Paradise Tennant: nice to add mystery to the everyday
    Paradise Tennant: sorry bell
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
Machete Cardalines: thank you bell ^^
    Lucinda Lavender: love chipotle's smokiness
Machete Cardalines: oh yeah, me too, I gotta admit that Chipotle is my favorite hot pepper by far
Paradise Tennant: smiles hiya machete :)
    Machete Cardalines: hiya Paradise :)
Machete Cardalines: sometimes spicy food works way better than caffeine at waking me up in the morning :)
stevenaia Michinaga: don’t think I ever had Chiplote sauce, but seems to be all the rage
Paradise Tennant: smiles .. taste is such a nice part of life
Machete Cardalines: it is good, but I just don't like it when chipotle is mixed with sweet things, like mango, just not used to it
Machete Cardalines: oh yeah it is Paradise :)
Lucinda Lavender: my husband cooked the canned ones with some tomato onion garlic etc
Paradise Tennant: a connection that is straight to the brain
    Machete Cardalines: like smell too
    stevenaia Michinaga: taste
Lucinda Lavender: we made homemade chile rellenos this week
    Machete Cardalines: yumm! xD
Lucinda Lavender: with a real mexican cheese
Lucinda Lavender: new for us also
Machete Cardalines: Mexican cheese is the best...but of course I'm biased being from there xD
Lucinda Lavender: with lots of eggs from the chickens we explore with them you might say
    Lucinda Lavender: nice Machete
Paradise Tennant: how is your chicken doing Lucinda :)
Lucinda Lavender: so do you like to cook too?
    Lucinda Lavender: ok enough...
Lucinda Lavender: the chicken seems not to be laying
    Machete Cardalines: awww
Paradise Tennant: but she is comfortable ?
Lucinda Lavender: but it is comfortable yes
Paradise Tennant: maybe after all the discomfort she thinks laying is lame
    Lucinda Lavender: nodding:)
Lucinda Lavender: and then too she is young
Lucinda Lavender: just lagging a bit behind the other pullet
Lucinda Lavender: wonder if she has trouble making the shell
    Paradise Tennant: pullet rivalry :)
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
Lucinda Lavender: Machete have you ever had chickens?
Paradise Tennant: have this vivid image of you blow drying her feathers :)
Machete Cardalines: no never, are they good pets?
Machete Cardalines: I'm a total city slicker xD
Lucinda Lavender: it was really true...after the bath...hair dryer. pretty good pets yes
Machete Cardalines: it would be nice to have chickens, maybe someday when I'm not living in a tiny apartment in the middle of a big city :)
stevenaia Michinaga: how often do you bathe them?
Paradise Tennant: thinks the little chicken  might be ready to book a weekly appt may even ask you for clawicure? :)
Machete Cardalines: can you tell when chickens are in a bad mood?
Lucinda Lavender: well only once did I try the bath because of her being egg bound
Paradise Tennant: smiles you are good mom :)
Lucinda Lavender: they cackle with an alarming noise
Lucinda Lavender: it was not unpleasant really
    Lucinda Lavender: the bathing
Lucinda Lavender: or they kind of hide if they are sick
Lucinda Lavender: so as not to show weakness
Machete Cardalines: that's kind of cute :)
Machete Cardalines: chickens not so different from us!
