Fael Illyar: Hi Bolonath :)
Bolonath Crystal: namaste :))
Fael Innovia is playing as two avatars today.
Bolonath Crystal: :)
Bolonath Crystal: very multipersonal ;)
Fael Innovia giggles.
Bolonath Crystal: your second avatar looks really cute
Fael Innovia: which one is that? :)
--BELL--
Bolonath Crystal: innovia
Fael Innovia smiles 'Thank you.'
Bolonath Crystal: :)
Fael Illyar: This one isn't as much to your liking then? :)
Fael Illyar: ... actually, please forget I asked that. Not a good question :)
Bolonath Crystal: hehe, that's exactly the kind of situation i'm trying to avoid when I'm in company with two women
Fael Illyar giggles.
Bolonath Crystal: it is only that the combination of innovias hais and tan skin that reminds me about some characters of wendy pini's "elfquest" (in case you know about that)
Fael Illyar: I can look it up :)
Bolonath Crystal: it is a rather famous graphic novel
Bolonath Crystal: from the 80's i think
Fael Illyar: yes, the style looks a bit old :)
Bolonath Crystal: fits with me *g* i'm a bit old, too
Fael Innovia: not saying it's not good :)
Fael Innovia: do you remember the character name?
Bolonath Crystal: it is not a certain character. rather the style itself
Fael Innovia: oh
Fael Innovia: Hi Cal :)
Bolonath Crystal: namaste cal :)
Fael Illyar: Hi Cal :)
Fael Illyar playing as multiple avatars today.
Calvino Rabeni: _/!\_
Calvino Rabeni: Calvino Rabeni wonders which Fael to bet on in a wrestling match between the two.
Bolonath Crystal: *g*
Fael Innovia grins.
Bolonath Crystal: can we replace the water in our pool with mud? ;)
Fael Innovia: would have to ask Storm :)
Calvino Rabeni: Must be Innovia is the one - who likes the idea better. Illyar is not amused.
Fael Innovia: Yes, you see that right :)
--BELL--
Fael Illyar: Must admit I find some resistance to the idea :)
Fael Innovia: and not, at the same time
Bolonath Crystal: practise openness :) resistances are mental blockades
Fael Innovia smiles.
Fael Innovia: Hi Liza :)
Fael Illyar: Hi Liza :)
Bolonath Crystal: namaste liza :)
Liza Deischer: hi everyone
Calvino Rabeni: Greetings to you and yours :)
Fael Innovia playing as two avatars today.
Calvino Rabeni: Hmm, have you seen Darren around?
Liza Deischer: two Fael's today :)
Liza Deischer: not today no :)
Liza Deischer: I think he is still asleep :)
Fael Innovia giggles.
Liza Deischer: so am I, btw
Bolonath Crystal: *g*
Calvino Rabeni: you might want to meet this "friend" of mine :)
Bolonath Crystal: sure :) welcome cor :)
Fael Innovia: Hello Cor :)
Fael Illyar: Hello Cor :)
Liza Deischer: hi Cor :)
Cor Wylder: pLEASURE TO MEET YOU fAELS :)
Cor Wylder: Is ther a TOpic for tonite?
--BELL--
Bolonath Crystal: nope
Bolonath Crystal: any suggestions?
Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
Bolonath Crystal: nice idea :)
Calvino Rabeni: COr was thinking of one (I can read his mind)
Calvino Rabeni: ANyone have a good definition of Eros?
Liza Deischer: maybe how we can make sure there is always a full circle :)
Cor Wylder: Arent ths the things shot from Cupid's Bow?
Bolonath Crystal: eros is the god of sexual attraction, if i remember right
Fael Innovia: Wikipedia has an article on it for sure :)
Liza Deischer: Bertram knows more about it
Calvino Rabeni: Well !
Liza Deischer: a God of attraction, how strange if you start to think about it
Bolonath Crystal: what is so strange about that?
Calvino Rabeni: THe ancients had Gods for everything
Liza Deischer: realizing that Greek and Roman Gods were showing a lot of human emotions
Fael Illyar: a lot of the gods (if not all) seem to be aspects of the human mind to me.
