    Wester Kiranov: hi bert

    Bertram Jacobus: hey wester

Wester Kiranov: are those things fireflies, or what?

Bertram Jacobus: no - in english : "ghost lights", in german "irrlichter" (!) ... ;-)

    Wester Kiranov: ah - dwaallichten.

    Wester Kiranov: ;-P

Bertram Jacobus: may be the german is similar to dutch here ? ;-)

    Wester Kiranov: it is

Bertram Jacobus: yess :-) - let me see ... ma dutch dictionary ... :-)

Bertram Jacobus: ah yes : my dictionary hasn't these words - too small - only for the pocket (!)

Bertram Jacobus: too unusual words ... ;-)

    Bertram Jacobus: hey ara ! ... :-)

    Wester Kiranov: hi ara

    --BELL--

arabella Ella: Hiya Bert Wester :)

arabella Ella: Ah we are so quiet here tonight!

    arabella Ella: A peaceful silence

Wester Kiranov: just watching the lights

    arabella Ella: lights?

Wester Kiranov: white dots in the sky

Bertram Jacobus: some ghost lights here ...

    arabella Ella: lovely

    Bertram Jacobus: hello zaldaan

    Wester Kiranov: hello zaldaan

    arabella Ella: Hi Zaldan, Quiver

    Wester Kiranov: hello quiver

    arabella Ella: Hiya Pila

    Wester Kiranov: hi pila

Zaldaan Sirnah: I think sitting like this is giving me a scoliosis type thing

Zaldaan Sirnah: look, one day I don't wear my shirt and everyone takes it as an opportunity to abuse me

    Quiver Quintessa: Hi!

    Pila Mulligan: greetings

Zaldaan Sirnah: Quiver get back here.

Bertram Jacobus: hi quiver and pila ! :-)

    Quiver Quintessa: Flasher

arabella Ella: I dont think we abuse people here Zaldaan

Zaldaan Sirnah: well someone placed my head in them.

Wester Kiranov: zaldaan, quiver, have you been here before?

    Pila Mulligan: :)

    Zaldaan Sirnah: :)

    Quiver Quintessa: Once

    Pila Mulligan: hi Mick

Bertram Jacobus: hey mick ! ;-)

Zaldaan Sirnah: Wester, thousands of minutes!

    Wester Kiranov: hey mickey

Wester Kiranov: have a nice swim :-)

Zaldaan Sirnah: I think I sit cross-legged too much and am getting curled pinky toes

arabella Ella: new dance Micko to go with the zazuzela?

Quiver Quintessa: Your socks are weird Zal

Zaldaan Sirnah: eso si que es

    Quiver Quintessa: They're distracting me

    Pila Mulligan: wb Mick

Zaldaan Sirnah: stop listening to them

    Quiver Quintessa: I can't work

    Mickorod Renard: Hii

Mickorod Renard: sorry i am late

    Quiver Quintessa: They're too loud!!

Mickorod Renard: is everyone ok?,,any newcommers?

    arabella Ella: Hiya Mick

    Wester Kiranov: you mean vuvuzelas?

arabella Ella: oh yes ... he he

    Wester Kiranov: http://www.johnandjohn.nl/write/jaj749.gif

    Quiver Quintessa: His socks :(

arabella Ella: how funny that is Wester

    Zaldaan Sirnah: What's Vuvuzelas?

Mickorod Renard: I darnt open anything,,i am a bit fragile on line tonite

arabella Ella: and congrats for Holland's win this afternoon :)

Zaldaan Sirnah: oh they win? we have it recorded to watch later.

arabella Ella: yes Holland won 2-0 against denmark

arabella Ella: japan won against cameroon

    Pila Mulligan: hi Agatha

    Mickorod Renard: hi Ags

arabella Ella: and italy and paraguay draw 1-1

Quiver Quintessa: I apologize for him.. Try not to look or listen to/at them

    arabella Ella: Hiya Agatha

    Agatha Macbeth: Hi everyone :)

Zaldaan Sirnah: I meant -- please don't spoil it :(

arabella Ella: oh .... apologies ... too late!

