    Our second life

    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey eden
    Eden Haiku: Hey Yaku, welcome!
Yakuzza Lethecus: it's too warm in germany
Yakuzza Lethecus: even tho it's only in the 70-80th :P
Eden Haiku: Send me some, here it is very cold and gray.
Yakuzza Lethecus: i bet bleu can provide you with some nice weather too :)
    Eden Haiku: Yes :)
Eden Haiku: Hope the summer will be better than the last one: it rained almost all summer ...
Eden Haiku: You find 80 F too hot?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hehe
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, when ur under the roof :)
Eden Haiku: Ah yes, I see...no air then :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: here it goes up to the 90th
Eden Haiku: Yes, here also. 80F is perfect I think. Over, is always a bit too much. Especially when it is humid.
    Eden Haiku: ;)
Eden Haiku: How are you today Yaku?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: just coming home
    Yakuzza Lethecus: haven't had coffee
Yakuzza Lethecus: switched the pc on, feel a bit weired
Yakuzza Lethecus: and thought too much about my approach to sl and some contacts
Eden Haiku: Your approach to SL?

Bleu Oleander: how lovely all the poppies!!
Eden Haiku: Hi Bleu, you look beautiful as always:) Did I hear the bell?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey bleu
Eden Haiku: It doesn't show in the chat...Oh yes, that was the first one...
Eden Haiku: Yaku was opening up with his approach to SL. Tell us more Yaku?
    Bleu Oleander: hi druth
    druth Vlodovic: hey
    Eden Haiku: Hello Druth.
Bleu Oleander: Eden, I don't recognize you today :)
Eden Haiku: I know, I have been experimenting with new hair and new clothes. Not too happy with it, but had no time to change into something else :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey druth
Eden Haiku: I liked the colors but when I put the dress on, it was not what I had in mind. ..
    Bleu Oleander: that happens :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: actually i was telling that i was just thinking too much about my approach to sl today
Eden Haiku: We should have a fashion art exhibit maybe...
    Bleu Oleander: Oooo fun Eden
Yakuzza Lethecus: if the time spent on it is right or what to change, nothing constructive tho
Bleu Oleander: do you think you spend too much time Yaku?
Eden Haiku: Do you feel you spend too much time in SL?
    Bleu Oleander: SNAP
    druth Vlodovic: impossible :)
Eden Haiku: almost***think/feel****ah ah, same really :)
Eden Haiku: Using the laptop here, I'm not crashing anymore and ended up spending more time in SL. It is addictive. Hours go by without noticing.
    Bleu Oleander: yes!
Eden Haiku: Even just trying to adjust new hair can take half an hour...
    Bleu Oleander: ha!
Eden Haiku: What is impossible Druth, spending too much time in SL?
Yakuzza Lethecus: i better wouldn't have mentioned it, i am not sure if i spend too much time in sl, but i definetly need to come to a clearer picture of it
druth Vlodovic: well, I'd say Yakuzza has the hair problem licked :)
    Bleu Oleander: hehe
druth Vlodovic: what do you do on SL now?
Eden Haiku: Yes, he spends probably more time in philosophy workshops than in adjusting new clothes :-))
Yakuzza Lethecus: in rl i've just fallen into my chair while thinkin that i would be on the couch with closed eyes actually
Yakuzza Lethecus: but it's habitual to come here :P
Yakuzza Lethecus: and i didn't wanted to leave right away when i logged in :)
druth Vlodovic: sometimes it's a question as to which is more intellectually challenging :)
Eden Haiku: Oh, it is nice to have you Yaku but if you feel like taking a nap, please do :-)

Real life issues: sleep, coffee, work, being puzzled and birds with two more players: Zen and a too rare Corvuscorva