Paradise Tennant: smiles we are all the same :)
    Machete Cardalines: so true :)
Paradise Tennant: watched an little english bull terrier .. bounce a soccer ball on her head 8 times tonight
Paradise Tennant: flushed with triumph she ran a mad circle of glee ..it was her new record
Lucinda Lavender: quite a bit of awareness there
Machete Cardalines: awww, super cute! maybe a world record for an English bull terrier! :D
    --BELL--
Paradise Tennant: yes often find they are more aware of parts of life than we are ..they do not suffer from the same amount of mental chatter and clutter I think more in the moment
    Paradise Tennant: wise :)
Machete Cardalines: exatly, we do have so much mental clutter! it's hard to keep what's important distinguished form all the background noise
Machete Cardalines: at least in my head I find that happening often
    Machete Cardalines: hiya Susan :)
Paradise Tennant: hello susan :)) gtsy :)
iwandertoo Resident: waves (on mobile...txt only)
    iwandertoo Resident: :)
Paradise Tennant: hmm back to the 9 sec breaks
Paradise Tennant: ways to remember to be still
Paradise Tennant: do it will smell and colour quite a bit
Paradise Tennant: will really focus on a smell and let everything else drift away
Paradise Tennant: or wrap in a colour and kind of submerge in it
    Paradise Tennant: very restful
Machete Cardalines: I like that Paradise :) I gotta try it sometime, but since I got a cold in RL and am congested, maybe I'll try the color rather than the smell xD
    Paradise Tennant: smiles :)
Lucinda Lavender: some kinds of thoughts...seem much less helpful
Paradise Tennant: green is a good colour when you do not feel well
Machete Cardalines: green like trees and life :)
Paradise Tennant: yes .. really our thoughts are the makers our problems we are so attached to thinking and we really do not need to think so much
Paradise Tennant: waves to observerm :)
    Lucinda Lavender: Hi Susan:)
    Lucinda Lavender: Observer:)
    iwandertoo Resident: hi Luci
    iwandertoo Resident: :)
Machete Cardalines: so true Paradise :)
    Lucinda Lavender: erased that statement
Lucinda Lavender: I was thinking about worry
Lucinda Lavender: and the energy that gets tied up in that
Machete Cardalines: worry takes so much mental space sometimes, and worry is often times about things that don't end up happening anyway...yeah, sucks up so much energy
    stevenaia Michinaga: Hi susan
    Lucinda Lavender: mindfull ness
    iwandertoo Resident: waves :)
Lucinda Lavender: what does that word bring to mind
    Lucinda Lavender: ?
    iwandertoo Resident: non-contradiction
    Lucinda Lavender: hi strorm:)
    stevenaia Michinaga: hi Storm
Machete Cardalines: mindfulness, for me brings to mind, stopping for a minute, taking a deep breath, and trying to clear the mind a little bit
Paradise Tennant: yes our thoughts either make energy or destroy it :)
    Storm Nordwind: Hello all
    Paradise Tennant: hiya storm:)
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
    Machete Cardalines: waves
Lucinda Lavender: mind full awareness seems to me to be the stepping back from an agenda
    Lucinda Lavender: to just being
    Paradise Tennant: yes surrender
    Paradise Tennant: acceptance
    Paradise Tennant: eyes open :)
    Machete Cardalines: yeah :)
    Paradise Tennant: everything open:)
Lucinda Lavender: and it can both be a struggle to stay there as well as a rest
Lucinda Lavender: in my mind anyway
Lucinda Lavender: struggle just because there is such a tendency to jump back in
    --BELL--
Machete Cardalines: true, a struggle to stay there, but so restful once one stays there for a bit
Paradise Tennant: well in an open state your ego does not have much to do
    Lucinda Lavender: hmmm yes
Lucinda Lavender: giving the ego part a back seat:)
Paradise Tennant: we are builders, fabricators of illusions :)
Machete Cardalines: so true Paradise, and beautifully put
    Machete Cardalines: (afk)
Paradise Tennant: I guess awareness is the ability to truly see what is ..what should be cherished versus what is illusion :)
Paradise Tennant: not so easy as it sounds
    Lucinda Lavender: yes...
Storm Nordwind: When the sun of awareness rises, gradually the shadows of illusion get less and less and you cease to notice them.
