The Guardian for this meeting was Agatha Macbeth, standing in for Wol.

As I arrived at the Pagoda, I was IMed by Yaku, who arrived shortly thereafter...

Agatha Macbeth: Interesting theme session last night
Agatha Macbeth: 'Beginning at the end'
Agatha Macbeth: Tho I'm not sure i understood it all ;-)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: me neither :)
    Agatha Macbeth grins
Yakuzza Lethecus: we´ve been introduced to the concept by pema on malta
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes
Agatha Macbeth: It sounds like a typical Pem concept
Agatha Macbeth: I think this slot is usually pretty quiet isn't it?
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, i think so
Agatha Macbeth: That's the impression I get from the logs anyway
Agatha Macbeth: Hopefully I can get this months Scribing put up today
Yakuzza Lethecus: i think the scribling is something i am never going to read
Agatha Macbeth: It's down to the individual I guess
Yakuzza Lethecus: it´s so much that is going on around pab
    Yakuzza Lethecus: of course
Agatha Macbeth: It's something I enjoy I must say
Agatha Macbeth: Gives you a different perspective so to speak

Yakuzza Lethecus: i don´t produce text delightfully
Yakuzza Lethecus: it´s really a problem for me
Agatha Macbeth likes the word 'delightfully'  in this context :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: I was never good in writing essays or bringing something on point
Agatha Macbeth: You prefer to use voice, yes?
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, even tho that i am not good in bringing things on point there either :P
Yakuzza Lethecus: but in voice i can associate better
Agatha Macbeth: I guess it depends on knowing what point you want to get across :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: i don´t make myself stuck that fast
Agatha Macbeth: That seems to be my main thing
Yakuzza Lethecus: i was never good in producing text even in my own laguage
Agatha Macbeth: Well everyone is different
Yakuzza Lethecus: It´s for me not how i am
Yakuzza Lethecus: it´s how i became
Yakuzza Lethecus: i don´t see it as a lifethreatening problem :D
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh definitely not!
Yakuzza Lethecus: but still it´s one of the plenty things i engage
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Agatha Macbeth: It can be very frustrating when you have things to say but cannot express them
Yakuzza Lethecus: It´s kind of like math for me i have habitual triggers concerning writing of essays or producing text that trace back to school
    Agatha Macbeth: Right
Agatha Macbeth: Did you have a hard time at school then?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: Nothing serious initially.
Yakuzza Lethecus: I just came through and always thought that when i can´t do something well then it´s just me.
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Yakuzza Lethecus: The problems raised when i wanted to be good in something but couldn´t.
Yakuzza Lethecus: When you aren´t success ppl define if you are stuid or lazy according to their mood.
    Yakuzza Lethecus: aren´t successful
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, it's so easy to judge others...
Agatha Macbeth: Not so easy to judge oneself
Yakuzza Lethecus: It´s not even easy to judge others, others are yourself in another body.
Agatha Macbeth: But it's no disgrace to fail, as long as you at least make the effort
Yakuzza Lethecus: They had the same problem, have the same habits and stereotypes often.
    Agatha Macbeth: Probably, yes
Yakuzza Lethecus: The problem with stereotypes for me is the fact that we don´t really know where we stereotype and what´s a fact.
Agatha Macbeth: Many people attack others simply to deflect attention from their own deficiencies
Yakuzza Lethecus: I mean there are of course concious stereotypes.
    Agatha Macbeth: Mm
Yakuzza Lethecus: But i think most of em are build in and i don´t believe in the concept of lazyness for example.
Agatha Macbeth: It's down to individual personality
Yakuzza Lethecus: What purpose has lazyness ?
    Agatha Macbeth: What indeed? :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: You propably gain fat if you are physically lazy ?
    Agatha Macbeth: Probably
Yakuzza Lethecus: You don´t make money when you are lazy on a working level and can´t express yourself in your hobbies.
Agatha Macbeth: But I am so active i don't get that problem :p
Yakuzza Lethecus: Lazyness is defined by others.
Agatha Macbeth: It's A) knowing what you want and B) having the will to go for it
Yakuzza Lethecus: I have a problem with such phrases. But go ahead, what do you want ?
    Agatha Macbeth: Mm, I understand

Agatha Macbeth: Der Wille zur Macht as Goethe said
    Yakuzza Lethecus: :D
    Yakuzza Lethecus: niezsche
Agatha Macbeth: Ah, was it Nietzsche?
Agatha Macbeth: I always mix those two up for some reason, ty