Bertram Jacobus: hya agatha ! ;-)

    Agatha Macbeth waves to Berti

    Bertram Jacobus freut sich ;-)

    --BELL--

Wester Kiranov: lol @ pilas outfit

Pila Mulligan: Nymf (Dutch) gave me this last year

Zaldaan Sirnah: Is it okay if I don't like hello's nor goodbye's nor clapping/applause nor shaking hands?

Pila Mulligan: since they just won it seems appropriate

Zaldaan Sirnah: Hugs are nice still

arabella Ella loves hugs too especially RL ones

Bertram Jacobus: and when they had lost ? ;-)

arabella Ella: very appropriate Pila I agree!

Wester Kiranov: do you have any Danish shirts? :)

Pila Mulligan: it is the only football tshirt I have Bert, I'm stuck with it

    Pila Mulligan: :)

    Bertram Jacobus: i see ...

    Mickorod Renard: he he

    Bertram Jacobus: :-)

arabella Ella: I would love to have a Rooney football shirt

    Agatha Macbeth: The future's orange

Bertram Jacobus: the future is all (?) ;-)

Wester Kiranov: in Holland, the present is VERY orange

    Agatha Macbeth: All what? ;-)

    Pila Mulligan: :)

    Bertram Jacobus: simply all

Zaldaan Sirnah: If the future is orange what is the past?

arabella Ella: throw the past behind you Zal

    Agatha Macbeth: unorange presumably

Wester Kiranov: then it would be blue

Wester Kiranov: that's the most unorange color

    Agatha Macbeth: Love is blue

arabella Ella: why is love blue Ags?

Wester Kiranov: blue is much too cool for love i think

Agatha Macbeth: That's what the song said...

arabella Ella: didnt it say 'when i'm feelin blue' so feelings are blue not love

Zaldaan Sirnah: is the past the unfuture ?

Mickorod Renard: you have the blue lagoon dont you Ara?

    Agatha Macbeth: Different song Ara

    Pila Mulligan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p9FYD1dlw4E

Zaldaan Sirnah: why isn't the past the foundation of orange

arabella Ella: yes i have a blue lagoon Mick :)

arabella Ella: and a blue grotto too :)

    Mickorod Renard: oh yes

Wester Kiranov: past is time at the opposite place from future

Zaldaan Sirnah: but I guess I'm ignoring what stands out as the most clear advice, to throw the past behind me

Wester Kiranov: and orange is opposite blue as a color

Zaldaan Sirnah: and how that might provide more completion to "put ...", to better my understanding

Mickorod Renard: is time a consumable ?

arabella Ella: well Zaldaan here we sometimes discuss 'dropping'

arabella Ella: and you could consider working at 'dropping' the past if you wish

Wester Kiranov: they're still both time, or both color, and they are each other in a very real sense, and they are not in another quite real sense

    arabella Ella: Hiya Liza

    Agatha Macbeth: Hello Liza

    Wester Kiranov: hi liza

    Pila Mulligan: hi Liza

    Mickorod Renard: Hi Liza

    Liza Deischer: hi everyone :)

Bertram Jacobus: hy liza ! :-)

    Bertram Jacobus: :-)

Mickorod Renard: if time is a consumable than the future must exist so that we can consume it

Wester Kiranov: that doesn't make sense to me. how would you consume time?

    arabella Ella: by sleeping?

Agatha Macbeth: You can kill time

    arabella Ella: or reading?

    arabella Ella: or watching TV

    Mickorod Renard: expend time

arabella Ella: or coming on to SL

Wester Kiranov: consume usually implies you can not consume as well

Wester Kiranov: save it for later

Zaldaan Sirnah: how can you GIVE to time instead of take?

Mickorod Renard: the air we breath is something we have to consume

Wester Kiranov: you can still hold your breath

Wester Kiranov: but that's not what i meant

Mickorod Renard: it was a silly thought,,but a sort of diferent perspective

    --BELL--

Liza Deischer: I think time excist because we're human

Liza Deischer: and I think it can be consumed

Liza Deischer: in some way .....

Bertram Jacobus: whaow - cool - ty pila - hasn't that a special meaning in hawaii ? like welcome may be perhaps ? or : be happy ? ;-)

    Pila Mulligan: aloha

Bertram Jacobus: and what is that ? welcome ? be happy ? (aloha) ;-)

Liza Deischer: my guess is: hello

    Pila Mulligan: all of them

    Pila Mulligan: love, hello, goodbye

Pila Mulligan: literally -- 'to share breath'

    Mickorod Renard: wow,,thanks Pila

    Wester Kiranov: ty pila

Liza Deischer: wow that is quite meaningful

Pila Mulligan: did everyone get one?

