    Aphrodite Macbain: Hiya Bruce
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Aph!
Bruce Mowbray: Is this your session?
Aphrodite Macbain: yes. My last as next week Calvino will begin to use this time for his original face session next week
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I've just discussed that theme session with Cal.
Aphrodite Macbain: yes? anything new to know? What's happening with you?
Bruce Mowbray: How's your Himalayan Panda today?
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
Aphrodite Macbain: Ping is happy. she's sleeping right now
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi susan
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Susan.
    Aphrodite Macbain: welcome
    iwandertoo Resident: ty
Bruce Mowbray: Have you been introduced to Aph's panda, Susan?
iwandertoo Resident: no, i don't think so
Aphrodite Macbain: oh sorry, Susan meet Ping, she's an Himalayan panda, has a brother called Pong
    iwandertoo Resident: ty
    Aphrodite Macbain: they play together
Aphrodite Macbain: Tell us moreabout the face theme sessions bruce
    Bruce Mowbray: OK.

    Original face
Bruce Mowbray: Well, it is scheduled for this hour next Saturday. . .
Bruce Mowbray: and Liza, Cal, and I have been meeting to be sure we're able to convey the proper information about that new group -- to persons who might be interested.
    Aphrodite Macbain: hehe
Aphrodite Macbain: I'm a little confused about the notion of an original face
Bruce Mowbray: Blub is very curious about panda.
Bruce Mowbray: OK. Well, the name is taken from the koan --
Bruce Mowbray: You are familiar with it?
Aphrodite Macbain: is it supposed to be the face behind the masks we put on?
    Bruce Mowbray: nope.
Bruce Mowbray: It is from an ancient koan which asks:
Bruce Mowbray: What was your original face before your parents were born?
Bruce Mowbray: As with all koans, the intention is to transcend discursive thought.
Aphrodite Macbain: oh. this presuppose reincarnation I guess
Bruce Mowbray: so, the group will be largely contemplative in form and purpose.
Bruce Mowbray: but We should probably wait until next week to get the whole picture, huh?
    Aphrodite Macbain: without discussion?
    Aphrodite Macbain: sure
    Aphrodite Macbain: I can wait
Aphrodite Macbain: That's what life seems to be made of, waiting
Bruce Mowbray: No-- reincarnation presupposes some narrative of thought.
    Bruce Mowbray: we don't.
Bruce Mowbray: re: the "waiting" thing:
    Bruce Mowbray: Dont miss it.
    Aphrodite Macbain: hehe
Aphrodite Macbain: how to calm impatience?
Bruce Mowbray: Hey, speaking of missing stuff....
Bruce Mowbray: Do you like my sweater?
Bruce Mowbray: I cleaned out my inventory this morning and found it there.
Bruce Mowbray: forgot that I had it altogether.
Aphrodite Macbain: Yes, I was admiring it earlier - it has a Ukrainian look to it
Bruce Mowbray: so decided to wear it!
    iwandertoo Resident: very nordic
    Aphrodite Macbain: very smart
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I believe it IS Ukranian!
    Bruce Mowbray: TY!
    Aphrodite Macbain: Salve Qt
    Qt Core: hi all
    Bruce Mowbray: Salve, Qt!
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
    Aphrodite Macbain: come stai?
Qt Core: bene, grazie, tu ?
Bruce Mowbray: Oh, don't be shy, Susan.
iwandertoo Resident: my avatar seems to be moving on its own
iwandertoo Resident: not sure what i am doing to cause it
Bruce Mowbray: but sit wherever you're comfortable, by all means.
Aphrodite Macbain: benissima ma I am recovering from surgery
    Bruce Mowbray: Oh dear.
Aphrodite Macbain: and I am being very careful
Bruce Mowbray: please be gentle with yourself, Aph.
Aphrodite Macbain: drugs and pain killers help me on my way!
Qt Core: nothing major/tragic i hope
    Bruce Mowbray is very concerned.
Aphrodite Macbain: no, I'm fine. Not to worry. Forces me to slow down
Aphrodite Macbain: Friends are helping out
    Bruce Mowbray: OK..
Qt Core: good to hear that :-)
Bruce Mowbray sends Aph many healing wishes and vibes.
Aphrodite Macbain: I am reading more now that I have an excuse!
    iwandertoo Resident: :)
Bruce Mowbray: /be is happy to hear that Aph has friends heling.
    Aphrodite Macbain: Thank you Bruce
    --BELL--
Bruce Mowbray is wondering why he can't type better,
Aphrodite Macbain: What do the rest of you do when you're sick?
Aphrodite Macbain: Try and sleep and wait for it to go away?
Aphrodite Macbain: Take on a new project?
Bruce Mowbray can't sleep during the daytime.
Aphrodite Macbain: Take the opportunity to talk to friends?
    iwandertoo Resident: puzzles
Bruce Mowbray: I have been working on a self-made koan, of sorts.
Bruce Mowbray: Is has to do with my practice.
    Aphrodite Macbain smiles at Susan
Bruce Mowbray also smiles at Susan.
    Aphrodite Macbain: jiggsaw puzzles?
    iwandertoo Resident: yes
    iwandertoo Resident: and others too
Aphrodite Macbain: yes. very relaxing and creative at the same time.
    Bruce Mowbray: Mmmmm.
Aphrodite Macbain: Bruce- what is the Koan?