Eden Haiku: We will guard your sleep telepathically, no worries :-) Go ahead dear ((Yaku))
    Yakuzza Lethecus: thx :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: i will cook a coffee real quick
druth Vlodovic: shh :) we'll keep him awake
Eden Haiku: Sleep is good for your brain, refreshes both body and brain ;)
Yakuzza Lethecus: i can't sleep later otherwise :)
Eden Haiku: Usually, it is the other way around...;)
Yakuzza Lethecus: it's terrible when you stay awake until 2-3 am in the morning and have to get up at 4:30
Yakuzza Lethecus: that only happens when i take naps in the afternoon
Yakuzza Lethecus: otherwise my sleeppattern is ok
Eden Haiku: Yes, you go to work so early Yaku, you must miss your sleep.
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: sorry, Zen
    Zen Arado: Hi all
Eden Haiku: SL and the Web in general have also changed my sleep patterns. I sleep less than before. Which is not a good thing.
    Zen Arado: sorry my fault
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: Hi ya'll.
Bleu Oleander: hi Cor, Zen :)
Eden Haiku: Hi Zen. Corvuscorva, nice to see you this morning ;-)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: Nice to see you, too!
Eden Haiku: We were talking about SL and sleep patterns ;)
Eden Haiku: How are yu doing this morning Zen, Cor?
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I'm very well, and you?
    Zen Arado: not bad thanks
Eden Haiku: Bleu, you came up with some new art project in the mail but I can't remember what it is. Would you refresh our memories?
    Zen Arado: it's puzzling
Eden Haiku: Ah yes, a puzzle...
Bleu Oleander: yes .... Being Puzzled
Eden Haiku: From some quote by Pema in the Watching Time session...
Bleu Oleander: I'm going to use a rubik's cube as my theme
Eden Haiku: Is that what the fountain cube in your plot is about?
Bleu Oleander: yes at a recent time session the metaphor of a puzzle came up
Zen Arado: is life a puzzle?
    Bleu Oleander: yes
Zen Arado: or maybe we make it into one?
Bleu Oleander: it's the begining of a "set" for my photo
Eden Haiku: Puzzle makes me think of synchronicities.
Zen Arado: what are they Eden?
Eden Haiku: Unrelated events that are related?
Yakuzza Lethecus: hey zen, huhu corvie :)
    Corvuscorva Nightfire grins at Yak.
Eden Haiku: Like is Yaku saluting Corvi with huhu imitating a bird intentionnaly? Or not?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: lol
    Corvuscorva Nightfire guffaws.
Yakuzza Lethecus: in german chat we say huhu more often :P
    Yakuzza Lethecus: lol
    Corvuscorva Nightfire nods.
Yakuzza Lethecus: we also say guckguck :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: so much for birds :P
Corvuscorva Nightfire: Yak, in what circumstances would you say guckguck?
Eden Haiku: Saw many ravens yesterday on a hike, hoping for a heron ;)
Yakuzza Lethecus: good question, i just do it sometimes :)
Zen Arado: saw both on Saturday :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: nevermind, nice to see you in the circle after a long time
    Eden Haiku: Lucky Zen!
Yakuzza Lethecus: i haven't seen corvi in a while
Corvuscorva Nightfire: it's nice to be here.
    Corvuscorva Nightfire nods.
Eden Haiku: Yes, it is a joy seeing you again :)

Synchronicities and synchronized birds and bing! Zen finds the title for this log!

