There were ten guardians present for today's session: Agatha Macbeth : Aphrodite Macbain : Bruce Mowbray : Eden Haiku : Eliza Madrigal : Eos Amaterasu : Ewan Bonham : Lucinda Lavender : SophiaSharon Larnia : Yakuzza Lethecus (Eliza posted this session)

We jumped into 'business' rather quickly, after greetings and especially for Eos who had been without power thanks to Hurricane Earl...

    Eliza Madrigal: Hiya toots
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Hello Liz :)
Eliza Madrigal: Eos! So glad to see you. You have electricity then?
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Eden, stunning!!
    Agatha Macbeth: And Nefertiti...

Eliza Madrigal: your make up even... dramatic
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi SSL :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Sharon :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi everybody :))
    Eos Amaterasu: we have power
Eliza Madrigal: Wonderful to hear that. Was there damage to the area?
    Ewan Bonham: Hi folks!
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Ewan, Bruce :)
Eden Haiku: Hi, thanks Eliza. You are pretty stunning too! Hi Agatha, love your look also! Eos :) Bruce:)
Agatha Macbeth: Hi Bruce Ewan & Eos
    Eden Haiku: hI SophiaSharon, Ewan:)
Eos Amaterasu: Hi everyone.... not a major hurricane event here in Nova Scotia, but various trees down, 100K or so people still without power
    Bruce Mowbray: Good day, everyone.
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh dear
Eliza Madrigal: so inconvenience more than anything
Eliza Madrigal: but good to be careful for days after. That's a mistake peoploe make... not taking the powerlines and downed trees seriously, etc
Bruce Mowbray: I remember walking through the park in south Halifax and seeing a lot of trees that had been knocked down by a previous hurricane.
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Aphro
Eos Amaterasu: I went for a walk through the Dingle woods: the trees that were down were the old or dead ones, and young ones that were really top heavy with green leaves, but not enough base
SophiaSharon Larnia: the hurricane completely missed my area and they were saying it was going to be a direct hit
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Aphrodite :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Aphrodite
    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Aph.
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hello all
    Eos Amaterasu: ~~
Agatha Macbeth: Scuse me a mo
    Ewan Bonham: Hi Aphro
Eliza Madrigal: if they are anything, it is unpredictable. We live very close to a major hurricane center and still have to guess :)
Aphrodite Macbain: Eden, you look very ancient today!
    Eden Haiku: ;)
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes indeed Elize! you do
Eos Amaterasu: "la donna e mobile...."
    SophiaSharon Larnia: Eliza oops :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: hehe
Eliza Madrigal: ancient and yet somehow new!
Eliza Madrigal: :) I like all kinds of name variations Sharon .. hah
    Eos Amaterasu: dragon lady
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :D
Ewan Bonham: yes, is there an occassion for the dress?
Aphrodite Macbain: fetching hat. You and Yaku are front runners when it comes to hats
Agatha Macbeth: Better, now i have sound
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, good. Wb Agatha, nice to see you
Eliza Madrigal: I notice Aphrodite found the PaB shirts too :)))
Eden Haiku: I thought you forgot your cigarettes Aga:)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hehe
Agatha Macbeth: Not this one ;-)

