Wol Euler was guardian for this session.

    eggsalad Ormstein: mornin, wol =hug=
    Wol Euler: evening, egg!
Wol Euler hugs right back at ya
    Wol Euler: how's life?
eggsalad Ormstein: dull, just the way I like it
    Wol Euler: heheheheh
Wol Euler: yeah, I understand that feeling
eggsalad Ormstein: is there anything to discuss?
    Wol Euler: hmmmmmmmm
    eggsalad Ormstein: hi rhia! =hug=
    Wol Euler: hello rhi
    Wol Euler: can you walk?
    Wol Euler: lost her again...
    eggsalad Ormstein: dammit
Wol Euler: we dwellers in major cities get so used to fast reliable internet connections
    Yakuzza Lethecus: good morning
Wol Euler: hello yaku, good mroning
eggsalad Ormstein: this is true, although America has the overall worst net service of any industrialized nation, as well
    eggsalad Ormstein: hi yaku
Wol Euler: well, so much of the US is very sparsely settled, which we outsiders often forget
eggsalad Ormstein: yes, that is indeed the problem
Wol Euler: hard enough to get electricity and telephone to those people, let alone glassfibre internet
eggsalad Ormstein: we don't even have fibre internet in most big cities, yet!
Wol Euler: heheheheheh, ah well that is something different then :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: well i was very amazed how good the net services are for example in sweden which has a very low population density, but of course there are also some area´s and the population centers to the south
Wol Euler: but actually perhaps it's the same phenomenon. Germany is half hte size of TExas and has a third of hte population of the US
Yakuzza Lethecus: here where i live in germany internet is also not very fast, but at least reliable
Wol Euler: erm, a quarter actually
Wol Euler: (population, around 88 million)
Wol Euler: we have the great advantage of a very high average pop density
    Wol Euler: that's great, rhi!
    Yakuzza Lethecus: morning rhi
Wol Euler: that'll be a great relief, I bet

    --BELL--

eggsalad Ormstein: not much of a discussion, so if you will excuse me
    Wol Euler: heh
    Rhiannon Dragoone: TC egg
Wol Euler: I hope people don't come here thinking that I will entertain them :-/
Wol Euler: I am not a circus performer
Rhiannon Dragoone: No, That is my job. If I could dance, I would. lol
    Wol Euler: hopefully tomorrow :)
    Rhiannon Dragoone: Yes!
Rhiannon Dragoone: I can dance right in the fountain. lol
    Rhiannon Dragoone: brb
Yakuzza Lethecus: well rezzable pole might be missing then :P
Wol Euler: we'll cross that bridge if and when we come to it
    Rhiannon Dragoone: back
    Wol Euler: wb
    Yakuzza Lethecus: wb
Wol Euler: yaku, you'll be 800 days old on tuesday :)
Rhiannon Dragoone: Rezzable pole? You're saying you want me to pole dance?
    Rhiannon Dragoone: Yak, congratulations!
Yakuzza Lethecus: no, i was only thinking about the fact that a lot of things here are rezzable and skripted
    Yakuzza Lethecus: thx :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: not much celebration and even thinking abou that tho :)
    Wol Euler smiles.
Yakuzza Lethecus: but that might be a subject, does the age of our avatars effect us ?
Yakuzza Lethecus: well one factor would be our immersiveness
Wol Euler: the experience they acquire certainly does, as in RL
    Wol Euler nods.
Rhiannon Dragoone: Well you should celebrate. Not every day You turn 800
Yakuzza Lethecus: the 1000 and the regular sl rezzdays maybe
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: celebrating the 100s makes a kind of sense, since life seems to go so much faster here
Rhiannon Dragoone: Why do you think that is, wol?

    --BELL--

Wol Euler: I think it's because of the emotional intensity of SL, which is paradoxically due to the lack of other info (no smell, no sight, no touch)
Yakuzza Lethecus: i would also agree on the thought that life seems to flow faster in secondlife, so many ppl i feel i haven´t seen in a long time when i havne´t talked to em in a week, in rl it´s still that having seen someone last month feels not that far away, well depends on the level of relationship of course, still i don´t like celebrating since i haven´t developed fun in organizing stuff and feel party´s as a burden as soon as it comes to organization part
Rhiannon Dragoone: It is interesting to me that a month in SL is like years in RL. Why do you think it's so intense here?
Wol Euler: focus, I think. We experience intensely the two channels that are actually open here
Wol Euler: and my theory, which I'm discovering "live" right at this moment, is that the intensity makes it feel faster
Wol Euler: compared with the less intense because much broader communicatino in RL
Wol Euler: this theory may be entirely crap, please feel free to debate it
Rhiannon Dragoone: some people I know have suggested it's because of the rate of change. Others because its a form of entertainment, and we expect things to go fast in entertainment, but I agree with you, wol, that it's because of the intensity, but I'm not sure why it is so intense here.
Wol Euler: I'm not sure about "entertainment"
Wol Euler: unless you count all of life as entertaining, which I do :)
Rhiannon Dragoone: Yeah, That Didn't ring true to me either
    Wol Euler chuckles.
Wol Euler: it's like the pseudo- great debate about whether SL is a game or not.
    Wol Euler: simple answer: no.
    Wol Euler: next.
Wol Euler: anyone who's ever played a real game knows that this is not one
Rhiannon Dragoone: Well, but fir some it us. Um having Pam Clifton speak before my group tomorrow, BTW
    Wol Euler: who's she?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: pamela clift
    Yakuzza Lethecus: roadside philosopers
Yakuzza Lethecus: you´ve been there wol, you know her :)
Wol Euler: oh, right; I was thinking of RL people :)
    Wol Euler: heheheh
Wol Euler: the worlds, they blend
Wol Euler: for some of us
Wol Euler: what's her subject tomorrow?

    --BELL--

Rhiannon Dragoone: oh her discussion of the ways of being in sl
Rhiannon Dragoone: That's why when you said SL is not a game, it reminded me of the event
Wol Euler: I'm going to dinner with frriends, but might be back for that. What time is it?
    Rhiannon Dragoone: 6:00pm slt
Wol Euler: ah, that is 3am on Sunday for me :) perhaps I might make that
Yakuzza Lethecus: oh, 6pm slt is 3am ?
Wol Euler: erm, yes, nine hour difference
    Wol Euler: so alas no
Rhiannon Dragoone: 6pm alt Fri is 0100 Sat gmt
Yakuzza Lethecus: i got to go, nice to see you both, and thanks wol
Wol Euler: bye yaku, take care
    Rhiannon Dragoone: bye yak
Wol Euler: 9 hrs to German time, 1:55am SL is 10:55am MEZ
Rhiannon Dragoone: I should go too. Its getting late for me
Wol Euler: yeah, goodnight rhi, and I hope your DSL works
Rhiannon Dragoone: Thanks. It will be great to move.
    Rhiannon Dragoone: waves and poofs
