows
Zen Arado: I like colour and texture
    --- bell ---
    Agatha Macbeth: Wow Zen, vivid
Wol Euler: "Play" looks like an exploded Donald Duck  :)
Wol Euler: (in a nice way)
    Eden Haiku is Online
Zen Arado: every one says it is a clown
    Zen Arado: or a juggler
Play as Being 15 minute bell: Thank you.
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello Mr Rorschach
    arabella Ella: Lotus is lovely
Wol Euler: do you know a 1950's painter called Jean-Paul Riopelle, from Montreal?
    Zen Arado: sorry no
Wol Euler: look him up, you'd like his work
    Zen Arado: why?
    Zen Arado: ok
Wol Euler: moonburst and "green and red" remind me of him
Wol Euler: um, btw, you realize that you've just put your RL name in the log, Zen?
Agatha Macbeth: Do us a Jackson Pollock zen, but drive carefully  :)
Zen Arado: lots of traditinal paintings there too
Zen Arado: does that matter ?
Wol Euler: it does if it matters to you  :)
arabella Ella: Zen has put in links which lead to his RL name on other occasions too
Wol Euler: sorry, I am in "mother hen" mode
    Agatha Macbeth: (As usual)
Wol Euler steps back and minds her own business
    arabella Ella:  :)
Zen Arado: my Flickr page is public too
Zen Arado: what are the dangers Wol?
Agatha Macbeth: I was gonna ask too
arabella Ella: did you go to classes Zen or are you self taught?
Wol Euler: no danger, really, just that some people like to keep the worlds separate (points to self)
Zen Arado: I did go to many teachers when I started
Zen Arado: no I am not bothered about that
    arabella Ella: ah
Zen Arado: what is the term for that?
    Zen Arado: used to know
    Wol Euler: "blissful"?
    Zen Arado:  :)
arabella Ella: the term for what?
Zen Arado: for whether you keep SL and RL separate or not
    Zen Arado: integrationists or something
    Agatha Macbeth: Personal choice?
    Wol Euler: segregationist
Zen Arado: ah - notice my need for classifications
arabella Ella: i dunno ... i know there are immersionists but that is something else
    Wol Euler: inner apartheid
    Zen Arado: yes that's it
    Zen Arado: ah yes immersionists
arabella Ella: but arent they people who totally immerse themselves in SL?
Wol Euler: good, I'll add those terms to the list of topics for the workshop
Zen Arado: I never could keep the two separate
Zen Arado: unless I never talked
    arabella Ella: neither could i
    Wol Euler: why?
Zen Arado: pretty hard for me  :)
arabella Ella: difficult for me too
Zen Arado: soon as I meet ppl I start to tell them about myself
Zen Arado: but I don't know many from RL in SL
Zen Arado: that could be tricky
Zen Arado: I have a friend who comes in here who hasn't told his partner he does
Zen Arado: told me to keep quiet about it
Agatha Macbeth: The SL/RL thing is an intersesting dichotomy
    Wol Euler raises an eyebrow.
arabella Ella: i am sure there are many on SL who keep it a secret from their partners
Zen Arado: yes - I hate that kind of secrecy
arabella Ella: i empathise and understand it may be inevitable
Agatha Macbeth: I don't have one, so no worries
    Wol Euler: awwww
arabella Ella: i dont have one either Aga ... he he
Agatha Macbeth: Ain't it great? :))
arabella Ella: oh yes nothing better than independence
Wol Euler: you wouldn't be staying up until 4am if you did,
Zen Arado: keep them out I say
    Agatha Macbeth: True
Agatha Macbeth: Do what you want when you want...
arabella Ella: i can just imagine some conversations ... how long are you gonna be on that f....ing laptop ... he he
    Agatha Macbeth: Hmm
    Zen Arado: yes  :)
    Wol Euler: mmhm
Wol Euler: unless the partner is in SL too
    arabella Ella: (cut from log?)
Wol Euler: well, we could turn it off
Agatha Macbeth: 'The quiet joys of solitude' as Sandy Denny said
Agatha Macbeth: Oh, when did Arch leave?
    --- bell ---
Agatha Macbeth: Didn't see him go..
    arabella Ella: neither did i
    Zen Arado: Ari went too
Agatha Macbeth: He said goodbye to me in IM  :)
    Zen Arado: me too
    arabella Ella: me too
    Wol Euler: me too
Zen Arado: he does that  :)
Agatha Macbeth: Cute guy, but strange  :)
Zen Arado: and I though I was special  :)
    arabella Ella:  :)
Agatha Macbeth: You *are* special Zen!
Agatha Macbeth: You're a better bloody artist than me for a start
    Wol Euler:  :)
Zen Arado: specialness is ust ego
    Zen Arado: ust
    arabella Ella: lost your 'J'
Agatha Macbeth: Et in Arcadio Ego
Zen Arado: drat this bloody 'j'key
    Agatha Macbeth grins
    Agatha Macbeth: Windoze kb's eh?
    Zen Arado: ?