    Goals and results or not

Bruce Mowbray finds it difficult to be relaxed AND creative at the same time.
Bruce Mowbray: Well, the "koan" (it's not really a koan, you understand) is. . .
Aphrodite Macbain: Interesting. I am creative only when I am relaxed. things flow more readily
Bruce Mowbray: the difference between "results" and "goals."
Aphrodite Macbain: one comes after the other
Bruce Mowbray: In my practice. . . the are (obviously) "results.
Aphrodite Macbain: you need goals before you get results, perhaps
    Bruce Mowbray: but....
Bruce Mowbray: there really are no "goals."
Aphrodite Macbain: why do you say that?
Bruce Mowbray: So, I am thinking that I would like "compassions, and loving-kindness, etc." to be "goals. . .
Bruce Mowbray: but they are not.
    Bruce Mowbray: (I think).
Bruce Mowbray: I'm thinking that the Four Immeasurables are really "results" of our practice -- or at least of MY practice.
Aphrodite Macbain: One goal might be that I learn to feel compassion for my enemies
Bruce Mowbray: and this is a bit of a conundrum for me.
    Bruce Mowbray listens./
Aphrodite Macbain: a result may be that I only learn to feel compassion for some friends
Bruce Mowbray: Hmmmm.. That's wonderful, Aph.
Aphrodite Macbain: we get caught in the words and need to define them
Bruce Mowbray: What do Susan and Qt think?
Aphrodite Macbain: I feel it is important to define some long term goals, they give us a path, an agenda.
    Aphrodite Macbain: susan? Qt?
Bruce Mowbray:  has NO long-term agenda or goal.
iwandertoo Resident: definitions are essential, goals, action, all important
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hello Sun!
Sunshine Vayandar: hi there Aph, Bruce, Susan and Qt ;)
    Aphrodite Macbain: hehe Bruce
    iwandertoo Resident: waves ::)
Bruce Mowbray: Why are definitions essential, Susan?
    Qt Core: hi sunshine
    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Sun!
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
iwandertoo Resident: to evaluate one's progress, to communicate effectively, to observe oneself
Bruce Mowbray: I do wanted to make it to the concert this afternoon -- but there was a bad storm moving through and I couldn't get on-line, Sun.
Bruce Mowbray: * so wanted to.
Sunshine Vayandar: oh np Bruce ;)
Sunshine Vayandar: we will do it many times
Qt Core: i think i prefer calling them directions, as many are (almost) unobtainable
Aphrodite Macbain: everyone may have differing definitions of a word so it is important to state yours so there is no confusion
    iwandertoo Resident: nods with Aphrodite
    Sunshine Vayandar: hi Hum-san ;)
Bruce Mowbray doubts that we'll ever be able to agree on "definitions."
    Zen Arado: Hi all
Bruce Mowbray: But it's fun trying, anyway!
    Qt Core: agree
    Aphrodite Macbain grins
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hiya Zen
Bruce Mowbray: GOSH, it's great to see you, Sun.
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;);)
iwandertoo Resident: i think we can...it's just the manner of adopting the usage of the word by the specified definition