    Eden Haiku: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Synchronicity @Zen
    Bleu Oleander: hey Storm
    Zen Arado: ty Eden
Eden Haiku: So the project would be to contemplate life's puzzle and create a sculpture about it Bleu?
    Zen Arado: Hi Storm
Storm Nordwind: .me waves to everyone
Eden Haiku: Hi Storm, good morning ;)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: Storm! How nice to see you!
    Bleu Oleander: brb
    Storm Nordwind beams
Eden Haiku: We were talking about puzzles and synchronicities Storm, and birds :)
Storm Nordwind: That seems a set of fascinating topics
Eden Haiku: By the way, would anyone here would know the English name for birds flying together in a pattern?
Corvuscorva Nightfire: like blackbirds do? or like geese do?
    Eden Haiku: Yes, Cor
    Storm Nordwind: squadron?
Yakuzza Lethecus: you mean bird migration ?
Zen Arado: not sure we have one
Storm Nordwind: I think means a collective noun
Eden Haiku: Been looking for the word for a while. In French we use "vollier'
    Zen Arado: usually just 'flock'
Eden Haiku: Yes, I have seen squadron Storm, is that the right one you think?
    Eden Haiku: Ah yes, flock...
Storm Nordwind: Flock is disorganized though. I think Eden means holding to a pattern
Corvuscorva Nightfire: nods..I don't think there's a name for the things that groups of birds do  really?
Zen Arado: thinks of planes with squadron
Corvuscorva Nightfire: because "flying in patterns" is different from being "a group of birds?"
Storm Nordwind: There are plenty of collective nouns for different sorts of birds, but not specially as a flying formation
Eden Haiku: I have seen a very spetacular example in Delhi, in a strange setting. On rooftops.
    druth Vlodovic: geese, vs crows
Storm Nordwind: gaggle of geese, murder of crows, storm of sparrows etc
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: blackbirds vs crows.
Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles..but those are words for "groups of birds"
Corvuscorva Nightfire: not "patterns of birds."
    Storm Nordwind: yes.
    Storm Nordwind: exactly
Eden Haiku: Carrier-pigeons were let out from many different roofs by some piegonman and were flying, circling in patterns on rooftops.
Storm Nordwind: "a wedge of geese" for geese flying in formation
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: yes!@
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: nods...
    Storm Nordwind: also for swans
Corvuscorva Nightfire: but what blackbirds do for patterns is different than "a wedge"
Eden Haiku: It lasted for 3 hours, it was amazing. So beautiful to watch the birds catching the light, each group merging into the other and then separating again..
    Corvuscorva Nightfire muses
    Storm Nordwind: http://palomaraudubon.org/collective.html
Corvuscorva Nightfire nods...yes...yes, Eden..I did that once, too...watched that.
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: in blackbirds.
Eden Haiku: Oh, that is a good reference Storm, thanks so much!
Storm Nordwind: Then - for such a large number over a long period - "a migration"
druth Vlodovic: good grief, I thought a brace of ducks was after you hunted them
Eden Haiku: And they had special sounds to call the pigeons and to send them away.
Corvuscorva Nightfire likes the "murmuration of sparrows"
Eden Haiku: Where did you see that Corvuscova?
    Storm Nordwind: startlings
Zen Arado: starlings form huge congregations at certain times of the year
    Storm Nordwind: starling
Corvuscorva Nightfire: in Storm's list...I'm also imagining your pigeons coming and going to the calls.
Storm Nordwind can't thaip this morning
Corvuscorva Nightfire: oh yes..it was starlings.
    Zen Arado: http://www.rspb.org.uk/wildlife/bird.../roosting.aspx
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: murmuration of starlings.
Eden Haiku: Thai Ping Storm :)))
Corvuscorva Nightfire: and that "murmuration" may be exactly the pattern I'm thinking of.
    Storm Nordwind chuckles
Storm Nordwind: I was trying to find a collective noun for thunderstorms yesterday, without much success
    Zen Arado: or susurration?
Eden Haiku: I love that word "murmuration", it is evoking sounds, murmurs yes?
Corvuscorva Nightfire: sussaration...mmm...what a beautiful word
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: nods.
*****Zen Arado: 'a soft susurration of conversation'*****
Corvuscorva Nightfire imagines Eden's pigeons gliding in a group to and from their human friends.

Eden Haiku: The way the birds fly together reminds me of us, having conversations, exchanging words, connecting through the web
    Corvuscorva Nightfire nods...yes. Me too.
Zen Arado: and cooing - I saw two rock doves on Saturday
druth Vlodovic: a "gaggle of teens"
    Corvuscorva Nightfire giggles.
    Eden Haiku: Minds flying
Corvuscorva Nightfire watches the murmuration of blackbirds travel across a swamp for hours.
Zen Arado: a 'oneness' of minds
Storm Nordwind: a flight of thoughts
Eden Haiku: Murmurations sussurations and cooings...
Corvuscorva Nightfire watches one blackbird, then another travel across her vision
Corvuscorva Nightfire: watches them for hours flying...in a circle, she wonders? There are so many, it never ends...it must be a circle, she decides.