Liza Deischer: where today it is about the opposit
Bolonath Crystal: agree
Calvino Rabeni: Eros: a type of love that seeks fulfillment without violation or something else; libido; collective instincts for self-preservation; life drive
Calvino Rabeni: seems a different kind of love than "Agape"
Liza Deischer: hmmm, sounds more to the point
Calvino Rabeni: Those greeks had more kinds of love than us?
Liza Deischer: Bert was talking about a threesome
Bolonath Crystal: hinduism combines both aspects by having millions of deities for everything you can think about (and a few more), which all have their origin in "brahman"
Liza Deischer: Agape, Eros and.......
Calvino Rabeni: Ah, I get it - Eros = love for the opposite; Agape = love for the same
Calvino Rabeni: Hmmm
Fael Innovia: hey, that sounds pretty nice.
Calvino Rabeni: It seemed to me, those Hindus always sent their gods around in pairs, male and female
Liza Deischer: yes, Buddhism is full of it too, but only having .....
Liza Deischer: can't remember teh word
Liza Deischer: not even in dutch :)
Bolonath Crystal: bodhisattvas?
Liza Deischer: transformed human qualities
Liza Deischer: transformed, that's it
Liza Deischer: :)
Bolonath Crystal: abstract ideas can be handled much better, if they are personalized
Cor Wylder: I'd say - Eros is - I really want to do something :) Agape is - hey, just Be...
Fael Innovia smiles.
Liza Deischer: yes Bolo
Calvino Rabeni: They were kind of personal to begin with?
Calvino Rabeni: How did they manage to become abstract?
--BELL--
Cor Wylder: Hey right, I never met a "person" in my life
Liza Deischer: I think Anteros is the third name
Liza Deischer: no, but you can imagine a 'person' with those qualities
Fael Innovia: Hi Zal :)
Fael Illyar: Hi Zal :)
Bolonath Crystal: i don't think that gods were personal from the beginning
Liza Deischer: hi Zal :)
Bolonath Crystal: hello zaldaan
Zaldaan Sirnah: Faels, :)
Calvino Rabeni: I don't know, Liza - I can't imagine any person without qualities, in order to add the qualities to it
Liza Deischer: well i wonder about that if it comes to Greek and Roman Gods
Zaldaan Sirnah: Hi -- what is meant by "gods"?
Calvino Rabeni: But I admit, it's handy - kind of - you get to think about more things but with less precision - quantity before quality
Cor Wylder: Sop are the Gods abstractions of humans?
Bolonath Crystal: zal: i talked about gods in the sense of personalisations of natural forces or emotions
Liza Deischer: I know what you mean Cal, but that is about deitys
Liza Deischer: it is quality personalized, only possible to imagine as a godly identity
Liza Deischer: an emantaion
Bolonath Crystal: not abstractions of humans, but abstractions of certain human aspects
Liza Deischer: emanation
Liza Deischer: you make a visualization about the god/godess
Liza Deischer: as a place to concentrate certain qualities
Bolonath Crystal: right
Zaldaan Sirnah: why?
Liza Deischer: and ask for it to become filled with energy
Liza Deischer: resolving it into yourself afterwards
Liza Deischer: for the moment of being, being a focuspoint
Zaldaan Sirnah: you concentrate the qualities in the visualization?
Bolonath Crystal: it is easier to deal with a visual symbol than invisible ideas
Liza Deischer: something like that Zal
Liza Deischer: right Bolo
Zaldaan Sirnah: yet we know the qualities and emotions very well -- isn't it better just to feel it directly?
Liza Deischer: those are transformed qualities
Liza Deischer: very hard to 'feel' directly
Zaldaan Sirnah: like what?