Eliza Madrigal: Bleu is such a talent. yesterday I finally stopped at the puzzle outside
Eliza Madrigal: Have others gone to see it??
    SophiaSharon Larnia: i havent yet
     Agatha Macbeth: Puzzle?
    Aphrodite Macbain: puzzle?
    Ewan Bonham: Puzzle?
    Agatha Macbeth: I said that
    Bruce Mowbray: Not I, yet.
    SophiaSharon Larnia puzzles the puzzle
Eden Haiku: I saw the kind of Rubik cube but I guess it evolved?
Eliza Madrigal: Yes, right outside of this hall... huge box puzzle, Bleu's example of her own art piece for the next exhibit
    Eliza Madrigal: yes!
Agatha Macbeth: Oh yes, it's brill
Eliza Madrigal: well it is totally interractive... one can step in.. see the guardians 'up close'
Eos Amaterasu: must check out deets
    Eliza Madrigal: really fantstic
Eden Haiku: Oh, have to go back to see it after the session!
Aphrodite Macbain: I wanted to submit a piece to the time exhibition but couldn't quite figure out how.
Agatha Macbeth: We're over here bruce
    Lucinda Lavender: hey bruce
Aphrodite Macbain: I'm full of admiration for those who do this
    Agatha Macbeth: hi Luci
Eliza Madrigal: I'm sure we don't have to be as complicated but yes maybe after the session some of us could go see
Eliza Madrigal: or for the last few mins of the session
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Lucinda :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Lucinda
Agatha Macbeth: I'm good to go
    Lucinda Lavender: Hi all!
Eden Haiku: That would be fun Eliza.
Aphrodite Macbain: yes that would be fun
    Ewan Bonham: Hi lucinda

Eliza Madrigal: So the only thing I thought to bring up, as in emails, was setting a date/plan for poetry session
PabAnniversaryTshirt2010: Please Look In your Inventory for a Folder Called PaB T-Shirt
Aphrodite Macbain: I think Bruce went to check out the puzzle
    Eliza Madrigal: hm
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe it puzzled him
Eliza Madrigal: Well, he can see it twice :))
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes
    Eliza Madrigal: I puzzled bruce
    Aphrodite Macbain: here he comes
    Agatha Macbeth: Complete with fish
    Aphrodite Macbain: wb
Eliza Madrigal: hope blub has a gps
    Aphrodite Macbain: hehe
Eliza Madrigal: wb Bruce. We're going to go see the cube toward the end of session... is that where you went?
    Eos Amaterasu: (bruce nods)
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I went to see the cub -- amazing structure.
    Bruce Mowbray: cube.
Eliza Madrigal: I don't think I've seen many of our faces in such detail
Agatha Macbeth looks for a little bear
    Eliza Madrigal: hehehe
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :D
Bruce Mowbray: Arch has a little snow leopard.

Eliza Madrigal: okay.. so from cub to pub...
    Agatha Macbeth: Bless him
Eliza Madrigal: Shall we have the poetry session in the pub at an off time? Or at Maxine's session Sept 19?
Aphrodite Macbain: I am happy either way
    SophiaSharon Larnia: me too
Eden Haiku: I think Maxine session is good, as long as she is offering it. Too bad Storm cannot attend though...
    SophiaSharon Larnia: yes indeed
Agatha Macbeth: We can get more people in the pavilion, so depends who's coming
SophiaSharon Larnia: the big draw back to sunday afternoon
    Aphrodite Macbain: where IS storm
Eliza Madrigal: Well I was wondering... if we are going to do voice, maybe Ya wouldn't mind moving voice session to the pub one day
Eden Haiku: The pub feels very
Eos Amaterasu: Maxine's the 19th seems fine
Eliza Madrigal: OR yes, we could stay at the pavillion
    Agatha Macbeth: Very....
Eden Haiku: claustrophobic, if we are a few?
Eos Amaterasu: (it's like people have time-places)
Aphrodite Macbain: so the poetry session is in voice? with poems being read outloud?
    SophiaSharon Larnia: smiles at Eos
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, numbers might be an issue
    Eliza Madrigal: hah Eos

Eden Haiku: I think the poems should be written in chat but if someone can use voice then they can voice over...