A missing heron and how to write a novel: starting at the end!

Eden Haiku: Blackbirds, ravens, pigeons, rock doves, geese and a missing heron
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: heheh
Zen Arado: the susurration of the blood
Eden Haiku: Was looking for it because the heron brings blessings to writing :)
    Corvuscorva Nightfire: it does?
Eden Haiku: Yes, it is the Egyptian god Thot, the god of scriptures
Eden Haiku: Thot is represented as a heron
Corvuscorva Nightfire: nods....a heron head, anyway?
Corvuscorva Nightfire: on a guy's body?
Eden Haiku: I always read the sight of a heron as a sign I should trust inspiration ;)
Storm Nordwind: I think it's an ibis
Zen Arado: a grey Heron frequents where I live
Eden Haiku: Yes, you are right Storm. It is the same family no?
Eden Haiku: We don't have ibis here ;)
Zen Arado: it perches on the rocks on the far side of the marina
Corvuscorva Nightfire grins...I think "heron" ought ot work!
Storm Nordwind: Different family really. But what works for you is important! :)
Eden Haiku: Aren't you lucky Zen. He is bringing blessings to your writing. Are you writing these days?
    Zen Arado: me? no
Eden Haiku: Yes, I guess I will have to settle for heron. I have been worshipping herons for years ;))
Zen Arado: what would I write?
Eden Haiku: Didn't you plan to write about your adventures in Australia?
    Zen Arado: ah yes
Zen Arado: I have to get around to that
Zen Arado: a friend sent me some of his recollections
Zen Arado: funny - I don't remember some of the things he does
Eden Haiku: Sometimes a subject just eludes us. We don't feel like writing about it anymore.
Zen Arado: I just don't remember any more
Zen Arado: funny how we remember some things
Eden Haiku: I have been writing at least 10 "first chapters' of my current novel and I tired of them all...
    Corvuscorva Nightfire nods....
Zen Arado: I am not creative enough for that kind of writing
Zen Arado: but then again....I have never tried
Eden Haiku: Who told you you were not creative enough Zen?
    Eden Haiku: Ah!
Zen Arado: how do you know anyway?
druth Vlodovic: lol, try writing the last chapter instead eden

Storm Nordwind recalls advising Eden to do that with her last book! ;-D)
Eden Haiku: :) @Druth and @ Storm, yes, you did. It was for the same book. Still not written :))
druth Vlodovic: ah, didn't work then
Zen Arado: do you try 'freewriting'?
Eden Haiku: I'm ok with it, I'm just waiting. It is like being on vacation :))
Corvuscorva Nightfire: it doesn't sound a bit like failure, but a lot like waiting?
Storm Nordwind: Perhaps your Muse needs an offering of some sort? ;)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I've started a thousand stories, and I never finished the ones that were really good, but have finished a few that are not.
Eden Haiku: No, this time I practice waiting. Somehow, the book is already there. I am walking towards it. Trying to hear it, to synthonise it like a radio channel from outerspace or something :)))
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I much prefer the ones I haven't finished.
    Zen Arado: http://www.wikihow.com/Freewrite
druth Vlodovic: hey Storm, lets write a book about how to write a novel, sounds lots easier than writing a novel :-?
Storm Nordwind: I think that's why I like micropoetry forms - it's not far from beginning to end!
    Corvuscorva Nightfire laughs, nods.
Eden Haiku: Did that, won literary awards with it Druth ;))
    Zen Arado: nods :)
Storm Nordwind: You write it druth, and I'll buy it :)
Storm Nordwind watches Bleu wade through a puddle of poppies
Bleu Oleander: sry took longer than I thought :)
Eden Haiku: I know one thing about the book. It will be less than 100 pages. I want to go to the core, no frills kind of book ;))
Zen Arado: I found freewriting very beneficial when writing a philosophy dissertation

Bleu comes back to the session after having left a short while and we talk about the Puzzle Project: the more I hear about it, the more puzzled I am by my lack of building skills, hence my brilliant idea to team up with Storm-the-Magician: will he accept me as his devoted disciple? To be followed...

