Wol Euler was guardian for this session, filling in for Fefonz.

    Bertram Jacobus: hi zaldaan :-)

Zaldaan Sirnah suspects something is up.

Bertram Jacobus: what do you mean ?

Bertram Jacobus: hey yaku ! ;-)

Yakuzza Lethecus: hey both of oyu

Yakuzza Lethecus: wow, bert are you really "that old" ?

Bertram Jacobus: hehe. at the moment - yes :-)

    --BELL--

    Wol Euler: hello invisibles

    Yakuzza Lethecus: buenas wollie

Bertram Jacobus: hey hoo wol ! :-)

Wol Euler: hello bert, yaku, zaldaan

Wol Euler: oh wow. Orange bert.

    Bertram Jacobus: hehe. yess :-)

    Wol Euler: sweet

Bertram Jacobus: felt like that today :-)

    Bertram Jacobus: ty :-)

Zaldaan Sirnah: Yakuzza thinks it's a bit old fashioned.

    Wol Euler: ach was.

    Bertram Jacobus: lol

Bertram Jacobus: zaldaan - may i ask : what are your intentions at this place ?

    Wol Euler looks over curiously.

Bertram Jacobus: or ... i could ask that also all :-)

Bertram Jacobus: everybody i mean :-9

Bertram Jacobus: ah baeh - the ugly nine again - sry ! ;-)

Zaldaan Sirnah: I am waiting for the teacher to place my intent. I am as a corpse in the hands of the mortician.

    Wol Euler: ah :)

Wol Euler: or as clay in the hands of the potter, perhaps?

Wol Euler: a less morbid image

    Bertram Jacobus: hy cal

    Wol Euler: hello cal

Zaldaan Sirnah: Until that time I shall struggle to prepare myself to understand human nature and the reality of our existence and our relationship with the greatness of Divine consciousness. Stuff like that.

Wol Euler nods. That sounds about right.

    Bertram Jacobus: hey darren

    Darren Islar: hi everyone

    Calvino Rabeni: Hello everyone

    Wol Euler: hello darren

    Wol Euler: new clothes :)

Wol Euler: you do like hoodies :)

Bertram Jacobus: who could such a teacher be ?

Darren Islar: I'm not sure yet :)

Darren Islar: Actually I like things plain

Darren Islar: but thee was some wind today :)

Zaldaan Sirnah: It is said that the teacher should be revealed inwardly to the seeker.

Bertram Jacobus: oh i see. but that doesn't happen simply by waiting , right ?

    Wol Euler: doesn't it?

Bertram Jacobus: i'm not sure, but i don't think so - do you wol ?

Darren Islar: h Bert, you look.....eh......different today :))

Bertram Jacobus: hehe. yes. sry if i disturb your patterns (?) ;-)

Darren Islar: oh no, don't worry

Bertram Jacobus: i simply felt like this few minutes ago. sry again darren (?) ;-)

    Bertram Jacobus: tyty :-)

Wol Euler sings "Don't worry, be happy"

Zaldaan Sirnah: It it different for different people.

Bertram Jacobus: so you, wol and zaldaan, consider that "waiting" might be "enough" ? ;-)

Zaldaan Sirnah: People don't know what waiting is :)

Wol Euler: I consider that any efforts that I might know how to make, are likely to be the wrong ones.

    Wol Euler: wu wei

Wol Euler: "the path you can see is not the path"

Darren Islar: it is really cute actually Bert :)

Bertram Jacobus: hehe lol ty darren ! :-))

Darren Islar: as far as I know it is not happening by waiting

Bertram Jacobus: strange : paths i saw - were paths always or at least mostly ... hmm ... ;o)

Darren Islar: if you don't do anything old patterns show up

Darren Islar: that doesn't mean you have to do anything

Darren Islar: but not doing is meant differently in my viewing in this case

    --BELL--

Calvino Rabeni: I understand that point of view, Darren

    Wol Euler: ping.

    Bertram Jacobus: poof

Zaldaan Sirnah: If a drop of water moves on its own, where will it go? What will it become? What can it accomplish? But if it merges with the ocean it becomes one with the ocean.