    Fishy frolics

Aphrodite Macbain: (looks at a fish swimming around Sunshine called Mignon) Love that Mignon - is it a filet?
    Sunshine Vayandar: filet?
    Sunshine Vayandar: it's a guppy
    Aphrodite Macbain: filet mignon....sorry:-)
    Bruce Mowbray: Oh!Q Mignon!
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Mignon!!!!
Sunshine Vayandar: here is Mignon's sister Aph (Sun gives Aph a guppy of her own)

Sunshine Vayandar: Mignon waves a tiny fin to Bruce
Bruce Mowbray: Blub waves a tiny fin to Mignon.
Aphrodite Macbain: I'll call her mignontte
    Aphrodite Macbain: no mignonette
    Sunshine Vayandar: Mignon winks ;)
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;))
    Aphrodite Macbain: or maybe minuette
Bruce Mowbray: Lovely -- like an aquarium

    Party nostalgia

Bruce Mowbray: Did anyone else have a bit of an emotional "down-swing" after all the excitement of the birthday party?
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Zen!
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Sunshine Vayandar: The party was so great Bruce
Bruce Mowbray: The party was WONDERFUL!!!!
Bruce Mowbray: The best thing I've ever done in SL.
Sunshine Vayandar: but I am in that party mood eversince
Bruce Mowbray: YESA! Me too, Sun!
    --BELL--
Sunshine Vayandar: thanks the Aph - angel of all parties ;)
Aphrodite Macbain: Shows how nice it can be to work together on something
    Sunshine Vayandar: _/\_

    Pathways

Aphrodite Macbain: Earlier we were talking about our goals or intentions. Dowe have them. Personal or otherwise?
Bruce Mowbray: I have no goals.
    Bruce Mowbray: How about others?
Aphrodite Macbain: For without some kind of search or path we are directionless
    Bruce Mowbray loves being directionless.
    Bruce Mowbray: Others?
Sunshine Vayandar: hmm I used to have a lot of plans - weekly, monthly yearly ...
Sunshine Vayandar: but it's different now
Sunshine Vayandar: I do still have some direction
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes?
Aphrodite Macbain: can you describe it Sun

Sunshine Vayandar: hmm I focus much more on the present
Sunshine Vayandar: not so much on things I will do and achieve later in the future
Zen Arado: we need so much mental stimulation don't we?
Sunshine Vayandar: I could sit with you guys for years and talk here hehe
Zen Arado: was reading about a monastery.."In the daytime when the monks are meditating, if there is any sound in the temple it will be only that of a mouse or a rat. © First Zen Institute, New York city These monks are not retiring from the world; they are trying to find quietude in their minds."
Sunshine Vayandar: if the time stops now - that is ok ;)
Bruce Mowbray: Zen, before you arrived I said that there was a difference between "goals" and "results" of practice....
Aphrodite Macbain: I am thinking a bit in terms of the various paths that Buddhists take toward understanding the self and helping all sentient beings
Bruce Mowbray loves going to New York for peace and quiet.
Zen Arado: "Perhaps you will ask, what value is there in that quiet and aloof way of life? The monks would ask the same question of you. What value is there in passing your nights in a nightclub?
Bruce Mowbray will be in New York next month . . .
Sunshine Vayandar: really ;) you must be lookin forward ...
Bruce Mowbray: What "value" is there is ANYthing? Actually. . .
Aphrodite Macbain: But there is also value in sitting with a group of friends - laughing, talking, eating, discussing
    Bruce Mowbray: Oh YES!
Sunshine Vayandar: yes Aph - it's priceless ;)
Aphrodite Macbain: does that take us away from a quiet mind?
    Zen Arado: yeh
Zen Arado: part of me likes that but other part wants peace and silence
Aphrodite Macbain: I was afraid you might say that:-)
Bruce Mowbray: "Quiet Mind" is not my goal -- it is the result of my practice.
    Aphrodite Macbain: It's my goal
Bruce Mowbray: It is ONE result of my practice.
Sunshine Vayandar: yes Bruce I like that ...
    Sunshine Vayandar: result
Aphrodite Macbain: to have a quiet mind WITHIN the bustle of daily life
    Aphrodite Macbain: that's the challenge
    Bruce Mowbray: Hmmmm.. Wonderful, Aph.
Aphrodite Macbain: to be unhooked from disruptive emotions
Sunshine Vayandar: how u find peace and quiet in New York? hmm
    Aphrodite Macbain: exactly
Bruce Mowbray: Would that mean holding two opposing "reactions" or "results" at the same time?