Eden Haiku: Welcome back Bleu :))
    Bleu Oleander: :)
    Zen Arado: wb Bleu
Eden Haiku: I'm too good at freewriting, it wouldn't help. :)
druth Vlodovic: I have a book "100 science fiction short short stories" the shortest story is, I think, two words long
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I think I must go for now....thank you for the wonderful session.
Eden Haiku: @Corvuscova No, I do not feel it is failure, Not just the right time. Baby is not ready to be born yet :)
Storm Nordwind: Condense the book into a game of Consequences, and write a poem in answer to each question in the game
    Yakuzza Lethecus: take care corvie
    Zen Arado: bye Corvus
    Corvuscorva Nightfire nods. Bye all!
Eden Haiku: Thanks to you Corvuscorva, such an inspiring presence!
    Storm Nordwind: Bye Corvi!
    Bleu Oleander: bye Corvi
Zen Arado: I was amazed at the things that came up when I freewrote
Zen Arado: it's as if I am too critical to get things out otherwise
Eden Haiku: Coming back to the Art Project, would it be sculpties Bleu?
druth Vlodovic: what is freewriting, like stream of consciousness?
    Bleu Oleander: I'm thinking photographs
    Storm Nordwind: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_writing
    Bleu Oleander: done from builds
Eden Haiku: Photographs of something we built?
Bleu Oleander: so no limit on set design, just photos
    Bleu Oleander: yes
Eden Haiku: Ah, better hone my skills :)))
Storm Nordwind: Is this the puzzle project?
    Bleu Oleander: yes
Bleu Oleander: so build the puzzle and photo it
Storm Nordwind: photos only, not models of puzzles then?
Bleu Oleander: build the model and take the pic
Eden Haiku: Oh, that would be great!
Eden Haiku: To visit I mean ;))
Storm Nordwind: How will people interact with the puzzle then?
Bleu Oleander: photo can have a link to where the puzzle is
    Storm Nordwind: I see
    Eden Haiku: Ah!
Bleu Oleander: so you can have two experiences
Eden Haiku: Can we work in teams.. like I would team with Storm ;)) he he
    Bleu Oleander: teams are great
    Storm Nordwind laughs
Bleu Oleander: I already started my puzzle
Zen Arado: except the England team :(
Eden Haiku: It's a deal then?
Storm Nordwind: oxymoron there surely Zen
Bleu Oleander: to get ppl thinking
Eden Haiku: Where is your puzzle Bleu?
Zen Arado: plenty of oxymorons on that team :)
Bleu Oleander: on my PaB plot
    Bleu Oleander: a rubik's cube
Eden Haiku: Oh, that is the set with the fountain photo?
    Bleu Oleander: yes
Zen Arado: sorry shouldn't be so critical
Bleu Oleander: a work in progress
Bleu Oleander: but already getting some interesting photos

People start leaving and Gaya pops in as we talk about the Being Puzzled Project some more (greedy me trying to seal the deal with Storm he he)