Pila Mulligan: I tried not to miss anyone

Wester Kiranov: glad we didn't do a shirt exchange :)

    Liza Deischer: :)))

Pila Mulligan: now we can be for the Hawaiian team in the world Cup

Agatha Macbeth: Yes, orange doesn't suit me :p

    Pila Mulligan: :)

Liza Deischer: as long as you support the Dutch one :)

arabella Ella: thanks Pila how lovely!

    Pila Mulligan: :)

arabella Ella: are the Dutch a majority here tonight?

Liza Deischer: not at all, Pila is a bit out of colour :)

    Agatha Macbeth: No Pema tho

    arabella Ella: true

Pila Mulligan: Dutch 2 Brits 2

    Agatha Macbeth: After extra time

    Liza Deischer: :)))

arabella Ella: oh I thought Zal is dutch too?

Pila Mulligan: ahh, p[erhaps I erred then

Liza Deischer: not that I know of

    arabella Ella: not sure

Wester Kiranov: i can never remember the nationalities, i just have a vague sense of time zones

    arabella Ella: yes

Agatha Macbeth: The time zones tend to cause the problems, certainly

    Bertram Jacobus: problems ? ;-)

    Agatha Macbeth: In certain ways

    Bertram Jacobus: hm

    Bertram Jacobus: ;o)

Bertram Jacobus: i prefere solutions ;-)

Agatha Macbeth: Every solution has a problem

Mickorod Renard: Zaldaan. if I remember correctly..you know some about the Suffi Wisdom?

Wester Kiranov: you need problems before you can have solutions

    Liza Deischer: do problems excist?

Quiver Quintessa: Zal fell asleep :)

Pila Mulligan: as you rip so shall you sew

    Agatha Macbeth: Yaku mk 2

Mickorod Renard: you could call problems by a different name,,then they would be something else

    Quiver Quintessa: He was exhausted

Agatha Macbeth: If my aunt was a man, she'd be my uncle

    arabella Ella: oh poor Zal

    Mickorod Renard: exactly Ags

    Agatha Macbeth: :)

Pila Mulligan: or at least your uncle's boyfreind

Mickorod Renard: a positive person may call a problem a challenge

Wester Kiranov: they'd just be callled something else

arabella Ella: ok a problem is evidence of dissonance, a difference between what is considered as ideal and what is 'perceived' as real which are different and create an uncomfortable feeling

Wester Kiranov: oh please, not challenges. that's so corny

    Mickorod Renard: well,,i have a few idea's

Agatha Macbeth: That's wahat I was going to say Ara ;-)

arabella Ella: it was not meant as a challenge at all Wester

Quiver Quintessa: Ask him another time though, I'm sure he'd love to elaborate :)

    Bertram Jacobus: (chance) ;-)

Wester Kiranov: i was answering Mick

Mickorod Renard: I couldnt really elaborate on what i think is ideal cos of the public Wiki

    arabella Ella: ah

    Mickorod Renard: :)

    --BELL--

Liza Deischer: one of the disadvantages

Quiver Quintessa: and please continue to ignore his unsightly socks :)

    Agatha Macbeth: We do...

    Mickorod Renard: shh

Wester Kiranov: do keep on reminding us to ignore his socks. else we might forget :)

arabella Ella: Hey Quiver what is wrong with his socks? Do they stink?

Agatha Macbeth: But don't forget to remind us

Mickorod Renard: I was thinking of something earlier

    Agatha Macbeth: !

Pila Mulligan must slip away now -- aloha everyone

    Wester Kiranov: bye pila

    Liza Deischer: bye Pila

Agatha Macbeth: Aloha Pila, take care :)

    arabella Ella: bye Pila

Liza Deischer: sorry to see the shirt go away :(

Agatha Macbeth waves to the shirt

    Agatha Macbeth: Did he crash?

Bertram Jacobus: sry - was distracted ...

