Wol Euler was guardian for this session.

    Agatha Macbeth: Hi Alfiebox
    Alfred Kelberry: oi
    Agatha Macbeth: yo
Agatha Macbeth: We had a box party here last night
Agatha Macbeth: You would have been proud
Alfred Kelberry: um, i actually was present :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Were you?
Agatha Macbeth: You mixed in with the rest then!
Agatha Macbeth: Wonder if Wol has overslept this morning?
Alfred Kelberry: she's most likely busy at work
Alfred Kelberry: i'm off as well
    Alfred Kelberry: bye
    Agatha Macbeth: Bye Alf
    Wol Euler: morning!
Agatha Macbeth: Thought you had overslept! :p
Wol Euler: chance would be a fine thing :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Good night?
Wol Euler: friday october 29, 1am
Wol Euler: yes, I slept right through.
    Agatha Macbeth: Great
    Wol Euler: yeah :)
Agatha Macbeth: Must have been all the box fun last night
    Wol Euler grins.
Wol Euler: (IM with Bert, he can't get into the wiki)
Agatha Macbeth: Yeah I was just talking to him too
    Wol Euler notices your tag.
    It said "birthday girl."
    Agatha Macbeth grins
Wol Euler: happy birthday, dear Aggers!
Wol Euler: may you have a wonderful year.
Agatha Macbeth: Thank you my dear :)
Agatha Macbeth: Chance would be a fine thing
Wol Euler can't decide whether to smile or frown at that.
    Agatha Macbeth: Ha
    Agatha Macbeth: Me either
    Wol Euler: yaku!
    Agatha Macbeth looks round
Wol Euler: assuming that the police won't be coming for you, why wouldn't you have a wonderful year?
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe I'm just being naturally pessimistic...
Agatha Macbeth: Has Bert solved his Wiki probs?
Wol Euler: we found the source of the problem :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah
Agatha Macbeth: God it's dark here - can hardly see what I'm typing
Wol Euler: he was adding his logs to the *old* wiki
    Agatha Macbeth: Oops
    Wol Euler: yeah
Agatha Macbeth: Is that still up?
Wol Euler: I wonder how many other do that too.
Wol Euler: perhaps that explains why so many logs are unposted on the new wiki!
Agatha Macbeth: Is it still possible to post on it tho?
Wol Euler: apparently it *was* until today
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh
    Agatha Macbeth: That surprises me
Agatha Macbeth: But surely people would notice a large gap of many months...
    Wol Euler: again,apparently not
    Agatha Macbeth: OMG
Wol Euler: if they were adding to the old wiki, htey'd see their own additions and think all was fine
Wol Euler: and many people simply don't look at teh wiki! not even the "recent changes" page
Agatha Macbeth: Didn't Fael take that out?
Wol Euler: I see that all hte time: I recover a session from the autologger, post it, and then X days later somebody comes by and posts the same session again
    Agatha Macbeth: Erk
Wol Euler: it's been closed down, yes; but remained open in case anyone wanted to recover anything for themselves
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe it needs to be shut down for good then
Wol Euler: that#s about to happen anyway, Mindtouch is pulling hte plug on "xxx.wik.is"
    Wol Euler: the whole domain
    Agatha Macbeth: Right
Agatha Macbeth: So who is the new one with again?
Wol Euler: still mindtouch *software* but our own *server*
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Agatha Macbeth: Your eyes seem strange all of a sudden
Wol Euler: I think they're the same
    Agatha Macbeth: Must be me
Wol Euler: if I were looking down you'd have seen the lid shadow
Wol Euler: (god I love this skin :)
Agatha Macbeth: They look a bit like Eliza's yinyang eyes
Agatha Macbeth: Yes it is nice
Wol Euler: so, birthday girl :)
    Agatha Macbeth: ??
Wol Euler: what are you doing today? got the day off?
    Agatha Macbeth: Yep :)
    Wol Euler cheers
Agatha Macbeth: Well as soon as I leave here I'll be going shopping
    Wol Euler: even better!
Wol Euler: buying in RL what you weear here? :-P
    Agatha Macbeth: Yeah, really exciting
    Wol Euler grins
Agatha Macbeth: No, just the usual stuff
    Agatha Macbeth: Food mostly
Wol Euler: food can be exciting too
    Agatha Macbeth: Well, yes
Agatha Macbeth: Depends on the food
Wol Euler: and that depends on you :)
Wol Euler: or does your local Sainsbury distribute things at gunpoint?
Wol Euler: "You will take broccoli today"
    Agatha Macbeth: Not exactly
Agatha Macbeth: It's all aquestion of budget really
    Wol Euler: well, yes.
    Wol Euler: eeeek!
    Agatha Macbeth: :)
(PKC) Black Panther: Agatha Macbeth with a crazed look on the face grabs the tail and begins to bite and tear chunks out of Wol Euler's tail. Somobdy do somthing quick!
