The Guardian for this meeting was Riddle Sideways. The comments are by Riddle Sideways.

The title play on words vs somebody else's special sessions is intentional. (but, you knew that).

There is a not-so-remarkable thing that happens. It has happened since the beginning.  It has been exasperated by the trend to have exactly 1 hour sessions.  Most of the hour will go by with surface, light, funny, unconnected, etc. chit-chat.  At the appoach of the end, one of my favoritess, most engaging, provocitive and stimulating conversations will start.
And several of the major players will have to leave.
    Some will stay.
The GoC will leave and the chat log will end.

Needless to say, that is what happened again today.  You might be advised to skip from where Yaku gets bored and leaves to the last 10 minutes.

Reminds me of the same thing my computers do.  They are "suppose" to be inanimate object of little intel (tm).  However, at the approach of quiting/going away time they will start their "just one more..." and/or "try again, it will work this next little tweak...".  And, you stay with it another hour, miss the good part of the party, make your spouse sad, have to eat cold dinner and think about the D** computer laughing at you.

    Riddle Sideways: ouch
Yakuzza Lethecus: that´s what i do with insects
        Yakuzza Lethecus: hi riddle :)
        Riddle Sideways: thanks
Yakuzza Lethecus: you look great :)
        Riddle Sideways: Hi, Yaku

Should mention (without a photo) that I am a cartoon-ish Big Buzee Bee today,
    Riddle Sideways: TY
Riddle Sideways: you look the same
Riddle Sideways: I was bored with always being me
Riddle Sideways: every-body else is trying different things
Riddle Sideways: Been thinking about chatting with toaster ovens

[Lisa/Darren (or somebody else) can I borrow a copy of your toaster oven? please?]

[Interesting, I just played some more (each week a little) with the editing <possiblities/weirdnesses> of the new wiki settings.  Using Source and adding P-tags, span-tags maybe control this stuff][Cr*p after save/re-edit it gets lost]
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, i try not to get lost in the infinite possiblilities
Yakuzza Lethecus: why did your fridge stop talking to you ?
Riddle Sideways: well, by elimitating a few, it is not infinite anymore
Riddle Sideways: yes, turned the talking fridge off
Yakuzza Lethecus: where should automatisation stop ?
Yakuzza Lethecus: at which point are we retarding outselves with the easyness of a modern life
Riddle Sideways: hmmm, maybe already past that point :)
Riddle Sideways: my car tells me the turns to get home, like I do not know
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, i have to admit i feel more secure with navigation systems
Yakuzza Lethecus: it´s less stressful and i even make less mistakes
Yakuzza Lethecus: because i feel more secure driving in city´s
Riddle Sideways: oh, I still make the mistakes
Yakuzza Lethecus: sure, i mean it provides more security and when i don´t get off the road somehow because there is a construction site it still tells the new way
Yakuzza Lethecus: and i am not like ,,aaaaahhhh, wtf what should i do now"
    Riddle Sideways: yes
Riddle Sideways: mechanical Australian voice says "re-calculating"
Riddle Sideways: "at the next convenient occasions, do a U turn and get back on the highway"

Yakuzza Lethecus: how is the design of ur avatar called
Riddle Sideways: seems to be "Buzee Bee"
Riddle Sideways: got it in a free box of stuff
Yakuzza Lethecus: i mean how the design of it is called
Riddle Sideways: not sure, I just wear what was there.
    Riddle Sideways: Big cartoon Bee

Riddle Sideways: I can not find the link to newpaper article I read

ok, The San Jose Mercury is one of the best in this country/world for technology reporting.  It is the newspaper of Sillycon Valley.  It was one of the first to eat it's own dog food.
Last week (maybe the week before) I read half of the Tech Monday first page.  A great article about the fridge, thermometer, motion sensor, TV, DVR, smartPhone, microwave and other members of the household appliance smarts/grid network barrgade getting together to share events, coincidences, patterns, notices, missed appointments, etc.
Being that the San Jose Mercury is soooooo onLine.  I so should find the URL for ya'll, but noooooo.
Over the quick several minutes, then all of the 90 sec pauses and now for about 20 minutes I have looked.  Finally to find the article in question. http://www.siliconvalley.com/ci_1545...nclick_check=1 .  BTW the intreging intro photo is at the bottom of this web article.