Agatha Macbeth: So what do you particularly enjoy about SL then?
Yakuzza Lethecus: the ability to reflect myself for example here
Yakuzza Lethecus: to be taken seriously, and that the ppl whom are examine the thoughts have experience to give advanced reflections
    Yakuzza Lethecus: it´s one thing
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, that I can relate to
Yakuzza Lethecus: i mean i can go to a spanishclass :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: 3 times a week
    Agatha Macbeth: Hola!
Yakuzza Lethecus: i don´t have to drive there and i can even chat with the teacher later and visit or other activites
Yakuzza Lethecus: like that she´s into art in sl so i even brought bleu and other friends from here to her artcontest
    Agatha Macbeth: Wow
Yakuzza Lethecus: to have more kind of an wholeness with the ppl
Agatha Macbeth: Bleu is a work of art herself these days :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: she always been
    Agatha Macbeth nods

    Slave arrives

    Agatha Macbeth: Aha
Yakuzza Lethecus: i like her, i´ve been to her happyhour in the kiracafe often
    Agatha Macbeth: Hiya Slave
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey slave
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: hia agatha and yak
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, I like her too
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: i respawned here because i was here yesterday when sl frozo up
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh dear
Agatha Macbeth: You can set your prefs to start where you like you know
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: hmm yes i know
Agatha Macbeth: Last location, home, or even type in a region
    Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: i am homeless
    Agatha Macbeth: Aww
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: dont seee the need
Agatha Macbeth: You can always set home to a welcome centre or infohub
    Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: hmm ok
Agatha Macbeth: Some of them are actually quite civilised :p
Yakuzza Lethecus: i also don´t need a need for that
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: well as for the home thing in sl i think it is a bit to much pretending
Yakuzza Lethecus: i met so many nice ppl unintentially in that way
    Agatha Macbeth grins
Yakuzza Lethecus: i mean you leave the place where a meetng was and the next day there is one of the persons around
Yakuzza Lethecus: then you say ,,hi!" and reflect about what happened the other day
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, there does seem a tendancy to bump into the same people
Yakuzza Lethecus: and sl is a small town anyway
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: well you where here yesterdy so i agree
Agatha Macbeth: I have even seen people my alt knows from elsewhere at PaB and Kira
    Yakuzza Lethecus: yes
Agatha Macbeth: Like TR Amat, I run into her all over the place :)
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: well i think sl is a small town for people with seldom interrest
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, there is that
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: how many places are there for people who want a philosophic discussion you know
Agatha Macbeth: Yaku can best answer that :)
Agatha Macbeth: But lots of philosophical places I think...
Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, even tho the quality is so lala
Yakuzza Lethecus: but thothica/phil island/thephilosophyclass or good points to start
Agatha Macbeth: Put 'philosophy' into Search and see what comes up :)

Yakuzza Lethecus: avatars are always around at philosophy house
Yakuzza Lethecus: and DON`T expect philosophy!
    Agatha Macbeth: Ha!
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, alt goes to Thothica
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: well ist hard to find places. I mostly look at the picks of people i meet
Agatha Macbeth: So what do you think of SL so far Slave?
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: i think its nice
    Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: meeting interresting people
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: first it was hard to find them
Agatha Macbeth: Oh yes, they are plenty of those!
Agatha Macbeth: It's knowing where to look I guess
    Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: yes
Agatha Macbeth: I mean, welcome areas can give a false impression of SL
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: liek now the philosophy class is a group but where do they meet?
Agatha Macbeth: You need to go deeper in to find the goodies
Agatha Macbeth: Well, there's philosophical stuff at Thothica
Agatha Macbeth: That's a good place
Agatha Macbeth: Best thing is to put Philosophy or Philosopher in Search > Groups and see what comes up

    Slave suddenly does a Houdini

    Agatha Macbeth: Oh he's gone

Poof!  Et voilà...now you don't see him, now you do...

