    1. 1.

The Guardian for this meeting was Maxine Walden. The comments are by Maxine Walden.

As I came to the session Bruce was mentioning some about PaB to his friend Io.  The session proceeded in a rather lyrical manner, with us intermittently sitting in the fountain, to cool our heels or get into the swim, similar to Bruce's little fish, Blub.

Io Larkspur: Anything special I should know about this????
Bruce Mowbray: Mmmmm. Just be yourself.
Bruce Mowbray: And -- there will be a break every 15 minutes -- so don't type anything during that break -- it last for 90 seconds each time.
    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Maxine.
    Io Larkspur: Hello, Maxine.
    Maxine Walden: hi, Bruce, Io.
Maxine Walden: Thanks, Bruce for giving Io some tips about PaB and what we are about
Io Larkspur: Is there someplace I should sit (or NOT sit!)?
Maxine Walden: please sit anywhere you like
Bruce Mowbray: Io's first time here. We met in New York!
    Maxine Walden: ah, how interesting
    Io Larkspur: :)
Bruce Mowbray: Is it OK to tell them, Io?
    Io Larkspur: Of course!
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey everyone
Maxine Walden: Did you mention,Bruce, that we log these sessions, and would it be ok with Io to have her contributions on our log?
    Maxine Walden: hi, Yaku
Bruce Mowbray: We met at the Hotel Chelsea party last night.
    Layla Nordenskiold: elinor?
    Maxine Walden: hello, Layla
Io Larkspur: I will just take a seat, then.
    Wol Euler: hello everyone
    Yakuzza Lethecus: nabend wol :)
    Maxine Walden: hi, Wol
    Layla Nordenskiold: hello everyone :)
Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Maxine, Layla, Wol, Yaku.
Maxine Walden: A couple of new persons for me here, is everyone aware of our logging these text sessions and is it OK to have your contributions on our log as well?
Io Larkspur: That's OK with me.
Io Larkspur: Bruce told me a little bit about the group.
    Maxine Walden: good, Io, good.
Maxine Walden: Are we a bit meditative today?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: daydreaming
    Yakuzza Lethecus: :)
    Wol Euler smiles
Maxine Walden: ah :) a kind of meditative daydream...
    Layla Nordenskiold: ok
Wol Euler wonders whether that is like lucid dreaming.
    Maxine Walden: :) hmm
Maxine Walden: maybe so, Wol, if we include all of our experience as 'dreaming' of a sort...
Maxine Walden: I was quite moved this morning in the guardian session with the spaciousness we all seemed to feel, so that there was space to swim around gently nourished by each others' comments and thoughts, sort of lke blub swimming together
    Wol Euler: :)
    Io Larkspur: ;-)
Bruce Mowbray: Blub blushes... but agrees with Maxine.
    Maxine Walden: :))
    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Bleu.
Maxine Walden: musing about a blushing blue blub
    Bleu Oleander: hi all :)
Bruce Mowbray: Do you think I shold tell Blub to stand still?
    Wol Euler: hello bleu
Bruce Mowbray: If he's disturbing anyone -- I'll happily do that.
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hi bleu :)
    Wol Euler: naaah
    Io Larkspur: :)
Maxine Walden: not at all, Bruce, blub's swimming is actually lovely to watch, at least for me
Maxine Walden: ah, Bleu, what a lovely outfit!!
    Bleu Oleander: oh ty Maxine
Bruce Mowbray: Blub blushes even more.
    Maxine Walden: :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: anyone ?
Io Larkspur: \me thinks Oh dear!
Bruce Mowbray: It's OK, Io. We do this sometimes.
    Io Larkspur: whew!
    Bleu Oleander: refreshing :)
Maxine Walden: haha we are all cooling off, it seems
Io Larkspur: [all of us except Blub -- tee hee]
Maxine Walden: ah yes, maybe we are just joining Blub in his/her medium///
    Maxine Walden: ...swimming together
    Bruce Mowbray: Coooool.
    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Steve.
Maxine Walden: hi, Steve, cool your heels with us
Wol Euler: hello steve, cool your feet inthe fountain
    Bleu Oleander: hi steve
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Io Larkspur: hot feet -- amazing!
stevenaia Michinaga: to much dancing last night
Maxine Walden: ah, some like it hot?
    Wol Euler: heheh
Bruce Mowbray: Come on in, Steve.
stevenaia Michinaga: as soon as I know I won;t sit on someone I will (rezzing in progress)
    Io Larkspur: :)
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
    Bruce Mowbray: SPLash!
Maxine Walden: Blub says the water's fine

    I wondered about PaB topics

Maxine Walden: any PaB thoughts, musings to share?  And there was some question about the Friday morning Time sessions

