    Alfred Kelberry: meep-meep :)
    Bolonath Crystal: hello :)
    Alfred Kelberry: oi, bolo
Alfred Kelberry: i think it's the first time i see you :)
Bolonath Crystal: i think we met before :)
    Alfred Kelberry: um...
Alfred Kelberry: i don't recall the name, sorry :)
Bolonath Crystal: maybe at a 1pm session
Bolonath Crystal: don't worry :) no reason to remember me
Alfred Kelberry: maybe my circuitry got shorted or something :)
    Bolonath Crystal: *g*
Alfred Kelberry: you look like a buddhist monk :) with a fitting tshirt :)
Bolonath Crystal: must be the color
Bolonath Crystal: actually these are the traditional colors of yoga teachers of the sivananda tradition
Alfred Kelberry: ah, is it where it came from (the color)?
    Bolonath Crystal: yes
Alfred Kelberry: they like it bright and spicy in india :)
Alfred Kelberry: everything is saturated :)
Bolonath Crystal: if i'd live in celibacy i'd wear yellow trousers too
Alfred Kelberry: you can't let go of this attachment yet? :)
    Bolonath Crystal: it isn't easy
Bolonath Crystal: ask me again, when i am 70 ;)
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    Alfred Kelberry: someone's coming :)
    Alfred Kelberry: archy!
    Bolonath Crystal: yep
    Bolonath Crystal: namaste arch :)
    Archmage Atlantis: Hi, Alfred....Hi, Bolonath
Archmage Atlantis: That was an interesting snippet of conversation - what one might know at 70 that one does not know now?
Bolonath Crystal: a lot, i think
Bolonath Crystal: or better... i hope :)
Bolonath Crystal: one can live a long time without learning someting ;)
Archmage Atlantis: Interesting......I find that the older I get, and the more I learn, the less I know......of course that is a classic comment
    Alfred Kelberry: *when i'm 64...* :)
Bolonath Crystal: well, but you learned that you know less...
Archmage Atlantis: I plan to be living on a yellow submarine, if I make it that far Alfred :)
Archmage Atlantis: Having already been the walrus
    Archmage Atlantis: But I digress
Bolonath Crystal: as long as i don't have to live in norwegian woods, it is ok with me
    Archmage Atlantis: :)
Alfred Kelberry: archy :) it reminds me of one movie... let me look it up
    Bolonath Crystal: namaste nymf :)
Archmage Atlantis: I only know 1 person who lives in Norway, and e moved there from Finland.....says e likes it there better
    Nymf Hathaway: Hello everyone ã‹¡
    Archmage Atlantis: hiya Nymf
    Nymf Hathaway: Rezzing
    Alfred Kelberry: nimfy! :)
Alfred Kelberry: good to see you at pab :)
Alfred Kelberry: archy, "The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou" :)
    Alfred Kelberry: that's you at 64 :)
Archmage Atlantis: Don't Know that one, Alfred.....will have to look it up.......it's nice to not have to drive or walk to the library for basic lookups
Alfred Kelberry: it's a lovely movie by wes anderson
Archmage Atlantis: I see, a comedy, of sorts
Archmage Atlantis: Next to see if it is available as an instant stream on netflix
Nymf Hathaway: May I ask what the topic is, Bolonath?
Bolonath Crystal: i wonder myself, nymf... ;)
    Nymf Hathaway: oke ã‹¡
Archmage Atlantis: Nope, have to wait for the DVD
Archmage Atlantis: Alfred and I are riffing on Beatles songs
    Archmage Atlantis: No topic yet
Bolonath Crystal: is there anything special you like to talk about?
Nymf Hathaway: No... I popped in because Alfred said he was here... and it has been a while for me ã‹¡
Nymf Hathaway: Goes along what you or the others like to discuss
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    Alfred Kelberry: *hugs nimfy* :)
Nymf Hathaway: Thats sweet friend ã‹¡
Archmage Atlantis: I sort of have a topic, learning to appreciate a one time experience and not getting stuck on wanting again
Archmage Atlantis: I suppose that would be living in the moment
    Nymf Hathaway: Nice one
Nymf Hathaway: seems hard for most of us
Nymf Hathaway: being content and appreciative
Alfred Kelberry: archy, it's what happiness is :) you experience it and then cherish this set of frames that gives you a warm happy feeling :)
Archmage Atlantis: It has been a long time even getting this close to living that way
Bolonath Crystal: hmm, we should learn to appreciate it being hard
    Archmage Atlantis: Probly so Bolonath
Archmage Atlantis: Probably give the lession more durability
Bolonath Crystal: right. every strong emotion helps us to keep the things in mind that go with it
Alfred Kelberry: i think the trick is to keep the experience fresh, do not get used to it
Bolonath Crystal: so we learn by joy as well as by suffering, as long as the feeling is strong
Nymf Hathaway: Change is the key I think
Alfred Kelberry: yes, it's all transient
Archmage Atlantis: Interesting you should say that, Bolonath......I'm reading a book called "The Growth of the Mind", that emphasizes the relationship between emotion and cognitive processes
Alfred Kelberry: archy, that's when mom gives you a spank for bad behavior :)
Archmage Atlantis: And the development from conception to the end.
