The Guardian for this meeting was the lovely Agatha Macbeth. The comments are hers.

    Agatha Macbeth: Good grief
    Wol Euler: heheheh
Agatha Macbeth: Did you catch on fire?
Wol Euler: hmm not much better
Wol Euler: it's a new dress from Eshi, a group gift thingy
Agatha Macbeth: Well, it's certainly eye-catching
    Agatha Macbeth: Then some
    Wol Euler grins
Wol Euler: that is her trademark attribute
Wol Euler: not for shy people
    Wol Euler: hello bruce
Agatha Macbeth: Trouble is I can't actually see YOU
    Wol Euler: ah
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello Bruce
Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Wol! Hey, Agatha.
Agatha Macbeth: How are you Bruce?
    Agatha Macbeth: And how's Blub?
    Bruce Mowbray: Really good, thanks!
Agatha Macbeth: Glad to hear it :)
Bruce Mowbray: Blub's doing fine, too.
    Wol Euler: :)
Agatha Macbeth: Is Io coming along tonight?
Bruce Mowbray: I think she's still working -- not sure of her schedule. She's off-line at the moment, though.
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah
Bruce Mowbray: She's brand new to SL -- probably still finding her way around.
    Agatha Macbeth nods
    Wol Euler: hello fael
Bruce Mowbray: We're friends, so if she comes on-line, I'll be notified.

Someone runs past me round the fountain

Agatha Macbeth: I think Fael just arrived....
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Cutie :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Fael!
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Meep Meep ;P :p:P :p :P
Fael Innovia: Hi Wol, Agggers, Bruce :)
Fael Innovia: amazing dress Wol! :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Isn't it?
    Wol Euler: ty :)
Fael Innovia: ah, you too Aggers :)
Agatha Macbeth: (In fact I think I need a picture)
Bruce Mowbray: Stunning, indeed -- gorgeous, Wol!
    Agatha Macbeth: Oi sit down!
    Agatha Macbeth: DOH
Wol Euler: I need to stand if you want a proper picture
Fael Innovia: I thinkies she wanted a sitting pic :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Ok, done :)
Bruce Mowbray: every inch a lady!
Wol Euler: I do try :)
Agatha Macbeth: Me or Wol? ;-)
    Bruce Mowbray: Both and all!
    Agatha Macbeth grins
Wol Euler: ah, me and my rampant ego.
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Agatha Macbeth: Freud would have loved it
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Meep Meep ;P :p:P :p :P
Bruce Mowbray: Freud would have eaten his heart out with envy.
Agatha Macbeth: Now what are you doing?
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
    Wol Euler: this
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh hugging, natch
    Bruce Mowbray: Awwwww!
    Bruce Mowbray: so sweeeeet.
    Wol Euler smiles.
Agatha Macbeth: Now the moon shines bright tonight on pretty Redwing
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
    Wol Euler: meeep
    Agatha Macbeth: Huggle huggle :)
Bruce Mowbray: me too metoo me too!
    Wol Euler: heheheheh
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
Agatha Macbeth wonders if Blub will get hugged too
Wol Euler: that would be tricky
Fael Innovia: that sounds difficult :D
Agatha Macbeth: Not to mention slippery
    Fael Innovia pets Blub.
    Fael Innovia: handhug :)
Bruce Mowbray muses: THIS is the best thing that's happened to me all day.
    Wol Euler smiles
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
Agatha Macbeth: This is the *only* thing that's happened to me all day...
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah well
Agatha Macbeth: Wonder how Mick is?
Wol Euler: resting up, I hope
    Agatha Macbeth: More likely gardening
Agatha Macbeth: So is anybody going to supply a really wonderful topic then?
    Fael Innovia: meep! :)
Wol Euler shakes her head sadly
Wol Euler: unless you have one, agatha?
Agatha Macbeth: Don't think 'meep' qualifies as a topic Fael ;-)
    Fael Innovia giggles.
Agatha Macbeth: How about outrageous clothing :p
Bruce Mowbray: I have an experience, of sorts, to mention.
    Agatha Macbeth: Go ahead Bruce
    Wol Euler: please do
    Bruce Mowbray: Well, last night I re-read Pema's first chapter. . .
    Bruce Mowbray: (amazingly good, btw)