    Eos Amaterasu: recite your stuff
Eliza Madrigal: 'you can find me > _herenow_ <
    SophiaSharon Larnia: good idea
    Eliza Madrigal: Yes Eden, perfect!
Aphrodite Macbain: ok because I don't trust my mic
Eden Haiku: So we both have the voice and the written chat
    Aphrodite Macbain: perfecto
Eliza Madrigal: And some might not like to participate in voice, so it seems perfect
    Aphrodite Macbain: multi media
Eliza Madrigal: So the 19th at the Sunday session then... for the first one?
    Agatha Macbeth: Yay
    Aphrodite Macbain: at 8AM SL?
Eden Haiku: I have some "poetry ready" somewhere in my inventory, where yopu can feed the lines to the chat. Will have time to look for it until then I hope.
    Eliza Madrigal: 1pm SLT
Eliza Madrigal: yes, it would be good for people to be thoughtful beforehand
Eden Haiku: That was "reader", a kind of device that let people feed the lines to the chat.
Eos Amaterasu: (always a good idea :-)
Eliza Madrigal: bring something they really love, whether self-written or shared
Agatha Macbeth: /me is rarely thoughtful beforehand
    SophiaSharon Larnia: nods
    SophiaSharon Larnia: (to Eden)
Eliza Madrigal: hehe Ag, then it will be a good challenge
    Agatha Macbeth: Yup

Aphrodite Macbain: Where will it take place?
Eos Amaterasu: in the 90 secs
    Agatha Macbeth: Ha
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
    Eden Haiku: ;))
    Agatha Macbeth: Short poem...

    Lucinda Lavender: thanks Bruce
Eliza Madrigal: Okay, great. Who would like to be the 'host' for this session... two works best because one person can give notes and another can guide order
    Eliza Madrigal: Thanks Bruce
Agatha Macbeth: Thx bruce, what is it?
SophiaSharon Larnia: if it's during a regular PaB session, should the poetry by about 'being' or a PaB topic? Or more free form?
Eden Haiku: Ah thanks Bruce, for the line reader. Dp you know how it works? In poetry events, we have someone doing it for us so I never used it myself.
    SophiaSharon Larnia: Thanks Bruce!
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh, ta
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi yakuzza
    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Yaku
Bruce Mowbray: OK -- Everyone should now have a line reader and also the instructions for it.
    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Yakuzza
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey guys
Eden Haiku: Oh great, just received the instructiions Bruce
    Ewan Bonham: Thank you, Bruce
Aphrodite Macbain: Thanks Brce. But I'm still not clear on where this will take place
Eos Amaterasu: thnks, bruce! (seems like a symbiotic poetry spouting life form :-)
    Aphrodite Macbain: hehe
Eos Amaterasu: in the regulat playgoda, Aph
    Eos Amaterasu: pagodo
Eliza Madrigal: That's a good question Sharon. We could do a 'time' theme, or a 'puzzled' theme...
    Eos Amaterasu: pavilion
    Eos Amaterasu: pavicub
    Aphrodite Macbain: in the what?
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hahah
    Agatha Macbeth: Thing with pillars
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Eos Amaterasu: & pond
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes
Aphrodite Macbain: oh haven't been there -could you give me the address?
Aphrodite Macbain: where we always meet?
Eliza Madrigal: So here is this part: In the regular pavillion (with the fountain)... 1PM Sept 19....
Agatha Macbeth: I'll carry you Aphro
Eos Amaterasu: it's the regular sessionplace, aphrodite
Eden Haiku: It is where the Pab sessions are held Aph. You have been there many times :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Bruce Mowbray: [the fountain]
Aphrodite Macbain: Oh I never heard of it being referre to as a pagoda. Does it allow voice?
Eliza Madrigal: so, theme or no theme, that is the question
SophiaSharon Larnia: it was refered to as pagoda by many for a long time, now I think most people call it the pavilion Aph
Eliza Madrigal: /me nods @ Aphrodite. Yaku has a voice session 12PM on Fridays
    Aphrodite Macbain: themeless?
Eden Haiku: Ah, good question :)
Ewan Bonham: I do like the idea of a 'Being' theme..
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, Yaku has a voice session at the fountain every Friday.
    SophiaSharon Larnia: nods
Eos Amaterasu: karaoke accompaniment to being?
    Aphrodite Macbain: of course
Bruce Mowbray: (oops -- sorry, Eliza...)
Aphrodite Macbain realies she needs more coffee