Sunshine Vayandar: I just saw the film "Fame"
Zen Arado: to have equanimity in the uncertainty
Sunshine Vayandar: it's in New York right?
Bruce Mowbray: Ahhhh "Fame" is GREAT!
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, it is about the School for the Performing Arts in NYC.
Aphrodite Macbain tries to remember what fame is about
Zen Arado: ah the old TV series
    Aphrodite Macbain: oh yes
Sunshine Vayandar: ;) reminds me of my music school years ...we had dancers also and musicians .... and we played everyday

Aphrodite Macbain: sometimes I wish I could start my life over again
Sunshine Vayandar: I really liked New York when I was there ...
    Sunshine Vayandar: start over?
Zen Arado: I did philosophy and we argued every day :)
Bruce Mowbray: oh dear. . . Aph!????
    Sunshine Vayandar: hehe Zen ;)
Bruce Mowbray: Maybe you can start your life over RIGHT NOW. . . (?)
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Aphrodite Macbain: yes. today is the first day... etc
    Bruce Mowbray: Really!
Zen Arado: every moment is a new one
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;) yes
Zen Arado: don't let the old moments colour it
Aphrodite Macbain: The idea of attending a music or performance school as part of high school would be so wonderful
Sunshine Vayandar: well we can do it together now ;)

Bruce Mowbray: Suggestion for our next "drop" coming up in 3 minutes: Drop all of the stories about yourself.
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;))
    Aphrodite Macbain: :-) grins.
Zen Arado: cos that's what they are..stories
Aphrodite Macbain: Drop the need to drop the stories because they are treasures
    Zen Arado: Hi Alf -san
    Alfred Kelberry: hi :)
    Zen Arado: :)
    iwandertoo Resident: nods
    Sunshine Vayandar: greetings Alf-san
    Aphrodite Macbain: Hi Boxy
    Sunshine Vayandar: meep!
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
    Bruce Mowbray: Hi, Boxy!
    Qt Core: hi Alfred
Aphrodite Macbain: where did san come from?
    --BELL--
Aphrodite Macbain: been to Japan recently Alfred?
Alfred Kelberry: no... guess i just look san-like :)
Aphrodite Macbain: what are those popping sounds?
Alfred Kelberry: touch my nose, aph :)
Sunshine Vayandar: I wonder what are those
    Aphrodite Macbain: ah
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;))
    Aphrodite Macbain: he
    Alfred Kelberry: :P
    Bruce Mowbray touches Boxy's nose.
    Alfred Kelberry: *wiggles his nose*
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;D
Qt Core: need to go, bye all
Aphrodite Macbain: nose cold and wet - nice and healthy

    iwandertoo Resident: waves, tc
    Alfred Kelberry: hehe
Sunshine Vayandar: take care Qt ;)
    Alfred Kelberry: thank you :)
    Aphrodite Macbain: Ciao Qt
    Aphrodite Macbain: Be well
    Zen Arado: ciao Qt
    Bruce Mowbray: Bye, Qt!
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye!

    Busy or drifting or bored?

