    [06:56] red ribbon: reality
    1. (n) all of your experiences that determine how things appear to you
    2. (n) the state of being actual or real
    3. (n) the state of the world as it really is rather than as you might want it to be
    4. (n) the quality possessed by something that is real

    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Ya :))
Yakuzza Lethecus: hey, good morning eliza
Eliza Madrigal: How is the day?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: same taste :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: work is usually not that exciting, i just do,, but generallly i can´t complain
    Yakuzza Lethecus: nice blinking particles
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
Eliza Madrigal: Sunshine has been creative lately... making so many things
    Eliza Madrigal: like... these...

    yaku and eliza_002.png
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey druth
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Druth :)
    druth Vlodovic: hey
    druth Vlodovic: ohh fae!
Eliza Madrigal: Nice to see you
druth Vlodovic: sorry, hummingbirds, even stranger beasts
Eliza Madrigal: How is life Druth?
    druth Vlodovic: well enough
Eliza Madrigal: Seems Yaku's feeling too :)
    druth Vlodovic: "continuous" :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: :)

druth Vlodovic: so that leaves one, how is eliza's life
Yakuzza Lethecus: was just about to ask :)
Eliza Madrigal: :) I am blank with the question
Eliza Madrigal: many wonderful things and some puzzles
    druth Vlodovic: a blank life
Eliza Madrigal: Much to be thankful for
    druth Vlodovic: ohh, spill!
    Eliza Madrigal: haha, the puzzles?
druth Vlodovic: I was hoping for things to be thankful for, but puzzles will do
Eliza Madrigal: can be thankful for puzzles too I suppose

Eliza Madrigal: we could do a thankfulness round :)
Eliza Madrigal: want to begin Ya?
druth Vlodovic: I'd prefer a puzzle round ;-/
Eliza Madrigal: Ohh... okay then that too
Yakuzza Lethecus: i am thankful for sitting here surrounded by hummingbirds and avatars in a virtual reality
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: I am thankful for Play as Being, too, and for so many interesting avatars in my life
    Bleu Oleander: good morning :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: morning bleu :)
Eliza Madrigal: Morning Bleu, we're having a thankfulness round, then a puzzle round
    Bleu Oleander: very nice!
druth Vlodovic: ok, health and relative material comfort then
druth Vlodovic: whcih makes it bleu's trun
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bleu Oleander: ok give me a sec
Eliza Madrigal: I'm going to lower the fountain, hope no one minds
Eliza Madrigal: just need to watch other cues for the bell approaching
Bleu Oleander: thankful for many moments of happiness :)
    Eliza Madrigal smiles

Eliza Madrigal: So after the bell perhaps we share puzzles

Eliza Madrigal: I have too many puzzles to come up with just one; think that's why I go blank :)
Bleu Oleander: a puzzle for me is to whom or to what are we giving thanks?
    Eliza Madrigal: mmmmm
    Eliza Madrigal: nice question
    Bleu Oleander: any ideas?
Eliza Madrigal: first thought is simply: Life
Bleu Oleander: can "life" receive thanks?
Eliza Madrigal: capacity to be here asking that question
    Eliza Madrigal: and answering simultaneously
Eliza Madrigal: which leads to what is conscioiusness
    Eliza Madrigal: :)

Bleu Oleander: what is the concept of thanks .... appreciation?
Bleu Oleander: not really an easy concept once you start to think about it
    Eliza Madrigal nods
Eliza Madrigal: people are the big puzzles to me... myself included

Yakuzza Lethecus: is it realated to allow oneself to be happy and fall and take a person into a larger comfort zone ?
Eliza Madrigal: seems part of the same question in a way
druth Vlodovic: an acknowledgement of positives in life
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
Yakuzza Lethecus: being thankful as being happy and share it with a person who caused it

Bleu Oleander: I think we tend to say a lot of things without thinking them through
    Yakuzza Lethecus: that´s true
    Eliza Madrigal nods
Eliza Madrigal: the pauses are meant to make place for that in a way...
    Eliza Madrigal: noticing, listening
Bleu Oleander: so is happiness related to thankfulness?

Eliza Madrigal: Druth did you have a puzzle to share?
druth Vlodovic: thousands, most not really suitable to this place :)
    Eliza Madrigal grins
Eliza Madrigal: prob means they involve people, like some of mine, hah

druth Vlodovic: so the pauses might be a sort of way of being thankful, since it just helps us reconnect with the wholeness of life
druth Vlodovic: and not just the bits that we need to "do something about"
    Bleu Oleander: nice thought druth
    Eliza Madrigal: amen
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: pauses as watching and getting aware of our habits
Eliza Madrigal: wholeness of life, enoughness
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hello visitor
Eliza Madrigal: hard not to smile when even the big puzzles find perspective
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Visitor :)
Eliza Madrigal: Welcome to Play as Being
    Bleu Oleander: hi Visitor
Eliza Madrigal: would you like to join us?

Bleu Oleander: speaking of habits ... interesting article: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/02/19/ma...=habits&st=cse
    Eliza Madrigal: Oh, okay
    druth Vlodovic: we're hiding
    Eliza Madrigal: heeh Druth
Eliza Madrigal: no we aren't haha
Eliza Madrigal: in the meantime I'll give you a note about the group
    Alfred Kelberry: hi :)
    Bleu Oleander: hiya boxy
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Boxy :)
Eliza Madrigal: we're discussing the role of thankfulness in happiness, habits and puzzles

Alfred Kelberry: are those little angels floating around?

Eliza Madrigal: Visitor, I'd like to let you know that we record all of our sessions and place them on a public wiki at playasbeing.org
Eliza Madrigal: Is it OK to include your comments?
Alfred Kelberry: yes, being thankful is a good thing
Eliza Madrigal: if we stop long enough to just notice all around us, it is difficult not to be thankful

Eliza Madrigal: was listening to Natalie Goldberg describe how the poet Alan Ginsberg would have an apple, then leave it outside to just watch what happened to it... even over the course of weeks
    Eliza Madrigal: object of attention

Eliza Madrigal: (leave the core I mean ;-)
    druth Vlodovic: squirrels?
Eliza Madrigal: not sure... she just described his way of noticing what he noticed and hm...
    Bleu Oleander: witness to change
Eliza Madrigal: such a simple thing
    Eliza Madrigal: yes

Eliza Madrigal: thanks for the article Bleu
    Bleu Oleander: yw!
Bleu Oleander: interesting to notice our reward systems
    Eliza Madrigal: ooh so true
Bleu Oleander: that perpetuate our habits
Bleu Oleander: wonderful to think that corporations are noticing too (hehe)
Eliza Madrigal: marketers know which direction most are likely to walk in a store and anthropologists know what the average family is likely to have in the fridge... maddening to think we are so predictable
Eliza Madrigal: yet diversity is in play all around
Eliza Madrigal: could catch a different rhythm
Bleu Oleander: so transparent to everyone but ourselves

druth Vlodovic: I was trying to talk to a fellow about the difference between "knowing" someone and "predicting" them
Eliza Madrigal: oh good puzzle :)
    Eliza Madrigal listens
druth Vlodovic: eh, I hardly have a science of it, more an instinct
Bleu Oleander: can we ever really know someone? perhaps all we can really do is make preditions about them?
druth Vlodovic: but most people can be fitted into several broad categories and that makes much of what they say or do predictable
Eliza Madrigal: nods... I think there are surface patterns but we never reach bottom with another
Eliza Madrigal: much less with ourselves
Bleu Oleander: past experience or interaction with someone leads to making preditions?
Eliza Madrigal: "Know thyself" is a lifetime's work at least
    Bleu Oleander: :)
druth Vlodovic: if you can "type" them properly
Bleu Oleander: I should add, not always valid preditions
    Eliza Madrigal: nods

druth Vlodovic: the problem is that "typing" people often makes it harder to know them, unless you keep your types malleable and discardable
Bleu Oleander: we or at least I often make mistakes about others
Eliza Madrigal: and it is funny the comment about transparent... have been surprised in the last year to hear from friends things like "oh had no idea" when I've felt like I'm an open book
    Eliza Madrigal: malleable types, yes
Eliza Madrigal: I think that's the thing... not to try to cut away all patterns but let them open up
Eliza Madrigal: make some room with one another
    Eliza Madrigal: happy places :)

Bleu Oleander: no shortcuts to knowing
Eliza Madrigal: stepping into the blind spots isn't so easy
Bleu Oleander: amazing that we fill in our visual blind spot constantly
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Robbin
druth Vlodovic: we predict what should be there, the same way TV screens depends on our ability to cover over blanks if they are small enough
    Robbin Roelofs: hello
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hello robin
    druth Vlodovic: hi robbin
    Bleu Oleander: hi Robbin
Eliza Madrigal: Have you been to Play as Being before? I think I remember your name
Robbin Roelofs: i was here before
Eliza Madrigal: ah, great... so you know about the recording of these sessions?
    Robbin Roelofs: yes i know:-)
    Eliza Madrigal: :) Thanks

druth Vlodovic: I guess a problem with filling blind spots is when the covering method attains a sort of moral force
    Eliza Madrigal: coercion?
    Bleu Oleander: http://faculty.washington.edu/chudler/chvision.html
    druth Vlodovic: "usually" becomes "should"
    Eliza Madrigal: indeed
Eliza Madrigal: unquestioned for antiquated reasons
    Eliza Madrigal clicks
druth Vlodovic: maybe this is why "straightening hooks" makes us less unhappy
    Eliza Madrigal: straightening hooks?
druth Vlodovic: fewer should nots to bother us

