    SophiaSharon Larnia: HI Mick
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh, why?
    Mickorod Renard: Hiya Guys
Wol Euler: we put all kinds of links into the log, but if it makes you uncomfortable we'll take it out
    Agatha Macbeth: Seems a shame
SophiaSharon Larnia: its not a comfort thing, i just think ive gotten a bit off track here in pab, which brings me to that thought, well, what are trying to DO then, and isnt trying not the point and etc so forth
Agatha Macbeth is not sure what you mean by 'comfort' Shaz?
SophiaSharon Larnia: anyway, that didnt make sense, maybe i should take my time when I type

SophiaSharon Larnia: I think maybe someone was patiently waiting for me to type more, sorry
Darren Islar: to me, non of the above
    SophiaSharon Larnia: grins
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah well
Mickorod Renard: nor me,,I just thought Ihad crashed
Mickorod Renard: cos i typed something and it didnt show
Darren Islar: sometimes there is silence
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh
Agatha Macbeth: Type it again Mick
Mickorod Renard: I have forgot what it was now
    Agatha Macbeth: Aww ;P
Wol Euler whistles "as time goes by<"
Darren Islar: what silence can do :_)
Agatha Macbeth: Play it again Sam
Mickorod Renard: it was proberbly something to do with fluffy animals
Agatha Macbeth: (He never said that)
    Wol Euler: or diapers
    Agatha Macbeth: Eh?
    Mickorod Renard: yea
Wol Euler: (never said that either)
SophiaSharon Larnia: have you heard the term comedy of errors?
SophiaSharon Larnia: (im sure you have)
    Mickorod Renard: yes
SophiaSharon Larnia: that was my day today :D
Agatha Macbeth certainly doesn't remember Humphrey Bogart saying 'diapers'
SophiaSharon Larnia: its funny until its happening to you
Mickorod Renard: wow,,I had one yesterday
SophiaSharon Larnia: got me a little frizzle frazzled
Agatha Macbeth: Heard it? I live it
    SophiaSharon Larnia: giggles
    Mickorod Renard: he he

    --BELL--

    SophiaSharon Larnia: (brb)
    Agatha Macbeth nods
    Mickorod Renard: (brp)
Wol Euler: oh hello zon, didn't see you arrive
    Zon Quar: hi, im here
Agatha Macbeth: He used stealth ;-)
    Wol Euler: apparently
    Agatha Macbeth: Indubitably
    Zon Quar: u never know
    arabella Ella: Hiya!
    Mickorod Renard: hi Ara
    Zon Quar: ara ㋡
    Agatha Macbeth: Evenin'Ara :)
    Wol Euler: hello ara
    Darren Islar: hi Ara
    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Ara
    arabella Ella: quiet here tonight?
    Zon Quar: mm
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, I think Khayyam set the tone ;-)
    SophiaSharon Larnia likes silence
Agatha Macbeth: Silence has its place, certainly
Zon Quar: thats waht is so nice in music
    Zon Quar: the pauses
SophiaSharon Larnia: but thinks, maybe that isnt what we come here for :)
Wol Euler: "music is the wine that fills the cup of silence" Robert Fripp
    SophiaSharon Larnia: lovely
arabella Ella: oh so you probably had some 'frowns' tonight ... he he
    Darren Islar: :-)
Agatha Macbeth: He should stick to playing his guitar
Zon Quar: no, it reveals the silnce
Darren Islar: maybe silence is a good topic
    Agatha Macbeth: 'Enjoy the silence'
Zon Quar: let talk about silense, lol
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes, i can't seem to stop talking about it
    Agatha Macbeth: Aw
Darren Islar: we seem to have the urge to break silence
arabella Ella: some silence is nice as life today is too noisy
Darren Islar: so we better talk about it
Zon Quar: in some cultures it is more difficult to be silnet than in others
Wol Euler: in German, it's an active verb. "I silented"
Wol Euler: as though it took effort
    Darren Islar: nice
    Agatha Macbeth grins
Zon Quar: in some cultures it is polit to be silent, in some it is an inslut
    Zon Quar: polite
Darren Islar: I guess silence can be an acitivity
arabella Ella: could you say that in German Wol pls?
    Wol Euler: ich schwieg
    Wol Euler: (schweigen)
    Agatha Macbeth: Cultural stuff, yes
    arabella Ella: ah ... interesting
    Darren Islar: ik zwijg
SophiaSharon Larnia: what culture is it an insult Zon, so I can hopefully remember?
    Wol Euler: heh, yes
    Darren Islar: you'r right
    Darren Islar: didn't realise that
Wol Euler: the North Sea languages have a common root :)
Zon Quar: in many southern european
    SophiaSharon Larnia: ty :)
arabella Ella: well in the Med where I am ppl are expected to fill in all the conversation gaps with 'noise' and chatter
    Agatha Macbeth: West Germanic
    arabella Ella: so yes Zon
Zon Quar: if u dont talk, u r considered rude
    Wol Euler: hello steve
    SophiaSharon Larnia: ooh
    arabella Ella: exactly Zon
    Mickorod Renard: the library culture
    stevenaia Michinaga: happy day
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Steve
    Agatha Macbeth: Hiya Stevie
    arabella Ella: Hiya Steve
    Mickorod Renard: hi Steve
    Darren Islar: hi Steve
    Zon Quar: steve
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, I always find it strange how some people feel threatened by silence
Darren Islar: we again filled a part of the log with all our 'hi's' :-)
Mickorod Renard: the sitting on the toilet by urself culture
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi hi hi
SophiaSharon Larnia: I'm afraid I would be considered quite rude then, I would really have to work
    Zon Quar: me 2
arabella Ella: i found it strange when i visited Denmark and for example in Copenhagen with a crowded railway station it is so quiet ... nearly silent
SophiaSharon Larnia: but its great to know that for future reference
    Wol Euler nods
Agatha Macbeth: Why are brought up as kids with 'only speak when you're spoken to' then?
    Agatha Macbeth: we
Zon Quar: in northern europe it is polite to keep distance