Eden Haiku: Would prefer the theme to develop from the poetry...rather than the reverse...
    SophiaSharon Larnia: me too hahah
    Eos Amaterasu: autopoeisis
Coffee Mug: whispers: Ahh! Fresh Hot Coffee
    Lucinda Lavender: Aphrodite...agree
    Lucinda Lavender: about myself...
    Aphrodite Macbain: ha!
Eliza Madrigal: So each person can bring something meaningful...
SophiaSharon Larnia: meaningfulness as a theme :)
Eliza Madrigal: as in dream workshop... whatever seems to want to be shared
Eden Haiku: I was thinking about something thoughtless :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: ooh that works too
    Eliza Madrigal: haha
Eliza Madrigal: Okay... so 'no thoughts' are welcome too
Aphrodite Macbain: I woul enjoy that. For those in voice - will they be posting their poem as well? It would be a shame for themnot to be in the log.
Eden Haiku: Hope I will be able to attend :)
Eliza Madrigal: yes, it will be both Aphrodite
    Aphrodite Macbain: poem
Eliza Madrigal: We hope so too Eden
Eden Haiku: Yes Ap^hrodite, we will post the text too.

Eliza Madrigal: Okay... still looking for hosts...
Eliza Madrigal: I'd offer but sometimes on Sundays my grandfather pops in unexpedtedly, causing me to poof
SophiaSharon Larnia: I vote for Agatha haha
    Aphrodite Macbain: magical grandfather
    Eliza Madrigal: me too ;-)
Eden Haiku: Same here, with my Dad, after mass. I will be back in Montreal then :)
    Agatha Macbeth: /me looks round

    Eden Haiku: Good!
SophiaSharon Larnia: well, I'm not sure yet ill think of something
Eos Amaterasu looks forward to tea & poetry
    Aphrodite Macbain: Yay, decided?
    Agatha Macbeth: Looks that way
    Eliza Madrigal: Seems so!
Bruce Mowbray: I will also plan to be there - - - helping with the process, if I can.
    Eos Amaterasu: (tea with scotch)
    Eliza Madrigal: great Bruce!
Aphrodite Macbain: we can all bring some tea and cookies

Eden Haiku: Is that the one about software?
Eos Amaterasu: yes, lots of rich metaphorica language in software, take off points for exploring how we be
Eliza Madrigal: we are wearing things softly rather than lightly now?
Eden Haiku: Would love to attend. What time is it?
    Eos Amaterasu: no leaden clothes

Eos Amaterasu: being playing as software, something like that
    Aphrodite Macbain: soft playing
Lucinda Lavender: I will enjoy reading it later...will be at work:)
    Agatha Macbeth: Aww
Eliza Madrigal: Thanks Aphrodite, it was a very special session too.. The next one will be the "Being Puzzled" exhibit.: http://wiki.playasbeing.org/PaB_Art
    Aphrodite Macbain: Thanks Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: I'm looking forward to the software theme, very much, if I can be there but also when I read :)

Eos Amaterasu: Also, Wol has isssued an all hands on deck for the Stuttgart retreat (or at least a show of hands)
Eliza Madrigal: How many are attending so far Eos?

    Eos Amaterasu: http://wiki.playasbeing.org/PaB_Retreats/2010-10_Stuttgart%2c_DE
Eden Haiku: 2010.09.09 17:00 SLT Playing as Being as Software: Pema/Eos
    SophiaSharon Larnia: (brb)
    Eliza Madrigal: 17:00?
Eden Haiku: Yes, I was wondering if it was a mistake Eos. I think it is NS scotia time maybe?
Eos Amaterasu: Yes, just fixed it
Eden Haiku: And it is really 1PM as you said in emails?
Eos Amaterasu: I need a copernican revolution
    Eos Amaterasu: 1 pm SLT