Paradise Tennant: smiles at Storm's sunshine
    Lucinda Lavender: nicely put
Machete Cardalines: I need one of those suns xD
    iwandertoo Resident: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: sleep arrives quietly, I depart quietly, night al
    Lucinda Lavender: night:) Steve
    Storm Nordwind waves
Paradise Tennant: good nite Stev sweet dreams of travel and adventure
Machete Cardalines: I gotta take off too, thank you for the wonderful conversation as usual :) have a beautiful night
Lucinda Lavender: nice to meet you machete:)
Storm Nordwind: Hope to see you again :)
    Machete Cardalines: likewise! :)
    iwandertoo Resident: waves...best to everyone
Paradise Tennant: good nite machete :) enjoy your evening
    Paradise Tennant: good nite susan:)
    Storm Nordwind: Bye Susan!
Lucinda Lavender: Paradise...I had a dream about brightly colored net skirts to wear
    Paradise Tennant: listens and smiles
Paradise Tennant: have one of those in turquoise :)
Lucinda Lavender: I was excited to try one on
Lucinda Lavender: they were for children to dress up in...and I thought one might just fit me
Paradise Tennant: ahhh you inner child dressing up :)
Lucinda Lavender: children these days are wearing them...
    Lucinda Lavender: very ruffly
Lucinda Lavender: this morning dreamt of water being diverted right through a house
Paradise Tennant: sometimes something like that is swishy to wear makes you feel very different
Lucinda Lavender: a change of stream direction required this adjustment
    Paradise Tennant: ooo
    Paradise Tennant: hmmm
Lucinda Lavender: then listened to the news
Lucinda Lavender: and people are wondering if they can stay in their houses these days
Storm Nordwind: Regarding the dream of the skirt... nets are commonly associated with being caught, and the brightness the allure that gets us caught. Yet perhaps if you had put the skirt on, you could have worn it lightly, playfully, without being caught, and just reveled in its beauty.
Lucinda Lavender: yes storm:)...I think there are these places where is caught...
    Lucinda Lavender: one is caught
    Paradise Tennant: by allure
Lucinda Lavender: and too...the internet a place of connection
Storm Nordwind: brb - time for bread to come out of the oven! ...
    Lucinda Lavender: sounds nice!
    Paradise Tennant: breathes in :)
    Lucinda Lavender: smells bread
Paradise Tennant: love the smell of bread
    Storm Nordwind: It's gorgeous :)
Paradise Tennant: hmm hoping it is cheese bread :) with 3 kinds of cheese :)
    Lucinda Lavender: what kind storm?
    --BELL--
Storm Nordwind: My own recipe: 2 parts wheat and malted barley and 1 part rye ... and NO sugar :)
    Paradise Tennant: honey?
    Storm Nordwind: Nope
    Paradise Tennant: orange juice
Storm Nordwind: No added sweetness over the malted barley flour
Lucinda Lavender: is the malted barley a flour?
Paradise Tennant: hmm and it is enough for the yeast to grow :)
    Storm Nordwind: Yup!
    Lucinda Lavender: sounds delicious
Storm Nordwind: I use King Arthur Unbleached Bread Flour and Hodgson Mill Stoneground Rye.
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
    Lucinda Lavender: takes a note
Paradise Tennant: lol here too :)
Paradise Tennant: always good to have options that are sugar free :)
Storm Nordwind: Email me for a recipe :)
Lucinda Lavender: i do not make the bread around here...my husband does:)
Paradise Tennant: I make bread if I have company coming :) like the smell usually do a hearth bread or a batarde
Lucinda Lavender: he does it weekly...such a great thing...
Paradise Tennant: nice to look forward to little domestic pleasures
Lucinda Lavender: has recently started a dandelion wine and elder flower one
    Lucinda Lavender: yes...
Storm Nordwind: Have you tried making elderflower champagne?
Paradise Tennant: that is cool, my nana use to make wicked dandelion wine :) knock your socks off
    Lucinda Lavender: really!!
    Lucinda Lavender: did you taste?
Lucinda Lavender: not ever anything elderflower till this one thing
Lucinda Lavender: I will mention it tho
Storm Nordwind: There is enough natural yeast in the flowers to give it a light fermentation and all the fizz you need :)
    Lucinda Lavender: :)cool
Storm Nordwind: But save some flowers on the trees so you get the berries!
