Archmage Atlantis: The silence was a nice time to think of a beautiful performance I saw on tv

    SophiaSharon Larnia: *grins* back
Malissia Dotcheva: I like the Oak tree because maybe I would wind up as a nice piece of furniture.
    SophiaSharon Larnia: lol
Lugh Fehr: i would be a carrob
SophiaSharon Larnia: i like the willow because it bends in the wind
Kit Ciaco: What's a carrob, Lugh?
SophiaSharon Larnia: isnt thsat like chocolate?
Kit Ciaco: And the willow is so graceful, too, SS
Lugh Fehr: let me check if i got it right in english
Archmage Atlantis: Hum, if I was going to be converted into furniture, I'd pick hickory, pecan or Brazilian Rosewood
    Lugh Fehr: http://www.google.com.mt/images?q=carob+tree&um=1&ie=UTF-8&source=univ&ei=30o7Tcy-HoyeOrnG-

    Kit Ciaco: LOL!@
    Kit Ciaco: Sorry

Kit Ciaco: I believe I out-did myself on this one!
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Alfred Kelberry: kit, how do you record sounds?
Alfred Kelberry: a simple mike will do?
Kit Ciaco: I just use the windows sound recorder then convert it to a sav file
Kit Ciaco: takes about 5 minutes or so, then uploading and such
    Alfred Kelberry: sav?
    Alfred Kelberry: ah, wav
Kit Ciaco: yes - REAL simple

SophiaSharon Larnia: ive just uploaded premade clips and played with them on audacity
    Kit Ciaco: I love minimalism!
    Alfred Kelberry: yep, me too
Archmage Atlantis: I call it poverty, but ....
Kit Ciaco: I make my own sound files from the flutes I build in rl
SophiaSharon Larnia: nothing as involved as what i think youre talking about :)
Archmage Atlantis: everything is relative :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: wow
Kit Ciaco: so I can control the sound better
    SophiaSharon Larnia: very nice
    Kit Ciaco: thanks!
Malissia Dotcheva: My daughter and I compete as to who can get stuff cheaper lol

    Malissia Dotcheva: Hi stev
    stevenaia Michinaga: :) thx boxy
Malissia Dotcheva: more like clothing or furniture

Alfred Kelberry: sophia, a flute :)
Kit Ciaco: touch one of them, ss
SophiaSharon Larnia pushs the yellow one
stevenaia Michinaga: seems I cannot push boxy's buttons...smile

Kit Ciaco: stevenaia, just swing your camera view around behind him!
    SophiaSharon Larnia: eep sorry
    Lugh Fehr: coool
Malissia Dotcheva: That is so true. I believe you can critic someone without being mean or hateful
    stevenaia Michinaga: I see them
Malissia Dotcheva: I have noticed a lot of television shows glorify hateful and mean spiritness.
    Lugh Fehr: brb
    Archmage Atlantis: Agree, Malissia
stevenaia Michinaga: the need to judge for the entertainment of others
Malissia Dotcheva: It is like we have to put someone else down to make us feel good. It is very sad to me.
Alfred Kelberry: who's to blame is more fun than how to fix it

    --BELL--

    Alfred Kelberry: *nods to mal*
Archmage Atlantis: *[interesting thought topic for silent time:*
Malissia Dotcheva: Imagine if each one of us took the time to give positive feedback to one person each day how much better the world would be.
stevenaia Michinaga: I have seen that and it is that simple :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: thats a very good suggestion malissia
    Kit Ciaco: I agree, M!
Alfred Kelberry: i always give feedback to stev on her lovely dress :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)
Malissia Dotcheva: I am a huge John Lennon fan:)
Kit Ciaco: and to boxy for his lovely, ummm, cardoard fashion!
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :D
    Alfred Kelberry: hehe
stevenaia Michinaga: and I can't help but to smile
Alfred Kelberry: kit, minimalistic as well :)
    Kit Ciaco: yes
Kit Ciaco: I feel overdressed right now
Kit Ciaco: I usually go barefoot
    Kit Ciaco: 1
    Malissia Dotcheva: LOL
Alfred Kelberry: i have a pin button that says "imagine peace" :)
Alfred Kelberry: it's from yoko's exhibition
    Malissia Dotcheva: Awesome!
    Kit Ciaco: Yes!
Archmage Atlantis: Actually,Alfred, now that the discussion has turned that way......the look does sort of remind me of that movie with the robot