Bruce Mowbray: ooopsss caps on -- sorry...
Wol Euler: send him an e-mail :)
    Maxine Walden: :)
Wol Euler: simplest way to deal with that
Bruce Mowbray: OK. I intend to do that.
    Bruce Mowbray: TY!
stevenaia Michinaga: how was friday morning's session, I have not read the log if it was posted
Wol Euler blushes and looks at the ground. NOt posted yet, sorry.
Io Larkspur: Is this a "Time Session"?
Wol Euler: oh, did you mean Time at 6am?
stevenaia Michinaga: no, (could be) , but yes I was refering to that one Wol
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, that's what I was talking about/ There are other groups, Io -- besides this one.
Bruce Mowbray: Wait a minute -- was there a Time Session at 6 a.m. today??
    stevenaia Michinaga: no, on Friday
Maxine Walden: don't think so, Bruce, on Friday
    Bruce Mowbray: 's what I thought --- whew!That
Bleu Oleander: every friday 6AM slt
    Bruce Mowbray: yep.
Bruce Mowbray: Could Io attend that one if she wanted to?
    Bleu Oleander: sure
Io Larkspur: nono -- sorry I have to work at that time. But thanks for the thought, Bruce.
    Io Larkspur: TY, everyone.
    Io Larkspur: (?)

Agatha's coming followed by others, seemed to put the squeeze on the space within the circle, folks seeming to be stepping on one another

    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Agatha.
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi everybody
    Bleu Oleander: hi Agatha :)
    Wol Euler: hello aggers
    Io Larkspur: Hi, Agatha.
Wol Euler: ah, the circle is full
    Agatha Macbeth: And wet
Maxine Walden: Were you wondering about the 90 sec pause, Io, just now?
    Agatha Macbeth: Ouch
    Wol Euler: bite his ankles
Maxine Walden: sorry if I stepped on anyone
    Agatha Macbeth: ;-)
    Yakuzza Lethecus is sweating
    Agatha Macbeth: Ty
    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Arch.
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey arch
    Wol Euler: hello arch
Agatha Macbeth: Hello Arch, nice to see you
    Maxine Walden: hi, Arch

Io asks how many people in the group which leads to wider topics about PaB

Io Larkspur wonders how many people are in this group!
    Wol Euler: over seventy
    Wol Euler: currently
Agatha Macbeth: About 65 i think
    Io Larkspur: Really!
    Agatha Macbeth: -ish
Wol Euler: 72 guardians in the autologger list
    Agatha Macbeth: Whoa
    Maxine Walden: :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: some are sleeping
Agatha Macbeth: But we don't see somem of the much
    Wol Euler nods.
Bruce Mowbray: We meet every six hours -- all over the world, Io.
Archmage Atlantis: ty, is there a topic?
Maxine Walden: we are kind of 'in the swim', Arch...no specific topic today as yet it seems
Agatha Macbeth: Blub is in the swim especially
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
    Io Larkspur: ::))
Archmage Atlantis: In the lhe land of the swim sounds like a topic
Agatha Macbeth: Wow Bleu, you look amazing
Bleu Oleander: oh ty Agatha :)

And Arch asks a question which seems interestingly to be answered by parallel conversation about 'work in progress'...

Archmage Atlantis: where is one when one is no where at all
Bleu Oleander: a work in progress
    Wol Euler: ooh, yes indeed.
Agatha Macbeth: Can't wait for the finished product
    Bleu Oleander: coming soon :)
    Agatha Macbeth: :)
Maxine Walden: perhaps the comments about Bleu's work in progress apply to your question, Arh about where is one when one is no where at all, that is, a work in progress
    Maxine Walden: Arch
    Maxine Walden: hi, QT
Bleu Oleander: hopefully we remain that way :)
    Wol Euler: hello qt

We continue to wonder about the grouping and perhaps its impact on the flow of conversation today

stevenaia Michinaga: wonders if if this empty pillow next to me is causing the break in the flow of thought today?
Bleu Oleander: maybe Blub could take it
    Bruce Mowbray: ;)
Maxine Walden: as if a break in the circle, Steve?
    Agatha Macbeth: Feng Shui?
    stevenaia Michinaga: nods
Archmage Atlantis: It will heal itself
    Archmage Atlantis: give it time
Io Larkspur: What happened to Blub??
Bruce Mowbray: It's ok, Io -- Past his bedtime.
    Maxine Walden: :))
Archmage Atlantis: Asks Freddy to find

As Bruce sees Blub to bed he then offers some self observations which begins a to and fro especially it seemed to me between him and Arch and Stevenia