Paradise Tennant: smiles and thinks of tipsy flowers prancing about
    Lucinda Lavender: nodding
Lucinda Lavender: quite a lot of myth around the elderberry
Lucinda Lavender: ours just came up on its own
Lucinda Lavender: today the bees started coming out of their straws
Lucinda Lavender: they are for pollination but not honey
Storm Nordwind: Yesterday we had snow, amid the first three days of rain since last summer :)
    Lucinda Lavender: wow! amazing.
Paradise Tennant: it is like nature just creeps up to you and goes boo sometimes
    Storm Nordwind: hehe!
    Storm Nordwind: Lovely image :))
    Lucinda Lavender: :)))
Lucinda Lavender: I had best be going:)
Lucinda Lavender: good night to all:)
Paradise Tennant: smiles enjoy dinner luci :) thank you for the dreams and conversation :)
Storm Nordwind: Good to see you!
Lucinda Lavender: yes...thank you both too:)
Paradise Tennant: smiles so have you finished your building Storm ?

Storm Nordwind: There's always more to do!
    Alfred Kelberry: wuff!
    Paradise Tennant: hiya barksy :)
    Alfred Kelberry: hi :)
    --BELL--
Storm Nordwind: But if you mean on the coast, then yes for a while
Storm Nordwind: And if you mean here, no there's more to do and still many secrets to unfold! ;))
Paradise Tennant: we have been talking of elderberrry champagne and home made bread :)
Paradise Tennant: and storm's many creations :)
    Storm Nordwind: And Luci's dreams
Paradise Tennant: and beautifully styled chickens :)
    Storm Nordwind: And mindful awareness
    Storm Nordwind: And illusions
Storm Nordwind: For some strange reason, I have the urge to wash the dog... I must find a way to do it :)
    Paradise Tennant: hiya susan :)
    iwandertoo Resident: waves
    Storm Nordwind: Welcome back!
    iwandertoo Resident: thank you
iwandertoo Resident: glad to be here...really here

Paradise Tennant: ohh very easy to wash a dog :)
    Storm Nordwind: :)
Paradise Tennant: do you have a hand held shower :)
Storm Nordwind: I think I can make one :)
Paradise Tennant: little natural shampoo :) and you are all set
Paradise Tennant: brush blue's teeth with the electric toothbrush ..he has a hollywood smile
    Paradise Tennant: beef toothpaste :)
Storm Nordwind: You don't think his boxes would go all soggy?
Paradise Tennant: a prim pup ?
Storm Nordwind: Maybe we could just put shampoo in the pool and throw a bone in there
Paradise Tennant: smiles at alfred :) looks pretty clean to me :)
Paradise Tennant: no tell tale bit of seawead butcher's string .. general brick a brack
Storm Nordwind: Clean? Oh I don't know. And we won't know unless we try. ;)
Paradise Tennant: oooo  no barksy is  trembling
Storm Nordwind is obviously feeling too tired and silly for serious conversation, and should leave matters of gravity to others :)
Paradise Tennant: there is a certain equality to a dog bath ...usually find I get equally wet
    iwandertoo Resident: :)
Storm Nordwind: And scarred - if you try it with a cat
Paradise Tennant: but for a few moments have a crazy puppy in the house who just tears it up running all round .. bed to couch to bed .. rolling snorting and like a 4 month old
Paradise Tennant: fun just to see that happen
    iwandertoo Resident: hi Luci
    Storm Nordwind: Welcome back!
    Lucinda Lavender: HI:)
    Storm Nordwind: (Second sitting)
Lucinda Lavender: is it dog bathing time?

    Alfred Kelberry: luci :)
    Lucinda Lavender: waves too
Alfred Kelberry: one would think the session starts at 8 :)
Lucinda Lavender: wondered where you made the elderflower champagnestorm...and how long ago...?
Storm Nordwind: In England I think was the last. Probably 10 years ago.
    Lucinda Lavender: :)ok...
    Storm Nordwind: Because?
    --BELL--
Lucinda Lavender: just was questioned about it...curious about the circumstances I guess...
Storm Nordwind: Ah... elder is very common throughout England. It's a traditional springtime drink.
Lucinda Lavender: I bet there isn't a b in that circumstance word:)
Lucinda Lavender: ah..yes my husband reads lots of blogs from over there...
Storm Nordwind thinks perhaps Luci has bees on the brain
    Paradise Tennant: http://www.jamieoliver.com/forum/vie...c.php?id=31786
    Alfred Kelberry: naked cook
Lucinda Lavender: well I got to watch a few mason bees come out today:) and we have a lot of bread and Beer here:)
    Paradise Tennant: http://www.elderberries.com/elderflo...es-champagnes/
Alfred Kelberry: beer? you make it, luci?
Storm Nordwind: The berry wine recipe on that page but only a teaser on the flower champagne!
Paradise Tennant: hmmmm I use to make stove top beer and dishwasher jam :) both are super easy
Storm Nordwind now sees the second page!
Alfred Kelberry: it's funny how this emicon is blue :) http://www.jamieoliver.com/forum/img...lies/yummy.gif
Storm Nordwind made lots of prize winning beer in England
Paradise Tennant: you know storm that after this you will be dusting off your champagne making gear :)
    Lucinda Lavender: great link...
Storm Nordwind: Nah... I've stopped making the stuff since emigrating
    Lucinda Lavender: link

    Storm Nordwind: Goodnight Paradise!
Paradise Tennant: thank you luci, storm, barksy , susan, stev .. machete for company ..the conversation .. the encouragement to make fizzy drinks :)
    Alfred Kelberry: para :)
Storm Nordwind sometimes feels (with all this playful talk of food and drink) rather like the Happy Chinaman in the well-known Zen story. :)
iwandertoo Resident: what is the story?
Storm Nordwind: Hehe - as they said when I was very small "Are you sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin" :) ...
    iwandertoo Resident: :)
Storm Nordwind: (Copied from the web...)
Storm Nordwind: "Anyone walking about Chinatowns in America with observe statues of a stout fellow carrying a linen sack. Chinese merchants call him Happy Chinaman or Laughing Buddha....
Storm Nordwind: "This Hotei lived in the T'ang dynasty. He had no desire to call himself a Zen master or to gather many disciples about him. Instead he walked the streets with a big sack into which he would put gifts of candy, fruit, or doughnuts. These he would give to children who gathered around him in play. He established a kindergarten of the streets...
Storm Nordwind: Whenever he met a Zen devotee he would extend his hand and say: "Give me one penny." And if anyone asked him to return to a temple to teach others, again he would reply: "Give me one penny." ...
Storm Nordwind: Once he was about his play-work another Zen master happened along and inquired: "What is the significance of Zen?" ...
Storm Nordwind: Hotei immediately plopped his sack down on the ground in silent answer. ...
Storm Nordwind: "Then," asked the other, "what is the actualization of Zen?" ...
Storm Nordwind: At once the Happy Chinaman swung the sack over his shoulder and continued on his way.
    Storm Nordwind: (end of story)
    --BELL--
iwandertoo Resident: (not certain i get it)
Storm Nordwind: Simply joy in every moment, pausing to be aware and seeing what is Being. Then applying that joyfully will getting on with one's life
    Storm Nordwind: *will -> while
    iwandertoo Resident: nods
Storm Nordwind: It is very like a story of Play as Being in many ways!
iwandertoo Resident: what is the purpose of the penny?
Storm Nordwind: To buy more contents for the sack to give to children
iwandertoo Resident: seems the lesson is lost then...
iwandertoo Resident: but this is where i have it wrong...no lesson...just be
Alfred Kelberry: isn't any input a lesson of some sort?