Calvino Rabeni: It could take some doing to have that not doing merging occur

    Zaldaan Sirnah: It becomes "annihilated"

Bertram Jacobus: but we can see and watch also that things rot ...

Bertram Jacobus: and also jesus and buddha for example - seem to have done something , no ?

Wol Euler: they weren't looking for teachers, though.

    Bertram Jacobus: hi zon

    Wol Euler: hello zon

    Zon Quar: hi al

    Wol Euler: wb darren

Bertram Jacobus: ah - buddha yes. he first tried to learn with teachers

    Darren Islar: ty

    Darren Islar: sorry zon

Zon Quar: oh, did i take ur place ?

Wol Euler: I think the expression "when the pupil is ready the teacher will appear" implies that the pupil doesn't know what s/he needs to learn.

Darren Islar: no, it's okay Zon

Wol Euler: perhaps they don't even know that they need to learn something -- yet

    Darren Islar: h, btw :)

    Darren Islar: *hi

    Zon Quar: thx

Wol Euler: because if I know that I need to learn how to stand on my head, I can find somebody to teach me.

Wol Euler: I don't need a teacher to appear, there is a different flavour to that idea.

Calvino Rabeni: Another interpretation - that the student's preparation makes the teaching available

    Wol Euler: yes, very true

Calvino Rabeni: we learn what we are prepared to learn

Zon Quar: whne the apple is ripe, it falls by itself

Zaldaan Sirnah: It's unity at that point, even if the student can't see it.

Calvino Rabeni: I think we know the paradoxes of nondoing

Calvino Rabeni: occasionally a struggle is needed to "achieve" it

    --BELL--

Bertram Jacobus: i feel, that i need a brake , a rest . like to have it - sry and ty for the meeting ! may be all beings be lucky plz ... *wave* ...

Calvino Rabeni: Or from another view, an "act" of submission is required

Wol Euler: bye bert, rest well

    Bertram Jacobus: ty all

    Darren Islar: bye Bert :)

Calvino Rabeni: Bye, be well please :)

    Bertram Jacobus: vm

Wol Euler: strange fact from my twitter stream: A higher percentage of households in America have five TVs or more, than have none.

Darren Islar: then i feel very poor :)

Wol Euler: I feel very rich in good taste :)

Darren Islar: or rich, depends :)

    Wol Euler: exactly

    Wol Euler: preparation, yes.

Wol Euler: you can't fill a hole if you don't know it is there

    Calvino Rabeni: true

Wol Euler is full of platitudes and trivia tonight, sorry.

Calvino Rabeni: Fell right into that one :)

    Wol Euler: boom boom

    Darren Islar: ??

Wol Euler: ah, an ancient British TV reference

    Calvino Rabeni: ??

Wol Euler: to a snarky puppet called Basil Brush, who made awful and ancient jokes, then said "boom boom!" after

    Darren Islar: h :)

    Darren Islar: *ah

Zaldaan Sirnah: Have you ever sat in scrollback with the bell-notice as the last line, waiting several minutes for the completion?

    Wol Euler: heheheheheheh

Calvino Rabeni: No, I've never been

    Calvino Rabeni: that laggy

Calvino Rabeni: Who still has TVs? Aren't they obsolete?

Zaldaan Sirnah: not laggy -- scrolled up.

    Wol Euler: yes indeed.

    Wol Euler: single-function devices

Zon Quar: sr go must bye

Wol Euler: bye zon, take care

    Zaldaan Sirnah: Bye Zon

Darren Islar: I have .....eh....... 2 tv's, he admits relunctantly

    Wol Euler grins

Zaldaan Sirnah: Zon Q for being here.

    --BELL--

Darren Islar: bye Zon, sorry, bit late

    Wol Euler smiles

Calvino Rabeni: Boredom is actually, quite an intersting topic

Wol Euler is only bored when well-meaning people attempt to entertain her by putting on a TV

    Darren Islar: :))

Wol Euler wonders what Zaldaan is getting up to.

    Darren Islar: hints?

Zaldaan Sirnah: It's the healthiest AO I have.

Calvino Rabeni: Calvino Rabeni often finds entertainment "boring"

Calvino Rabeni: Acck says Calvino Rabeni

    Wol Euler: indeed.