    Agatha Macbeth: I can imagine
Bruce Mowbray: ... and thus, I fell asleep thinking about Being...
    Fael Innovia: meep! :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Shhhhhh! :)
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
Bruce Mowbray: and about 4 a.m. a thunderstorm rolled through and woke me up.
Fael Innovia: Meep! Hi Qt! meep! :)
    Agatha Macbeth: 'Sera QT :)
    Wol Euler: hello qt
Fael Innovia: oh, I woke up to a thunderstorm at 4am too, recently :)
Qt Core: hi all, 'sera Agatha
Bruce Mowbray: I did the "appreciate rthe presence [of the thunderstorm] of appearance as a pre4sentation by Being...
    Wol Euler: :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Qt.
Bruce Mowbray: and it was wonderful. . . However,
Qt Core: we got heavy thunderstorm from 20:00 to the deep of the night.... and 33 C in the day
    Agatha Macbeth: (Ouch)
    Bruce Mowbray says: You too!
Wol Euler waits for the however
Qt Core: and the next two days are deemed hotter
Fael Innovia: yes, too hot :D
    Agatha Macbeth: Still here Bruce?
Bruce Mowbray: However.... when I tried to switch to Play as Being -- it was not as .... (searches for word...) as Being seeing was.
Bruce Mowbray: There are layers to all of this -- and it was wonderful to BE the thunderstorm...
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Hm, interesting
Bruce Mowbray: (Fael wants to hug you Qt.)
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
Qt Core: have you eat a go?!lden
    Qt Core: ?!
Bruce Mowbray experiences a vicarious thrill.
    Agatha Macbeth: (But from which?)
Bruce Mowbray answers: from both and all.
Bruce Mowbray: So. . . I feel that I need a lot more practice with the PLAY as Being ---
    Agatha Macbeth: And the thunderstorm...
Wol Euler: we are generous with our vicariouslies
Agatha Macbeth: Is that a word?
Qt Core: have you eaten a golden peacock, Wol ?
    Wol Euler: it is now
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh
    Wol Euler: hehehhe
Wol Euler: no, I'm wearing one :)
Bruce Mowbray says: Yes, and especially the thunderstorm. Ever been HUGGED by a thunderstorm?
    Agatha Macbeth: Melek Taus
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
Qt Core: i love those colours
Agatha Macbeth: By anyone's standards that is pretty dramatic
Wol Euler: me too. ANd it was a freebie, even, a group gift.
    Agatha Macbeth: Whoa
    Fael Innovia: wow :)
    Bruce Mowbray: wonderful!
    Agatha Macbeth: Some group eh?
Bruce Mowbray: Did you BE with your thunderstorm, Qt?
Qt Core: was it the understatement group ?
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-) Ha ha!
    Agatha Macbeth: Doubt it
    Wol Euler: :)
    Wol Euler: phone
Qt Core: not really i spent most of the time closing a windows that the wind was opening (i tried to have a little air in the house but had to renounce
Fael Innovia: meep! Hi Eliza! meep! :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Eliza!
    Agatha Macbeth: Hiya Liz :))
    Qt Core: hi Eliza
Bruce Mowbray: prepare to be hugged, Eliza.
Agatha Macbeth: Get ready to be hugged (snap)
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)))
Bruce Mowbray: I know someone else who really could use a hug right now....
Eliza Madrigal: I'm sneaking a moment on the computer...
Eliza Madrigal: will poof probably, at some point, unexpectedly :)
    Fael Innovia: meep! :)
Eliza Madrigal: to me it is like fael is hugging a cloud :) (( Fael))
    Eliza Madrigal: meep
Fael Innovia: meep? you haven't rezzed for yourself?
Eliza Madrigal: ha, just rezzing now
    Fael Innovia: retake? :)
    Eliza Madrigal: yes :)
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Meep! thanks...
Eliza Madrigal: Okay... now seeing everyone. Hi qt, agatha, Wol, Fael, and Sue (nice to meet you)
Sue Harcourt: Fael is still a CLOUD to me!
Fael Innovia: ah, then wait please :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Sue?
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, actually we met once Sue...
Agatha Macbeth: Oh hello Sue....didn't see you arrive sorry
Sue Harcourt: Do I get to be hugged by a Cloud today --- OK NOW I can see Fael!
Eliza Madrigal: wow.... Wol! amazing outfit....
    Sue Harcourt: haha!