Storm Nordwind: Zen appeals to many in seriousness, to many in humor, to some in plain quirkiness! :)
iwandertoo Resident: i think so, boxy.
iwandertoo Resident: smiling re the last comment storm
iwandertoo Resident: i am exhausted...and not very good company. thank you for this...
    iwandertoo Resident: should sleep
Storm Nordwind: Ah - don't run yourself down. Thank you for your time!
    iwandertoo Resident: ty both
    iwandertoo Resident: nite
    Storm Nordwind: Bye for now!
Alfred Kelberry: dharma has many implementations and they seem to get along nicely together
    Storm Nordwind nods
Alfred Kelberry: i like this diversity and openness
Alfred Kelberry: you can fork it anytime and it happens constantly
Storm Nordwind: Yes. And I like the idea that you don't have to accept any of it blindly, no matter who says it. Just accept what rings true to you at the time, and you can save the rest for later!
Alfred Kelberry: yes, the practical approach
Alfred Kelberry: besides, you don't have to "give up" your faith if you have one to practice (not believe in) a certain type of dharma teaching
    Storm Nordwind: yes that's true.
Alfred Kelberry: this is where i agree with early text scholars that westerners got it wrong. buddhism isn't a religion.
Storm Nordwind: What word would you use to set westerners straight?
    Alfred Kelberry: tradition
Storm Nordwind: It's quite hard to encapsulate in the way that the western mind so often demands!
Alfred Kelberry: i think it's changing slowly
    --BELL--
Storm Nordwind: Yes. I hasn't been here for long. A hundred years or so and only half that being widely known.
Alfred Kelberry: buddhism psychology course in berkeley is a good example of it
    Storm Nordwind: Oh?
    Alfred Kelberry: http://webcast.berkeley.edu/course_d...d=2008-D-74171
Storm Nordwind: Cool. I'll take a listen in a day or two
Alfred Kelberry: ah, it's named even better: buddhist psychology
    Storm Nordwind: I noticed, yes!
Alfred Kelberry: here, even i got this -ism in my head
    Storm Nordwind smiles
Alfred Kelberry: she (eleanor rosch) starts with history and goes on describing various practices in both traditional and psychology context. they also do meditations.
    Alfred Kelberry: barca :)
Storm Nordwind: Very interesting. What do you think will be the main learning outcomes for students?
    Barcalona Rhapsody: hi folks
    Storm Nordwind: Hello!

Barcalona Rhapsody: maybe nice for pila
    Barcalona Rhapsody: or pema
Alfred Kelberry: storm... first word that comes up is awareness. expanded awareness, which may not say much, but i could go as far as to call it a fast paced course to maturity. in terms of life experience.
Storm Nordwind: Wow - that's an impressive sales pitch! :)
Alfred Kelberry: heh, thank you :)
Barcalona Rhapsody: i go to the awareness campaign for science
Barcalona Rhapsody: called beauti of science

Alfred Kelberry: i mean, what are you doing there? :)
    Barcalona Rhapsody: following a symposium
    Alfred Kelberry: ah
Barcalona Rhapsody: about beauty in science
Alfred Kelberry: oh, art meets science?
Barcalona Rhapsody: as a way for stimulating interest in life science
Barcalona Rhapsody: no ppl meet sciece by art
    Barcalona Rhapsody: science
Barcalona Rhapsody: by way of its beauty
Barcalona Rhapsody: the same as www.beautyofscience.org

Barcalona Rhapsody: no i have to look up ingoogle an australian site
Storm Nordwind used to work 20km down the road from Leiden :)
Alfred Kelberry: hmm, i would think of beauty in math terms. as an elegant model maybe that in peculiar form connects with art.
Barcalona Rhapsody: sorry it was www.beautyinscience,com
Alfred Kelberry: i have an example in my head, but i have to look up the details...