Darren Islar: it looks a bit like tai chi, but not really

Wol Euler: or a chimpanzee AO

Calvino Rabeni: My future changed in the last 30 seconds - there is now a visit to the dentist needed

    Wol Euler: oh no

Calvino Rabeni: as I just broke a tooth

    Darren Islar: oops

Wol Euler: sorry to hear it

Calvino Rabeni: TY, it's one of those things I really dislike

    Darren Islar: open nerve?

Calvino Rabeni: No, luckily I don't think so

Wol Euler: oh, you'd know if it was open :)

Calvino Rabeni: And I was only halfway through lunch ...

Darren Islar: well, if you feel a lot of pain, you have an open nerve

Calvino Rabeni: No, it didn't get there

Darren Islar: I watch tv regurlarly at the moment, because of the elections

Calvino Rabeni: Just lost one of the cusps

Calvino Rabeni: Often other peoples medical issues qualify as "boring"

    Zaldaan Sirnah: On?

Calvino Rabeni: given there's nothing one can do

Zaldaan Sirnah: This is unfortunately not boring.

Calvino Rabeni: end of story :)

Calvino Rabeni: Boredom is a misunderstood emotion

Wol Euler: I hope the story has a nice sequel

Wol Euler: with a happy ending

    Calvino Rabeni: heheh

Wol Euler: but now it's nearly time for WoK

Wol Euler: so I shall see you all anon, my dears-

Calvino Rabeni: Hmmm, is it thursday already?

Darren Islar: I'm glad when I get bored, it means I have more energy left

Zaldaan Sirnah: a story with a point, in this case?

Darren Islar: then I used too

    Wol Euler: oh wait

Darren Islar: bye Wol, have fun :)

Wol Euler: gaya just sent around a group IM, I assumed it was now

    Calvino Rabeni: that

Calvino Rabeni: is a good insight Darren

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: yes, you're right, it was thursday.

Wol Euler: says so in the title but not hte body

Wol Euler: however since I'm standing anyway, I shall keep moving

    Wol Euler: goodnight all

    Darren Islar: nite Wol

    Calvino Rabeni: bye :)

Darren Islar: but I guess to me there are two types of being bored

    Darren Islar: three actually

Darren Islar: one is having more energy then I anticipated, which is good

Darren Islar: two is being bored, for having no energy at all

Darren Islar: three is bored because I do my daiy things, but nothing is happening

    Calvino Rabeni: _/!\_

Darren Islar: tv is a lefesavier for me, killing the second boredome

    Darren Islar: *lifesavier

Calvino Rabeni: Boredom is a terrible thing to waste

Calvino Rabeni: says /me, coining a new platitude

    Darren Islar: :))

Darren Islar: well it is a nice platitude to contemplate about :)

Calvino Rabeni: why isn't "having no energy at all" the state of being "relaxed" and therefore enjoyable, or perhaps, not noticeable?

Darren Islar: well, to me having no energy is not being relaxed, on the contrary

Darren Islar: but that is my situation

    Mickorod Renard: hello

    Darren Islar: hi Mick :)

    Calvino Rabeni: Hello Mick

    Mickorod Renard: :)

Darren Islar: I try to get more relaxed by watching some telly, the only thing that draws the less energy

Darren Islar: so it helps me to relax

Darren Islar: the second shift is coming in :)

Mickorod Renard: sometimes I feel invigorated,,or recharged when doing some activities,,like appreciating nature

Calvino Rabeni: Yes, I like those energising activities too

Darren Islar: when you have a healthy body, then that is true

Mickorod Renard: what is relaxed,,does it have to be nutral,,without recharge?