Bruce Mowbray: Am experimenting with "back off" during the 60 sec breaks.
Bruce Mowbray: also during the 9 secs every 15 minutes---
    Bruce Mowbray: backing waaayyyyyy offff.
    Bleu Oleander: bye everyone :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: take care bleu
Maxine Walden: Bruce, did you want to say more?
Bruce Mowbray: Well. . . I back way off -- and become a distant spectator to myself...
Bruce Mowbray: and I'm not clear about where the stuff rises from in my mind...
Bruce Mowbray: In my mind -- or from somewhere else...
Bruce Mowbray: I have referred to this in other sessions -- when I "talk to -- or rather LISTEN to- other species...
Bruce Mowbray: It requires my backing way off from myself.
Bruce Mowbray: It this just crazy-making??
    Bruce Mowbray: Hi Ewan

Archmage Atlantis: no, it is not Bruce
Archmage Atlantis: sorry to be so firm
    Bruce Mowbray: TY, Arch.
    Wol Euler: hello ewan
Bruce Mowbray: Backing way off to get a clearer view of the whole.
Bruce Mowbray: no lines of separation between things (mental constructs).
Bruce Mowbray: That's how I've been doing the 9-sec breaks.
stevenaia Michinaga: backing off as in dropping of sorts?
Bruce Mowbray: Yes -- dropping out of any scene that I have a personal connection to.
stevenaia Michinaga: makes for a nice place to observe from
Archmage Atlantis: What I heard, Steve, is backing off from the judgements in one;s own head
Bruce Mowbray: Well -- not always that nice... I find that it's sometimes helpful if I do the 4 Immeasurables when I am "there."
Bruce Mowbray: That becomes my "abode," as it were.
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, exactly, where else can judgements stand or not stand
Bruce Mowbray: Yes. You've got it.
    stevenaia Michinaga: (Arch)
Bruce Mowbray: It sometimes feels as if I were standing inside a miracle.
Wol Euler: oh, but you are :)
    Io Larkspur: :)
Wol Euler: for certain values of "miracle" :)
    Maxine Walden: wonderful image, concept
Layla Nordenskiold: thank you guys...I have to go now
    Io Larkspur: bye, laya.
Wol Euler: we were talking about that on friday morning, in the session that I haven't posted yet
    Layla Nordenskiold: sorry?
Io Larkspur: sorry for misspelling your name...:)
Layla Nordenskiold: yeah...that really offended me ;( sniff
    Layla Nordenskiold: no worries :)
    Wol Euler: awwww
    Layla Nordenskiold: take care!
Bruce Mowbray: ;-) =--- We all do a lot of misspelling around here, Io -- You'll get used to it.
    Layla Nordenskiold: hehe...no problem... :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: and the world championship goes toooooooooooooooooooo:
    Wol Euler waits excitedly
stevenaia Michinaga: I must be off, (who is wining?)
Yakuzza Lethecus: spain :), but in a few seconds official :)
Maxine Walden: Have to be going. See you all soon, I hope.
    Wol Euler: awwwww boo
    Maxine Walden: bye...
Wol Euler: bye maxine, take care, enjoy your sunday
Wol Euler: bye steve, same to you :)
Bruce Mowbray: bye, Wol, Maxine, Steve.

As usually occurs in this timeslot the discussion goes well beyond the hourmark, with new and stimulating conversation