Yakuzza Lethecus: what was it about
    Riddle Sideways: about smart appliances
Riddle Sideways: having group conversations about my habits
Riddle Sideways: each device noting that their person had not changed channel
Yakuzza Lethecus: i wonder when we will be better wireless connected where i live
Riddle Sideways: nor moved, nor snacked
Yakuzza Lethecus: everything seems to start working wireless in the cloud
Riddle Sideways: that they should dial 911 within the hour
Yakuzza Lethecus: it´facinating when they show little applications with good voice recognition, direct translation and text to speech in the end
Yakuzza Lethecus: all on smartphone but calculated in the cloud

The power of JADE-LEAP, WOLF, Android, the Android 'Locale'  App (plus scripts) and myself has created a super computing cloud/grid enabled workflow engine script that plays a gong (of the users choice) every 15 minutes.  Soon (measured in years) to be an app in the marketplace.
Riddle Sideways: yes, my Droid is amazing
Riddle Sideways: It understands my speech in a noisey place
    Yakuzza Lethecus: HTC ?
Riddle Sideways: finds the lyrics to a song I hum
    Riddle Sideways: Moto
Riddle Sideways: It now knows where I am
Riddle Sideways: goes silent ringer when entering auditorium
Yakuzza Lethecus: controlled by gps ? Yes
Riddle Sideways: good morning , Blub
         Riddle Sideways: and Bruce :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: hey bruce n blub
        Bruce Mowbray: Gut morgan!
Yakuzza Lethecus: Einen wunderschönen guten morgen wünsche ich dir.
Riddle Sideways: sorry, can't find my translator
Bruce Mowbray: Vielen Dank, dass du mein Freund
    Riddle Sideways: smartphone is recharging
Yakuzza Lethecus: do you have a list of coordinates in the phone where it has to be silent ?
Bruce Mowbray: Einen wunderschönen guten morgen wünsche ich dir. =
Bruce Mowbray: A very good morning I want you.
    Yakuzza Lethecus: lol
Yakuzza Lethecus: but you don´t get me :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: I wish you a wonderfull good morning.
Bruce Mowbray: Was für eine Trauer, die in!
Riddle Sideways: What a sadness that in!
Bruce Mowbray: = What a sadness in that! (that Bruce and Blub don't "get to have" Yaku).
Bruce Mowbray: Being is better than having any day!
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, i have a rough time just to be
Riddle Sideways: and yes, phone knows map locations to shutup
    Riddle Sideways: to be
    Riddle Sideways: a Bee
    Riddle Sideways: a Bee-ing
    Riddle Sideways: it is rough
    Yakuzza Lethecus: Bee-ing seeing
    --BELL--
Bruce Mowbray thinks: Riddle must have given up a lot of Having to Be such a fine Bee.
Yakuzza Lethecus: comes that avatar with a special filter where you see everything with a moire ?
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-) [many-faceted eyes]
Riddle Sideways: does not seem to multi-lensed eyes
Riddle Sideways: but, I seem to always be looking from over my shoulder
Riddle Sideways: Meta-me is Seeing    SL seeing
    Bruce Mowbray: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencete...rently-us.html