Aphrodite Macbain: I find that without a project or intention I tend to drift
Zen Arado: maybe drifting is ok
Bruce Mowbray: What is this "drifting", Aph?
Aphrodite Macbain: meaninglessly. I feel I must do things, make things, organize things.
Sunshine Vayandar: I do have plans ... but I think I focus on the work - rather than goals ...
Zen Arado: trying to find meaning?
Bruce Mowbray: In traditional Buddhism, that might be what is called the "Human Realm" -- activity to produce change. . .
Zen Arado: I do the same
Sunshine Vayandar: I have many things I am busy with ..
    Zen Arado: scared of boredom?
Sunshine Vayandar: but it seems the process is what is important ...
Aphrodite Macbain: I don't so much want to be "busy" but to be doing something useful or creative
Zen Arado: or have self image @I am an actice achieving person'?
Sunshine Vayandar: creative way of being
Bruce Mowbray: well, no feeling that it needs to be "pathologized" . . . just that there is a need to be active -- and to see results.
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes Zen, perhaps
Zen Arado: I'm analysing myself too Aph
Aphrodite Macbain: "pathologized" is a bit strong Bruce
    Aphrodite Macbain: perhaps problematized?
Zen Arado: most of our activities are meaningless too in the long run
Bruce Mowbray: yes. I agree. But "overcoming boredom" through activity - - - seems a bit .....
Zen Arado: we can find refuge in activities
Bruce Mowbray: Again, here is the question of "goals" and "results."
Aphrodite Macbain: they may have value and meaning to some but not to others
iwandertoo Resident: these things we do right now - are who and what we are. this holds great meaning...
    Aphrodite Macbain: yes?
    Aphrodite Macbain: what meaning?
Bruce Mowbray: Absolutely no judgment or criticism intended. . . just looking carefully are what we do -- '''
    iwandertoo Resident: one's life
Bruce Mowbray: and whether we do it for some "goal" or that we simply do what we do and observe the "results" of our actions.
Aphrodite Macbain: the meaning of one's life, susan?
iwandertoo Resident: please ask another way, Aphrodite. Not certain what you are asking
    Bruce Mowbray loves Susan's comment.
Sunshine Vayandar: yes me too ;)
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Aphrodite Macbain: Ok sorry. You said these things we do, who and what we are. hold great meaning. I wasn't clear what meaning they have
    Bruce Mowbray: Ahhhh!
Bruce Mowbray feels that Aph has gone right to the heart of the matter.
iwandertoo Resident: they express what, how and our understanding of why we are in this world. conscious or not - our actions, small or large, do convey this.
Zen Arado: I was watching a group of people outside my window and they were obviously indignant about something and were also commiserating with this indignity and I thought about how we are so embroiled in our concerns and how important they are to us...but really...are they?
Zen Arado is in existential mode
iwandertoo Resident: re Zen's note, "one man's hill is another mans mountain"
    Aphrodite Macbain: or molehill!
    iwandertoo Resident: yes...or molehill
    Zen Arado: yes Susan
Bruce Mowbray thinks: THIS leaf, THIS face, THIS moment. . . .THIS mountain.... THIS hill....
    iwandertoo Resident: ant hill
    iwandertoo Resident: spec of sand
    Bruce Mowbray: Nothing is insignificant.
Bruce Mowbray: We are connected to ALL of it.
Aphrodite Macbain: speaking existentially, I feel that is is through action rather than through thought or theory that our lives are actualized
Bruce Mowbray: We ARE, indeed IT.
    Bruce Mowbray: *indeed
    iwandertoo Resident: nods with Aphrodite
Zen Arado: it's the importance we attach I am doubting
    --BELL--