Liza Deischer: You use the visualization to bring it closer to you
Liza Deischer: like compassion, instead of love
Bolonath Crystal: the worshipping of deities might trigger the direct experience of the qualitiy
Liza Deischer: nice way to put it :)
Fael Innovia: meep! :)
Liza Deischer: we humans have a way of mixing those qualities up with emotions
Zaldaan Sirnah: like, let's say you're doing a meditation with some "goddess" who sends emerald light and love from such and such point on her body into your chest
Bolonath Crystal thinks about a greek warrior worshipping Ares to get himself into a state of rage while preparing for battle
Zaldaan Sirnah: you know, and in her hand is such and such, and the other hand is positioned like so...
Liza Deischer: bringing it into a visualization is making it to a object of 'study'
Calvino Rabeni: The rage was considered a "positive emotion" at the time
Zaldaan Sirnah: ahh, I see.. but then you have battles of "gods"
Liza Deischer: isolating it form yourself for a while
Liza Deischer: (not really by the way, that wouldn't be right)
Zaldaan Sirnah: your Ares against their .. hmm.. trying to think of a greek battle whose opponent's dieties I know
Fael Innovia: You know... rage can be positive. Depends on it's use.
--BELL--
Liza Deischer: on a human level it is like having an alt that emphasises certain aspects in you (it is the other way around actually, but okay)
Calvino Rabeni: Didn't some cultures consider Love a negative emotion - a form of illness or madness?
Zaldaan Sirnah: yeah, you get to "craft" it.. we're used to doing things "outside"
Fael Innovia: the wikipedia article on Love mentions greeks considering love as a for of madness.
Fael Innovia: although, no mention if it was considered negative. I wouldn't think so
Zaldaan Sirnah: animals love
Liza Deischer: I think being in love is close to madness :)
Liza Deischer: or better: falling in love
Calvino Rabeni: Wine and alcohol was used as a metaphor for a state of spiritual feeling by Rumi
Bolonath Crystal: *ggg* yes, and marriage is the cure ;))
Liza Deischer: :)
Calvino Rabeni: har
Bolonath Crystal: well, i have to go back to rl. have a good time and enjoy yourselves :)
Bolonath Crystal: om shanti
Fael Innovia: Have fun Bolonath :)
Liza Deischer: bye Bolo :)
Fael Illyar: Have fun Bolonath :)
Cor Wylder: so long Bolo
Cor Wylder: Actually I have to go too - I need more sleep than Cal
Liza Deischer: :))
Cor Wylder: so thanks and Bye :)
Liza Deischer: maybe Cal too, but he doesn't know it
Liza Deischer: bye Cor :)
Fael Innovia: Oh, he was fast
Liza Deischer: I'm, going too, rl calling
Zaldaan Sirnah: b'bye
Liza Deischer: bye all :)
Fael Innovia: have fun Liza :)
Fael Illyar: Well, this sessions seems about over :)
Fael Illyar: have fun everyone :)
Fael Innovia: have fun everyone :)
Zaldaan Sirnah: I need some good stretching / movement for my character
--BELL--
Calvino Rabeni: there are some martial arts sims with every kind of move
Calvino Rabeni: You could probably find yoga, certainly taiji
Calvino Rabeni: Probably not any of those gurdjieff movements
Calvino Rabeni: Some of the martial artists seem to have put much effort into those anims to make them precise
Zaldaan Sirnah: I'll take a look.. my best one is a ninja one but it has some weird moves too..
Calvino Rabeni: I learned to make them, but it is a lot of work.
Zaldaan Sirnah: probably easier with advanced software like maya or poser
Zaldaan Sirnah: qavimator was awful.. too undeveloped to be usable
Calvino Rabeni: That one's pretty good - did you make it?
Zaldaan Sirnah: no.. free gift some time back
Zaldaan Sirnah: I don't have good software for it
Zaldaan Sirnah: you?
--BELL--
Calvino Rabeni: No, I don't have so much time for it., fun as it would be
Zaldaan Sirnah: no it would only be good for selling, and only if you could do it in an amount to be worth it
Calvino Rabeni: If that microsoft touchless controller gets integrated to SL, it will provide a boost
Calvino Rabeni: GTG .. If you are still "here" - see you later
