The Guardian for this meeting was Adams Rubble. The comments are by Adams Rubble.

We have Walter Brennan and Dash to thank for the title. This was a discussion in which conversations ebbed and flowed in a pleasant way which will not be evident reading the log, fo course. Also the pavilion began to fill up as the session went on from Yaku (here first) to Yak and me, and then Wol, Yak and me, and so on.

    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey adams
    Adams Rubble: Hello Yak :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: you look amazing today :)
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: How are you Yak?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey wol
    Adams Rubble: Hello Wol :)
    Wol Euler: hello adams, yaku
Yakuzza Lethecus: pretty well, i have enough coffee, the weather is nice and i feel quiet comfortable :)
    Adams Rubble: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: could have done more sports tho :)
Adams Rubble: The doctors seem to like that
Yakuzza Lethecus: well i´ve eaten an apple
    Yakuzza Lethecus: lol
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Wol Euler: :)
Adams Rubble: The doctor has me taking walks during the day at work
Adams Rubble: I think most days I actually get mre done when I do
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Adams Rubble: some days though I get back to my desk and would rather nap
Yakuzza Lethecus: that´s good if it´s possible to do so at work
    Adams Rubble: Hello Susan :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: do you still persue walkingmediation at work sometimes wol ?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hello susan
Wol Euler: very seldom, but yes
Wol Euler: when waiting for plots, in the basement
    Wol Euler: hello susan
iwandertoo Resident: waves to all ::)
Wol Euler: it's rather the case when I am at work, that people come up and ask what's wrong if I stop typing or mouseclicking for 9 seconds
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Adams Rubble: slave dribers!
    Adams Rubble: drivers
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Wol Euler: yeo
    Wol Euler: *yes
Wol Euler: dribers too actually, I feel quite drub at the end of the day
Adams Rubble: I am fortunate that no one is looking over my shoulder
Adams Rubble: I am my own slave driver
    Wol Euler: heheh
    Wol Euler: fairly common, actually
Wol Euler: the internal whip works just as well as the one the boss holds
    iwandertoo Resident: moreso
    Adams Rubble: often more effective
Adams Rubble: the none second stops actually help focus on why something is being done
Adams Rubble: see the larger picture
    Wol Euler nods.
Adams Rubble: I have had people in my office when the bell went off and no one seems curious enough to ask although the jump a bit :)
    Adams Rubble: they jump
    Wol Euler: :)
Adams Rubble: probably figure I am cooking
Adams Rubble: I am having trouble remembering to go to the pub at off hours
Adams Rubble: I have only made it twice
Adams Rubble: I see people going offline and realize I have missed it again
Wol Euler: I#ve only been around twice, and the last time (just now) was busy elsewhere
Wol Euler: it's a lovely place, and a shame that I don'T use it more
Adams Rubble: It gives me an inferiority complex about my building skills
    Adams Rubble: hehe
    Wol Euler: well :)
Wol Euler: storm is very talented
    Adams Rubble: yes
Adams Rubble: Have you been to the PaB pub Susan?
    iwandertoo Resident: yes, many times
Adams Rubble: Pema is there this week at 10 and 7
    Adams Rubble: am and pm
Adams Rubble: not getting much sleep
    Wol Euler: yeah
Yakuzza Lethecus: actually a thought and concern i often have is about the feelings of inferiority and stopping
Wol Euler: he was there at 4am too
    Wol Euler: oops
    Adams Rubble listens
Yakuzza Lethecus: how to start with new things in ,,a right way" for examle
Yakuzza Lethecus: i tend to do things to the point on which ,,they work"
Yakuzza Lethecus: which becomes most problematic as soon as there come more complicatioins
Yakuzza Lethecus: so i am not a perfectionist
Yakuzza Lethecus: but as soon as things get to become interdependent the lack of stucture i follow becomes a main issue
Yakuzza Lethecus: like when i was back at school i never commented code i wrote in like visual basic or c
Adams Rubble: Sometimes I like to remind myself I have done my best that I can do right now
Adams Rubble: Next time maybe it will be better :)
iwandertoo Resident: this never seems good enough...but that is very healthy
Adams Rubble: It is harder to keep going when complications increase :)
    Wol Euler nods.
Adams Rubble: Hard to start when they are there at the beginnning
Adams Rubble: I have one of those kind of jobs waiting for me. hehe
Adams Rubble: I keep putting it off
    Adams Rubble: Hello Bruce :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey bruce
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
    Wol Euler: hello bruce
Adams Rubble: you mentioned stopping too Yaku
Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Susan, Yaku, Wol, and Adams!
    Yakuzza Lethecus: morning dash
    Adams Rubble: Hello Dash :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Hi again, Dash.
    Wol Euler: hello dash
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
Bruce Mowbray: I hope Dash will not mind my saying that we've both just come from a morning meditation at Soul's Journey.
Adams Rubble: what is Soul's Journey?
Bruce Mowbray: 20 minutes every morning (7 a.m. slt).
    Dash Earthboy: no brag...just fact
Bruce Mowbray: SJ is a small meditation circle. . . that has been going for years -- and is connected with Peacemaker Institute.
    Wol Euler: nice
    Yakuzza Lethecus: good morning fox
    Fox Monacular: hello everyone
    Bruce Mowbray: yes, thanks Dash -- merely a fact . . . ;-)
    Bruce Mowbray: Good day, Fox.
    Wol Euler: hello fox
Adams Rubble: Hello Fox . nice to see you again :)
Fox Monacular: good to be here:)
    Dash Earthboy: hey Fox
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
Adams Rubble: no one here considers someone braggling when they talk about their meditation :)
    Wol Euler chuckles.
Dash Earthboy: that was just a signature line from "The Guns of Will Sonnet" :)
Bruce Mowbray: If you could get into my Mind, I'm sure you'd agree there is little to brag about there.
Adams Rubble would have trouble finding the way OUT of mone :)
Bruce Mowbray: mostly a zoo full of strange monkies.
    Adams Rubble: mine
Dash Earthboy: Walter Bennan's character, the father, said it
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Wol Euler smiles.
Bruce Mowbray: (mine, not Adams') --- ;-)
    Dash Earthboy: *Brennan
Wol Euler: good old Walter Brennan
    Adams Rubble: Hello Xirana :)
Wol Euler: a much underrated actor, I always thought
    Adams Rubble: ditto Wol
Bruce Mowbray: Yeah -- I remember Walter Brennan well. . .
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey xirana
    Bruce Mowbray: Good day, Xir!
    Dash Earthboy: hi xirana
    Wol Euler: hello xirana
    Xirana Oximoxi: hi Wol:)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi everyone :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: morning ssl
Fox Monacular: Hi Xiran and SophiaSharon
    Wol Euler: hello sharon
    Dash Earthboy: hey Sophia
    Adams Rubble: Hello Sharon :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: sorry, didnt see the mist yet
Bruce Mowbray: "strange monkies" = weird little monks (not monkeys, although possibly monkeys also).
iwandertoo Resident: waves to Xirana, SophiaSharon
    Bruce Mowbray: Hey, Sharon.
Xirana Oximoxi: hi Fox, Dash Sophia, Susan.. I think I haven forgotten anyone now :)
    Dash Earthboy: :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)
Adams Rubble: It is fun to watch the circle fill up :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: yes! it's nice:)
Wol Euler: heh, I assumed monkeys as in "monkey mind". Glad you clarified that
Dash Earthboy: and go 'round and 'round and 'round
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Bruce Mowbray: little monks and also monkeys -- both.
Bruce Mowbray: and more than that, too.
Adams Rubble: Musa sapientum fixa ubi sit?
Wol Euler: e no voglio più servie
    Wol Euler: *servir
Dash Earthboy: it's all Greek to me...or is that latin? :)
    Adams Rubble: Church Latin Wol?
Wol Euler: heheheh, no, from Don Giovanni
    Adams Rubble: :)
Wol Euler: Leporello's lament at the beginning
    Wol Euler: what was yours?
    Wol Euler: hello again, obs
    Adams Rubble: Heelo observerm :)
Adams Rubble: Latin for where is my banana?
SophiaSharon Larnia: my goolge translator didnt recognize it :)
    Wol Euler: ?
    Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble wasn;t all that great a Latin student in high school
Bruce Mowbray: Our high school Latin teacher had us singing familiar songs in Latin -- like "I'm Popeye the Sailor Man" and "Row row row your boat..."
SophiaSharon Larnia: I took it too Adams, and didnt recognize one word lol
Bruce Mowbray: Those ditties still swim in my memory.
    Wol Euler laughs.
    Adams Rubble: :)
    Adams Rubble: They worked :)
Bruce Mowbray: amazing how that helps one learn vocabulary.
    Wol Euler grins and nods
    Wol Euler: make it relevant.
Wol Euler: kids are happy to learn stuff that seems relevant
Wol Euler: they are glad to spend thousands of hours falling off a skateboard, for example
Dash Earthboy: guess that's why my second grade teacher had us learn every english phrase in Spanish as well
    SophiaSharon Larnia: or fun :)
Bruce Mowbray: seems that the memory loves songs.
Adams Rubble: Hard to make Cicero relevant to kids
Wol Euler: compared to the struggle to practice piano for an hour a day
Wol Euler: or fun, yes :)
Bruce Mowbray: Omnia gallia in tres partes divisa est.