    --BELL--

Zon Quar: and not disturb by nonsense
Zon Quar: it must be the climate, lack of sun that make cultures different in this respect
SophiaSharon Larnia: that would be odd though, to me too
Agatha Macbeth: Sorry Zon, don't see the connection...
    SophiaSharon Larnia: Ara
arabella Ella: perhaps less density where population is concerned as in Finland Zon?
SophiaSharon Larnia: sunnier climate, more expansive culture??
    Zon Quar: yes
Darren Islar: more outdoor living in the south
    Agatha Macbeth: (Just me perhaps)
Zon Quar: more joyous attitude to life
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes, possibly
Darren Islar: (Steven has found a new place to sleep :-))
SophiaSharon Larnia: looks like the old place to me
Agatha Macbeth: The words 'sun' and United Kingdom rarely belong in the same sentence
    Darren Islar: :-)
Zon Quar: when its dark and cold..u stick to businness more, all i sserious
arabella Ella: you tend to work more too
    Zon Quar: yes
    Agatha Macbeth nods @ Zon
arabella Ella: less 'waste of time' with social stuff
SophiaSharon Larnia: since spring arrived, I havent gotten anything done
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, I see now what you mean
Darren Islar: Going, see you all, bye for now :-)
    Wol Euler grins
Wol Euler: bye darren, take carte
    Mickorod Renard: bye Darren
    SophiaSharon Larnia: bye Darren :)
    Wol Euler: care
    Agatha Macbeth: Tatty bye Daz
    arabella Ella: nite Darren
    Agatha Macbeth: Take carte?
    Wol Euler: -t
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah
    Agatha Macbeth: A la carte
Agatha Macbeth: Well we bored steve pretty quickly
arabella Ella: perhaps he has simply had a tough day
Agatha Macbeth: Seems a lot of it about
arabella Ella: yes it happened to someone i know at a meeting in RL tonight :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: i did step out of my wacky day, and attempted to look at it as from a distance
Agatha Macbeth: Mind you, having said that about sun and the UK it's actually been very warm here today
stevenaia Michinaga: sorry, a RL interruption
    Agatha Macbeth: WB Steve
Wol Euler hands Steve a cup of strong coffee.
    arabella Ella: :)
Agatha Macbeth: Do you take sugar Steve?
stevenaia Michinaga: not a sleep interruption, wol, it jsut looks that way from here
stevenaia Michinaga: n, I'm sweet enough, Agatha
    Agatha Macbeth: Aww
    stevenaia Michinaga: giggles
arabella Ella: ah ... nothing is ever what it seems to be
    Zon Quar: nope
    Zon Quar: all is maya
Agatha Macbeth: In what way Ara?
    Zon Quar: illusion
Mickorod Renard: my problem is delusion
Agatha Macbeth: And what is maya?
arabella Ella: in the way that the question arises ... how real are our perceptions?
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah, right
Agatha Macbeth: 'The doors of Perception' again
Zon Quar: maya is illusion caused by wrong identification
    Agatha Macbeth: Thx zon
    Mickorod Renard: good ol huxly
    Agatha Macbeth: Yep
arabella Ella: simply lessons learnt from Imanuel Kant Agatha
arabella Ella: about how the structure of our brain controls and limits the perceptions we have
    Agatha Macbeth: Right, understood
Mickorod Renard: its that Kant again
SophiaSharon Larnia: have to go all ;) Take care!
Wol Euler: bye sharon, take care
Agatha Macbeth: Immanuel Kant, but we can
    Zon Quar: bye Sophia
    Mickorod Renard: bye SSl
    Wol Euler: boom boom
Agatha Macbeth: Oh, bye Shaz, take care :)
    arabella Ella: bye SSL
    Mickorod Renard: he he
arabella Ella: nice one Aga ... about Kant ...
    Wol Euler: hello cal
    Zon Quar: cal
    Agatha Macbeth: Hiya Cal
Agatha Macbeth: Ah, back in orange eh?
    Calvino Rabeni: good day all
    Mickorod Renard: evnin Cal
Calvino Rabeni: Yes the robes are great for warm climates
    arabella Ella: Hiya Calvino
Agatha Macbeth: You could have worn them here today then
Calvino Rabeni: AH was it a nice day in SL ?
Agatha Macbeth: Dunno about SL, but it was in England
    Agatha Macbeth: 21C
    Agatha Macbeth: With me
arabella Ella: and ironically here we had rain and thunder and lightening
    Agatha Macbeth wipes her forehead
arabella Ella: and yet another power cut early morning