Agatha Macbeth: She's on the phone ATM
Eliza Madrigal: (when she arrives she'll see I said that... in case I poof)
    Fael Innovia: no worky?
    Fael Innovia: try again?
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
    Sue Harcourt: AHHHH ---- Great!
Eliza Madrigal: Agatha, are you now in this session? Lia and I are coordinating changes but keep missing one another...
Eliza Madrigal: in this session I mean hosting...
Agatha Macbeth: Yes! I took over from Mick :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Ah, perfect :)
Sue Harcourt muses: That was the best 90 secs of silence ever!
    Fael Innovia: meep! :)
    Eliza Madrigal smiles @ Sue
Agatha Macbeth: So I can go to the dream workshop again :))
    Sue Harcourt: Thanks, Fael!
    Eliza Madrigal: yay :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Mmm
Agatha Macbeth: I haven't seen that outfit for quite a while Liz
    Eliza Madrigal: Yakuzza with guitar??
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Yaku :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Fael Innovia: meep! Hi Yaku :)
Agatha Macbeth: Can you play solo Yaku?
    Benjamin Greycloak: Hi room!
Yakuzza Lethecus: sadly, it´s just a good item
Agatha Macbeth: So low we can't hear you ;-)))
    Sue Harcourt: Hi, Yaku
    Sue Harcourt: Hi, Mystery.
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Mystery and Benjamin
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
    Benjamin Greycloak: Hi Eliza!
    Qt Core: hi Yaku, Mystery
Fael Innovia: this doesn't quite work from behind or on sitting people Yaku :)
    Sue Harcourt: Hi, Benjamin.
    Yakuzza Lethecus: thx fael :)
Agatha Macbeth: Hi Mystery and Benji
    Benjamin Greycloak: Hi Sue!
Eliza Madrigal: Agatha, I think this is my default outfit... feel most comfy in it
    Mystery Nyoki: Greetings everyone
Agatha Macbeth: Have you two been here before?
    Fael Innovia: Hi Mystery :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Welcome
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
    Mystery Nyoki: hehe ^^
Eliza Madrigal would like a bird of paradise av....
Benjamin Greycloak: So should we agree on a topic of discussion?
Fael Innovia: do you want a hug Benjamin?
Mystery Nyoki would love to find out what happen to his shirt
Eliza Madrigal: That would be wonderful Benjamin. Do you have something in mind?
    Benjamin Greycloak: Not particularly
    Fael Innovia: ok, no hug.
Sue Harcourt: Before sending me in to 'be' for him, Bruce mentioned something about Being a thunderstorm.
Eliza Madrigal: We often discuss the nature of reality... sometimes in silence :)
    Benjamin Greycloak: Oh, hug. Sure!
Sue Harcourt: Bruce is of the mind that Being is shared - but perhaps he should speak for himself.
Qt Core: some sort of thunderstorm is usually needed to have a rainbow
Benjamin Greycloak: The nature of reality, eh? Here's a topic -- are we in the "Matrix"?
    Eliza Madrigal: which one?
Benjamin Greycloak: Is this a simulated reality?
    Wol Euler: back, reading
    Eliza Madrigal: wb Wol :))
Sue Harcourt says: "I'll MEEP to that!"
    Wol Euler: hello eliza, ty
    Qt Core: no, just computed
Wol Euler: oh and hello sue
Fael Innovia: please stand and face my avi before you click yes :)
Wol Euler: and hello ben. Wow, all change.
    Sue Harcourt: Hi, Wol.
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bleu :)
    Sue Harcourt: Hi, Bleu.
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello Bleu
Benjamin Greycloak: Hmm, reading the notecard...Concept of a time tax is interesting...Can anyone tell me more?
    Wol Euler: hello bleu
Fael Innovia: meep! Hi Bleu :)
    Bleu Oleander: hi everyone :)
Eliza Madrigal: lovely new look bleu. You are more and more adventurous!
Wol Euler: nice hair, bleu :)
    Qt Core: Hi Bleu
Sue Harcourt: You should probably check out the wiki, Ben.
    Bleu Oleander: ty :)
Eliza Madrigal: Sure Benjamin... the time tax has to do with pausing every 15 minutes...
Agatha Macbeth: This gets more like a fashion parade
Sue Harcourt: It explains the whole Play as Being idea -- including the "time tax".
Bleu Oleander: like your Eshi Wol :)
    Wol Euler smiles
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
Wol Euler: 9 seconds every 15 minutes is 1% of a day, that's the idea of the tax
Sue Harcourt thinks: Maybe a "hug tax" would be in order here.
    Bleu Oleander: meepolishous!
    Wol Euler: hehehehe
Fael Innovia: hug tax? meep meep?
Eliza Madrigal: it is a way of dropping roles and hm... allowing ourselves to see more expansively...
Agatha Macbeth: You would pay out a lot Fael :)

