The Guardian for this meeting was Xirana Oximoxi. The comments are by Xirana Oximoxi.

    Archmage Atlantis: Hi, Xirana
Archmage Atlantis: There is another gathering that conflicts with this one
Xirana Oximoxi: really? 'gathering' means another activity?
Archmage Atlantis: I wish to go.....for me, it means another group of ppl who have things I think are worth listening to
Xirana Oximoxi: do you want me to stay and try to do the log of my lonely chat later? :))
Archmage Atlantis: Oh, how difficult that is to ask.......My Wed sessions are just me most of the time *g*
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
Xirana Oximoxi: ok..you can go if you want I think I will be able to do it:)
Xirana Oximoxi: plus, my problems with receiving and reading the chat are solved now:)
Archmage Atlantis: Ok.....my mother said gentlemen were to walk on the sidwalk side to protect the ladies clothing
Archmage Atlantis: So, I'm sorta well trained
    Archmage Atlantis: Adios
Xirana Oximoxi: bye have a nice time:)
Bertram Jacobus: hi xirana and arch ! :-)
    Xirana Oximoxi: hello Bertram:)
Bertram Jacobus: and bye arch ...
Xirana Oximoxi: Arch wanted to go to another activity he was interested in:)
Xirana Oximoxi: I've claimed the session..do you want to take care of it Bertram? sure you'll do better:)
    Bertram Jacobus: oh. i see.
Xirana Oximoxi: but that way I also can learn how to do it:)
Bertram Jacobus: noo - it´s wonderful ! when you would do "the job" - it would be wonderful ! but sorry : sometimes my english is not well enough to talk and understand all totally precise ... :-/
Bertram Jacobus: yes ! and i would love to help you, if there problems came up with it ... :-)
Xirana Oximoxi: oh! I didn't know!! I also have sometimes problems with my English
Xirana Oximoxi: where are you from, if I may ask...your English seems perfect:))
    Xirana Oximoxi: hi Susan:) welcome:)
    Bertram Jacobus: hello susan
    iwandertoo Resident: hi
Bertram Jacobus: i´m from germany and my english is really not perfect at all (!) - but thank you, really kind xirana - where are you from ? :-)
Xirana Oximoxi: I'm doing my first time taking care of the session Susan:))
    iwandertoo Resident: :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: I'm from Spain:)
Bertram Jacobus: susan - have you been here before or is it your first visit ?
iwandertoo Resident: i have been here Bertram
Xirana Oximoxi: she is the newest Guardian Bertram! after me:)
Bertram Jacobus: sorry - i was not much here the last weeks ... :-)
    iwandertoo Resident: no worries
Xirana Oximoxi: the group increases what is nice:)
Bertram Jacobus: whaow - i´m really out of some pab business i must notice ... *blush a bit* ... ;-)
Bertram Jacobus: yes ! and it continues ! i think i appreciate that point even more ... :-)
Xirana Oximoxi: well..I still have problems to recognise all the people... specially because SL allows to change names..it makes a little confusion when reading the chats
Xirana Oximoxi: but slowly I remember the countries and names:)
Xirana Oximoxi: I find wonderful this possibility to share our time with people from all the world:)
    Xirana Oximoxi: wow sorry:)
Bertram Jacobus: yes ! me too : i love when there are only permanent names ...
    iwandertoo Resident: it is wonderful...
Bertram Jacobus: hehe. and : np : we all miss the pause now and then ... ;-)+
Xirana Oximoxi: where are you from Susan... or, is it morning or aftenoon for you now?
Xirana Oximoxi: yes! but what a guardian!!! :))
    iwandertoo Resident: morning...california
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
Xirana Oximoxi: have you seen the exhibition at the Museum? about the missions in California? it's really well done and interesting
Xirana Oximoxi: I mean the Sacred Museum here in PaB
    iwandertoo Resident: i havent
iwandertoo Resident: i actually havent been to a mission in california....
Xirana Oximoxi: maybe you see a place where you live near:)
Bertram Jacobus: missions in california !? i´m not sure ... i saw some in california, not only few years ago ...
iwandertoo Resident: there is one just 4 miles from where i live
Xirana Oximoxi: you see?? so sure you'll recognise it:)
    iwandertoo Resident: yes, i may
Bertram Jacobus: my memory sometimes is terrible, sadly, but yes : may be i have seen them here already and yes : then i had recognised them, too (!) ... :o)
Bertram Jacobus mumbles : i saw them somewhere, pictures, should have been here, around ... yes ... ;-)
Xirana Oximoxi: I've had a big discussion with a friend about Monterrey Bahia... he told it was in Mexico... and I told him it was also in California... at the end I was right:)
iwandertoo Resident: why do the missions interest you?
Xirana Oximoxi: there are the two I mean... so we both were right:)
    iwandertoo Resident: :)
Xirana Oximoxi: well, not specially, but I've seen a reportage about Spanish first explorers setting a mission in your land.. and by chance, there were the exhibition also here:)
    Xirana Oximoxi: I like history:)
    iwandertoo Resident: :)
Bertram Jacobus: i found those places ... quite peaceful ...