Darren Islar: well, you missed a part

    Mickorod Renard: ahh

    Mickorod Renard: sorry

Darren Islar: if I have no energy, I'm not relaxed

    Darren Islar: don't be :)

Calvino Rabeni: There was a pop song years ago - "If you can't be with the one you Love, love the one you're with"

Mickorod Renard: I feel a bit that way too

Calvino Rabeni: It pertains to boredom also, I believe

Darren Islar: I think Ara crahsed

Mickorod Renard: boredom makes me agitated

Calvino Rabeni: As to define boredom as the inability to love one's current state of being

    Mickorod Renard: restless

    Calvino Rabeni: Restless is energy

    Mickorod Renard: yes

    Mickorod Renard: pent up

Darren Islar: hmmm, I guess that is a pretty good definition

    Calvino Rabeni: WB arabella

    Mickorod Renard: Hi Ara

Darren Islar: but what is the restlesness

Darren Islar: like there needs to be something that isn't there

    Darren Islar: hi Ara :)

Mickorod Renard: if boredom is restless then the opposite must be rsted?

arabella Ella: I must have a good look at Zaldaan's socks before Quiver comes over

Calvino Rabeni: We can distinguish boredom from apathy

Darren Islar: I'm afraid he is wearing shoes

    arabella Ella: :)

    arabella Ella: was only joking

    Darren Islar: I know :)

Mickorod Renard: so maybe we need to feel activeky stimulated to feel properly relaxed?

arabella Ella: goes to show you had a peek too Darren

Darren Islar: but I am easily distracted today

Calvino Rabeni: Relaxation is a pretty dynamic way to be

Calvino Rabeni: lots of energy flow, I think

Mickorod Renard: yes,,but with some contentment?

Calvino Rabeni: boredom has energy that is stuck

arabella Ella: can one not sleep like having a siesta to relax?

    --BELL--

Mickorod Renard: if you are disturbed often sleep is impossible

    Mickorod Renard: oops

    Darren Islar mon

    Mickorod Renard: amis

Darren Islar: my monkey is happily jumping up and down :)

Calvino Rabeni: is there a "natural mind" or some such, and if it is not bored, then what state does it have?

    arabella Ella: :)

Darren Islar: I tink if there is a natural mind, it is not bored

Mickorod Renard: interesting thought,,cos even when we are asleep the mind is still on the go

arabella Ella: there are or could be many states which are opposed to boredom i think Calvino, some could involve 'flow', others restfullness or inactivity, others intense activity which one enjoys, etc

arabella Ella: i think we look for some sort of balance in life but that balance is often difficult if not impossible to achieve, but no harm in striving to achieve it

Mickorod Renard: I am drawn to the word appreciating,,when the mind is appreciating its content,,and without stress

    Darren Islar: need to go

Darren Islar: thanks for the discussion

    arabella Ella: bye Darren

    Darren Islar: bye all :)

    Mickorod Renard: bye daz

Calvino Rabeni: appreciating seems like dropping boredom - a result of that, or maybe also, a way to do it

arabella Ella: how do you think boredom is related to restlessness?

Calvino Rabeni: I think they go together quite often

Calvino Rabeni: as a stack of interpretations of the same energy, seen differentlyh

arabella Ella: yes could be ... and interesting to see how you relate them to energy

arabella Ella: kids may exhibit restless when they are beginning to get bored

Calvino Rabeni: Yes, under it there's the energy of a wish

arabella Ella: and ... could the wish be more specific you think? a wish for something to happen or something to do?

Mickorod Renard: is appreciation another word for stimulated?

Calvino Rabeni: I wouldn't say that - appreciation has more to it

Calvino Rabeni: a two way flow in appreciation

Mickorod Renard: yes,,i like that idea Cal

Calvino Rabeni: To me, stimulation talks about one-way flow

    --BELL--

Calvino Rabeni: One could be "over-stimulated" but I don't think, "too appreciative"

Mickorod Renard: appreciating is an acceptance of something I think

    Mickorod Renard: absorbing

Calvino Rabeni: Acceptance with a degree of communion, participation in that thing

Calvino Rabeni: thus it is kind of energizing

    Mickorod Renard: yes

    Yakuzza Lethecus: good night everyone

    Calvino Rabeni: Good night Yaku

    Mickorod Renard: nite yaku

    Mickorod Renard: sleep well

Calvino Rabeni: Calvino Rabeni remembers to catch up on viewing of Yakuzza movies :)

    arabella Ella: nite yaku

Calvino Rabeni: I think it is siesta time - thanks for the chat

Calvino Rabeni: seee youlater, be well

    arabella Ella: bye Calvino

    Mickorod Renard: bye Cal

Mickorod Renard: hey,,did u want to try this tp?