Bruce Mowbray: I would agree, Aph, except to add that it is through our awareness of things. . .
Aphrodite Macbain: yes. how we chose our actions
Aphrodite Macbain: is informed by how we think about things
Bruce Mowbray: Pema says, "Appreciate the appearance . . . "
iwandertoo Resident: zen, i don't think i understand
Zen Arado: maybe it's because we expect everything to be a certain way
Zen Arado: and are always indignat when they don't turn out that way
Bruce Mowbray: What if we appreciated the appearance for what it is -- instread of expecting things to be a certain way?
    iwandertoo Resident: understand this
    iwandertoo Resident: thank you
Zen Arado: reality should be nice for us
Bruce Mowbray: THIS leaf -- as it is. THIS anthill for what it is. THIS face. . . etc.
Zen Arado: but it isn't a lot of the time
    Zen Arado: yes
    Bruce Mowbray: appreciating every appearance...
Sunshine Vayandar ponders about all that is said ...
Bruce Mowbray: Then, there would be only "result" and no need for "goals," or am I confused?
Zen Arado: yes...be surprised when things are good
    Zen Arado: and appreciative
Bruce Mowbray: To constantly be surprised. . .
    Aphrodite Macbain: and therefore open
    Zen Arado: beginner's mind
    Bruce Mowbray: Ahhhh!
Zen Arado: that saying of Suzuki is so profound
Bruce Mowbray is wondering if all stories are BLOOOOEY.
Aphrodite Macbain: what did he say Zen?
    Bruce Mowbray listens.
Zen Arado: " In the expert's mind there are few possibilities - in the beginner;s mind there are many"
Zen Arado: like we were saying eARLIER - WE CLOSE OFF THE POSSIBILITIES BY TELLING OURSELVES STORIES
    Bruce Mowbray: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCOVusLqXmk
Zen Arado: oh sorry for caps
Aphrodite Macbain: I have many possibilities then!
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
    Zen Arado: we all have
Bruce Mowbray: infinite possibilities in each moment.
Zen Arado: if we see every moment as fresh and new
    Zen Arado: yes
Alfred Kelberry: IT'S OK ZEN!!! :)
    Zen Arado: :)
Bruce Mowbray: "Dharma Gates are infinite -- I vow to enter them all."
Zen Arado: come and sit with us Alf
Alfred Kelberry: i'm ok here, thanks :)
Zen Arado: you look folorn on your own
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
    Alfred Kelberry: aww :)
Alfred Kelberry: *feels the warmth of the friends* :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Me too, Alf!
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Aphrodite Macbain reaches over and pats Boxy's nose
Alfred Kelberry: sorry, i'm getting ready for my trip, so a bit afk :)
Sunshine Vayandar: oh am I levitating
Zen Arado: your av appeals to my natural love for dogs
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    iwandertoo Resident: lol...you are
    Aphrodite Macbain: clever you!
Bruce Mowbray respects and honors all wishes to be hermitish.
Zen Arado: and desire to cuddle puppies
Sunshine Vayandar: ;)) I must have special powers
Alfred Kelberry: no doubt, sun :)
Sunshine Vayandar: hmm cuddling puppies ;)
    Aphrodite Macbain: lighter than air!
Bruce Mowbray: Where are you going on your trip, Alf?
Alfred Kelberry: *likes to be cuddled*
Sunshine Vayandar: or may be Alf's powers make me float
Bruce Mowbray: if I might ask.
    Zen Arado: cuddle power
Sunshine Vayandar: yay yes Zen ;)
Alfred Kelberry: um... not too far away :)
Alfred Kelberry: just a couple of days
    Zen Arado: he he
    Bruce Mowbray loves floating power.
iwandertoo Resident: waves. best to everyone.
Aphrodite Macbain: where are you going?
    Bruce Mowbray: Bye, Susan!
Sunshine Vayandar: byebyeee Susan take care
    Zen Arado: bye Susan :)
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
    Aphrodite Macbain: Bye