Bruce Mowbray does not mean to 'lower the level' here, but the book THE NAKED APE postulated that pubic hair served a similar function in humans that ultra-violet sight served with bees.
Bruce Mowbray: (focusing attention for purposes of pollenation).
    Riddle Sideways: morning, Adams
Bruce Mowbray: btw -- Did you know that Sahal Palin was vehemently opposed to the USA's "public option health care bill" because she mis-read it as "public option"?
Adams Rubble: Hello Riddle, Bruce and Tak :)
         Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Adams.
Bruce Mowbray: I mean, Sarah misread it as "PUBIC" option - - -
Adams Rubble: Riddle, you must be very busy these days
        Yakuzza Lethecus: hi adams
        Adams Rubble: busy bee
Bruce Mowbray thinks: Well, you really messed that one up, kiddop!
Riddle Sideways: just a little busy bee
Riddle Sideways: but, looks are not everything
    Adams Rubble: hehe, yes
    Adams Rubble: or anything (giggles)
Riddle Sideways: yeah, I told poor joke the other night. Spun around to hit the drum cymbals and missed
    Bruce Mowbray: ha!

Ok, so I lie (tell stories) a lot here, but last weekend this actually happened.  Due to something our drummer could have avoided, we were LATE.  We did our sound check in front of a LOT of people.  I tested my mic. got the signal to talk/sing more.  Told somebody else's fabulous joke and totally blew the punch line...   Made up a Monty Python line (complete with Penquins and Spam) and "bombed".  Got the "Groan".  Only saving grace would be the old fashioned 'Ba Doom'.

Riddle Sideways: excuse, I have to try that.... saw in a cartoon once
Yakuzza Lethecus: i got invited to another place, take care everyone
        Adams Rubble: bye Yak
        Riddle Sideways: ok,Yak
Adams Rubble: what could be better than PaB. hehe
Riddle Sideways: this mornings topic was going nowhere
Adams Rubble: I think I am doing well going nowhere
Riddle Sideways: hope you brought a new topic with you
Adams Rubble looks in her inventory
    Riddle Sideways: traffic song?
    Riddle Sideways: nobody going nowhere
Adams Rubble: or train schedule :)
    Adams Rubble: Amtrak
Adams Rubble: If there is no path, then that is a perfect metaphor
    --BELL--
Riddle Sideways: earlier we were talking smart devices and having/needing Nav systems
Riddle Sideways: how does the nav system get you to no-where
        Riddle Sideways: Morning, CosmicFlower
Adams Rubble: Hello CosmicFlower. Nice to meet you :)
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: Heyyy Riddle, Bruce and Adams ;)
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: Nice to meet You too _/!\_
        Adams Rubble: _/!\_
Riddle Sideways: trouble remembering, did we meet last week?
        Bruce Mowbray: Gut morgan, Cosmic.
        Cosmicflower Ushimawa: Good Morning
Adams Rubble: Are your referring to a specific nav system?
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: nav system?
Riddle Sideways: maybe some Nav systems (Garmin, Droid, Google..) are better at getting you nowhere
    Adams Rubble: browsers?
Adams Rubble knows nothing about Garmin of Droid
    Adams Rubble: or
Riddle Sideways: then there is "How can you be in 2 places, when you're no where at all"
Adams Rubble: no we are getting somewhere (giggles)
    Adams Rubble: now
    Adams Rubble hums
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: hmm
Riddle Sideways: last year, Adams and I did an entire hour session of Fire Sign Theater
Adams Rubble: and found out Eos was a fan too
Riddle Sideways: well (to recap) Yak and I were chatting of Navigation systems
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: I think while being nowhere is at the same time being everywhere ;)
Adams Rubble: humor of the absurd
    Riddle Sideways: dumbing us down
    Adams Rubble: hehe Riddle
Adams Rubble: very few people will admit to being fans of Firesign theater
Adams Rubble: or of evver hearing of it
Riddle Sideways: and we should not have
    Adams Rubble: hehe
    Riddle Sideways: makes us "old"
    Adams Rubble: awwww