Enter Gaya, looking like the monolith from 2001...

    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Gaya :))
    Eliza Madrigal: Oh my
Fael Innovia: meep! Hi Gaya :)
    Sue Harcourt: Hi, Gaya!
    Qt Core: a momolyth !
Eliza Madrigal wonders about this av....
    Qt Core: monolyth
Fael Innovia: ... that doesn't look huggable :)
    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello everyone :)
    Wol Euler: heheheheheh
    Bleu Oleander: hi Gaya
    Wol Euler: nice one, gaya
Eliza Madrigal: see... shouldn't be too quick to judge,,,
    Eliza Madrigal: may be squishy
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Gaya :)
Sue Harcourt: EVERYTHING and everyone is huggable.... (Sue thinks -- but what does she know, anyway?)
    Gaya Ethaniel: :)
    Wol Euler: a soft monolith
    Fael Innovia smiles.
Benjamin Greycloak: Interesting site...I'll have to study it more later.
    Wol Euler: a monosquishy
    Agatha Macbeth: How's Dave Bowman?
Sue Harcourt: Hugs will soften up the monolith.
    Eliza Madrigal: heheh
    Fael Innovia: huggie Gaya? :)
Agatha Macbeth looks round for the apes
    Sue Harcourt: ;-)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey gaya
    Gaya Ethaniel: Won't work :P
Eliza Madrigal is suddenly feeling very bland...
Sue Harcourt: also look out for flying femurs.
    Agatha Macbeth: Blonde?
    Wol Euler: awwwwww <3
    Fael Innovia smiles.
Qt Core: maybe some polish and a cloth
Eliza Madrigal: no hugs gaya? hmm... might need arms
Sue Harcourt: So, Ben -- has anyone IM'd you the wiki URL yet?
    Agatha Macbeth: Or a pod
    Benjamin Greycloak: I'm there
    Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Agatha Macbeth: Oh yes, good thinking Sue
    Benjamin Greycloak: in my browser
Agatha Macbeth: (I always forget that)
    Agatha Macbeth: Ty
Eliza Madrigal: In two minutes, we'll have a pause... 90 seconds... to 'drop what we have to see what we are'... then a link will show up too :)
Sue Harcourt: cool. By all means, if you can, read Pema's introduction to Play as Being -- It's long but very much worth the read.
Agatha Macbeth: Can you sit on the cushion Gaya?
Gaya Ethaniel: Alright I will go get change. Thanks for the idea Wol, it was fun :)
    Gaya Ethaniel: brb

    Wol Euler: :)
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
Benjamin Greycloak: I can tell you I like the concept -- just being rather than "doing" anything. Some might ask what's the point...