    Agatha Macbeth: (I didn't whisper)
    Wol Euler: (for the log)
Agatha Macbeth: Why does that 'whisper' thing come on?
Wol Euler: happens to me too, there's some key combination that causes the little "say/whisper/shout" popup to open
Wol Euler: it seems to happen when I reach for the ' and miss it
Agatha Macbeth: Wish I knew what it was
Agatha Macbeth: So I didn't do it
    Wol Euler: yeah
Wol Euler: software designers should be foerbidden on pain of amputation to put in keyboard shortcuts that cannot be disabled
    Agatha Macbeth: I agree wholeheartedly
Wol Euler: but exciting food doesn't have to be *that* expensive. The meals we had in Halifax were lovely, unusual and delicious - and vegetarian, local even.
Agatha Macbeth: I'm not going to Canada for food! :p
    Wol Euler: awwwwww
Agatha Macbeth: It's a long swim
Agatha giggles and wiggles her tail.
Wol sends chills up Agatha's spine making her arch her back and purr as Wol slowly pets their tail.
    Wol Euler: this is true.
Wol Euler: and I have to admit that I don't eat that food here either.
Agatha Macbeth: This will be some log...
    Wol Euler: :)
Agatha Macbeth: Ah, your eyes look normal again now
Agatha Macbeth: What's in your back pocket?
    Wol Euler: heh
Wol Euler: goodies from a defunct dark-sci-fi RP sim
    Wol Euler: communicator and equipment
    Agatha Macbeth: Was it good?
Wol Euler: apparently, yes; but apparently not good enough for the players to want to pay for it
Wol Euler: as is so often the case
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh yeah, right
Agatha Macbeth: I remember you bloggin about that
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
    Agatha Macbeth: The pandora one
Wol Euler: this wasn't that, that was Pandora
    Wol Euler: but same principle
Wol Euler: glad to play, but wanted to play for free
    Agatha Macbeth: A free lunch
Wol Euler: there were other reasons, though
Wol Euler: there was a certain amount of sexuality in the RP
    Agatha Macbeth: Whoa
Agatha Macbeth: And that WASN'T worth paying for?
    Wol Euler: heheheheheh. exactly!
Wol Euler: and this came up at the time that anything not suitable for American 6-yr-old pruderie had to move to Zimbra
    Agatha Macbeth: Right
    Agatha Macbeth: Never been there
Wol Euler: so the question in the RP was: do we want to be associated with those people? or do we clean up our RP?
    Agatha Macbeth: Tough call
    Wol Euler: yeah
Wol Euler: in the end the sim owner got pissed off with it all: people playing for free, but wanting to steer discussion and decision
Wol Euler: and just pulled the plug
    Agatha Macbeth: Unsurprisingly
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Agatha Macbeth: Good job I turned up this morning, or you'd have been quite lonely
    Wol Euler: :)
Wol Euler: that happens. usually I talk to myself
Wol Euler: or just sit and work on scripts (guilt attack)
    Agatha Macbeth: Hee
Wol Euler: yeah, I've been dodging Calvino for a week.
    Wol Euler sighs
    Agatha Macbeth: Aw
Agatha Macbeth: You saw him last night
Wol Euler waves. Hi Cal, I'll do it htis weekend! promise!
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe he didn't recognise you as a box
Wol Euler: oh yes, he's very decent about not applying pressure verbally :)
Wol Euler: just sits there looking mournful like a beagle refused sausages
Agatha Macbeth: Who could refuse a beagle sausages?
Wol Euler: heartlesss people, aggers, but apparently it happens.
Agatha Macbeth: That's what's wrong with the world
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Wol Euler: too many empty beagles.
Agatha Macbeth thinks of Snoopy on his kennel
    Wol Euler: or heartlessness
    Agatha Macbeth: Probably the latter
Agatha Macbeth: Don't get many noobs at this time then?
    Wol Euler: very seldom
Wol Euler: they are late risers.
    Agatha Macbeth grins
    Wol Euler: it's true though.
Wol Euler: perhaps they are all at work
    Agatha Macbeth: Hm
Agatha Macbeth: Most seem to appear at the 1300s
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Wol Euler: afternoon to evening for most of the world
    Wol Euler: so after school/work
Agatha Macbeth: Never met a real Japanese person here tho
Agatha Macbeth: (Unless you count Pema) :p
    Wol Euler: :)
    Wol Euler: he nearly counts.
Agatha Macbeth: The time difference is horrendous for them
    Wol Euler: yep
Wol Euler: perhaps there are enormous hordes of Japanese and Chinese and other Asian groups, wandering the world in their own times?
Agatha Macbeth: Don't seem to see many Scandinavians either, which is odd considering how good their English usually is
Wol Euler: and we just never meet them
Agatha Macbeth: Perhaps they are on Open Sim?
    Wol Euler: heh
    Wol Euler: that might be.
    Agatha Macbeth: What's OOC?