    Zen Arado: ah windows keyboards
    Agatha Macbeth: Yep
    Zen Arado: Toshiba keyboard
Agatha Macbeth: Never seemed to get so many typos on my A4000  :)
    Wol Euler: heheheheh
Zen Arado: well my Spectrum wasn't great:)
    arabella Ella: hehe
Wol Euler: I make more mistakes on this winbox than on my macs
Agatha Macbeth: Oh, I remember the Spectrum
Zen Arado: with its Tasword Two
Agatha Macbeth: You turned it upside down and all the keys fell off
    arabella Ella: he he
    Agatha Macbeth: Good old Clive
Agatha Macbeth: Where is he now?
arabella Ella: i think he has a wiki page ... he is still around
Wol Euler: I've been trying to remember the name of my first computer. It was book sized, about an inch thick, black rubber
    Agatha Macbeth: Erk
Wol Euler: with a five line 80 character display above the keyboard
arabella Ella: mine was the Amstrad
Agatha Macbeth: It would be  :)
arabella Ella: not the Olivetti Wol?
    Agatha Macbeth: How long ago?
    Wol Euler: middle 80's
Zen Arado: maybe a ZX 80
    Agatha Macbeth:  :)
Wol Euler: I don't think it was an olivetti, but the graphic style was similar
Zen Arado: forerunner of the Spectrum
Wol Euler: no, not like thtat
Wol Euler: black rubber, A4 size by an inch thick
Wol Euler: damn, what was it called?
    Agatha Macbeth: Hm
Zen Arado: uh oh going to crash
    arabella Ella: 0s
arabella Ella: owwww not sure what is happening to my chat tonite
    Zen Arado: funny colours
arabella Ella: i wrote A4 size sounds small for 80s
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe it's Maltese Ara?
    arabella Ella: maybe jista jkun
    Agatha Macbeth: Could be
    Wol Euler: there we are!
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah
    Wol Euler: z88
    Wol Euler: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cambridge_Z88
Agatha Macbeth: So it was a Sinclair one?
arabella Ella: looks more like a largeish calculator
Wol Euler: yes, made by Clive
Wol Euler: but after Sinclair (the company) went broke
Agatha Macbeth: Should have guessed when you said rubber..
    Wol Euler:  :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Z80 based eh
arabella Ella: do they actually sell the old computers on the german site you gave the link for Wol?
Agatha Macbeth: Surely that must have been out at the same time as the QL then?
    Agatha Macbeth: Bye Zen!
Wol Euler: I don't think they do, ara
    Wol Euler: wb zen
    Agatha Macbeth: wb Zen
    arabella Ella: ok
    --- bell ---
Agatha Macbeth: Damn, we've been here 2.5 hours
    Wol Euler:  :)
Agatha Macbeth: Yaku's gonna love us
Wol Euler waves to Yaku who has a very long log to edit
Agatha Macbeth: What is it about Friday nights?
    Agatha Macbeth: onigokko
    arabella Ella giggles
    Agatha Macbeth: stop
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah, yes...
Zen Arado: I have a veresion that grows a tail
arabella Ella: hey symmetry at last!!!!
    Agatha Macbeth: ?? Zen
Wol Euler: there are invisible ones, would you like a copy?
    Zen Arado: oni gokko shippo
    Agatha Macbeth: Invisible what?
    Wol Euler: onigokkos
Zen Arado: no I have the other one too
    Agatha Macbeth is puzzled
Zen Arado: wonderd where I got a tail from one noght
Agatha Macbeth: Are they not all invisible?
    arabella Ella: no
Wol Euler: nope, some appear as a long pink tail
Zen Arado: cos it stayed on after music finished
    Zen Arado: yes
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah, like Lia's?
Wol Euler: you were wearing hte other, zen
Wol Euler: yes, hers is that time
    Wol Euler: type
    Agatha Macbeth: Hm
Zen Arado: would go with my shirt then  :)
    Agatha Macbeth: The Pink Panther
Zen Arado: funny the way I ma crashing lately
Agatha Macbeth: Does it happen often Zen?
Zen Arado: I get all these blocks of colours weaving about first
Zen Arado: it seems to be happening here inpab
    Agatha Macbeth: Graphic card issues?
Wol Euler: ah, that means that hte graphics hardward is crapping out
arabella Ella: i used to get those on my previous laptop ... graphic card
Wol Euler: look for a driver update on the manufacturer's website
Zen Arado: I upgraded to win 7 lately
Wol Euler: which version of w7? 32 bit or 64 bit?
Zen Arado: maybe I need to upgrade the graphics driver
    Zen Arado: 32
Agatha Macbeth: Did you upgrade your drivers recently?
Wol Euler: you should definitely look for a newer driver, yes
arabella Ella: the regular SL site gives recommendations for graphic cards
Agatha Macbeth: I'll stick with Vista for the time being
Zen Arado: no but might need to for win 7
Wol Euler: my dears, I shall have to get to bed.
arabella Ella: i need some sleep too
Wol Euler: it's been real, as they usd to say
    arabella Ella: nite everyone
Agatha Macbeth: Bye for now Wol
Wol Euler: goodnight all, enjoy your weekends
Agatha Macbeth: I must go too
    Zen Arado: bye Wol