    Good question Ben :p

    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
    Eliza Madrigal: hi bruce :)
    Bleu Oleander: hi Bruce
    Benjamin Greycloak: That's great!
Fael Innovia: ah, wb Gaya :)
Wol Euler: wb bruce, wb gaya
Eliza Madrigal: they'd then be encouraged to 'try and see' Benjamin :)
    Benjamin Greycloak: I like that....
Bruce Mowbray: Hi, all. I hope Sue behaved herself while she was here.
    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Bruce :)
Fael Innovia blinks 'Gaya is a bit difficult to see.'
    Gaya Ethaniel: ty :)
Agatha Macbeth: She did a very good job actually
Benjamin Greycloak: I like that, Eliza!
    Gaya Ethaniel: ?
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
    Fael Innovia: ah, now :)
Fael Innovia: do you want a huggie?
Eliza Madrigal: The time tax is like that... silly to talk about it until after one tries
    Gaya Ethaniel: alright
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bruce Mowbray: Here we go again!
Eliza Madrigal: Now who is Amma

    Yeah Liz, who IS Amma???

    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
Agatha Macbeth: I've heard of tree hugging but this is ridiculous
    Gaya Ethaniel: Thank you :)
Benjamin Greycloak: "Time tax" has a certain ring to it. I've just always called it a "body scan" or micromeditation, as the card says...
    Fael Innovia: meep! :)
Qt Core: this is thirtythree hugging
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah...
Bruce Mowbray says: "tree hugging" -- Did someone say "TREE HUGGING"?
    Agatha Macbeth: No
Eliza Madrigal: body scan is a good way to work with it... why not :)
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
    Agatha Macbeth: Just you
Eliza Madrigal: a thousand ways to pause
Qt Core: i sometimes call it even reality check, is it still there around me
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, like that qt
Benjamin Greycloak: I read a book called "Chi Running" and the author recommends a full body scan, while running, every 15 mins or so...
    Eliza Madrigal: Ohh!
    Eliza Madrigal: while running?
Agatha Macbeth: Calvino would like that

Calvino comments later:  You're so right, Agatha, and thanks for the thought.  Athletics and skilled movement are some of the great apps for awareness practices.  I used Chi Running extensively during a couple of years when I was running a marathon each weekend.