Sunshine Vayandar: have a great weekend
Aphrodite Macbain: I must go too and lie down a bit
Bruce Mowbray: Take care of yourself, Aph.
    Bruce Mowbray: Heal up well.
    Zen Arado: take care Aph
Sunshine Vayandar: kk Aph ;) zulu hugs Aph
Aphrodite Macbain: Maybe I'll see you at 4 at the Pub for a beer
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
    Bruce Mowbray: It's a deal!
Aphrodite Macbain: a game of darts?
    Bruce Mowbray: Beer's on me!
    Aphrodite Macbain: yayyy
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)))
    Zen Arado: like beer
    Bruce Mowbray: me too, Zen.
    Zen Arado: and wine
    Sunshine Vayandar: I don't
    Bruce Mowbray: and gin.
    Sunshine Vayandar: I like puppies
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Bruce Mowbray: puppies are also good.

    Puppies, beer, LSD and Amarula

    Zen Arado: yep
Bruce Mowbray: but puppies with beer --- Wonderful!
    Sunshine Vayandar: loll
Sunshine Vayandar: no no beer ruins the puppies part
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;p
Bruce Mowbray feels that he's drinking this beer entirely too fast to appreciate it.
    --BELL--
    Sunshine Vayandar: slow down ;)
    Alfred Kelberry: i don't like beer :)
Bruce Mowbray: I thought all dogs loved beer.
    Alfred Kelberry: not robopups
    Bruce Mowbray: Mmmm.
    Alfred Kelberry: they prefer tea
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Bruce Mowbray: Learn something new every moment.
Bruce Mowbray: Tea is also good.
Sunshine Vayandar: yes I just found a very nice tea on the shelf
    Alfred Kelberry: red wine
Zen Arado: a cold beer is nice in summer
    Sunshine Vayandar: with some spices
    Alfred Kelberry: zen :)
Bruce Mowbray: Mmmmm.. Tea for me!
Zen Arado: tea is good too
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Zen Arado: I drink very little alcohol
Zen Arado: a can of beer or small glass of wine
    Zen Arado: with a meal
    Alfred Kelberry: beer tastes bitter
    Alfred Kelberry: same for coffee
Zen Arado: you get a taste for it
Bruce Mowbray: What to doggies prefer, Boxy?
Sunshine Vayandar: I like Amarula ...
Alfred Kelberry: but tea tastes in various herbal tones - lovely :)
    Sunshine Vayandar: it's like irish cream ( I think it's called )
    Zen Arado: Irish coffee?
Alfred Kelberry: bruce, a nice juicy bone, i'd say :)
Sunshine Vayandar: no not irish coffee
Zen Arado: coffee with whiskey and cream
Bruce Mowbray wishes he were in Ireland, like Zen, so he could get Guiness beer more easily.
Sunshine Vayandar: hmm probably that is also very nice
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Storm!
    Zen Arado: Hi Storm :)
Sunshine Vayandar: Amarula is made from the fruit of the Marula tree
    Alfred Kelberry: easily?
    Sunshine Vayandar: hi Storm ;)
    Alfred Kelberry: stormy :)
    Storm Nordwind: Hi there!
    Bruce Mowbray: Marula?
    Alfred Kelberry: we discuss beverages
Sunshine Vayandar: yes it's one of the trees of the Savanna
Sunshine Vayandar: and when the fruits are ripe
    Bruce Mowbray: ahhhh!
Sunshine Vayandar: they fall down ... and the place becomes like a pub
Sunshine Vayandar: ;) the animals get drunk chewing the over ripe fruits
Storm Nordwind would like a mango lassi right now :)
Alfred Kelberry: sun, from your place rooibos tea is yummy :)
Zen Arado: I was reading a book today and the guy is saying how he has taken various psychedelic drugs to heighten his spiritual awareness at times
    Bruce Mowbray: Happy happy animals.
Sunshine Vayandar: yes rooibos is great
Zen Arado: bit dubious about that
    Alfred Kelberry: zen :)
Bruce Mowbray listens for more from Zen.
    Sunshine Vayandar: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5E5TjkDvU0
Storm Nordwind cannot speak from experience
    Zen Arado: that's it
Zen Arado: I have never tried anything like that
Alfred Kelberry: everyone has his own path
Bruce Mowbray: One of the men in my Quaker Meeting was a deep hardened atheist until he tried LSD -- and then he believed in God. . .
    Alfred Kelberry: haha
Bruce Mowbray: and I feel that his testimony is actually very convincing.
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Zen Arado: apparently humankind has always experimented with these substances from plants
    Sunshine Vayandar: interesting
    Bruce Mowbray: really!
Zen Arado: shamans and the like
Alfred Kelberry: so, lsd is a christian conspiracy :)
    Sunshine Vayandar: lol
Bruce Mowbray: He says that he had always lived in three dimensions --
Bruce Mowbray: but after trying LSD, God appeared to him as a fourth dimension..
Bruce Mowbray: and intersected his life in a way he'd never experienced before.
    Alfred Kelberry: neat
Sunshine Vayandar: watch that video - it will explain all about marula - as a drug ;) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D5E5TjkDvU0 )
Bruce Mowbray: OK -- thanks, Sun.
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
    Zen Arado: yeh
Alfred Kelberry: did god talk to him?
Bruce Mowbray: So, I say, appreciate EVERYTHING -- including the Maruda.
Bruce Mowbray: No, God did not talk to him.
Bruce Mowbray: It was only that he "saw" that there was a fourth dimension. . .
    Alfred Kelberry: ah, pitty
Bruce Mowbray: I think much of it was his interpretation, actually.
Alfred Kelberry: i'd ask a few questions
    Bruce Mowbray: (stories," you know.
Bruce Mowbray: All I know is that it completely turned his life around -- for the better, in my humble opinion.
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    Alfred Kelberry: good for him
Bruce Mowbray: Folks, time for me to put down the tea and scrape up some supper.
    Alfred Kelberry: nom
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I also say good for him. Not my trip, but that's not important./
    Alfred Kelberry: eat well, bruce
Storm Nordwind: William James describes a man who got the experience from laughing-gas; whenever he was under its influence, he knew the secret of the universe, but when he came to, he had forgotten it. At last, with immense effort, he wrote down the secret before the vision had faded. When completely recovered, he rushed to see what he had written. It was