    Zen Arado: dinnertime for me
    Zen Arado: bye all
Eden Haiku: What are you having Zen?
Zen Arado: cold salmon with Anya potatoes and salad
    Eden Haiku: Humm,, enjoy!
Zen Arado: haven't tried this type of potato but am told they are delicious
Bleu Oleander: so this project will be for July .... don't have a date yet .... will leave the current photos up till then
    Bleu Oleander: bye Zen
Storm Nordwind observes Bleu has a cube of cubes, hollowed with one missing in the middle, on her plot
    Bleu Oleander: yes
Eden Haiku: bye Zen. Good idea to leave the photos, as I was walking here I discovered another photo on the back of Eliza's well .
Bleu Oleander: gtg .... have a great day everyone :)
    Storm Nordwind waves
Eden Haiku: Bye Bleu, have a nice day too!
    Bleu Oleander: bye bye
    druth Vlodovic: cya
    Eden Haiku: Bye Druth ;)
druth Vlodovic: I'm off too, have fun all
Eden Haiku: Wondering if Yaku is dreaming about birds as he is napping on his couch...
    Storm Nordwind chuckles
Yakuzza Lethecus: no i am here
    Storm Nordwind: Hello Gaya!
Eden Haiku: Oh, you did not take a nap. Ah yes, you had the coffee instead.;)
    Gaya Ethaniel wonders ... people still here ^^;;;
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey gaya
Eden Haiku: Hello Gaya , welcome :))
    Storm Nordwind: It's Eden's magnetic presence :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello everyone :) A marathon session?
Eden Haiku: No, we were just talking with Corvuscova and Bleu and Druth, about birds and writing and art projects and time drifted...
Gaya Ethaniel: ah ... didn't see Corvi online I was afk a lot.
Eden Haiku: Seriously Storm would you work in a team with me? I would be gladly your disciple. I could learn so much.
Eden Haiku: And maybe Yaku could join us too?
Eden Haiku: And we could use voice?
Storm Nordwind: If you wish... though aren't you rather busy writing a novel (or relaxing in the Laurentians)? :-)
Storm Nordwind: I think I need to see Bleu's definition of the project first. Did she detail it earlier (then I can read the log)?
Eden Haiku: Well, I'm waiting for inspiration so might as well. I would not be very available next week though, my Indian friends are visiting...
Storm Nordwind: We have time. And I already have an idea :)
Eden Haiku: No, the project is not ready yet. So we will see later, how it dvelops, I agree :)
Gaya Ethaniel: Well I need to go. Have fun everyone :)
    Storm Nordwind waves
Eden Haiku: I'm sure you have tons of ideas,,,
Eden Haiku: Bye Gaya, sorry we finished a conversation without including you :))
Storm Nordwind: And I have space to build it on my land next door
Eden Haiku: Next to the temple?
Storm Nordwind: No. I would not use my guardian plot
Eden Haiku: Oh right, I did not think of that, we need space...
Storm Nordwind: The temple stays inviolate
Eden Haiku: Good. I like the temple.
Storm Nordwind: But I own a 1/4 sim to the west
Storm Nordwind: and part of it is a park we can build on
    Eden Haiku: Nice :)
Storm Nordwind: the boundary is adjacent to the pavilion
Storm Nordwind: in Mieum, the next sim
    Eden Haiku: Ah yes...
Storm Nordwind: There's yak looking after it at the moment, so Yak will feel at home
Storm Nordwind: (It's where the ice rink was)
Eden Haiku: Had so much fun in the ice rink last winter. Seems a long time ago :-))

Storm Nordwind: Don't worry - the days are already getting shorter and winter will be here again soon!
Storm Nordwind apologizes to any readers in the southern hemisphere
Eden Haiku: It looks like winter here by the way... I'm thinking of building a fire in the fireplace before we have lunch. The rain comes and go.
Storm Nordwind: It's 9:30 am here and the temperature is already 30 degC
Eden Haiku: Wow! And it is warm in Germany also...This is our short summer and it is gray and raining and cold. Sighs...
Storm Nordwind: 39.4 degrees a day or two ago
Eden Haiku: Think I will start picking up my poppies and build this fire before it gets too cold...:)
    Storm Nordwind chuckles
    Storm Nordwind: Good idea
Storm Nordwind: So good to see you :)
Eden Haiku: Yes, here too Storm :) Bye Yaku!
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye eden
Eden Haiku: Take a nap now, Yaku, it will refresh you :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: i propably just organized a world trip for a stuffed animal of mine
Eden Haiku: I'm going to build a fire in RL' it is cold!
Eden Haiku: A world trip for a stuffed animal wow!
Eden Haiku: Will ask you about it next time we meet :))
    Yakuzza Lethecus: take care
    Yakuzza Lethecus: get warmer!