    Benjamin Greycloak: yep
    Bruce Mowbray: cool.
Benjamin Greycloak: I ran a marathon on June 19th
Benjamin Greycloak: and I can tell you that it really helps
Fael Innovia: meep! Hi Bertram :)
    Bruce Mowbray: wow!!!!
Eliza Madrigal: I like the idea of pausing while still 'going'.. lots to see in that
Benjamin Greycloak: just to be aware of your body...
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey bert
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bert
    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Bertrum :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Bert!
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Berti :)
    Qt Core: Hi Bert
    Fael Innovia: huggie! :)
Bertram Jacobus: hehe - hi everybody ! - thanks for the nice welcomes ! :-)
    Bleu Oleander: hi Bert
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
Eliza Madrigal: Always nice to see you Bert
    Agatha Macbeth: Nice shorts...
    Eliza Madrigal: beach blanket binnngo...
Benjamin Greycloak: Sure, it's painful or you experience pain, but I found that if you were just aware of pain, and tried to "breathe" into the pain, it becomes just a sensaton....
Bertram Jacobus is a bit overwhelmed by such nice and many friendly actions here ... :-))
Eliza Madrigal: mmm, yes... some conversations are like that too :)
Agatha Macbeth: Ok, is there anybody here Fael HASN'T hugged yet?
    Fael Innovia: Benjamin
    Qt Core: Blub
    Eliza Madrigal: the fountain?
Fael Innovia: did you want a hug?
Agatha Macbeth: Go for it Benji :)
    Benjamin Greycloak: Yes!
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
Bruce Mowbray: agrees with Ben about the pain thing.
    Eliza Madrigal nods
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
Eliza Madrigal: I have to go.... dinner almost ready I think... son pulling a my leg to use his computer....
    Benjamin Greycloak: Whoa!
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey daren
    Bruce Mowbray: MEEP!
    Benjamin Greycloak: Nice!
    Darren Islar: hi everyone
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Darren.
    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Darren :)
Eliza Madrigal: Hi and Bye Darren :)) Bye everyone and nice to see you :))
    Qt Core: Bye Eliza
Yakuzza Lethecus: fael: you see ur next victim :)
Agatha Macbeth: Bye for now Liz, bon apetit :)
    Qt Core: Hi Darren
    Darren Islar: bye Eliza
Fael Innovia: meep! Hi Darren :)
    Gaya Ethaniel: Bye Eliza :)
Benjamin Greycloak: That's great, Fael! Thanks
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Daz
    Darren Islar: MEEP!
Agatha Macbeth: (God i can't keep track of this)
Qt Core: quite the field day for Fael...
Bleu Oleander: bye everyone ... RL calls :)
    Agatha Macbeth: The hug-o-matic
    Gaya Ethaniel: Bye Bleu :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye bleu
    Qt Core: Bye Blue
Fael Innovia: Have fun Bleu :)
    Gaya Ethaniel: lol
    Agatha Macbeth: Bye Bleu
    Qt Core: ops
    Darren Islar: bye Bleu
Bertram Jacobus: "but" - i just had some illness with heavy pain the last days ... and thought : "good to experience" because - i could feel that such can be really difficult ... and may be so understand and remember better ...
    Wol Euler: bye bleu
    Qt Core: Bleu
    Bertram Jacobus: bye bleu
Agatha Macbeth: Pain is always with us Bert
Bertram Jacobus: sometimes more sometimes less agatha
Wol Euler: hello bert, darren. Sorry to be distracted tonight, and sorry for your pain
    Agatha Macbeth: It's you that's distracting :)
Benjamin Greycloak: I don't know about that, Agatha...There have been long periods of my life w/o pain...
    Wol Euler: ah
Bertram Jacobus: np ty wol as said - all experiences ... have qualities ...
    Agatha Macbeth: Lucky you :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: good night everyone
    Bertram Jacobus: good night yaku
    Qt Core: night Yaku
    Agatha Macbeth: Auf wiedersehen Yaku
    Bruce Mowbray: Bye, Yaku!
    Gaya Ethaniel: Bye Yaku :)
Fael Innovia: Good night Yaku :)
    Wol Euler: bye yaku
Benjamin Greycloak: I agree, its no fun to be in pain. It's something that can be "overcome" though, but you have to have to courage to face it fully with full awareness of it...
Gaya Ethaniel: Have fun everyone :)
Fael Innovia: have fun Gaya :)
Wol Euler: bye gaya, take care
    Darren Islar: bye Gaya
Agatha Macbeth: Bye for now Gaya :)
Bertram Jacobus: you too gaya (?) ! :-)
Benjamin Greycloak: Are you familiar with the word of Jon Cabbot-Zinn?
Agatha Macbeth: Can't say I am, no
    Wol Euler nods
    Bertram Jacobus: i´m not -
Bruce Mowbray: wow -- Why is that name so FAMILIAR???
Wol Euler: he's written many books (and narrated a few cds) about meditation and mindfulness

Bruce Mowbray: Is he the author of "No Matter Where you Go, There You Are"?
Wol Euler: I think so, yes
Agatha Macbeth: Still dont know him, sorry
Benjamin Greycloak: Are we still talking about Cabbot-Zinn?
    Bruce Mowbray: Yes.
    Agatha Macbeth: I thought so
    Bertram Jacobus: Jon Kabat-Zinn
Benjamin Greycloak: He wrote "Waking to our Senses"
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Bruce Mowbray: I thought that was Berman...
Fael Innovia: "Wherever you go, There You Are" is the accurate title of the book
Bruce Mowbray: No, he wrote, "Coming to Our Senses" -- sorry.
Benjamin Greycloak: Has done extensive clinical testing of putting patients on a "Mindfulness Training" plan, and the health effects are astounding!
Bruce Mowbray: Morris Berman wrote "Coming to Our Senses" -- sorry.
    Fael Innovia: Jon Kabat-Zinn
    Bruce Mowbray: say more, Ben.
Benjamin Greycloak: Well, for example, over a period of time...
Benjamin Greycloak: they found with heart attack suriviors
Benjamin Greycloak: incidents of recidivism of another heart attack fell by 60%!
    Bruce Mowbray: whoa!
    Fael Innovia: that's huge
Agatha Macbeth: How was this acheived?
Benjamin Greycloak: as compare to control group with no mindfulness training -- now thats statistically very significant
Benjamin Greycloak: through basic training in mindfulness meditiation
    Agatha Macbeth: I see, ty
Bertram Jacobus: do we increase mindfulness here ?
Bruce Mowbray: Enough for a "landslide" in an election!
Qt Core: same healthy lifestile for both group ? or mindful people treat themselves better ?
Benjamin Greycloak: Well, I dont know if I can answer that Qt
Bruce Mowbray: Depends, perhaps, on what you mean by "we" and what you mean by "mindfulness," Ben.
Wol Euler: doing the exercises might increase mindfulness, bert. Just talking about it probably doesn'T
Benjamin Greycloak: It was a rigorous scienttific study that lasted some years
Darren Islar: not really Bert, but if you do the 9 secs regularly you get a good taste
Bruce Mowbray: There you go, Wol -- agreed totally with that.
Benjamin Greycloak: Two of my friends have been to a retreat
    Fael Innovia: meep! :)
Benjamin Greycloak: led by Cabbot Zinn
Qt Core: so probabky they both had dietary rules and such. ok Ben, plausible
    Bruce Mowbray: yeah.
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Bertram Jacobus: meep fael ! ;-)
Bruce Mowbray thinks: Maybe I could spike this iced tea with some bourbon.
    Wol Euler: :)
Darren Islar: so you take it is in the diet not the mindfulness
Agatha Macbeth: If you do, I'll have one :)
Benjamin Greycloak: Here is a talk that he gave at Google HQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nwwKbM_vJc
Benjamin Greycloak: its interesting if you have the time to watch it
    Darren Islar: thanks Ben
Qt Core: no, Darren, i was only curious if if was a scientific study
    Wol Euler makes a note
Agatha Macbeth: Thx Ben, I'll take a look when I edit the log
Benjamin Greycloak: But he writes very well, and I recommend the book highly.
Bruce Mowbray: Thanks for the tip, Ben... I'll chase it down.
Qt Core: so many books... so little time... and space
    Wol Euler: :)
Bruce Mowbray: Speaking of time and space.... Does anyone know where I can find a timer that will ring every 15 minutes? -- If not, I'll write one for myself in Visual Basic.
Benjamin Greycloak: Someone mentioned diet and I don't know if they accounted for diet in the study...but I wanted to ask if anyone here takes any dietary suppliments? If so, which ones?
Wol Euler: google "meditation timer", bruce, there are dozens around
Bruce Mowbray: Oh bopy! -- I take several -- will IM you the details later.
    Bruce Mowbray: boy.
Qt Core: none ( i think that outtside US they aren't so used)
Bruce Mowbray: OK -- Thanks for that, Wol.
Qt Core: well, i take some when i feel i'm going to have cramps, nut those are only salts
Benjamin Greycloak: I take a multi-vitamin, echinacia (sp?), st john's wort, and fish oil
Bruce Mowbray: Blub never has cramps -- He gets his salts from the water.
    Agatha Macbeth: Bless him
    Wol Euler: :)
Bruce Mowbray: I take too many vitamins to list here -- but I also take MANGOSTEEN juice-- Anyone had experience with that?
    Wol Euler shakes her head
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe Mangosteen did ;P
Benjamin Greycloak: Bruce, I've never heard of Mangosteen Juice, tell us more!