    Agatha Macbeth: wb Slave
    Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: whoeps teleported
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hehe
    Agatha Macbeth: Ha
Yakuzza Lethecus: herman bergson is on a break
Agatha Macbeth: Thought it was something we said ;P
Yakuzza Lethecus: it´s in wainscot if you didn´t find it
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: when i fill in thothica i dont have a place with taht name
Agatha Macbeth: What's Pamala's group called Yaku? - Roadside Philosophers?
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: thx for teh landmark
Agatha Macbeth: I'm not actually into it much myself
Yakuzza Lethecus: for me it´s also just the explosure
    Agatha Macbeth: Explosure! :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Love it
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: well i have taking a sciencepfilosophy course as part of my study and sometimes i read books. I dont know what the level is
    Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: taking=taken
    Agatha Macbeth: I see
Yakuzza Lethecus: so we have a young karl popper and thomas kuhn around here
    Yakuzza Lethecus: :)
Agatha Macbeth: Well maybe you'll find something here to your advantage as they say
    Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: haha
Agatha Macbeth doesn't know either :(
Agatha Macbeth: Tho I have heard of Popper...
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: also in english its a bit more difficult if are really getting deep in to it. Ny english has improved since ive bee here on sl
Yakuzza Lethecus: the answer of german schoolkids would be, ,,wtf is that of a pornname?"
    Agatha Macbeth grins
Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, that is definetly true slave
Yakuzza Lethecus: my english also improved a lot
Agatha Macbeth: Where are you from then Slave?
Yakuzza Lethecus: still in the netherlands it´s generally more popular to use english then here in germany
    Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: the netherlands
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah, right
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: i can see that yak
Agatha Macbeth: To be honest I wouldn't have known
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: but still i am above average
Agatha Macbeth: Your English is excellent I must say

Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: well thx i get that a lot in sl :)
    Agatha Macbeth: For sure
    Agatha Macbeth: Hiya Cal :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey cal
    Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: hi cal
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: i was about to leave to make myself some breakfest
    Calvino Rabeni: Aggers, Hi
Yakuzza Lethecus: ok, take care slave
Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: so see you around
    Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: bye
Agatha Macbeth: I already had cornflakes :)
    Slavetotheuniverse Greybeard: bye
    Agatha Macbeth: Take care Slave
    Calvino Rabeni: Up early, Agatha?
Agatha Macbeth: Yep, doing Wol's session for her
Agatha Macbeth: Don't know who'll do the next two tho, I'll be back at work :(
Calvino Rabeni: Does solitude seem dangerous in some way?
    Agatha Macbeth: Maybe
Agatha Macbeth: Depends on the circumstances I guess
Calvino Rabeni: I think it depends on the individual's experience with it
Agatha Macbeth: Tho there are times when it can actually be quite desirable :)
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Agatha Macbeth: Down to the individual personality I think
Agatha Macbeth: I find I need to be alone if I have something on my mind i need to think through
Calvino Rabeni: A friend has - his wife / GF away for 3 weeks - voiced concern about if he could handle it - but then said, it's hard to handle the partner too
    Agatha Macbeth: Poor guy!
    Calvino Rabeni: hehehe
Agatha Macbeth: 'Just can't please some people'
Calvino Rabeni: Then there are people in familes, who find it hard to imagine any alone time
Agatha Macbeth: So when she's there he doesn't want her to be and when she isn't he misses her?
Calvino Rabeni: and some think it would be Heaven, others Hell :)
Agatha Macbeth: 'Tis a fine line between Heaven and hell Calvino :)
Calvino Rabeni: No, when she's there he doesn't confront himself, but her
Yakuzza Lethecus: i am not alone, i have you guys :P
    Yakuzza Lethecus: rofl :)
Agatha Macbeth: Oh - I SEE
Agatha Macbeth: She's his sounding board so to speak

Calvino Rabeni: The other way around mostly
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah
Agatha Macbeth: Well, girls will be girls :p
Calvino Rabeni: and then another friend who has a relationship a little like two ships passing in the night
Calvino Rabeni: and occasionally there is some kind of collision
Calvino Rabeni: oops, I wasn't watching the timer
    Agatha Macbeth: Hehe
Agatha Macbeth: You start to sound like a social worker Cal
Agatha Macbeth: Or an agony aunt...
Calvino Rabeni: What are they all about?
    Agatha Macbeth: Who?
Calvino Rabeni: social workers and agony aunts
Agatha Macbeth: Well, helping those in need (theoretically)
Calvino Rabeni: Well actualy they ask :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh, well then
Agatha Macbeth: Not much you can do about that
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe you're just the kind people open up to :)
Calvino Rabeni: No, it is a consequence of friendship
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah, that's nice
    Agatha Macbeth: Trustworthy
Agatha Macbeth: 'We all need a good friend'
Agatha Macbeth: Or as Bill Withers said 'we all need somebody to lean on'
Agatha Macbeth: Well gentlemen, I must love you and leave you....shopping needs to be done
Agatha Macbeth: I got the log, take care Yaku and Cal
    Calvino Rabeni: awww,
    Calvino Rabeni: happy hunting
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye
