    Storm Nordwind: Good morning Arch!
    Archmage Atlantis: Hello Storm
Archmage Atlantis: I am invisible to my rendering
Storm Nordwind: You have the appearance of great clarity, yes :)
Archmage Atlantis: Somewhere over the rainbow
Storm Nordwind: But your pets obviously still see you.
    Archmage Atlantis: yes, they do
Archmage Atlantis: in rl and in sl
Storm Nordwind: I no longer have pets in RL
    Archmage Atlantis: sad
    Archmage Atlantis: they believe
Storm Nordwind: It does not seem it would fair to a roaming animal to be up here on the 5th floor.
    Storm Nordwind: Hi guys
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey everyone
    Multiverse1 Resident: hello as well
    Storm Nordwind: Good morning Eliza!
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hi eliza
    Multiverse1 Resident: hiya Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: Morning Storm, Yaku, Multi, Arch (invisible?)
    Multiverse1 Resident: noticed that also
Storm Nordwind: We are not talking about much so far, so the floor is free if anyone has a burning topic :)
Archmage Atlantis: I will ask Kaya and Chester to speak to thee planet
Eliza Madrigal looks in the oven
Multiverse1 Resident: what will thhey say?
Multiverse1 Resident: was this of animals on the 5th floor
Archmage Atlantis: The thing they say to me is to love
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Archmage Atlantis: what they may say to others
    Archmage Atlantis: that the decide
Storm Nordwind: Out of love I have not fettered my pets in the past, and so their lives were invariably cut short. Now, out of love, I am petless.
Eliza Madrigal would be hard pressed to find a better topic than the end all be all
    Archmage Atlantis: Eliza
    Archmage Atlantis: I found peace

    A man and his dog.

Yakuzza Lethecus: i am thinking of the picture bruce posted[* correction, see below], with the homeless and his dog, that was a statement of belonging
    Archmage Atlantis: Hoding Nimbus
    Archmage Atlantis: in my arms
    Archmage Atlantis: whenhe died
    Eliza Madrigal: "statement of belonging"
Multiverse1 Resident: to love is to be loved at times
Archmage Atlantis: Peter Tosh.. Gett Up, Stand Up; for our rights
Multiverse1 Resident: I have a pet fish, that I have loved for 7 years. To see her watch me , I sometimes feel the love of my pet, though some of my friends don't consider her a pet
Multiverse1 Resident: one day , I took her out and placed her on my friends lap
    Yakuzza Lethecus: http://www.weruletheinternet.com/wp-content/uploads/images/2012/Janurary/homeless_dog.jpg
Multiverse1 Resident: they encountered each other
Multiverse1 Resident: he now greets her upon entering my abode
Multiverse1 Resident: and I love her
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Storm Nordwind: My only pets now are housewights.
Eliza Madrigal has a cat but I think we are his pets
Storm Nordwind: Does he feed you? :)
Eliza Madrigal giggles... yes with warm purrs
    Storm Nordwind chuckles
Yakuzza Lethecus: * correction, i saw that on posted by zen on another social network
    Yakuzza Lethecus: wb multi

    Pema on a train.

    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey pema
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Pema :)
Multiverse1 Resident: booted out, felt like I was ejected
    Pema Pera: hi everybody!
    Multiverse1 Resident: hi pema
Storm Nordwind: Good morning Pema :)
Pema Pera: (may have lag; in train between New York and Princeton with intermiitant reception)
Storm Nordwind hears the clackety-clack and the whooshing noises
Multiverse1 Resident: and the world whizzing by

    Signal problems.

Pema Pera: also the sound of a crackly voice saying "do to `signal problems' this train will move slower (than even normally is the case)"?
Eliza Madrigal: at least they let you know :)
Storm Nordwind: Surrendering to the forces of the train...
Pema Pera: I love those "signal problem" -- perhaps all of our problems in life can be ultimately reduced to `signal problems' . . . . .
Multiverse1 Resident: thinking of "the vehicles" that propell us.
Multiverse1 Resident: taking us to and fro
Storm Nordwind: Signals that we fail to see, perhaps. Signals that we fail to pass on...
Pema Pera: or signals that we take too literally
    Multiverse1 Resident: the signal-maker perhaps
Pema Pera: finger instead of moon
Storm Nordwind: Yes indeed. Signals that we fixate on and fail to see what their real meaning is or what they're pointing to.

    Kagyu stories.

Pema Pera: I'm always intrigued by the Kagyu stories about signs and signals
Pema Pera: how everything is seen that way
Pema Pera: by Tilopa, talking to Naropa, etc
Pema Pera: signalling, rather than trying to analyze or explain
Storm Nordwind: Would you like to give an example for those whose studies haven't taken them in that direction?
    Pema Pera: hmmm, let's see
Pema Pera: whenever Tilopa teaches Naropa, he doesn't explain what the real reality is
Pema Pera: but rather he appears to him as a beggar or butcher or whatever unpleasant person
Pema Pera: and then confronts Naropa with his dualistic attitude of jugdment of what is good and bad
Pema Pera: so his "pointing out" is through examples
Pema Pera: parallels with parabels in the New Testament, like the sermon on the mount
Multiverse1 Resident: like the planting of a seed, only to find out when it has fruited?
    Pema Pera: yes

    Meaning creeps up.

Storm Nordwind: ...and meaning creeps up on the student without his having realized it or his dualistic mind having got in the way.
Pema Pera: yes, it sneaks by the rational defenses :-)
    Storm Nordwind smiles
Storm Nordwind: All in favor of that! ;)
Pema Pera: hiding in the T cells of rationality?
Multiverse1 Resident: a learning without teaching, is what i was reading the other day. The student does not know he has learned until recelling the thought in a different circumstance
    Multiverse1 Resident: recalling
Storm Nordwind: "T cells of rationality" sounds like a paramilitary philosophers' organization! ;-)
    Multiverse1 Resident: Anarchy Angels even
Multiverse1 Resident: how we find similarities in all sorts of things
Storm Nordwind: I think I have mentioned before that I often learn best "in the background" so to speak. I even learnt a difficult guitar riff once without playting at all while my guitar was in the closet for a few years.
Multiverse1 Resident: amazing how that works!

    Skating on thin ice.

Pema Pera: yes, I know the feeling: I was surprised one early winter day, not having skated for ten months or so, that I could skate better than the last time I was on the ice
Pema Pera: (as a child, before skating rinks, in the outdoors)
Storm Nordwind imagines Pema skating between the polders...
Pema Pera: in the spirit of sixties songs: explanations may need to be forgotten as in "John Barleycorn must die" :-)
Pema Pera: skating underneaths bridges was the real danger: the ice is thinner there, sometimes MUCH thinner . . .
Multiverse1 Resident: you must use speed in that instance, to carry the lesser load
    Pema Pera: :-)
Pema Pera: well, have to go, good meeting you here, if briefly!
Eliza Madrigal: Nice to see you Pema :)
Storm Nordwind: Bridges attract all the cold to themselves, leaving scant reserves for their surroundings!
    Storm Nordwind: Bye Pema

    Accidental encounter.

Yakuzza Lethecus is thinking of doing the same mistakes again and again and sometimes we might just loose our bad concepts and an accidental encounter with an old subject prevents us to dig up our old bad concepts
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye pema
    Multiverse1 Resident: by pema
Yakuzza Lethecus: having and accidental fresh mind
Storm Nordwind: When the time is right to be shaken out of the groove, that can happen
Multiverse1 Resident: another view, "inflicted?" upon us?
Multiverse1 Resident: maybe projected in our direction, would be a better look at it.
Multiverse1 Resident: or perhaps the signal, needs to have a receiver
Eliza Madrigal: I have to get going... grandfather called mid-session (his birthday tomorrow) so I've been a bit divided :)
Eliza Madrigal: Nice to see you :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: nice to see you too
Storm Nordwind: Bye for now Eliza!
Multiverse1 Resident: Happy grand birthday, father, bye eliza
    Eliza Madrigal: thanks, waves
Yakuzza Lethecus: more examples for signals could be fruitful
Archmage Atlantis: there are things we cannot accept in the form we are now

"Turn your radio on..." (with apologies to Albert E. Brumley)

Multiverse1 Resident: does the signal have to be initiated, to become a signal? A wave that is created can encounter the shore, yet can disipate and not be seen at all
Storm Nordwind: Our awareness has to be initiated
    Yakuzza Lethecus: the cocktailparty effect
Multiverse1 Resident: what of the dropping of oneself, do we initiate the reception by the absence of initiation
Archmage Atlantis: AS Sheldon says "bazinga"
    Archmage Atlantis: *chucke
Multiverse1 Resident: Bazzooka bubble gum , then
Yakuzza Lethecus: actually that phrase was verymuch fitting i think about the absence of initiation
Yakuzza Lethecus: well we have the bell or other initiations, but i guess sometimes we should just drop
Multiverse1 Resident: so then bazinga, the absence of initiation, leads to the initiation of it's own absence. We create the appearance
Archmage Atlantis: Socrates poked at what was the esttabl;ih ment injis time
Multiverse1 Resident: Then it only "exists" in our minds? and cannot be grasped by fingers, only thoughts.

    Evaporated consciousness.

Multiverse1 Resident: Are we then initiating anything? or is it as the leaf floating down the stream, only to think, it is steering ( navigating) the current.
Multiverse1 Resident: we experience it, in either way though
Storm Nordwind: How much of it do we experience it in either case?
Multiverse1 Resident: we interact is all
Multiverse1 Resident: we may dam up the river, and impead it's flow, yet does the river know or care
Storm Nordwind: if you dam consciousness and impede its flow, it may perhaps care
Multiverse1 Resident: only for a time though, it may chose to evaporate instead
Storm Nordwind wonders whether "evaporated consciousness" sounds like a recipe ingredient for a party dessert. :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: only for haloween
    Storm Nordwind chuckles
Multiverse1 Resident: flow the river of time and it's signals, and with that I shall float downsream. Have to travel. Be well Yaku, Storm and Arch
    Storm Nordwind waves
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye multi
Yakuzza Lethecus: have a good day you two + pets
    Storm Nordwind: Bye Yaku!
Storm Nordwind: I too shall fly. Good to hear you if not see you this time Arch!