    Wol Euler isn't leaving
Agatha Macbeth looks to her left
Bruce Mowbray: Oh -- welcome, Wol!
    Wol Euler: :)
Io Larkspur: we have this problem with the New York subways sometimes.
Bruce Mowbray: Can't who's coming or going?
    Archmage Atlantis: (listens)
    Io Larkspur: hah! Yes.
Io Larkspur: can't tell -- and sometimes one gives up even caring.
Archmage Atlantis: used to take path under the Hidson to the WT
    Wol Euler nods
    Io Larkspur: the tunnel?
Archmage Atlantis: the tunnel from Hoboken to NYX
Io Larkspur: yes -- but you drive, then.
Io Larkspur: I only take the trains -- sometimes buses.
    Archmage Atlantis: No,PATH went under
Io Larkspur: OK -- Sure! That goes to the WTC.
    Io Larkspur: sure.
Archmage Atlantis: came up in basement
    Io Larkspur: yes.
Io Larkspur: I've talked to tourists who think that it's a "path" to Ground Zero.
Io Larkspur: confusing for them to have the two in one place.
Archmage Atlantis: It was a path to culture and math for me
    Bruce Mowbray: Hmmmm...
    Wol Euler: an interesting combination
Bruce Mowbray: how so with the 'math'. Arch?
Archmage Atlantis: The school for math statisticians was within walking distance......oH, NOW i REMEMBER
Archmage Atlantis: The school for actuaries
    Wol Euler: ah
Archmage Atlantis: Those who predict the future will be similar to the past *g*
Wol Euler: well, don't we all?
    Archmage Atlantis: Yes
Bruce Mowbray: \me thinks he could stand to back off from future 'actuaries' -- let go of both what is passed and what may come.
Archmage Atlantis: We just don't use math and science to justify it
Io Larkspur: Newtom told us when the apple would hit the ground. . . but until you actually DROP that apple....
    Io Larkspur: [oops.. sorry]
    Ewan Bonham: lo
    Io Larkspur: Newton... (misspelling, again)
    Io Larkspur: Yes?
Ewan Bonham: are you saying personal experience is the best teacher?
Archmage Atlantis: it's ok to me///////the apple only hits the ground if certain assumptions are met
Io Larkspur: Personal experience is the ONLY teacher.
Archmage Atlantis: The only teacher, yes, but not the only source of informatopm
    Archmage Atlantis: *information
Bruce Mowbray: (I am encouraging Io to speak out... and she is! GREAT!)
Ewan Bonham: I guess it depends on if experience must be in the physical
Io Larkspur: Pouring information from one container to another is not "teaching".
Ewan Bonham: some experience may be by senses
Io Larkspur: as a Buddhist, of sorts, I go for the experiential over the discursive-rational.
    Ewan Bonham: or coversation
Archmage Atlantis: yes, a strawman, Io
Qt Core: being lazy i go the other way around ;-)
    Bruce Mowbray: or a straw-woman!
Bruce Mowbray: How is that, Qt?
Ewan Bonham: so, all experience originates in the mind?
Qt Core: preferring information to experience
Archmage Atlantis: Where are you sitting now Ewan
Archmage Atlantis: In circle oin SL?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: good night everyone
Qt Core: ( but it was, partially a joke, some things can be learned as informations but may be better as experiences)
Wol Euler: 'ngiht yaku, sleep well
    Qt Core: 'night Yaku
    Agatha Macbeth: Bye yaku
    Bruce Mowbray: bye, Yaku.
    Archmage Atlantis: \Sleep well, brother
Io Larkspur: I'm sorry, but I also need to go --- for a walk in Central Park --- only two blocks away.. Bye for now. THANKS, Bruce!
    Wol Euler: nice
    Wol Euler: enjoy :)
    Qt Core: bye
Archmage Atlantis: Don't get mugged Io, bue
Bruce Mowbray admits: I LIKE that woman.
    Wol Euler: :)
    Archmage Atlantis: Feisty, Bruce
    Agatha Macbeth: Bye Io
Bruce Mowbray: yes. I really appreciate when people speak their minds -- and she did that right from the beginning.
Bruce Mowbray: she's only been in SL a day or so -- and she's already getting the 'feel' of the place.
    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: clearly she's been getting some good advice
Qt Core: if you have done some chat elsewhere the part about speaking out your mind may have been already developed
Bruce Mowbray: Ha! We met at a party at the Hotel Chelsea last night.
Bruce Mowbray: That's a REAL place, she says.
Qt Core: sl only adds some fancy graphics
    Bruce Mowbray: mm.... mm
Wol Euler: my dears, I must go, I'm falling alseep in my chair
    Wol Euler: goodnight, take care.
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I think Io has done a LOT of previous chatting, if you get my meaning.
    Agatha Macbeth: Bye Wol
Bruce Mowbray: Now I am not comfortable about talking behind her back.
    Qt Core: 'night Wol
    Bruce Mowbray: G'night, Wol.
    Archmage Atlantis: Night Wol;,love....nite a;;
    Agatha Macbeth: C ya Arch
    Bruce Mowbray: G'nigt, Arch.
Qt Core: as talk are logged i don't think it really would be talking behind her back
    Agatha Macbeth slips away quietly
    Ewan Bonham: must run
Bruce Mowbray: I must remember to tell Io about the wiki.
Qt Core: butyet whi speak about if you can speak with ? ;-)
    Qt Core: bye Ewan
    Bruce Mowbray: G'night, Ewan.
Bruce Mowbray: I don't know what you meant by what you just wrote, Qt.
Qt Core: better to speak with someone than speak about someone
Bruce Mowbray: Oh, yes. For sure... but she went off-line right away.
Bruce Mowbray: She did the same thing last night (!)
Bruce Mowbray: You're in Italy, Qt?
    Qt Core: yes
Bruce Mowbray: Ever been to America?
Qt Core: no, not really a traveler but i may be there in 2015
Bruce Mowbray: [if America still exists in 2015!]
Bruce Mowbray: I was all over Italy in 1966... have not been back, unfortunately.
Bruce Mowbray: 2015 is a long way off -- any special reasons for coming (though none of my business, of course)?
Qt Core: a full eclipse, the only reason i found that make me like to travel ;-)
Bruce Mowbray: WOW! What part of this country will get the eclipse?
    Qt Core: just a moment
Qt Core: i'm searching the path data, i know the maximum will be around Nashvill
Bruce Mowbray: cool. That's south of where I live.
Bruce Mowbray: Well, sir. I should be moving on -- have another session starting in a few minutes.
    Bruce Mowbray: G'day, Qt.
    Qt Core: have fun