Adams Rubble: That phrase seems to stick for some reason
Wol Euler: probably because of its frequent echo in Asterix and Obelix :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: :)
Bruce Mowbray: When in grad school (circa 1968) I dated a French major who thought two things ought always to be done in French -- drinking fine wine and making love..
Bruce Mowbray: So I learned a lot of French drinking songs. . .
    Adams Rubble: wb Xirana :)
    Bruce Mowbray: wb Xir!
    Wol Euler: wb xirana
    Yakuzza Lethecus: wb xirana
    SophiaSharon Larnia: lol Bruce :)
Xirana Oximoxi: ty:) stormy weather here
    SophiaSharon Larnia: wb xirana
    Adams Rubble: :) Bruce
    iwandertoo Resident: wb
    Adams Rubble: Hello Riddle :)
    Riddle Sideways: Hi EveryBody
    Bruce Mowbray: Yo, Riddle!
    Xirana Oximoxi: hi Riddle:)
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
    Dash Earthboy: hi Riddle
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Riddle
    Wol Euler: hello riddle
    Wol Euler: no more bee-ing?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey riddle
    Riddle Sideways: not Bee-ing today
Riddle Sideways: seem to have stopped any topic/chat
Adams Rubble: we have been stopping and starting this morning Riddle
Dash Earthboy: i'm listening to a reprise of last night's A Prairie Home Companion :)...never wanting for something to occupy my attention :)
Adams Rubble: nice to see you
    Bruce Mowbray loves Garrison Keilor.
    Wol Euler nods.
    Wol Euler: and smiles
Adams Rubble: a good story teller
Dash Earthboy: they're in NYC again
Riddle Sideways loves Garrison, PHC, and now poetry corner
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, he says he goes to New York for the peace and quiet.
    Wol Euler: heheheh
    Bruce Mowbray: http://prairiehome.publicradio.org/
Dash Earthboy: those MN farmers must not use mules :))
Riddle Sideways: for about 10 years I taped (remember cassettes) PHC and sent to my father, who could not get it
    Wol Euler nods.
Dash Earthboy: i did that too Riddle till this year
    Wol Euler: not get it?
    Bruce Mowbray smiles and listens.
Xirana Oximoxi: ahh so it's a radio program:))
    Adams Rubble: Yes Xirana
    Riddle Sideways: yeah, remember radio?
Wol Euler: oh yes, it's a radio program *about* radio programs as they used to be
    Adams Rubble: on Public Radio
    Wol Euler: live radio
    Adams Rubble: every Saturday night
Bruce Mowbray: One can actually listen to it through the internet now.
Xirana Oximoxi: ty:).. it's not known at the other side:))
Xirana Oximoxi: at least until now..for me:)
Adams Rubble: All of the back shows are available on the internet
Dash Earthboy: they made a movie about it Xirana
Wol Euler: there was a film made about it
Xirana Oximoxi: good tool 'internet' :))
    Wol Euler: snap
Wol Euler: that would be a veyr good introduction to it for you
    Adams Rubble: Lake Wobogon
Riddle Sideways: good movie, with the real people behind it
    Dash Earthboy: *Wobegon
    Adams Rubble: thanks Dash
Xirana Oximoxi: I'll have a look at the link Bruce has given us..later:) sounds fun and interesting:)
Riddle Sideways thinks that my hometown was Lake Wobegon
Riddle Sideways: some of the names are not changed
    Wol Euler smiles.
Wol Euler: most north americans of our age grew up there, or at least had close relatives there
    Dash Earthboy: :)
    Adams Rubble nods to relatives
Riddle Sideways: might be really hard to explain Minnisotian to worldly people
    Wol Euler chuckles.
Bruce Mowbray grew up in northern Iowa -- with lots of Lutherans, at the same time as Garrison Keillor did. . . So I can relate well to his Wobegone stories.
    Dash Earthboy: Norwegian bachelor farmers
Adams Rubble: Keeler is very perceptive about human frailities and is a gentle person
Dash Earthboy: powdermilk biscuits in the bags with the brown stains
Riddle Sideways: biscuitss that give shy people the strength to get up and get what needs to be done
    Dash Earthboy: agreed Adam
    Adams Rubble: and English majors
    Wol Euler smiles.
Riddle Sideways: few months ago went to a simlucast of PHC
Riddle Sideways: and the half hour before was
Dash Earthboy: in Chicago a group of us fans used to get together every Saturday for supper with APHC
Riddle Sideways: a walk with garrison around the twin cities
    Wol Euler: oh wow
    Adams Rubble: :)
Bruce Mowbray: A skeleton walks into a bar and says:"Bring me a beer and a mop."
    Wol Euler laughs.
Dash Earthboy: wow Riddle that sounds great!
Bruce Mowbray: from the web page of APHC
Adams Rubble: and here we are at the pavilion where all the guardians are above average
Bruce Mowbray: and all the men are good looking.
