The Guardian for this meeting was Eos Amaterasu. The comments are by Eos Amaterasu.

    Wol Euler chuckles.

    Eos Amaterasu: HI Wol!

    Eos Amaterasu: Quite the outfit!

    Eos Amaterasu: Hi SSL!

SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Eos, Hi Wol!!

    Wol Euler: ty :=

    Wol Euler: hello sharon

    SophiaSharon Larnia: still rezzing :))

SophiaSharon Larnia: how's the retreat going so far???, or do you want to wait until others arrive :))

SophiaSharon Larnia: I can't beleive my eyes actually, that you're here :))

Eos Amaterasu: I don't think anyone else from the retreat will be here

    Wol Euler grins

Wol Euler: I think htey're all asleep

Eos Amaterasu: "I'm not really here, I just stick around for my friends" - Captain Beefheart

    SophiaSharon Larnia: :D

SophiaSharon Larnia: this is really out of your normal time zone Wol

Wol Euler: in their defence, we were all up at 5am to listen to the dawn chorus

SophiaSharon Larnia: Oh that sounds like so much fun

Eos Amaterasu: which I (tried to) record - we'll see how well that went

Wol Euler: it was quite a lovely morning

Wol Euler: I'd expected a few more birds, to be honest, it was a little sparse

SophiaSharon Larnia: i like how it starts, a peep, an answering peeps, and commencement of morning stirring and activity

Bleu Oleander: hi retreaters and sharon

SophiaSharon Larnia: like theyre saying, is it time, is it time to get up ^^

    Wol Euler: hello bleu

Eos Amaterasu: Yes, not quite the parliament of the birds anticipated - but we were told that it wouldn't be as active as in springtime

    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Bleu :)

    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Bleu

    Bleu Oleander: how it going?

    Wol Euler: great!

Eos Amaterasu: I think going really well - end of the second day, and feels like a week already

    Wol Euler: excellent food

Wol Euler: (sorry if I start at the wrong end :)

SophiaSharon Larnia: :D oh thats funny

Bleu Oleander: best moment so far?

Eos Amaterasu: PaB travels on its stomach

    Wol Euler: mmhmm

    SophiaSharon Larnia: very important! ;p

    Wol Euler: best moment? hmmm.

Wol Euler: I'd say it hasn't arrived yet.

Bleu Oleander: are you doing a silent day?

Eos Amaterasu: The introductions to the forest given by Jim Drescher, owner of the place, have been quite wonderful

SophiaSharon Larnia: didnt lose anyone yet? :)

Eos Amaterasu: We started with a forest walk Monday morning

Wol Euler: yes, that's true, that was wonderful

Eos Amaterasu: (almost lost Eliza then :-)

    Bleu Oleander: sounds lovely

Eos Amaterasu: Last night some of us went on a "night walk"

Bleu Oleander: the walk that is, not losing Eliza :)

    Wol Euler: hello steve

    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Stevenaia :)

    stevenaia Michinaga: hello

    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Steve

Eos Amaterasu: Easy to lose people on night walk

    Bleu Oleander: hi Steve

Eos Amaterasu: have to follow one another at a distance, with white flags hanging behind each person just barely discernable

Eos Amaterasu: pretty total darkness at times

    SophiaSharon Larnia: wow

Eos Amaterasu: senses wide open, synesthesiaziing

    Eos Amaterasu: (neologism warning)

Pila Mulligan: hi retreaters et al

    Wol Euler: hello pila

    Bleu Oleander: hi Pila

    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Pila

    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Pila

stevenaia Michinaga: yes, complete darkness is like a blanket outside

Eos Amaterasu: And the "Dawn Chorus" was the third intro to the forest and avian fauna

Eos Amaterasu: (I seem to be highly Latin tonight :-)

SophiaSharon Larnia: how wonderful, without occlusion of artificial light

Bleu Oleander: sheer appearance in the dark ..... sounds amazing

SophiaSharon Larnia: the first thing that comes to mind is more sensory in other ways, with the lack of light

Eos Amaterasu: I think in general the retreat is getting rave reviews

Eos Amaterasu: as Wol said, food is great

    Wol Euler nods

Eos Amaterasu: mostly comes from local gardens here

Eos Amaterasu: veggie, but with careful attention to protein and balance and taste and presentation

Eos Amaterasu: a very sweet couple preparing the food: "conscious catering"

SophiaSharon Larnia: pictures a metal lid taken off with a florish hahah

Wol Euler: yes, a pair of lovely kids

Eos Amaterasu: sorry, I tromped thru the 90 secs - a little tired

    SophiaSharon Larnia: me too, sorry

Wol Euler: we've been talking about the is-ness of what is

    Wol Euler: and eating blueberries

Wol Euler: they are the new PaB totem :)

    SophiaSharon Larnia: :D

    Eos Amaterasu: speaking of totem....

Bleu Oleander: the is-ness of bleuberries

Wol Euler: t-shirts coming soon to a RL and SL near you

    SophiaSharon Larnia: covered in blueberries?

Eos Amaterasu: (must remind Pema (and others) that Windhorse Farm has t-shirts)

stevenaia Michinaga: they thnking of an SL presence?