Barcalona Rhapsody: and when u see "beauty in science" on youtube
Storm Nordwind: Fibonacci is probably the most frequetnly cited example Alfred
Barcalona Rhapsody: u will see the exhibition in rotterdam museum boymans
Storm Nordwind: And more recently, fractals
    Barcalona Rhapsody: sure storm
Alfred Kelberry: storm, yes... well popularized
Barcalona Rhapsody: sure fractals are a good way
Barcalona Rhapsody: in rotterdam they have an exhibition of pictures from science
Barcalona Rhapsody: they can be more beautiful than art
    Barcalona Rhapsody: than modern art
Alfred Kelberry: ah, ok, here it is: one species of fish (argyropelecus olfersi) is a linier transformation of the other (sternoptyx diphana) :))
Alfred Kelberry: i get a bonus point for typing the names :)
Barcalona Rhapsody: just watch the pictures
Barcalona Rhapsody: u don’t have to write the words
Alfred Kelberry: pictures themselves are not well connected with science as an art, i think
Barcalona Rhapsody: one picture says more than 1000 words
Alfred Kelberry: in this sense everything we see is an art
    Barcalona Rhapsody: not yet connected
Barcalona Rhapsody: but they can in future
    Barcalona Rhapsody: visual art
    Barcalona Rhapsody: or virtual art
Barcalona Rhapsody: but sorry for interrupting
    Barcalona Rhapsody: your discussion
    --BELL--
    Alfred Kelberry: no interruption :)
Barcalona Rhapsody: i just came bye
    Barcalona Rhapsody: by
    Barcalona Rhapsody: along
Storm Nordwind: What about art forms other than visual?
Barcalona Rhapsody: or how u say that
Alfred Kelberry: glad you did, barca :)
    Barcalona Rhapsody: dropped by
    Barcalona Rhapsody: sure
    Barcalona Rhapsody: good question
    Barcalona Rhapsody: like dancing
    Barcalona Rhapsody: or acting
Barcalona Rhapsody: but they are also visual
Barcalona Rhapsody: or u mean performing arts
     Barcalona Rhapsody: or music
    Storm Nordwind: Yes all those
Barcalona Rhapsody: that can be heard but not seen
Storm Nordwind: performing arts can be seen but I meant those too
    Barcalona Rhapsody: sure
    Barcalona Rhapsody: good question
Barcalona Rhapsody: is there also performing science ?
    Barcalona Rhapsody: yes
    Barcalona Rhapsody: beauty of composition
    Barcalona Rhapsody: harmony
    Barcalona Rhapsody: symmetry
    Barcalona Rhapsody: in discussions
Barcalona Rhapsody: or in think models
    Barcalona Rhapsody: or in government

    Barcalona Rhapsody: rules
Barcalona Rhapsody: that all can be science
Barcalona Rhapsody: and that all can be beautiful
    Barcalona Rhapsody: or ugly
Barcalona Rhapsody: so its more about esthetics in science
    Barcalona Rhapsody: I suppose
Barcalona Rhapsody: when is something beautiful ?
Barcalona Rhapsody: what are the characteristics of beauty?
    Barcalona Rhapsody: in science?
Storm Nordwind: when it seems so to you
    Barcalona Rhapsody: but that’s subjective
Storm Nordwind: Exactly. It IS subjective :)
Barcalona Rhapsody: but some things seem beautiful to more ppl
Barcalona Rhapsody: why do most ppl like the art of Michelangelo?
    Barcalona Rhapsody: Mona Lisa?
    Barcalona Rhapsody: Rembrandt?
Storm Nordwind: I haven't asked most people if they do
    Barcalona Rhapsody: van Gogh
Barcalona Rhapsody: but they sell good
Barcalona Rhapsody: so some thing all ppl like
    Barcalona Rhapsody: like nature
    Barcalona Rhapsody: things
Storm Nordwind: To much of a generalization to know whether that's true or not
    Storm Nordwind: *not
    Barcalona Rhapsody: ok
    Barcalona Rhapsody: not scientific enough
    Barcalona Rhapsody: not
Barcalona Rhapsody: it cannot be proven
Barcalona Rhapsody: but it can be analyzed
Storm Nordwind: Moreover it need not be proven :)
    Barcalona Rhapsody: sure
Barcalona Rhapsody: that would be of use
Barcalona Rhapsody: or should be of use
Storm Nordwind: If you're a commercial artist or a printer of art pictures, you go with whatever fashion shows in your sales statistics! :)
Barcalona Rhapsody: so I will learn on the symposium today
Barcalona Rhapsody: but not only for short term statistics I hope?