    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
    Eos Amaterasu: Yes, Lia's session
Agatha Macbeth: What's it going to be about?
Eden Haiku: Wants to learn everything she can about unicode ;) (right now: almost nothing).
Eos Amaterasu: playing with language inspired by software
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh
    Eliza Madrigal: :) Eden
Aphrodite Macbain: yes- will it be all technic-speak?
SophiaSharon Larnia: thinks bits and bytes
    SophiaSharon Larnia: lol
Eden Haiku: will be there to listen :)
Eos Amaterasu: for example,Eliza used the word "closure", and that egged on Pema and me to get into how that's used insome scripting languages
Agatha Macbeth: /me remembers ZX Basic
Aphrodite Macbain: linguistics for the modern world
    SophiaSharon Larnia: haha
    Eos Amaterasu: wow, 4K ram!
    Agatha Macbeth: Mmm
    Ewan Bonham: LOL
Eden Haiku: it will be like attending a sesssion in a foreign langiage, love that!
Eos Amaterasu: I see it a playing with language inspired from our techie world
    Aphrodite Macbain: /me remembers nothing
Eliza Madrigal: yes, I haven't stopped thinking about it actually... closures and packagings and sharings and somehow open-endedness in that
    Eliza Madrigal: :::head spins::::
Aphrodite Macbain: perhaps it could lead to some poetry!
    Eos Amaterasu: yes!
Eden Haiku: It will be a "sesssion> with 3 sss ;)
Agatha Macbeth: /me looks quizzically to her left
Ewan Bonham: Yes, putting the two together..
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes, I'll be listening too, don't know enough to participate :)
Eden Haiku: Yes, true Agatha, could be inspiring!
Yakuzza Lethecus: we had a GW basic handbook with our first computer here :)
Aphrodite Macbain: it will inspire a small techno-haiku
Eliza Madrigal: techie poetry.... definitely a niche market
    Aphrodite Macbain: hehe
Agatha Macbeth: It will inspire something
    Aphrodite Macbain: I'm sure
Agatha Macbeth: In my case a headache probably
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :D
Aphrodite Macbain: high anxiety in my case
Eden Haiku: Oh, than you can contribute Yaku, helping to bridge the gap between the technotwits such as many of us and the computer geniuses :)
    Eliza Madrigal: /me smiles
Agatha Macbeth: /me hands Aphro the Valium
Lucinda Lavender: Lucinda is thinking about tools and how in the area of computers there is a lot to learn for her...
Eden Haiku: I was m,entoring a young novelist once who was doing his PHD in maths in Princeton. That was very enlightening for me and lots of headaches too :)
Aphrodite Macbain: ah. thanks goes well with the coffee

Agatha Macbeth: Saw Wol at Fracture last night, she's hoping to be back soon
Aphrodite Macbain: probably very enlightening for him too
    Eos Amaterasu: (fracture)
Eliza Madrigal: Glad to hear that Agatha :)
    Agatha Macbeth: :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: Fracture?
Agatha Macbeth: A place where we dance Aphro
Eliza Madrigal: So how did that turn out Eden?
Eden Haiku: Well, unfortunately for literature, he never wrote his novel about Evariste Gallois. But I learnt a lot about him and mathematics...:)
Eos Amaterasu: hmm, Galois, died ina duel, yes?
Eliza Madrigal: My son has characters with math-y names... sure it would work
Eden Haiku: Yes, he did :)
Agatha Macbeth: What are math-y names Liz?
Eliza Madrigal: :) Ah, so that should help you with unicode then ;-)
    Eos Amaterasu is into non-duelity
Eden Haiku: And he got the whole theory of ensembles I think, in one night, before he died!
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :0
Aphrodite Macbain smiles at Eos. likes his word play
    Agatha Macbeth: I see
    Agatha Macbeth: (I think)
    Aphrodite Macbain: miles of nothing
Eos Amaterasu: (theory of ensembles? hmmm)
    Agatha Macbeth: Bit like antarctica
Eden Haiku: No, I'm not sure how it was called...Eos.
SophiaSharon Larnia: i hear ensembles i think of dance numbers
    Eliza Madrigal: hahaha
    Eliza Madrigal: or nice outfits
Eden Haiku: Translating from the French, and vague in memory...
    Eos Amaterasu: groups

    Agatha Macbeth: Sacré bleu

Eliza Madrigal: speaking of.... shall we head outside to see the puzzle ?