In case some have been reading this...  waiting, looking and about to give up.
Riddle Sideways: but what is time
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: time is distance between earth to sun
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: humans have figured this is time then ;))
Adams Rubble: it's about time they figured it out
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: in a way there is time and at the same time there is not time
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: but a moment
Bruce Mowbray: Perhaps "time" is distance from Being-hive to flower and back again (ending at the beginning, as it were).
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: hmm
Riddle Sideways: ah, the honey cycle
Adams Rubble: Buzzing around aimlessly forgetting there is a flower
Riddle Sideways: something I can understand
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: sometimes I have thinked time to be like a line from left to right
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: but then
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: thought it to be like a line from down to up, or up to down
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: all is kind of present at the one moment
    --BELL--

time for me to go.  To be a productive member of RL society.  To Do,  To Be. To [whatever, Dude]-
Riddle Sideways: the directionality seems not to matter
Riddle Sideways: but is fun to play with
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: sure
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: ;)

Adams Rubble: during the break I put my head back and looked up and noticed the dust fairies collected along the speaker wires and thought of how limited my awareness of my surroundings are
    Riddle Sideways: :O
Riddle Sideways: not so limited to still notice
Bruce Mowbray: Sometimes when I'm feeling that my 'perception' is getting dull. . .
Bruce Mowbray: I intend to notice particular things --
Bruce Mowbray: like everything in my space that is a certain color, or shape, or that provokes a certain emotional reaction, etc.
Bruce Mowbray: This seems to "enlarge" my focus...
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: <3
Adams Rubble: our space is not all that it appeares to be
Bruce Mowbray: It's also a way of honing "intention."
Riddle Sideways: yes, that deep refreshing/illuminating breather
Riddle Sideways: that leaves us saying
Riddle Sideways: what the h is that smell
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
    Adams Rubble: :)
Bruce Mowbray: Yesterday, here, some of us had a good conversation about contempative work and peace.
Bruce Mowbray: Since then, I've been thinking more about contemplation...
Bruce Mowbray: and am now wondering whether contemplation requires "intentionality."
Bruce Mowbray: (maybe "choice" would be a better word.)
Riddle Sideways thinks choice has intention, but comtemplation does not
    Riddle Sideways: not required
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: hmm, I think as long as there is wondering, there is contemplation, and also finding
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: but I think it is a choose to start to wonder
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: start to conteplation
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: or choose not to
Bruce Mowbray: I have thought of myself as a "contemplative" for decades. . .
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: ;))
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: its good
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: if not wondering
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: there is one trap
Bruce Mowbray: but have always thought that "contemplation" needed a choice (an intention) to start -- as a meditative practice.
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: trap of thinking to know everything
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: hmm, yes
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: and also people might do that
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: without meditation
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: or meaning, not to practise meditation
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: they can "meditate" while they are fishing
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: or washing dishes
Bruce Mowbray: . . . so "wondering" is contemplation that is not meditation, Cosmic?
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: or "doing" "normal life things"
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: ;)
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: I think it is meditation, when being connected on One-Self
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: ah, now I need to go
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: <3
Cosmicflower Ushimawa: I hope to see You soon again _/!\_
Bruce Mowbray: Well . . . there just seems, for me, a better "quality" to contemplative meditation is I have a "seed" of intentionality to begin it.
Bruce Mowbray: Have a grand day, Cosmic.
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: I will
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: Bye for now
    Cosmicflower Ushimawa: ;)
    Riddle Sideways: bye, cosmic
Riddle Sideways: I too must be off
    Adams Rubble: bye Cosmic
    Riddle Sideways wunders/wonders
    Adams Rubble: bye Riddle
Bruce Mowbray: ok, Riddle. Buzzz in beauty today!
Riddle Sideways: why are the best converstaions started when need to leave
    Adams Rubble: awww
    --BELL--
Bruce Mowbray: ;-) always a next time, Riddle.

As I backed away, past the recording boundry...
I heard then say "hey we are guardians, why doesn't it notice us and keep recording?"...

    Ah weeeelllllllll,
    another day, another time,

another space (where peace my Be).