Barcalona Rhapsody: there are also long term statistics
Storm Nordwind: Long term statistics don't buy bread for you short term :)
Barcalona Rhapsody: and some historic evidence
    Barcalona Rhapsody: both are needed
Barcalona Rhapsody: its just like smoking
Barcalona Rhapsody: short time benefit long time disaster
    Barcalona Rhapsody: disaster
Barcalona Rhapsody: but than the other way around
Barcalona Rhapsody: like learning to enjoy French cheese
    Barcalona Rhapsody: learning
Storm Nordwind: It's not like smoking because we're talking about preferences, and those are not absolute, across individuals, cultures or time. They change. They are not very predictable. And I like that. :)
Barcalona Rhapsody: its a state of maturity
    Barcalona Rhapsody: me too
Barcalona Rhapsody: that is not predictable
Barcalona Rhapsody: but more a feeling of the fingertips
    Barcalona Rhapsody: or intuition
Barcalona Rhapsody: and so very human
    Barcalona Rhapsody: or creative
Storm Nordwind: But what is science but amassing observations, forming a hypothesis, and testing the hypothesis to see if predicts something?
    Barcalona Rhapsody: correct storm
Barcalona Rhapsody: u hit the nail on his head
Alfred Kelberry: um, barca, I think beauty in science as an art requires an underlying connection to be present. from both sides. artistic appeal and scientific significance. e.g. not a simple picture of algae, but fractals or my linear transformation example.
Barcalona Rhapsody: history cannot predict future
    Barcalona Rhapsody: future
Barcalona Rhapsody: ok storm I learn from u
    Barcalona Rhapsody: I agree
Barcalona Rhapsody: its more than a picture of ages
    --BELL--
Barcalona Rhapsody: but Google and face book can predict what u are going to do tomorrow
    Barcalona Rhapsody: face
Barcalona Rhapsody: by analyzing what u searched for last year
Storm Nordwind notes Google would have a hard time predicting my tomorrow :)
Storm Nordwind: Gentlemen, would you both please excuse me? A new day starts for you, but the old one is still finishing for me. I'd best fly my rowboat back to the beach!
Barcalona Rhapsody: ok have a good night
    Barcalona Rhapsody: sleep well
Storm Nordwind: Bye for now, and thank you for your time. :)
Barcalona Rhapsody: and stand up healthy tomorrow
    Alfred Kelberry: bye stormy boy
    Barcalona Rhapsody: interesting guy
    Barcalona Rhapsody: that storm
    Alfred Kelberry: barca too :)
Barcalona Rhapsody: and u too boxy
    Alfred Kelberry: haha
Barcalona Rhapsody: on the internet nobody knows u are a dog
Alfred Kelberry: ok, we're all pretty interesting :)
    Barcalona Rhapsody: sure
Alfred Kelberry: they think i am
Alfred Kelberry: i can bark even
    Alfred Kelberry: wuff!
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    Storm Nordwind waves
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Alfred Kelberry: ok, enjoy leiden, barca :)
    Barcalona Rhapsody: thnx
Alfred Kelberry: i'm off now as i'm being distracted here
Barcalona Rhapsody: what time is it with u ?
Barcalona Rhapsody: u go to bed too ?
    Alfred Kelberry: not yet :)
Barcalona Rhapsody: or are u European ?
    Barcalona Rhapsody: euro
    Alfred Kelberry: see you, barca
    Barcalona Rhapsody: bye