    Eliza Madrigal: loosening rulesness
Eliza Madrigal: for something more alive

druth Vlodovic: umm, removing emotional attachment to things
Eliza Madrigal: :)) yes took me a moment, nice expression
druth Vlodovic: it's not even hooks you know, we simply hold on to the chains that "bind" us
    Robbin Roelofs: crash
druth Vlodovic: it only feels like drawing out hooks :)
    Eliza Madrigal: welcome back Robbin

Alfred Kelberry: oh, bleu. why is it that scripts are not allowed for the exhibits?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: wb robbin
Bleu Oleander: just part of the challenge boxy
    Bleu Oleander: keeping happiness "simple"
druth Vlodovic: expression without gimmicks :)
Bleu Oleander: amazing how much you can say with very little
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: that is the puzzle of relationships too.. the drawings or un-drawings of limits and freedoms
    Eliza Madrigal: ever changing

Eliza Madrigal: Robbin what are you interested in in SL if I may ask?
Robbin Roelofs: i had a galary once
Robbin Roelofs: i'm a painter in rl
    Eliza Madrigal: ah, nice
Robbin Roelofs: but i like discuss all kind of things
    Alfred Kelberry: galary in sl?
    Robbin Roelofs: yes
Eliza Madrigal: you have been in SL a long while... seeing your profile
Bleu Oleander: what are your paintings like?
Robbin Roelofs: i sell my paintings in a rl galary
Alfred Kelberry: are you a painter?
Robbin Roelofs: i'm a photo realistic painter
Alfred Kelberry: oh, wait! you're the dutch guy who draw the crate of wine? :)
    Robbin Roelofs: yes i am:-)
    Alfred Kelberry: tada!
    Robbin Roelofs: lol
Alfred Kelberry: nice to have you back
    Bleu Oleander: boxy :)

Alfred Kelberry: what brought you back to sl?
    Robbin Roelofs: a girl:-)))))
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
Alfred Kelberry: ah, those girls... :)
Eliza Madrigal: I remember your painting... yes very nice
    Robbin Roelofs: yes i know:-)
    Bleu Oleander: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)) ty Boxy

Robbin Roelofs: i paint mostly stilllifes but they are boring me now
    Eliza Madrigal: we change :)

druth Vlodovic: I swear I've seen that before, but I can't tell you where
Eliza Madrigal: one of my biggest delights is watching the progressions and transformations of my friend genie's art work... she is so open and each turn and opening she shares...
Eliza Madrigal: and takes wild turns I couldn't have seen coming
Eliza Madrigal: she has an amazing life story, and painting saved her life really

Robbin Roelofs: please i feel not how must i say it , comfortable when some one show my painting:-)

Robbin Roelofs: dont know the right word
Bleu Oleander: must go ... take care everyone :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye bleu
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Bleu :) thanks
Yakuzza Lethecus: i even had ur picture in my inventory robbin :)
Eliza Madrigal: Robbin do you mean you feel comfortable or uncomfortable?
Alfred Kelberry: is your gf in sl too?
    Robbin Roelofs: uncomfortable
Robbin Roelofs: yes she is on s l too
druth Vlodovic: lol, me too, I took you to thothica once and you set up a bunch near the fire, yes?
Robbin Roelofs: she just came online
druth Vlodovic: that was a long time ago

Eliza Madrigal: maybe she'd like to meet us... we can hear all about your romance:))
Alfred Kelberry: rob, invite her to join us :)
    Robbin Roelofs: lol
Eliza Madrigal likes to hear love stories
Robbin Roelofs: she speaks very bad english
Eliza Madrigal: in any language :))
Alfred Kelberry: i think rob captured her heart with the crate painting :)
Robbin Roelofs: sorry i have to go, she gave me a tp
    druth Vlodovic: ok, have fun
Robbin Roelofs: i will come back
Eliza Madrigal: maybe with the shyness... hard to resist
    Robbin Roelofs: once................
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye robbin
    Robbin Roelofs: bye bye'
Eliza Madrigal: OK, Bye Robbin, be well

