stevenaia Michinaga: yes, things have been changing lately
stevenaia Michinaga: I'll wait as long as I can to dress for qwinter
    stevenaia Michinaga: winter
stevenaia Michinaga: have you gone off to a far off land?
Calvino Rabeni: I do that .. wear shorts and t-shirt as long as possible in the fall
Calvino Rabeni: not yet, thanks! but it's feeling more immanent
stevenaia Michinaga: was suprised how much heat you can generate in the cold by racking leaves
    stevenaia Michinaga: raking
    Calvino Rabeni: nods
    stevenaia Michinaga: hi Luci
Calvino Rabeni: it seems out of fashion here .. I was biking through long stretches of large wet leaves, very colorful
Calvino Rabeni: I was tempted to bring a rake and do the street and driveways
Calvino Rabeni: just to see how big a pile would mount up
    Calvino Rabeni: Hi Cinda
stevenaia Michinaga: remembers jumping into leaf piles in my youth
    Lucinda Lavender: hi cal

    Calvino Rabeni: Got Leaves, Cinda?
    Lucinda Lavender: yep...
    Lucinda Lavender: lots of them
Lucinda Lavender: I did other things today
Lucinda Lavender: left the leaves alone
Lucinda Lavender: went to see my friend who is a nun at the temple
    stevenaia Michinaga: Buddist nun

Calvino Rabeni: Good evening Paradise !
stevenaia Michinaga: we were talking of the change of seasons, colored leaves
Lucinda Lavender: some leaves are so intense
    Lucinda Lavender: so bright
    stevenaia Michinaga: and so many
Lucinda Lavender: and others much slower to change
Calvino Rabeni: there are places where they get compressed into a collage by the right amount of car traffic
Paradise Tennant: smiles a pavement rainbow
Calvino Rabeni: there is something relaxing and exciting at the same time by the randomness plus orderliness of leaf fall
    Calvino Rabeni: yes so colorful
    Lucinda Lavender: overything moving around
    Lucinda Lavender: everything:)
Lucinda Lavender: I think I feel too tire to be here now

stevenaia Michinaga: should call it my PaB tea
stevenaia Michinaga: wakes me up in time for the next session
Paradise Tennant: yes I am having rooibois
    Paradise Tennant: rooibos
Calvino Rabeni: That might be a good thing to do in the sleep in-between hours
    stevenaia Michinaga: brb
Calvino Rabeni: maybe .. if one could arrange the computer to slowwwwly turn on and slowwwly fade in the pavilion setting
Calvino Rabeni: and not show any icons or to-do lists or emails
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Paradise Tennant: if it could attune to are ability to "do"
Calvino Rabeni: I wonder if anyone has set up their software for such consciousness-friendly transitions
Calvino Rabeni: to account for the time and the ambiance
Calvino Rabeni: if it could attune, it would need to attune to the variety of rhythms and qualities of our "doing"

Calvino Rabeni: like that time before dawn when you aren't sure it's starting to be dawn yet
Paradise Tennant: yes sort just a splatch of light could be the moon .. still
Paradise Tennant: how is mitzi doing cal ? have not seen her is such a long time ?
Calvino Rabeni: I haven't either, but a few months back she messaged to say she was doing well, quite busy. The things she does take a lot of time and attention.
Calvino Rabeni: She's a bit of a go-getter if you know what I mean, getting a bit overextended out of pure enthusiasm
Paradise Tennant: yes very sparky :))
    stevenaia Michinaga: back
    Calvino Rabeni: WB
    stevenaia Michinaga: sorry
    Paradise Tennant: smiles :) wb
    stevenaia Michinaga: ty
Calvino Rabeni: How are the disaster areas doing lately?
Paradise Tennant: lower manhattan got power today .. lots of very happy people there :)
stevenaia Michinaga: most of my friends who didn;t have power now do, she offered the linemen from Louisiana hot chocolate
    Calvino Rabeni: wonderful
stevenaia Michinaga: then 3 of their other trucks showed up heard there was great hot chocolate available
    Calvino Rabeni: that's celebratory
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, they have been working long and hard, 18 hr days
    stevenaia Michinaga: 16
    Calvino Rabeni: cleanup ?
    stevenaia Michinaga: wiring
stevenaia Michinaga: my neighbor took care of the tree that fell across my yard the morning after, a 60' pine
    stevenaia Michinaga: (his tree)
Calvino Rabeni: ah .. I saw a picture, I think. white house?
Paradise Tennant: yes saw the picture so lucky if fell away from the house
stevenaia Michinaga: my house (it missed)
stevenaia Michinaga: was amazed at the many roots of trees that gor exposed, always thought they went deeper
Calvino Rabeni: nods, there are some of those around here
Calvino Rabeni: not going to be taken out, as they are on public land
Calvino Rabeni: (this isn't east coast, but occasionally has a strong storm)
Calvino Rabeni: there was a poplar with about 5 foot diameter, next to the house, they took out as a preventative measure
    stevenaia Michinaga: trees do fall
Calvino Rabeni: people forget to keep track of their state of health
stevenaia Michinaga: that's a large poplar
Calvino Rabeni: yes, and reaching the end of its span
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, and insurance companies don;t pay for maintaince, but will pay for what it crushes
    Calvino Rabeni: yes oops
stevenaia Michinaga: HMO for trees needed
Calvino Rabeni: I think it's in the chat log, a couple years back, the real-time event of a large tree falling on the power lines up the street
Calvino Rabeni: like "hey, what was that explosion!?? I'll be right back"

    stevenaia Michinaga: wow
stevenaia Michinaga: time to turn in
    stevenaia Michinaga: night my friends
Paradise Tennant: nite nite stev :)