    Agatha Macbeth: Yay
    SophiaSharon Larnia: sure :)
    Eden Haiku: Yes, sure!
Aphrodite Macbain: Yes please. My head is spinning. I need some fresh air and a puzzle
Agatha Macbeth: Wow, nice dress Liz
Eden Haiku: Love your skirt Eliza!
    Eliza Madrigal: haha Aphrodite
    Eliza Madrigal: Thanks :))
    SophiaSharon Larnia: oooh nice
    Agatha Macbeth: Cute
Eliza Madrigal: So, Bleu took a picture... which is what she suggests we do I think...
Agatha Macbeth: A Rubik of faces
Eliza Madrigal: but also... if you come close, this cube opens up into more and more
    Eliza Madrigal: Neat, Huh?
    Lucinda Lavender: cool
Eliza Madrigal: fly up a little tooo...
    Agatha Macbeth: Uber-neat
Eden Haiku: Neat! Who is the woman with the white tattoo on her cheek?
    Agatha Macbeth: Fael 2
    SophiaSharon Larnia: Fael?
Eliza Madrigal: I think that's Fael
Eliza Madrigal: If you go toward the top, from within...
Ewan Bonham: Am i seeing this right? It is translucent?
    Eliza Madrigal: the pictures rotate
Eden Haiku: Ah, yes the flower was a clue :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: it is Ewan
Eliza Madrigal: I thought it was really wonderful just from outside, then to find I could walk in too!
Eliza Madrigal: I love this angle of Arabella
Eden Haiku: It is interesting. That"s true Eliza, I never see the faces so close.
Eliza Madrigal: And that she snapped Maxine the day she showed up in a bit of a different mode
    [Eliza Madrigal: completely by accident
Agatha Macbeth: Who's the girl with the pink hair?
    Eliza Madrigal: looking...
    Lucinda Lavender: hmmm
    Agatha Macbeth: White dress
    Eliza Madrigal: hmmm
    Agatha Macbeth: Next to Luci
    Lucinda Lavender: I like it
    Eden Haiku: Gaya I think
Eliza Madrigal: yes, I see her... really pretty
    Agatha Macbeth: Is it?
Eliza Madrigal: yes maybe Gaya showed up that way one day...
Eliza Madrigal: Gaya could be anything at any moment :)
Agatha Macbeth: Looks nothing like her!
    Lucinda Lavender: oops
Agatha Macbeth: But now, yes I see
    Lucinda Lavender: sorry Ewan...bumped you
Ewan Bonham: It is an immerrsive experience
Eliza Madrigal: Nice angle for Eos too... and Lucinda looking so gentle
    Eliza Madrigal: )
    Agatha Macbeth: She always does
Lucinda Lavender: I did not know i WAS IN THERE
Eliza Madrigal: yes maybe bumping into each other is part of it
    Agatha Macbeth: Well you are!
    Lucinda Lavender: really?
    Eliza Madrigal: haha Lucinda, yes...
Agatha Macbeth: I think everyone is
    Lucinda Lavender: which level
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, yes I think the pink is definitely Gaya
    Eliza Madrigal: top
    Agatha Macbeth: Sweet
Eliza Madrigal: at certain angles, faces blend...
Eliza Madrigal: so one might see one av, with ara's glasses for instance...
Eliza Madrigal: Look at Agatha's dramatic eyes!
    Agatha Macbeth: ^.^
    Agatha Macbeth: Drama queen
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: i love this
    Eliza Madrigal: :))

Eliza Madrigal: And Adams looking up to the heavens....
    Eliza Madrigal: yes :))
Eliza Madrigal: I love that pic of Maxine
Eden Haiku: I'm pretty sure the girl in pink hair, white dress and headband is Gaya. Met her that day
Eliza Madrigal: the way the paviillion cushions and fountain is on here is really neat too
    Lucinda Lavender: quite the experience
Agatha Macbeth: Can't get used to you without that top hat Shaz