Eliza Madrigal: OK so someone else can tell a love story
    Eliza Madrigal grins
Alfred Kelberry: once upon a time, one brave robo pup met a girl named eliza... :)
druth Vlodovic: all I know are tragedies :) better to only tell the first half of a love story
    Eliza Madrigal: hahah
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
    Alfred Kelberry: ;)
Eliza Madrigal: oh druth but that's why there are so many bad endings perhaps.. so many first half tellings
Eliza Madrigal: prince arrives... the end

Alfred Kelberry: i appreciate bad endings in the movies
druth Vlodovic: I like bad movies with good endings
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
    Eliza Madrigal thinks about that
Alfred Kelberry: i also like movies without an ending
    Eliza Madrigal nods
Eliza Madrigal: not too many things in life can be tidied up with a bow ultimately... always ending and always ongoing
Yakuzza Lethecus watches too many movies with all kinds of of good and bad endings
    Alfred Kelberry: yaku :)

Alfred Kelberry: *misses the film buff workshop by gaya*
Eliza Madrigal: yes that was interesting for a bit
druth Vlodovic: "this isn't the end, because nothing really ends" -the wizard guy from "the last unicorn"
    Alfred Kelberry: she left us...
Yakuzza Lethecus: at least there were also more cultural movies discussed, i liked ,,a serious man"
    Alfred Kelberry: *sheds a tear*
Yakuzza Lethecus: wouldn´t have watched it otherwise i guess
druth Vlodovic: gaya doesn't come by anymore?
    Eliza Madrigal: mmmm
    Alfred Kelberry: no
    druth Vlodovic: why not?
    Eliza Madrigal: busy bunny
Alfred Kelberry: i think last time i saw her was... at least a year ago
Alfred Kelberry: or it may seem this way
    Eliza Madrigal: life patterns change
Eliza Madrigal: sometimes encouraged by events I guess or opportunities

druth Vlodovic: people talk about how fast life goes in SL, which is odd because we spend so much more time in RL
    Alfred Kelberry: next sunday
druth Vlodovic: I suspect it's the distance allows us to grow so much faster
Eliza Madrigal: time here can feel more intense though... such direct interactions at times
druth Vlodovic: who the heck is red ribbon?
Eliza Madrigal: so it draws from one in a certain very differnt way
Eliza Madrigal: what was the last film everyone saw?
    Alfred Kelberry: a new guardian
    Yakuzza Lethecus: Hugo
Eliza Madrigal: Ohh the ribbon is around the pavilion Druth :))
Alfred Kelberry: present on all sessions
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
Alfred Kelberry: yaku, i want to see this one
Eliza Madrigal: It is a clever Boxy invention
druth Vlodovic: ah, I thought we were being spammed, this is the random topic generator thing?
    Eliza Madrigal: a new variation
Eliza Madrigal: with a few twists
Alfred Kelberry: oh, the last movie i watched was the dangerous method - very good

    yaku and eliza_004.png

    Eliza Madrigal: Hello Luci :))
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey luci
    Alfred Kelberry: luci :)
Eliza Madrigal: haven't heard of dangerous method, hm
Eliza Madrigal: but Hugo does look good
Lucinda Lavender: Hi Eliza, Yaku, Druth, boxy
    druth Vlodovic: hi luci
Alfred Kelberry: eliza, jung, freud, and a russian girl :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1571222/
druth Vlodovic: "sucker punch" is more my speed :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: :)

Lucinda Lavender: lovely hummingbird moment here
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Eliza Madrigal: who would like one? the hummingbirds...
    Yakuzza Lethecus raises his hand
    Lucinda Lavender: not sure...
druth Vlodovic: I can always use with more ways to annoy people :)
druth Vlodovic: (not that they are annoying, they are actually quite nice)

Alfred Kelberry: what's a hummingbird moment?
Lucinda Lavender: well the air was full of them

    Lucinda Lavender: love them:)
Eliza Madrigal: me too... so rare the catch glimpses they are so fast
druth Vlodovic: standing still by dint of great effort lol

Lucinda Lavender: saw one just the otherday from the window of my school
druth Vlodovic: they are amazing to watch
Lucinda Lavender: the one I saw was poised on a branch
druth Vlodovic: they just sort of hang from their wings, and dart in odd directions
Lucinda Lavender: of a tree about to bloom
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Lucinda Lavender: the air was full of a certain perfume from the tree
    Eliza Madrigal: mmm
Lucinda Lavender: I thought it was a hummingbird