left behind on earth......I can't remember it at the momemnt
    Kit Ciaco: ET??
    Kit Ciaco: no
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Archmage Atlantis: More recent than ET, and ET was an alien, not a robot
    Archmage Atlantis: Hiya Lucinda
    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi lucinda :)
    Malissia Dotcheva: short circuit?
Kit Ciaco: short circuit was cool, too
    Lucinda Lavender: HI all...
Alfred Kelberry: i really like the day the earth stood still :)
    Malissia Dotcheva: Hi
    Alfred Kelberry: 1951
Kit Ciaco: Yeah, that's a classic!
Alfred Kelberry: kit! oh yes, i remember this one
Alfred Kelberry: it's from the 80s
Kit Ciaco: yes - it's so retro!
Archmage Atlantis: Didn't "The Day..." get redone
    Kit Ciaco: hahahahhahahahaha
Kit Ciaco: The era of big hair!
    Malissia Dotcheva: LOL
Alfred Kelberry: yes, arch, with neo :)
    Malissia Dotcheva: Flash dance LOL
Archmage Atlantis: Klaatu mirimba nictoo...or something like that
    Alfred Kelberry: haha
Alfred Kelberry: very nice, arch :)

*Arch finally remembers WALL-E while editing the log (duh) - and then looks up "The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951), remade in (2008) - discovers the correct phrase is "Klaatu barada nikto", for which no translation is ever provided, yet has been described by The Robot Hall of Fame as one ofthe most famous commands in science fiction" and "the most famous phrase ever spoken by an extraterrestrial." Klaatu being the extraterrestrial and Gort being the robot. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Day...ll_(1951_film)]*

    Lugh Fehr: back
    Alfred Kelberry: oh, luci :)
    Lucinda Lavender: yes?
    Alfred Kelberry: hi :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: Hi Chi
    Lucinda Lavender: :) hi
    Chi Aho: Hello, all
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Chi
    Lugh Fehr: hey chi
    Archmage Atlantis: Hello Chi
Chi Aho: any particular topic today?
    Alfred Kelberry: um...
Roland Maven: how about the holy instant
Archmage Atlantis: trees, robots, movies, dresses, frugal shopping
Lucinda Lavender: listening...and currious about it...
    Archmage Atlantis: complements and kindness
    Archmage Atlantis: big range
    Roland Maven: currious about?
    Lucinda Lavender: holy instant...
    Roland Maven: ok
Roland Maven: can I share with the group
Chi Aho: Is the holy instant the instant when you realize there is a godness to the cosmos?
    Kit Ciaco: and nuts
    Archmage Atlantis: Please do
    SophiaSharon Larnia: giggles at Lucinda
Kit Ciaco: The holy instant may be right now
    Lugh Fehr: hehee
Roland Maven: The holy instan is the holy spirits most useful learning device for teaching us loves meaning
Roland Maven: For it's purpose is to suspend judgement entirely
Roland Maven: Yes, righ now :)
Kit Ciaco: Do you make a distinction between judgment and discernment?
Alfred Kelberry: another term for dropping? :)
Malissia Dotcheva: `You mean like faith?
Roland Maven: Like the moment of being totally present
Roland Maven: without past thoughts nor future
Archmage Atlantis: A moment of clarity, perhaps.
    Malissia Dotcheva: Faith!
    Kit Ciaco: now
Roland Maven: not faith, but being
    Roland Maven: being totally free
    Kit Ciaco: sane difference, Ro
Lugh Fehr: moving between realaty and the world of oz?
Malissia Dotcheva: isn't faith - being?