Bertram Jacobus: hey boxy ! :-)
    iwandertoo Resident: how so, Bertram?
    Alfred Kelberry: wuff!
Xirana Oximoxi: I think knowing History helps to understand countries , similitudes and also differences
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
    Alfred Kelberry: hi :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: hi Boxy!!!
Xirana Oximoxi: Are you a newcomer;)
    Xirana Oximoxi: Joking!!! :)
    iwandertoo Resident: hehe
Alfred Kelberry: yes, xir, history may be quite peculiar :)
Bertram Jacobus: may be because we visited them in winter, around midday, it was very calm and like lost a bit - nice surrounding susan ...
    Alfred Kelberry: visited what?
iwandertoo Resident: yes, i think most of them have this quality.
    Bertram Jacobus: missions in california
Xirana Oximoxi: probably because of the winter... California have a lot of beaches and at least in Spain, in summer, they are crowded
iwandertoo Resident: when you watch others...there are people who clearly know the history and are very intense in their manner
Bertram Jacobus: i loved those empty places ! ...
Alfred Kelberry: ah, cali - nice
    iwandertoo Resident: :)
Xirana Oximoxi: do a lot of people speak Spanish in California, Susan?
Alfred Kelberry: xir, can you dance flamenco? :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: yes! moment:))

(I have an animation of flamenco dance and I have showed it)
    Alfred Kelberry: haha
iwandertoo Resident: yes...more people speak spanish than english i understand
Alfred Kelberry: que pasa amigo? :)
iwandertoo Resident: but in general one hears english most of the time
iwandertoo Resident: in ten years in will be cantospanglish
    iwandertoo Resident: or some timeline....
Xirana Oximoxi: I should wear another dress:))
Bertram Jacobus: hehe. should have some sound ! :-)
    iwandertoo Resident: :)
    Alfred Kelberry: xir :)
    Alfred Kelberry: wee!
    Alfred Kelberry: thank you :)
    Xirana Oximoxi: :))
    Alfred Kelberry: very elegant :)
Xirana Oximoxi: in rl I can't dance flamenco:)
    Xirana Oximoxi: wow sorry again:)
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Xirana Oximoxi: flamenco is more tipical from the south of Spain..and I live in the north
    iwandertoo Resident: love to dance
iwandertoo Resident: one thing i wish SL had move of
Xirana Oximoxi: we dance 'sardana' a dance that has nothing similar to flamenco
iwandertoo Resident: is solo dance balls
iwandertoo Resident: do you have that animation, xi?
Xirana Oximoxi: no, what's 'solo dance balls'?
Bertram Jacobus: there are so many dances - so why solo dance balls ? ;-)
iwandertoo Resident: there are many couples dances when you wander around, but rarely one for just a single person
iwandertoo Resident: i like to be alone...
    iwandertoo Resident: and dance....
Xirana Oximoxi: sometimes I go to life music concerts in SL and there are balls to dance alone..is that what you mean, Susan?
iwandertoo Resident: i like to dance with others as well
Bertram Jacobus: but you can have an uncountable number of dances and dance them anywhere !
iwandertoo Resident: i like to wander alone...
iwandertoo Resident: the clubs do have solo dancing - and i enjoy those a great deal
iwandertoo Resident: (i havent bought the dances yet, Bertram. i did spend an afternoon in an animation store)
Xirana Oximoxi: ah! I also go to dance time to time... but most of the times I find men that need some 'help' (euphemism) :)) but I've also found nice ones that wanted conversation
    iwandertoo Resident: ...
Xirana Oximoxi: I like this side of SL because you know the people who is here more directly, situation, fantasies, problems and so on
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
Bertram Jacobus: there are also some free dances to find, but the ones one has to pay for, often are more elaborated and new ... ;-)
    iwandertoo Resident: :)
Bertram Jacobus: yes, i agree : a very direct form to meet people
    iwandertoo Resident: uncomfortable...
    iwandertoo Resident: often times
iwandertoo Resident: but at least one meets others
Bertram Jacobus: yes. and you can click everything away with only one click
Xirana Oximoxi: yes! sometimes it can be 'uncomfortable'... but I've learned to take every situation with good sense of humour
Bertram Jacobus: i try to follow the buddhist teachings which a teacher once put into only four words - it´s perfect to me as orientation : "always help, never harm"
Xirana Oximoxi: and as Bertram say, you can left or mute or click away someone (I've never done:)
iwandertoo Resident: i've not either, Xi
Xirana Oximoxi: nice... but it can always happen, :)
iwandertoo Resident: i just wonder...want to understand...but there is probably nothing to understand. best to just let it be.
Xirana Oximoxi: I've found a vampire, a policeman that wanted to reform bad girls... and mostly others nice and normal, wanting to chat
    Xirana Oximoxi: :))
    iwandertoo Resident: that's wonderful, Xirana
Xirana Oximoxi: I see it as a way to know different kind of people... and it's a way to meet that probably I never will in RL
    iwandertoo Resident: yes
Bertram Jacobus: sl is rl as well to me ...
Xirana Oximoxi: of course.. also some strange fantasies. I don't share and not easy to understand
Alfred Kelberry: those who come to sl by definition are more open minded people on average :)
Bertram Jacobus: a part of the so called "rl"
iwandertoo Resident: i think most are open minded, boxy...it's just safe here behind the screen
Bertram Jacobus: and you have to be prepared for everything to meet here ;-)
    iwandertoo Resident: nods
Bertram Jacobus: but that is true for the whole net, not only sl
iwandertoo Resident: when one speaks with another one-to-one there is often a depth there that would not be seen in a group
Xirana Oximoxi: I agree...talking in a group is different
iwandertoo Resident: do you find this as well, boxy?
Alfred Kelberry: susan, a "normal" person is less likely to go explore some virtual world games
    iwandertoo Resident: why so?
Alfred Kelberry: it takes some openness to come here and even more so to stay :)
Alfred Kelberry: cause majority of people see sl as a game and waste of time
iwandertoo Resident: living according to their values...not a bad thing
iwandertoo Resident: but does this make them less open minded?
    Alfred Kelberry: not necessarily
Xirana Oximoxi: I can't see it as just a game, because what interest me are the people behind avatars...
Xirana Oximoxi: and probably there are also people here that's not open minded
iwandertoo Resident: a long while back i used to attend to a salon...most lved the in person interaction. i sat quietly. spoke now and again. but i most probably seemed very distant and aloof. i was listening - processing...but still my engagement was limited.
Xirana Oximoxi: I used to read the blogs of comunity, and there have been some big discussions there that showed people not respecting others choices or fantasies
iwandertoo Resident: agree, Xirana...the voices, thoughts, dreams, etc
Alfred Kelberry: in a "noble" society it's bad karma to mention "sl" or "virtual worlds" :)
    iwandertoo Resident: it is?
iwandertoo Resident: what is meant by "noble", boxy?
Alfred Kelberry: well, like your co-workers
iwandertoo Resident: sorry...not sure i'm following
Xirana Oximoxi: boxy, I understand what you mean (I think) but I've been incredible surprised by the amount of educated, noble and well prepared people that also 'play' in sl:)
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Bertram Jacobus: it´s a new element in our society : the net, very important, many connections happen here now
Bertram Jacobus: i will leave for now - ty for the great conversation and company ! *wave* ...
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
Xirana Oximoxi: I've bought the book that Bleu one day recomended: Infinite reality by Blascovich, I would like to understant new worlds and relations that are growing with internet
    iwandertoo Resident: how is it?
    Xirana Oximoxi: bye Bertram
Xirana Oximoxi: I haven't received it yet..Amazon takes his time:)) and in Spain it's not possible to find
    iwandertoo Resident: ah
Xirana Oximoxi: but sure, when I read it I will like to bring topics here to discuss:)
    iwandertoo Resident: :)
iwandertoo Resident: are there book clubs in SL? (dumb question)
Xirana Oximoxi: yes! there are a group named 'Bookstacks'... where poets and writers meet:)
iwandertoo Resident: i would like to find a group with common reading interests...
Xirana Oximoxi: they do a lot of activities too.. I have no time to go, so I have to chose .. and at the moment PaB is wonderful:)
    iwandertoo Resident: :)
Xirana Oximoxi: Where book lovers meet.. Book discussions, author readings, open mic poetry, and other bookish pleasures take place as announced.
Xirana Oximoxi: that's what say the profile of the group...
iwandertoo Resident: there is a cognitive science discussion group in the bay area that is really good...but cant make the meetings
iwandertoo Resident: thank you - will check it out
Xirana Oximoxi: you can see it in my list of groups, you can join and see if it's what you would like
Xirana Oximoxi: ah! this group is more literatur
    Xirana Oximoxi: not science
    Xirana Oximoxi: :)
iwandertoo Resident: that's okay...might be good for me :)
    Alfred Kelberry: wee!
Xirana Oximoxi: boxy!! before we go... I've claimed the session, so now, I'm supposed to receive it in my email?... and then I have to publish it in the wiki? is that so?
    iwandertoo Resident: haha....go boxy
    Xirana Oximoxi: lol
    Alfred Kelberry: um...
Alfred Kelberry: i think so, xir
iwandertoo Resident: xirana, i think there is tutorial on the pab wiki site
Xirana Oximoxi: ok..I hope I do it well:)
Alfred Kelberry: i'm sure you will :)
    iwandertoo Resident: you will
    iwandertoo Resident: (well done already)
Alfred Kelberry: there's no way to fail it :)
Xirana Oximoxi: well I will see the email Eliza send me with instructions..if not, I will ask for help:)
Alfred Kelberry: yes, if you need anything, send a question to the pab group
Xirana Oximoxi: I must go now..I wish you a nice day and thanks for this nice time!! :)
    Alfred Kelberry: thanks :)
Xirana Oximoxi: bye Boxy and Susan:)
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
Alfred Kelberry: ok, guess i'm off as well
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
    Alfred Kelberry: wuff!
    Alfred Kelberry: bye :)
iwandertoo Resident: you have interesting groups in your profile boxy
    Alfred Kelberry: thanks :)
    iwandertoo Resident: :)