Eliza Madrigal wonders if tulip trees have fragrance
    Lucinda Lavender: sounds likely
Eliza Madrigal: Id never heard of them before Aph sketched one and put it in the 99 days
Lucinda Lavender: maybe I missed that...
Lucinda Lavender: I have seen those trees where I live...and the bloom os purplish andlighter
    Eliza Madrigal: http://bit.ly/z8eIHL

Eliza Madrigal: I have to get going.. kids are waking up (holiday here)
Lucinda Lavender: ah I remember now
    Yakuzza Lethecus: take care eliza
    druth Vlodovic: have fun eliza
Lucinda Lavender: have a great day eliza:)
Eliza Madrigal: thanks for an interesting session... much to consider actually from quite a few angles
Eliza Madrigal: and lovely company :))
    Eliza Madrigal: <3 bye

druth Vlodovic: everything looks more interesting upside down and backwards :)
    Eliza Madrigal: hahaha
    Lucinda Lavender: <3
    druth Vlodovic: I'm off too
druth Vlodovic: "family day" so it behooves me to go remember what my family looks like
    Lucinda Lavender: :))
Yakuzza Lethecus: bye druth, have a great day
Lucinda Lavender: go look in their eyes
    druth Vlodovic: have fun guys

Lucinda Lavender: have a great day Yaku:)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye you two
    Yakuzza Lethecus: thx
Lucinda Lavender: tell me about the painting...
    Alfred Kelberry: oh, sorry
    Alfred Kelberry: i'm away :)
    Lucinda Lavender: :)
Alfred Kelberry: it's done by the dutch guy - rob
    Lucinda Lavender: interesting painting
Alfred Kelberry: he gave it to me the first time we met here... a year ago maybe
Alfred Kelberry: and he visited again today :)

Lucinda Lavender: transitory nature of wine bottles me thinks
    Lucinda Lavender: interesting
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Alfred Kelberry: are you celebrating the family day?
Lucinda Lavender: well I am off today but not my husband:(
Lucinda Lavender: many people are off for the preseidents day
    Alfred Kelberry: ah
Alfred Kelberry: right, you're not in canada :)
    Lucinda Lavender: right..
    Alfred Kelberry: hens doing well?
Lucinda Lavender: is it celebrated in canada as a family day?
Lucinda Lavender: oh hens are great...4 eggs yesterday

Lucinda Lavender: I took the photos of each individually yesterday
Lucinda Lavender: just have to get them on to my computer

Lucinda Lavender: forget how to upload them so you can see
Lucinda Lavender: could you coach me ?
    Alfred Kelberry: yes, new holiday
    Alfred Kelberry: oh, great!
    Alfred Kelberry: finally
Alfred Kelberry: well, you can try imgur.com
    Alfred Kelberry: upload them there
    Alfred Kelberry: or use dropbox.com
Alfred Kelberry: you can share a folder with pictures online
Alfred Kelberry: dropbox would be better for many pics
Alfred Kelberry: imgur is fine if you want quickly to share a few
    Lucinda Lavender: cool
Lucinda Lavender: I just have 5
Alfred Kelberry: well, dropbox is useful
Alfred Kelberry: sing up anyway :)
    Lucinda Lavender: ok
Lucinda Lavender: had heard about dropbox
Lucinda Lavender: then do you just put the dropbox url in to view the picture?

Alfred Kelberry: no, you install a program fro mdropbox
Alfred Kelberry: select the dropbox folder that you want to be synced online
Lucinda Lavender: am doing so now
Alfred Kelberry: then copy files there
    Lucinda Lavender: ah ok
Alfred Kelberry: then login to their site and it has a button or link to share it
Alfred Kelberry: it will create a special url that you can then send out to whoever you want to see them
    Lucinda Lavender: ok:) thanks
Lucinda Lavender: should I choose where the folder is located and which folders will be synched?
    Lucinda Lavender: it asks me...
    Lucinda Lavender: getting closer
Lucinda Lavender: I have placed the photos in the dropbox folder

    Alfred Kelberry: :)
    Alfred Kelberry: good
Lucinda Lavender: now I just have to get the shared folder to work...what address should I send to
    Alfred Kelberry: im me :)
    Lucinda Lavender: oops

Eliza Madrigal: you guys are still here I see
Eliza Madrigal: wondered about the log :)
Lucinda Lavender: I am working on making a dropbox
Eliza Madrigal: oh, is it okay if I stop the recording now?
    Lucinda Lavender: please do:)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)) Thanks