    --BELL--

    Roland Maven: Just being present
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Roland Maven: Imagine just being present to creation - without all the past to determine your future
Roland Maven: I think Faith is faith in something one cannot see
    SophiaSharon Larnia: listening
Roland Maven: being is being Present with what is right here
    Kit Ciaco: now
Roland Maven: Being open to trying new things without fear for instants
Archmage Atlantis: I think, in most aspects, that is how the concept of PaB came into being.......a moment taken in a busy day to just exist, to

    just be
Roland Maven: Being present for someone fully
Roland Maven: Being present to Love rather than fear
    Kit Ciaco: good point, Arch
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
    Roland Maven: Nice
Lugh Fehr: as they say you cant run from now all you can do is remember the past now
    Malissia Dotcheva: true
Alfred Kelberry: roland, in this framework where no past records, nor future assumptions, fear steps aside indeed :)
    Archmage Atlantis: Hello Violadimare
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Violadimare
    Roland Maven: Yes, I think
    Violadimare Resident: HI
Roland Maven: If I understand you correctly -
    Lugh Fehr: hi vola
    Roland Maven: It's about Love
Roland Maven: Being able to experience love fully - without fear thoughts
Malissia Dotcheva: Back to John Lennon and peace we were talking about that before.
    Kit Ciaco: you're right, M!
    Roland Maven: :)
    Kit Ciaco: Imagine!
Malissia Dotcheva: There are so many ways that one can understand love and peace ism't there?
    Roland Maven: Yes
    Malissia Dotcheva: Isn't
    Kit Ciaco: agreed, M
    Alfred Kelberry: love is real...
    Alfred Kelberry: real is love...
    Kit Ciaco: music is real
Malissia Dotcheva: Awesome Boxy!! It sure is!!
Violadimare Resident: I am new… I say to me
Lucinda Lavender: thinking about how when we are sitting comfortably it is a sitting of love...and when we are sitting in fear ....not sure maybe

    love seems veiled
    Roland Maven: We are real
Kit Ciaco: some of us are
    Kit Ciaco: some are not
    Roland Maven: :)
Kit Ciaco: some are self defined as being "fake"
    Alfred Kelberry: kit :)
Malissia Dotcheva: My son in law got a framed quote that states Music is what feelings sound like
Kit Ciaco: Oh, I like that, M
    SophiaSharon Larnia: nice
Alfred Kelberry: yes, a language of soul
    Lugh Fehr: haha nice
Malissia Dotcheva: I mean on SL we can pretend to be anything that we want to be It does not mean that it is real
    Kit Ciaco: I wonder
Kit Ciaco: perhaps for that moment is IS real?
Alfred Kelberry: either you pretend or not, it's still real :)
    Roland Maven: I agree alfred
Malissia Dotcheva: The emotions I would think
Lugh Fehr: sl is a real virtual realalaty
    Alfred Kelberry: perception may differ
Chi Aho: I don't see how anyone would define him/herself as "fake"; are there examples?
    Kit Ciaco: fascinating, Boxy!!!
    Kit Ciaco: I like that
Lugh Fehr: what is not realany way
    Kit Ciaco: yes
Kit Ciaco: I'm working with a young man right now who describes himself as being fake
Kit Ciaco: because he lives a lie to everyone
Kit Ciaco: puts on a front that is very much not consistent with his self image
Kit Ciaco: so he calls himself a fake
Malissia Dotcheva: I wish that I( was a young blonde again but it is not so I also like to dress up as the grim reaper but it is not who I am
Chi Aho: must have read Catcher in the Rye
Alfred Kelberry: fake is when expectation does not match perception :)
Kit Ciaco: Yes - I've thought that as well!
    Kit Ciaco: yes, boxy
Kit Ciaco: I think so, too
    Roland Maven: Peace
SophiaSharon Larnia: bye Roland thank for sharing
    Archmage Atlantis: bye Roland

    Chi Aho: ah, emotion
Lucinda Lavender: appreciation is one word that comes to mind