    Wol Euler: mongoose juice?
Bertram Jacobus: sry - i´m too tired - leave ... ty and may all beings be happy plz ! *wave* ... :-)

    Darren Islar: bye Bert
    Qt Core: 'night Bert
    Bruce Mowbray: http://www.mangosteenadvice.com/mangosteen-health-benefits.html
Bruce Mowbray: You can, of course, Google it for yourselves. But the claimed results are pretty amazing -- aqnd I have experienced some of those myselfr.
Bruce Mowbray: I'm not going to do any RAH RAH's for it until I've used it a few months, though.
Benjamin Greycloak: Do you order it online?
Bruce Mowbray: Mmmm. You know, Ben, I don't know if you can do that. I get it from my lady friend here in Ohio -- Sghe's a distributor in this area.
Bruce Mowbray: Are you leave, Qt? -- or wanting another hug.
Qt Core: tine to go, bye all!
Fael Innovia: Sleep well Qt :)
Wol Euler: bye qt, sleep well
    Agatha Macbeth: Ciao QT
    Bruce Mowbray: Bye, Qt!
    Darren Islar: bye QT
    Benjamin Greycloak: What about exercise?
Bruce Mowbray: Hikes daily with my dog -- in the fields and woods around the farm.
Benjamin Greycloak: Sounds great, are you a farmer?
Bruce Mowbray: sun salutations every morning.
Bruce Mowbray: No, I am a co-owner -- and we hire a farmer.
Bruce Mowbray: He's outstanding in his field, of course.
    Wol Euler groanbs
    Agatha Macbeth groans
    Wol Euler: -b
    Wol Euler: snap
    Agatha Macbeth: No, you groanbed
    Wol Euler: :-P
Benjamin Greycloak: just now got it
    Agatha Macbeth: What?

    Benjamin Greycloak: the joke

    Bruce Mowbray muffles a giggle.
Agatha Macbeth: The giggle hits you
    Bruce Mowbray: ahhh!
Agatha Macbeth: Got to watch them giggles
Agatha Macbeth: They can be vicious
    Fael Innovia: meep meep! :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Meep Meep ;P :p:P :p :P
Bruce Mowbray: boomerang giggles -- Do they also make boomerang hugs, Fael?
    Agatha Macbeth: In Australia?
Fael Innovia: meep meep? Do you want one more? :)
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Agatha Macbeth: I think he wants more than one

    Agatha Macbeth: Double ick
Bruce Mowbray: Blub bubbles: FINALLY! WONDERFUL!
    Wol Euler: :)
    Agatha Macbeth: A fishy story
Bruce Mowbray: Is any of this answering your "?" about mindfulness, Ben?
Agatha Macbeth: (No, he just thinks we're mad probably)
    Darren Islar: I'm going
Darren Islar: good night all :)
Bruce Mowbray: Walk in beauty, Darren.
Wol Euler: 'night darren, sleep well
Agatha Macbeth: Bye Daz, have fun out there
Bruce Mowbray: There are a few other sort of sub-groups to this one, Ben. One of Dreams, another on Time...

Bruce Mowbray: I just received a group notification from Plato's Academy. It included this quotation:
Bruce Mowbray: "Fear is a question: What are you afraid of, and why? Just as the seed of health is in illness, because illness contains information, your fears are a treasure house of self-knowledge if you explore them." Marilyn Ferguson
Agatha Macbeth: I thought Plato was dead?
Bruce Mowbray: That will be the topic in our next (Plato's Academy - not here) meeting.
Bruce Mowbray: All of Western Philosophy is but footnotes to Plato... (Who said that?)
    Agatha Macbeth: (You did)
    Fael Innovia: meep! :)
Wol Euler: someone who didn'T think much of western philosophy
    Agatha Macbeth: Probably Nietzsche
Bruce Mowbray: Oh -- another one of those boomerangs --- Oooops RL phone is ringing.
    Agatha Macbeth ducks
Agatha Macbeth: Bye for now all, be careful out there
Fael Innovia: Good night Aggers :)
    Wol Euler: 'night aggers
Fael Innovia: Well, time for me to start preparing to sleep as well :)
Fael Innovia: Good night everyone :)
    Fael Innovia waves happily.
    Wol Euler: bye fael
    Wol Euler: take care
Bruce Mowbray: I really need to go --- Wol and Ben, have a good evening!
Wol Euler: I should go too
Wol Euler: bye bruce, bye ben
Wol Euler: sorry to leave you on your own :)