Agatha Macbeth: He's gone offline anyhow

Liza Deischer: there is something above your head Bert

    Agatha Macbeth: Ah, he's back

Agatha Macbeth: Comes and goes like Frank Sinatra...

Bertram Jacobus: he came and went ? in which way ?

    Agatha Macbeth: Right angles?

    Liza Deischer: or ceasar

Agatha Macbeth: What's he got to do with it?

Bertram Jacobus: and liza : nothing important missed - only ghost lights ( dwaallichten) :-)

Liza Deischer: I was just wondering :)

Bertram Jacobus: hihi. in the beginning of this session ... "nothing happend" - and so ... "i did something" ...

    Bertram Jacobus: playing (!)

    Bertram Jacobus: as being ;-)

Bertram Jacobus: hey wol ! :-)

    Agatha Macbeth: Wol alert! :))

Wol Euler: hello agatha, liza, bert, zaldaan, quiver

    Liza Deischer: hi Wol

Agatha Macbeth: I got one of those in blue :)

Bertram Jacobus: whaow - WHAT an outfit tonite ! :o)

    Quiver Quintessa: Ugh

    Wol Euler: hzeheheh

Wol Euler: I note a floral theme

    Quiver Quintessa: Speaker blast

    Agatha Macbeth: Pila :)

    Wol Euler: ah

    Quiver Quintessa: Hi Wol :)

Liza Deischer: he was wearing a dutch football shirt and only could give me the flowers in return :))

    Wol Euler: ty bert

    Wol Euler: and quiver

    Bertram Jacobus: yvw wol :-)

Liza Deischer: the shirt looked good on him though :)

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: oh, you're right, I need some boots :)

    Agatha Macbeth: Would help :)

    Wol Euler grins

Wol Euler: where's yaku when you need him?

    Liza Deischer: :))))

    Agatha Macbeth: Asleep ;-)

    Wol Euler: heh

Wol Euler: well, I can appreciate htat

Agatha Macbeth: The latex posse is in da house!

Wol Euler makes obscure gangland gestures with both hands

    Agatha Macbeth: Complete with garlands

Agatha Macbeth points to your tag

    Wol Euler: whose?

    Agatha Macbeth: Yours :p

Bertram Jacobus: what for do you need yaku wol ? :-)

Wol Euler: I haz not one

Agatha Macbeth: Old joke Bert [grins]

Wol Euler: heheh, it's an inside joke

    Wol Euler: snap

Bertram Jacobus: oh. damn . oke ;o)

Wol Euler: which is itself pretty close to being the joke

    Agatha Macbeth: Truly

    Bertram Jacobus: oke oke

Agatha Macbeth: Aw, thx Liza :)

    Wol Euler: nice!

    Liza Deischer: yw :)

Wol Euler: an action shot :)

    Wol Euler: ty liza

    Liza Deischer: yes :)

Liza Deischer: needed to make it fast

    Agatha Macbeth: I bet

Wol Euler: though with two voluble talkers like us it wouldn'T be that hard to catch both at it

    Liza Deischer: hahahah

    Agatha Macbeth looks sideways inquiringly

Wol Euler grins and shakes her head. I'm not touching that :)

Agatha Macbeth looks sideways again :)

    Wol Euler: :)

    Agatha Macbeth coughs. Anyways...

Liza Deischer: well you just prooved your relationship showed on the picture :))

    Agatha Macbeth: Hm

    Wol Euler grins again

Agatha Macbeth: One always needs to be careful with them relationships :)

    Liza Deischer: true

Liza Deischer: but I think I make a picture underlined with these lines :)

    Agatha Macbeth: Could be

    Liza Deischer: just joking

    Agatha Macbeth grinz

    --BELL--

    Wol Euler: yes, squeaky rubber

Wol Euler: oh damn, wrong window :)

    Agatha Macbeth grins

    Bertram Jacobus: hehe :-)

    Liza Deischer: :)

    Liza Deischer: need to go

Liza Deischer: see you all :)

Wol Euler: bye liza, take care

Bertram Jacobus: good nite liza ! *wave*

Agatha Macbeth: Bye for now Liza, TC

Bertram Jacobus: too much care may be not good, too ?

Agatha Macbeth: Oh, never too much care!