    --BELL--

Zon Quar: life is fair sometimes
Mickorod Renard: it was 22c here ags
    Mickorod Renard: oops
    Zon Quar: shhhh
Agatha Macbeth will be right back.
arabella Ella: it is cold here tonight ... only 15 celsius
Calvino Rabeni: What is a power cut, ara ? No electricity?
    arabella Ella: yes Calvino
stevenaia Michinaga: end of my (work) day, see you later :
    Wol Euler: :)
Wol Euler: bye steve, enjoy the evening
Calvino Rabeni: Due to weather, or a rationing? (power outage)
    Agatha Macbeth returns
    arabella Ella: bye Steve
Agatha Macbeth: in time to wave to steve
    Mickorod Renard: bye steve
arabella Ella: due to an old power station that should have been replaced but hasn't yet
arabella Ella: so bits and pieces keep on giving up the ghost which is really bad for us
Agatha Macbeth: Another power outage Ara?
Wol Euler: y'know, I don't think there has been one here since I moved to Germany.
Agatha Macbeth: The ones here always seem to occur in the middle of the night strangely
    Wol Euler: that is odd
    arabella Ella: yes Aga
    Agatha Macbeth: But convenient...
arabella Ella: ah we have unfortunately had three nation wide ones within a couple of months which is very bad
    Agatha Macbeth: Ow
arabella Ella: as it is not peak season for usage of power
arabella Ella: just imagine when everyone puts on their ACs
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, hurts much ore in the winter
    Agatha Macbeth: more
    Zon Quar: waves.....
Wol Euler: when I was a kid, there would be a power failure at least once a week in mid-summer, in early evening
Wol Euler: bye zon, take care
    Agatha Macbeth: C ya zon
Mickorod Renard: when the lights go out at night Ags,,thats just u fallin asleep,,its normal
arabella Ella: it can happen with overload too
    Mickorod Renard: c u zon
    Wol Euler laughs.
arabella Ella: bye Zon good night!
Agatha Macbeth: In Toronto you mean Wol?
    Wol Euler: nice one, mick
    Wol Euler: yes, in TO
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah
Calvino Rabeni: Overload - too much caffeine, the fell asleep?
Agatha Macbeth: Big country to keep powered up
    arabella Ella giggles
Wol Euler: that stopped when the nuclear power plant came online
Wol Euler: and I was somehow a little sad, I missed it
Agatha Macbeth makes the sign of the cross
    Mickorod Renard: grin
Wol Euler: because it was a social moment, people would walk out into the street and talk quietly -- it was so quiet!
Agatha Macbeth: Mention the word 'nuclear' round here and most people faint
Agatha Macbeth: And start marching with placards
Wol Euler: well, back then it was The Future. We welcomed it.
Agatha Macbeth: Nobody seems to welcome it now, that's for sure
arabella Ella: here when we get a power cut during the evening everyone goes out into the street but we then scream across the road to communicate with each other
Calvino Rabeni: But they are coming back it seems
    Agatha Macbeth: Specially after Chernobyl
Wol Euler: but that doesn't stop us buying computers and widescreen tvs and ...
    Agatha Macbeth: Wind farms?#
Calvino Rabeni: The computers and grids use a huge power now
Mickorod Renard: I think in the uk,,some of these things are just excuses to have a big summer camp out in the woods
Wol Euler: currently supplying less than 1% of Germany's needs, and there is already a windmill on every hilltop
Agatha Macbeth: Sounds ok to me :)
    Mickorod Renard: see
Agatha Macbeth: But mention 'nuclear' and people immeediately freak out
    Agatha Macbeth: -e
    Mickorod Renard: e=mc2
    Agatha Macbeth: That too
arabella Ella: well a power cut involves loss of production
Calvino Rabeni: I heard google was getting into wind power - they know they use a lot of electricity
arabella Ella: traffic lights dont work any more and cause chaos on the roads
Mickorod Renard: I remember years ago,,someone thought it wud be good to have a party in the woods and call it cnd or something
arabella Ella: and you cant get on to the web
Agatha Macbeth: I hear Cameron is into it too- he uses a lot of wind
Mickorod Renard: then it caught on and the media thought it was something to do with nuclear arms
arabella Ella: don't all politicans do so Aga?
    Agatha Macbeth: YES Ara!!! :)
arabella Ella: it is a pre-requisite
Agatha Macbeth: Is that not why they are politicians?
    Wol Euler nods
    arabella Ella giggles
Mickorod Renard: yes,,and there has been a huge increase in stomach bugs since the conservatives took over
    Agatha Macbeth: ??
    arabella Ella: conspiracy theory Mick?
    Mickorod Renard: must be
Calvino Rabeni: Yogurt can help that political situation