    Nymf Hathaway: Hello Madisyn ã‹¡
Archmage Atlantis: Actually Alfred, this book is more about the effect of, well love, than punishment
    Bolonath Crystal: hello madisyn :)
    Madisyn Morpork: hi
    Archmage Atlantis: Hi, Madisyn
    Madisyn Morpork: hi
Nymf Hathaway: Both are the imprint Bolonath was speaking about Archmage
Nymf Hathaway: only love won't do it... only punishment won't either
Bolonath Crystal: oh, maybe both will do
    Nymf Hathaway: I think so
Nymf Hathaway: so embracing the moment it is
Archmage Atlantis: Having never had children.....I have little direct experience, other than my own as a kid
Alfred Kelberry: archy, you said "emotion", which can be anything from love to punishment. say you eat a delicious dessert and it feels so good :) there's your emotion/cognition link
Nymf Hathaway: was thinking about kids when you typed that Arch... because it really starts in childhood...kids are always busy with what they can have after this moment
Archmage Atlantis: Agree that is correct Alfred
Alfred Kelberry: kids are in constant surprise :)
    Nymf Hathaway: and impatient
Alfred Kelberry: that's what adults miss
    Bolonath Crystal: hmmm... *pondering*
Archmage Atlantis: Still there is something more....and it begins early in life.......of course this book was written by a professor of psychiatry, behavioral science and pediatrics
Alfred Kelberry: um, sorry, i gotta run
Alfred Kelberry: so nice you came over, nimfy :)
    Nymf Hathaway: Bye Alfy ã‹¡
Archmage Atlantis: And attempts to map that to new knowledge in neuroscience
Bolonath Crystal: for a child in the beginning everything is new. surprise is what occures if anything is NOT as usual. can a child be surprised as long as there is nothing usual, because everything is new anyway?
Alfred Kelberry: thank you all and enjoy your time :)
    Archmage Atlantis: By Alfred
    Bolonath Crystal: cu alfred
Nymf Hathaway: Ques only when the big imprint is made we talked about earlier, Bolonath
Bolonath Crystal: it must be like that to sort the important imprints from the unimportant ones. so it helps us to survive
Nymf Hathaway: sorry guess that should have been :(
    Nymf Hathaway: yes
    Archmage Atlantis: Why :( Nymf?
    Nymf Hathaway: why what, Archmage?
Archmage Atlantis: "sorry guess that should have been :( " - interpreted that as meaning a prior comment should have shown disappointment with what was being said/obeserved .....
Nymf Hathaway: I understand your question Arch ã‹¡ because it may have confused the both of you and with that the discussion.
    Nymf Hathaway: ã‹¡
    Archmage Atlantis: k
Archmage Atlantis: Language is so decorative, don't you think ( misquote of "books are so decorative, don't you think" - one of the most humorous lines from a movie/show that I often rememberr :) )
    Bolonath Crystal: :)
Nymf Hathaway: sure thing Arch ã‹¡
Bolonath Crystal: it was an art form in the ancient greek
Nymf Hathaway: experiences it the same
Archmage Atlantis: Goodness, looking up the reference brings up sites about decorating with books.....so much for irony
    Nymf Hathaway: Typical
Bolonath Crystal: we are living in a material world
Nymf Hathaway: and most like to keep it that way... so much for majority
Archmage Atlantis: Well and another interesting comment - "Yes, that is a beer by the pool. But it's in a plastic cup for safety"
Archmage Atlantis: Strange mood I'm in tonite, or this morning, sort of in between actually here
Bolonath Crystal: i think nuclear missiles should have a catalysator to protect the environment ;)
    Archmage Atlantis: Right *g*
Nymf Hathaway: Thank you both for having me ã‹¡ needs to leave
    Archmage Atlantis: Take care, Nymf
Bolonath Crystal: cu nymf, om shanti :)
    Nymf Hathaway: Enjoy ã‹¡
Bolonath Crystal: i gotta leave as well. i'm invited to my dad's birthday party
Archmage Atlantis: Blessings and Namaste Bolonath
    Archmage Atlantis: Later
Bolonath Crystal: have a god time, arch :) om shanti
    Archmage Atlantis: :)
    Bolonath Crystal: good *
    Archmage Atlantis: both work