    Wol Euler: we suggested it

Eos Amaterasu: SL is new to them

Wol Euler: there's a lot of interest, both the windhorses and the caterers

Eos Amaterasu: this is the "Avatars in the Forest" retreat

    Bleu Oleander: fun

    Wol Euler smiles

Eos Amaterasu: this place and the whole approach to forest practice seems to fit very well with PaB, and APA

Bleu Oleander: how does time feel in the forest?

    Wol Euler: primordial

    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)

Wol Euler: one is aware of ancientness

    Wol Euler: and slowness

Wol Euler: it's very moist, there is moss everywhere. The earth is soft and springy underfoot

    Bleu Oleander: wildlife?

Wol Euler: rabbit, chipmunks, squirrels, various birds

Wol Euler: and many hungry mosquitoes

Eos Amaterasu: the "dawn chorus" is birds at dawn

Wol Euler: we did a session of Mosquito as Being

Eos Amaterasu: when apparently they are much less territorial

    Bleu Oleander: :)

    Eos Amaterasu: sharing life blood

SophiaSharon Larnia: peppermint seems to work as a natural repellent

Eos Amaterasu: ah, will drink lots of mint tea

Wol Euler: yes, Jim talked a lot about gratitude and offering

Wol Euler: (Jim = forester / owner / fellow meditator-type)

Eos Amaterasu: he has a kind of being seen, being seeing, approach

    Wol Euler nods.

Bleu Oleander: sounds like a nice fit

Wol Euler: yes, a happy coincidence

Wol Euler: except that it isn't :)

stevenaia Michinaga: sounds more like destiny

Wol Euler: Eos and Jim have known each other - how many years?

    Eos Amaterasu: hmmm... 31

    Wol Euler smiles.

    Wol Euler: not *really* coincidental

Eos Amaterasu: really beautiful building we're in, also

SophiaSharon Larnia: gratefulness and offerings... what did he say about offering?

Eos Amaterasu: he talked of gratitude as the root of awareness

    Wol Euler nods.

    SophiaSharon Larnia: nods

Wol Euler: and that when one needs to pee in the woods, one shoud think of that as an offering, to be made thoughtfully and with careful consideration

    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)

Eos Amaterasu: (note to Eliza: pls add the Rumi lines you quoted, re the pigeon and the hawk)

    Pila Mulligan: :)

    Eliza Responds:

    Someone who does not run

    toward the allure of love

    walks a road where nothing

    lives. But this dove here

    senses the love hawk floating

above, and waits, and will not

be driven or scared to safety.

    Bleu Oleander: brb :)

Eos Amaterasu is watching the mist over the pool, echo of mists over the lake early this morning

Wol Euler is smiling to be back in SL, hearing the bell, seeing friends

    SophiaSharon Larnia: smiles

    Wol Euler: hello calvino

    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Calvino

    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Cal

    Pila Mulligan: hi Cal

    Calvino Rabeni: Hi everyone :)

Wol Euler: brb, need to make an offering :)

    SophiaSharon Larnia: ha

Calvino Rabeni: So does Steve look to be in airplane or scarecrow mode?

    stevenaia Michinaga: ad mode

    SophiaSharon Larnia: a la mode?

Calvino Rabeni: Normal appearance now - I thought it one of those SL things :)

stevenaia Michinaga: where is adams when I need more people to look like a lemon sundae

    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)

Eos Amaterasu has never had a lemon sundae

Pila Mulligan needs to slip away nice to see everyone -- bye for now

    stevenaia Michinaga: neither have I

    Eos Amaterasu: Ciao!

    SophiaSharon Larnia: bye Pila :)

    stevenaia Michinaga: bye Pila

SophiaSharon Larnia: thinking re: the mist, that the beauty and magic of that mist exists in that time and place, but similiar beauty and magic is in things not seen that way ordinarily

    Eos Amaterasu listens

SophiaSharon Larnia: i was connecting th sounds o the crickets out my screen door with the mist

SophiaSharon Larnia: and the frogs, and the weird rustling noises in the bushes

Wol Euler: my dears, I'm going to slip away. I want to say a few "hello"s in other places before I sleep

Wol Euler: it was lovely to see you all again.

    Eos Amaterasu: (almost midnight here)

SophiaSharon Larnia: bye Wol :)) have fun and enjoy!!

    Eos Amaterasu: 'gnight, Wol

Wol Euler: ty, same to everyone

    stevenaia Michinaga: night WOl, enjoy

SophiaSharon Larnia: I'm falling asleep at the keyboard myself :)

    Calvino Rabeni: :) Sophia

SophiaSharon Larnia: Bye everyone, have a fun retreat Eos

    Eos Amaterasu: thnx, bye!

stevenaia Michinaga: night Sophia, I must be off as well

stevenaia Michinaga: take care, thought you were up at 5:000

Eos Amaterasu: Yes, we were up at 5:00 am

    stevenaia Michinaga: night

Eos Amaterasu: I will crash (as in go to sleep)

Eos Amaterasu: Night, cal and steven