    --BELL--

    Agatha Macbeth loves yogurt
arabella Ella hates yogurt thinks the taste is so insipid
Agatha Macbeth: Depends on the flavour Ara
    arabella Ella: still insipid
arabella Ella: unless overloaded with jam or honey
Agatha Macbeth: Chacun a son gout, ne c'est pas?
    Agatha Macbeth: -c
    arabella Ella: oui certainment
    Agatha Macbeth: Bien :)
Wol Euler thinks of Flanders and Swann
arabella Ella: nous sommes tres joli ce soir
arabella Ella: (just to fill the silence)
Agatha Macbeth: The gas man came to call?
    Wol Euler: Madeira
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh, right
    Mickorod Renard: bonneeeeeeee
    Agatha Macbeth: M?
Agatha Macbeth: By the rivers of Babylon...
    Mickorod Renard: he he
arabella Ella prefers Roddie with his husky voice
    arabella Ella: (and tartan pants)
    Wol Euler: good god woman.
    Agatha Macbeth: ??
    Wol Euler: :)
    arabella Ella: he he
    Agatha Macbeth: MacDowall?
Agatha Macbeth: Don't think he was your type Ara ;-)
arabella Ella: The one and only Roddie with his unique voice
arabella Ella: actually i hope to go to two of his concerts in summer
arabella Ella: one locally one in london
    Mickorod Renard: and cod piece
    Wol Euler: two?!?
Agatha Macbeth looks @ Mick somewhat puzzled
arabella Ella: i booked tickets for the london concert now i find he will be visiting this rock soon after i get back
    Wol Euler: :)
arabella Ella: so i hope to go to two concerts of his within the space of less than a week
Agatha Macbeth: Well there's luck for you
Wol Euler: I guess you have no choice.
    arabella Ella: :)
Agatha Macbeth: A glutton for punishment eh?
Wol Euler: perhaps you'll get a bulk discount?
arabella Ella: drools just thinking about the experience she will savour ... mmmmmm
Mickorod Renard: is it a treat given from the inquisition Ara?
Agatha Macbeth: I liked that song he did with Python Lee Jackson
Agatha Macbeth: Nobody expects the Roddie inquisition
Calvino Rabeni: @ara is there a youtube or something with that special voice?
Wol Euler: the killing of georgie?
arabella Ella: i guess there probably is calvino ... but dont tell me you never heard of Rod Stewart?
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah yes
Agatha Macbeth has heard of James Stuart
Calvino Rabeni: I grew up in a mountain monastery, ara :)
    arabella Ella: ah
Calvino Rabeni: Not really, but, I have no memory of such voice
Calvino Rabeni: So thanks, I will give it a try
arabella Ella: it is a raspy voice
Agatha Macbeth: Sounds likema bulldog chewing a wasp
    Agatha Macbeth: -m
    Wol Euler: heheheheheh
Calvino Rabeni: louis armstrong, tom waits, also gavelly voices
Mickorod Renard: someone gave me a load of bert bacharack LP's today
arabella Ella: yes also Barry White
Agatha Macbeth: Tom Waits for no man
Agatha Macbeth: And what about Solid Snake?
Mickorod Renard: I am gonna smash em up and make an art structure
arabella Ella: Roddie's Stew tastes so yummy
Calvino Rabeni: Calvino Rabeni is interested in voices, but suddenly has to leave for an other event -
    Agatha Macbeth: Who?
    Wol Euler: bye cal, enjoy
    --BELL--
arabella Ella: oh ... bye Calvino
    Mickorod Renard: bye Cal