"A smell of petroleum prevails throughout."

Sunshine Vayandar: take care Bruce bon appetit
    Zen Arado: bye Bruce
Bruce Mowbray: So, I shall say, May you all have a happy and safe weekend.
    Zen Arado: ha ha yes
Sunshine Vayandar: Alfy and Storm I wanted to ask something
Sunshine Vayandar: about the prim workshop
Zen Arado: remember Paul Mc Cartney saying something similar
    Alfred Kelberry: yes?

Tree removal in the service of enterprise
Sunshine Vayandar: the area for the workshop has a big tree with transparent prims
Sunshine Vayandar: and when we rezzed prims with Eden yesterday
Sunshine Vayandar: it was difficult to work with it
    Alfred Kelberry: ah
Sunshine Vayandar: because of the tree
Storm Nordwind: Difficult but realistic and good practice for building in tight places :)
    Sunshine Vayandar: hmm ;)
    Sunshine Vayandar: but but ...
Alfred Kelberry: only storm can remove it :)
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;)
Alfred Kelberry: i don't know the right spell :)
    Sunshine Vayandar: hehe
Storm Nordwind: I specifically asked Boxy beforehand and he said keep it
    --BELL--
Sunshine Vayandar: kk just mentioning ;)
Alfred Kelberry: yes, it didn't bother me
Storm Nordwind: The problem is it's large and provides foliage for Bruce and Aphrodite
Alfred Kelberry: but if folks complaining...
Sunshine Vayandar: I am just thinking of the beginners that are already so mixed up with all the things when building
Sunshine Vayandar: we had fun yesterday actually ;)
Storm Nordwind: Sure. If Bruce and Aphrodite don't mind, I'll remove it. No problem for me. But it's their ambiance.
Sunshine Vayandar: true and I love trees - actually I was thinking - I'd like to put a bigger tree in the middle - in the courtyard
Storm Nordwind: Again - involve the other two about that. :)
Zen Arado: I put a lot of building textures on trees in my time
Sunshine Vayandar: ah yes - it's not so important I was just thinking about it
Storm Nordwind: It's a local decision and I can help achieve what you guys collectively decide you want
Zen Arado: the transparent bits of the photo fool you
Sunshine Vayandar: yes I might ask them and get back to you
Zen Arado: bigger than you think
    Sunshine Vayandar: yes
Sunshine Vayandar: hmm gotta go - ty for the chat ;)
Sunshine Vayandar: dont drink too much Zen-san
    Sunshine Vayandar: ;p
Storm Nordwind: Beer is food :)
    Zen Arado: :)
    Sunshine Vayandar: safe journey Alf
    Zen Arado: bye Sun :)
    Storm Nordwind waves
Sunshine Vayandar: byebyee all have a great weekend
Storm Nordwind will climb back on his flying toast and inspect the far corner for trees! ;)
    Storm Nordwind: Coming Alfred?
    Zen Arado: bye Storm
    Storm Nordwind: Bye Zen
    Zen Arado: bye Alf
    Alfred Kelberry: hi :)
    Alfred Kelberry: whoa!
Alfred Kelberry: a flying toast?! :)
    Storm Nordwind chuckles
    Alfred Kelberry: haha