Wol Euler: if it turns into worry, yes

Wol Euler: depends on how you take the word, I guess

Agatha Macbeth: Care, but don't worry

    Wol Euler: wb cutegirl

Bertram Jacobus: okay. i experiences that in america : so much fear (!) - was ma impression ... about "all out there" ...

Agatha Macbeth: Well, over there it's probably fear of failure, or at least not succeeding

    Bertram Jacobus: hello cutegirl :-)

    Agatha Macbeth: Thanks Bert :p

    Cutegirl Pearl: hello Bertram

    Bertram Jacobus: ?

    Bertram Jacobus: :-)

    Cutegirl Pearl: hi all

    Agatha Macbeth: Hi CG

Bertram Jacobus: what for was that thanks and the tongue aga ? ;-)

    Cutegirl Pearl: can i join?

    Agatha Macbeth: Tongue?!

Bertram Jacobus: sure - take a seat cutegirl :-)

Bertram Jacobus: isn't the emoticon for a tongue ?

    Wol Euler: I thought so

Bertram Jacobus: ah - chat lag now here

    Agatha Macbeth reads back

    Bertram Jacobus: : p

Agatha Macbeth: A grin, I thought

Bertram Jacobus: ah - as wol seems to affirm, it stands normally for the tongue ;-)

    Agatha Macbeth: Oh

    Agatha Macbeth: Well

    Agatha Macbeth: Er....

Bertram Jacobus: and - you don't like to sit with us cg ? :-) - oops - (away) (!) ;-)

Agatha Macbeth: Up up and away

    Cutegirl Pearl: conrol

Cutegirl Pearl: i have some lagging

    Wol Euler nods

    Bertram Jacobus: ah okay ...

Wol Euler: there's a lot of it going around

Wol Euler: bye aggers, take care, enjoy the evening

Agatha Macbeth: Time to go folks, nitey nite

Bertram Jacobus: good nite agatha ! *wave* ...

    Wol Euler: checkers!

    Bertram Jacobus: hehe wol :-)

    --BELL--

Bertram Jacobus: top checker wol ! :-)

    Wol Euler: :)

Wol Euler: do kids still play those games in the evenings?

    Bertram Jacobus: which ones ?

Wol Euler: the really simple board games like checkers, or Sorry or Snakes and ladders

Bertram Jacobus: ah. don't know the english names ... but ... may be at least less (?) ;-)

Wol Euler: I'd think so, and that is a pity. IMHO YMMV

    Wol Euler: gesellschaftsspielen, social games

    Bertram Jacobus: yess

Wol Euler: learning how to not kill each other

Bertram Jacobus: and i always forget what YMMWV is ... (sry)

    Bertram Jacobus: - W

Wol Euler: Your Mileage May Vary, meaning "that's how it works for me"

    Bertram Jacobus: ah !

    Bertram Jacobus: *thinking* ...

Bertram Jacobus: there are aslo modern group games where one only can reach something with a group ...

    Bertram Jacobus: and not alone

    Wol Euler: yep

Wol Euler: including paradoxically a lot of computer games

Bertram Jacobus: i don't find that paradox : computer games are not always bad and ugly automatically ;-)

    Wol Euler: oh no

Wol Euler: the paradox is htat one has to be alone to play a computer game with other people :)

Wol Euler: there are many non-bad and definitely non-ugly computer games

Bertram Jacobus: but may be the bad reports are more aware ... a difficult mechanisnm and difficult also to handle in the best way

Cutegirl Pearl: i used to like some premetive computer games back to 1998:)

Wol Euler: I get uneasy -- mir ist unbehaglich -- when people make moral judgements of computer gaming

Bertram Jacobus: ah - there are some revivals about those "old games" ... :-)

    Bertram Jacobus: c 64 and such ... pac man ... the classics ... ;-)

    Wol Euler smiles.

Bertram Jacobus: what is the difference between moral and ethics ?

Cutegirl Pearl: yes :), there were desert game, with appache missions

Bertram Jacobus: hehe. don't know them ...

