    stevenaia Michinaga: greetings Storm
stevenaia Michinaga: nice of you to Join me
    Storm Nordwind: Good evening :)
Storm Nordwind: A little late, but you were all alone.
stevenaia Michinaga: nods, no problem, these are the moment for that sometimes, but always nice to have company
    Storm Nordwind: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: very excited about your new "link" construction, between the lands, what are your plans
stevenaia Michinaga: a path, a bridge in the sky?
Storm Nordwind: Well, I have put down a couple of platforms, forming a 64m x 128m, at 900m over the Kuan Yin Terraces
Storm Nordwind: We'll join them to the main complex - theater, cake gardens etc - with a bridge
stevenaia Michinaga: nice, I just installed the "C" version of the PaB HUD, I see no images, is that coming?
Storm Nordwind: And I'm intending to put some library facilities there, the exact nature of which can evolve according to need and community opinion. And maybe there will be other areas for book club discussions etc
Storm Nordwind: The C version does not have images
    --BELL--
Storm Nordwind: I have a test 3.7 version with pictures, and it's delightful, but it still needs some fleshing out.
stevenaia Michinaga: sounds interesting, can't wait
Storm Nordwind: I think everyone will like it
Storm Nordwind: Someone asked me what I'd be calling the Library area.
Storm Nordwind: Of course, there's always "Library". ;-)
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: what else, Archive?
Storm Nordwind: Oh there are all sorts of possibilities.
    Storm Nordwind: Bibliothèque
stevenaia Michinaga: nods, perhaps we should name it after Pema
    Storm Nordwind: Nice idea
    Storm Nordwind: Someone suggested Bibliotheca
    Storm Nordwind: Pabiblio
    Storm Nordwind shrugs
    Storm Nordwind: We'll see
Storm Nordwind: More important is what people would like there
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, the possibilities could be crushing
Storm Nordwind: We have a lot of prims available, so no problem there.
stevenaia Michinaga: are you looking at more then the PaB wiki?
Storm Nordwind: But do we include, for example, lots of stuff from the website, like the Chronicles
Storm Nordwind: It's possible. Public domain books for example.
Storm Nordwind: I should start an all-member thread on email and see if there are requirements or ideas.
stevenaia Michinaga: I am amazed when ppl leave SL laptops around and the browsers on the screen are functional
    Storm Nordwind: Yes.
stevenaia Michinaga: assumes those screens can be anysize
    Storm Nordwind: They can.
stevenaia Michinaga: can you limit what is accessible?
Storm Nordwind: I could do that but that would have to be a section outside the Kuan Yin Terraces, perhaps in the annex at the end of the bridge
Storm Nordwind: Yes you can limit by providing presets only and links from within presets
stevenaia Michinaga: type on one Kuan Yin Terrace and the screen be on this side
Storm Nordwind: If we did that (like I say at the entrance to the Terraces but not in them) we'd have to ask you to set up a few things on the About Land for the Annex plot of land
Storm Nordwind: Could do that yes
stevenaia Michinaga: not a problem, as long as I have step by step directions :)
Storm Nordwind: Hehe! I was used to doing that with Pema!
stevenaia Michinaga: you can be my puppeteer
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Storm Nordwind: I promise not to tangle your strings :)
stevenaia Michinaga: I am eternally tangled
    --BELL--
stevenaia Michinaga: brb, need to fetch my power cord
    Storm Nordwind: k
    stevenaia Michinaga: back
    Storm Nordwind: welcome back
    stevenaia Michinaga: all better
Storm Nordwind: I've been visiting other libraries in SL. Surprisingly few compared to what there used to be,
stevenaia Michinaga: the unfrtunate thing about this media, things can just dissappear
Storm Nordwind: Yes. An archaeologist will turn up nothing
Storm Nordwind: So we look for clues on the web, if we really want to
stevenaia Michinaga: assuming the web will be accessible... then
    Storm Nordwind smiles
stevenaia Michinaga: we can bearly read some sumarian texts and they are just a few millenium old
Storm Nordwind: Aaaaahhh... then clearly trace of any even older civilizations sponsored by aliens will have definitely disappeared ;)
Storm Nordwind: There is an exhibition of Dead Sea Scrolls here at the moment in Denver
Storm Nordwind: I doubt I shall go
stevenaia Michinaga: much of it is online
Storm Nordwind: Yes. And my laziness is always online. :)
stevenaia Michinaga: I often go to museums to see "old things" just to ponder the past
Storm Nordwind: Yes. I like good museums like that. Used to seek them out. Some favorites, like the enormous British Museum in London, which is free (as most British museums are).
    --BELL--
Storm Nordwind: I remember visiting Zealand, part of the Netherlands. I visited the wonderful Middelburg museum and bought a childrens story book written about the subject I was researching. Sadly the book was in Dutch. But one of the kind museum staff translated it for me while I was at lunch! :))
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: what was the topic?
stevenaia Michinaga: nice that people are so helpful
Storm Nordwind: It was about the goddess Nehalennia for was a local goddess worshiped 2200 years ago by Romans, Germans and Celts alike, And all the votive altars they put up for her along the sea shore.
    Storm Nordwind: *who was
stevenaia Michinaga: every goddess has a wiki page :)
Storm Nordwind: Indeed. And who knows, I may have written some of them! ;-)
    Storm Nordwind misspelled "Zeeland" before.
stevenaia Michinaga: I thank you for your company and look forward to your builds...
Storm Nordwind: The pleasure was mine :)
stevenaia Michinaga: see you Saturday, perhaps
Storm Nordwind: Yes. Bye for now