Lucinda Lavender: feel thaI like and study music and dreaming...
Lucinda Lavender: this kind of study is one that gathers a certain sense of being supported for certain ways of knowing
Chi Aho: I don't quite get your meaning here
Lucinda Lavender: I think I sense love through music and through dream study
Lucinda Lavender: going to a unifieds place in sound
Chi Aho: I see; for you then it is an emotional, perhaps also a spiritual experience
Lucinda Lavender: spiritual yes...and through the emotional connection the spiritual opened up
    Lucinda Lavender: how about you?
Chi Aho: I hadn't thought about it the way you describe it
Chi Aho: I see it as an activity; something that we do
Chi Aho: It is giving primarily, but also...
Chi Aho: sharing, caring, having compassion, showing empathy, listening, being tender, warm
Chi Aho: something that we do
    Lucinda Lavender: nodding
Chi Aho: to me all part of emotional development (see 1st life profile)
    Lucinda Lavender: I see:)
Chi Aho: BTW, someone taught me that; it isn't mine really
    Lucinda Lavender: yes...ok
Chi Aho: I've incorporated that teaching into my thinking; my rl gf taught me that
    Lucinda Lavender: lovely...
    Chi Aho: true
Chi Aho: She said "Its easy - love is something that you do."
Lucinda Lavender: I have had the opportunity to meet many children through work and it is a place where I get to see their natural desire for

    sharing, caring, etc
Chi Aho: Yes, I believe that with children this comes naturally, but later we learn to be more egocentric
Lucinda Lavender: we spend a great amount of the year woring on helping them see what makes a friend..
    .
    --BELL--

Lucinda Lavender: some words can be"too strong" and we hjelp them to write notes about their concerns...their needs...
    Chi Aho: interesting
Chi Aho: We all need to be conscious of the fact that other people have their own wishes, desires, ambitions, hopes, dreams....etc.
Chi Aho: not to speak of needs
Lucinda Lavender: yes...giving them the sense that their experience is important...and can be used to draw them closer to what might need to be

changed...in hope that it will become softer easier to navigate
Chi Aho: You know the concept of narcissism is widely misunderstood by the public; the narcissist does not see other people this way, but instead

seees them as an extension of himself/ herself
Chi Aho: He or she knows in a vague way that other people do indeed exist in their own right, but so far as he/she is concerned they, if they are in

the picture at all, exist for the narcissist.
    Lucinda Lavender: ah...yes
Chi Aho: So they think nothing at all of using other people
Chi Aho: for whatever they may have in mind or for whatever they may need
Lucinda Lavender: not very healthy for development...
Chi Aho: It is a kind of self love
Chi Aho: but more importantly it is a neglect of others who should count for the person
Chi Aho: those others go without the love that they need
Lucinda Lavender: a way of not really seeing the others....sad really
Chi Aho: yeah, that is exactly what is involved here
Chi Aho: When you really love another, your focus is totally on them.
Lucinda Lavender: I do not know much about it but imagine it is highly confusing...
Chi Aho: When you move out of their lives, for them it is as though you don't exist - you do in a vague sense, but not with any emotional impact

    upon the narcissist.
Chi Aho: They don't know how to love.
Chi Aho: Thank God someone taught me; I hadn't learned - my own mother was as narcissistic as a person could be.

    --BELL--

Chi Aho: For one period, when I moved about 1000 miles away from her home she did not call or write me for 7 years.
Lucinda Lavender: unreal sort of situation for her....and now it is different for you thankfully
Chi Aho: Yes, thank you. It is very different now. Love is such a need, a strong need that people have, and often unmet.
Lucinda Lavender: It is wonderful that you are headed toward a knowlege of love as you are...happy for this...I will need to leave shortly...
Chi Aho: Yes, I understand. I also need to go. It is after 6 p.m. here
Lucinda Lavender: people are so very strong ...pictures can change...
    Chi Aho: ?
    Lucinda Lavender: like for you...learning...
Chi Aho: Oh, you mean as the picture changed for me
    Lucinda Lavender: yes
    Chi Aho: Yes.
Chi Aho: Well, I will go on now too.
Chi Aho: Will see you here again, I am sure.
    Lucinda Lavender: yes:)
    Chi Aho: Bye for now
Lucinda Lavender: it is a frequently inhabited place by me:)
    Chi Aho chuckles
Lucinda Lavender: good evening to you:)
    Chi Aho: and to you
    Lucinda Lavender: thnaks:)