Wol Euler: part of the RP outfit, "out of character"
    Agatha Macbeth: Ha
Wol Euler: meaning "I am just passing through en route to where my character should be, don't talk to me"
Wol Euler: I've forgottten how to change the title though :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Ok I won't then ;-)
Wol Euler: the reason is that TP is (was) forbidden within the RP, you had to walk or take in-game transport to get around
Wol Euler: so you spent a fair amount of time walking at the start of each session
    Agatha Macbeth: God
Wol Euler: and people need to know the difference between a person who is RPing walking past them
Wol Euler: and a person who is trying to pass by to get to *her* RP
    Agatha Macbeth: Aha
    Wol Euler grins
Wol Euler: the rules around RPing are fascinating
    Agatha Macbeth: Feindishly crever
Wol Euler: that interested me far more than hte sci-fi RP itself :)
Wol Euler: the meta-rules and meta-behaviours
    Agatha Macbeth: Not surprised
    Agatha Macbeth: Meta misbehaviours
Wol Euler: reminded me of when I was a kid, playing with my sister. We had an agreed code to "pause" the game we were playing with our clay figures or whatever
Wol Euler: to discuss what would happen next
Agatha Macbeth: Clay figures? Did you live in a cave or something? :p
    Wol Euler: yep
    Agatha Macbeth: Troglo-Wol
Wol Euler: figurines that came in boxes of teabags
    Wol Euler: pg tips maybe
Wol Euler: my grandmother drank gallons of the stuff, saved the figurines for us
Agatha Macbeth: I only remember the chimps :)
Agatha Macbeth: They were made of CLAY?
Wol Euler: well, I call it clay. Might have been well-baked tealeaf residue
    Wol Euler: ceramic
    Agatha Macbeth: Not plastic then?
Wol Euler: not then, no :)
    Wol Euler is surprisingly old.
Agatha Macbeth: What kind of figures?
    Wol Euler: animals
Wol Euler: a cross between the anthropomorphism of Wind in the Willows, and pure biological naturalism
    Wol Euler: strange sometimes
Agatha Macbeth: Don't remember anything like that here
    Wol Euler: huh
Wol Euler: but but but but ... we didn't use teabags. So where did we get tehm from?
Agatha Macbeth: Musta drunk different tea
Wol Euler: all those years, I assumed they came from Nanny's tea addiction
Agatha Macbeth: Well they evidently came from somewhere
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
    Wol Euler: a mystery.
Wol Euler: have you seen "the wonderful world of Amelie"?
    Agatha Macbeth: Film?
Wol Euler: french film, girl with huge moist eyes
Wol Euler: tries to improve the world, with mixed success
    Agatha Macbeth: Don't *think* so
Wol Euler: photo-booths play a significant role
    Wol Euler: well worth seeing
    Agatha Macbeth: How so?
Wol Euler: rent it for yourself for this evening, unless you have something else planned
Wol Euler: it's relevant to how I feel now about the discussion of these figures
Wol Euler: but I can't tell you without it being a *major* spoiler.
    Agatha Macbeth: Oh hell
    Wol Euler: heheheheheh
Agatha Macbeth: You know, we've put more chat in this log with the two of us than sometimes you get with half a dozen people
Wol Euler: and yes, that's true :)
Wol Euler: this is why I think that small retreat groups are better than large
Agatha Macbeth: That looks cute :)
Wol Euler: pema says "no, just different", but I think there is a difference in quality caused by the different amount of participation
Wol Euler: it is, it's a lovely film.
Agatha Macbeth: I would probably agree
    Wol Euler: full of goodnesses.
Agatha Macbeth: I'm sure i have heard of it
Wol Euler: I'm certtain that you have. it was a huge out-of-the-blue success, made her career
Wol Euler: but I must go, work is waiting.
Agatha Macbeth: Who is the actress?
    Agatha Macbeth: Ok
Agatha Macbeth: Nice seeing you at this time :)
    Wol Euler: audrey tatou
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah, yes
    Wol Euler: wait
    Agatha Macbeth: ??
    Wol Euler: stand please :)
    Wol Euler: hug aga
    Wol Euler: bugger
    Wol Euler: /hug agatha
    Agatha Macbeth: Preferably the former
    Wol Euler: happy birthday
Agatha Macbeth: Are you getting shorter?
    Agatha Macbeth: ty :)
Wol Euler: not wearing heels :)
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe I'm getting taller then
Wol Euler: but actually maybe this is the short body
Agatha Macbeth: You are usually taller than this
Wol Euler: anyway. have a great day, agatha.
Agatha Macbeth: You too, take care
    Agatha Macbeth: Aha
Wol Euler: yeah, apparentyly I buggered up my normal shape :(((((((
    Agatha Macbeth slaps you
    Wol Euler: yeah
    Wol Euler: gotta go.
    Agatha Macbeth: C ya
Wol Euler: see you this evening :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Yay