Cutegirl Pearl: well thay are old ones

Wol Euler: good question, bert, I have to admit that I am not sure

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: morality is a judgement about a person by itself, as it were. Just me looking at just you

Wol Euler: Ethics is about how we relate

    Wol Euler: (I think)

Bertram Jacobus: and i have no problems with ethical views on things, also not on computer games as long as they are reasonable and done with a so to say good heart - then differenciation is possible i find

Wol Euler: morality talks about right and wrong (particularly about wrong) whereas ethics aims for objectivity, talking just about differences

Cutegirl Pearl: from wisegeek "Morals define personal character, while ethics stress a social system in which those morals are applied. In other words, ethics point to standards or codes of behavior expected by the group to which the individual belongs. This could be national ethics, social ethics, company ethics, professional ethics, or even family ethics. So while a person's moral code is usually unchanging, the ethics he or she practices can be other-dependent. "

Wol Euler: so I was right! good :)

    Cutegirl Pearl: not really!

Bertram Jacobus: hehe. why not ? ;-)

    Wol Euler is curious.

Cutegirl Pearl: When considering the difference between ethics and morals, it may be helpful to consider a criminal defense lawyer. Though the lawyer's personal moral code likely finds murder immoral and reprehensible, ethics demand the accused client be defended as vigorously as possible, even when the lawyer knows the party is guilty and that a freed defendant would potentially lead to more crime. Legal ethics must override personal morals for the greater good of upholding a justice system in which the accused are given a fair trial and the prosecution must prove guilt beyond a reasoWhen considering the difference between ethics and morals, it may be helpful to consider a criminal defense lawyer. Legal ethics must override personal moranable doubt.

Cutegirl Pearl: let me add something, what are values?

Cutegirl Pearl: in context of ethics and morals?

Bertram Jacobus: much text ... great cg - i prefere own words often (not only, but often) ... ;-)

Wol Euler: so ethics are about societies and relationships

Wol Euler: whereas morality is personal

Cutegirl Pearl: sure, i just erfrenced it at the begining

Bertram Jacobus: for example "the good" , "ideals" , "examples" (i mean persons with this last aspect)

Cutegirl Pearl: i agree with you bertram

    Cutegirl Pearl: yes Wol

Wol Euler: ethics aim at us all living together in relative comfort

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: morality aims at making an individual person "perfect"

Wol Euler: which is a dubiuos and dangerous undertaking

Cutegirl Pearl: let me ask you, does it justify our bad deeds thoe morals? bd deeds for e maybe ok for others?.. right

Wol Euler: well, that's the catch, CG :)

Wol Euler: if you do something on moral grounds, and I think it's wrong, then our moralities clearly differ

Wol Euler: many of the worst things that humans have done to each other have had moral justifications

Wol Euler: religious wars, for example

Bertram Jacobus: baeh - prefere the bright side of life ;-)

Cutegirl Pearl: yes, it is wars but they find justifications, in past it is used to be said thar "politics and religions are the drugs/ for nations"!

Bertram Jacobus: and that comes also from the differentiation of the good and the bad (!)

Bertram Jacobus: and does not exclude anything -

Bertram Jacobus: which is very often a misunderstanding : prefereing the bright side would be blind towards the other side

Bertram Jacobus: but i think, to stenghten the good aspects of life is a very serious task ...

    Wol Euler nods.

Wol Euler: I've been meaning for ages to ask Storm to give me permissoin to return lost items (like that)

Cutegirl Pearl: well, for me, and i can bewrong in my belief is that, the goos and the bd are obvious as light and darkness, so it is us who try to manipuate with the greedy things inside each

Wol Euler: that is individually true for each of us, CG. sure

Wol Euler: but the lightnesses and darnkesses don't necessarily overlap

Cutegirl Pearl: they dont, they have things in between

Bertram Jacobus: we got that from a hawaian friend and meber today ... :-)

Bertram Jacobus: and we could learn from him, that the quite well known "aloha" litterally translated , means : share the breath (!) ... :-)

Wol Euler: so my right is not necessarily yours

Bertram Jacobus: (sry for my throwing in that other topic - done) ;-)

    Wol Euler: :)

    Cutegirl Pearl: it is ok

    Cutegirl Pearl: :)

    Bertram Jacobus: ty ;-)

Cutegirl Pearl: well, i got to go now

Wol Euler: bye CG, take care

Bertram Jacobus: okay - was nice to meet you - come back if you like - take a lm cg :-)

Cutegirl Pearl: it was nice talking to you

    Wol Euler: likewise

    Cutegirl Pearl: sure
