Excerpts of discussions of the Stuttgart retreat, during recent PaB sessions
    2010

Sunday Oct 17 01:00 Feeling silence in all that chaos

Wol Euler: how are you today?
Qt Core: quite good, and you, after the retreat ?
Wol Euler: so far, so good :)
Wol Euler: keeping busy, which may help
Qt Core: there should be some study about PRS post retreat stress ;-)
Wol Euler: I hadn't thought about it before, but it is especially sad for the coordinator when a retreat ends
Wol Euler: because you stay still and the others go away from you
Wol Euler: I had dinner with Eos and Pema on friday night, and saw Pema to the train yesterday morning
Qt Core: and all the thought about what you wanted it to be and what it was (even if it went well)
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: it's over very suddenly and there is nothing to fill the space, not even travel
Qt Core: maybe, if you didn't take the pc with you you may have had a bunch of email/im to read as to come back online
    Qt Core: ;-)
    Wol Euler grins

Qt Core: thinking about the silence day in retreats, you are silent, but the rest of the workd isn't
    Wol Euler nods.
Wol Euler: and you become very aware of that
Wol Euler: have you ever done a silent day like this?
    Qt Core: no
Qt Core: and you probably end up trying to map the noise you listen

Sunday Oct 17 08:00 Guardian Meeting

Eliza Madrigal: Also, welcome back from retreat Eos!
Eliza Madrigal: Do you have a report for us? :)
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes Eos, wb

Eos Amaterasu: Saturday, Oct 23, at the 7 am session, the guardians who were at the Stuttgart retreat will be there to discuss the retreat
Eos Amaterasu: It was a great retreat, I think
    Agatha Macbeth makes a note
Eos Amaterasu: The group was basically a subset of the Malta retreat group
Eliza Madrigal: really looking forward to that session, hope to make it
Eos Amaterasu: 6 AVs out of the 10 who had been at Malta
Eos Amaterasu: so everyone had done at least one previous RL retreat
Eos Amaterasu: which did make a difference
Eos Amaterasu: we went deeper, further (where no AV had gone before :-)
    Eliza Madriga smiles
Zen Arado: hope you brought your humans along :)
Eos Amaterasu: Yes, we were embodied in RL forms :-)

Eliza Madrigal: So the discussions were easier to get into Eos, or was it the range?
Eos Amaterasu: Wol has started a retreat reports page
Eliza Madrigal: Wol's reflections are just wonderful, appreciate those
    Agatha Macbeth smiles

Eos Amaterasu: I think we were able to go more intensively into Being seeing, and into awaring from awareness (just made up the latter term)

Eliza Madrigal: really curious to hear about 'time space and awareness'
Eos Amaterasu: The place was wonderful: in the rolling German hills
Eliza Madrigal: hahah Awaring from awareness :)))
Eos Amaterasu: huge farm area, with big big sky, trees and forests around
Eos Amaterasu: Lia saw some deer; I saw what seemed to be quite a sizeable hare
    Eos Amaterasu: accomodations were quality
Eos Amaterasu: the room where we had our practice discussions reminded me of that room at the very end of 2001: A Space Odyssey

    Eos Amaterasu: high windows, light
Agatha Macbeth: Did it have a monolith? :p
    Eliza Madrigal: Ohhhh, nice
Eos Amaterasu: It's amazing how we can progress. I certainly felt that, as did others.
    Eliza Madrigal: progress... to where?
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Eos Amaterasu: aha!
    Zen Arado: :)
Eos Amaterasu: we did talk about enoughness, E!
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
Zen Arado: just came from a non duality meeting :)
Eliza Madrigal: but did you play as enoughness?
    Eliza Madrigal: heheh
    Eos Amaterasu: heh heh, yes
Storm Nordwind: Brings a new meaning to the idiom: "Enough already" perhaps? :)
Eos Amaterasu: we let our monkey minds frolic in the space between swinging vines
    Eliza Madrigal: Very nice, both
    Bleu Oleander: monkey minds?
Eliza Madrigal: Steve insists I was there.... so Im just going with that....
Agatha Macbeth: Yes, I was wondering too...
    stevenaia Michinaga: giggles
Eos Amaterasu: Wol has her report up already, plus of course she tweeted every day :-)
    Agatha Macbeth: Darwinian term? ;-)

Eos Amaterasu: Corvi and SophiaSharon have settled on a hotel for the Bourbon (I mean New Orleans urban) retreat
Eos Amaterasu: coming up January 23, full details shortly

Eliza Madrigal: monkey mind is the restless mind... the "I have to DO something" mind perhaps... the "where's the remote" mind...
    Agatha Macbeth: Indeed

    Paradise Tennant: nods okies

Eos Amaterasu: Wol hit a homer with this retreat :-)

    Agatha Macbeth: Bases loaded?
Eos Amaterasu hears the 15 minute bell
Eliza Madrigal: :) sounds that way
Eos Amaterasu: Only problem was the highly variable satellite internet access
    Storm Nordwind chuckles
Paradise Tennant: smiles well maybe .. part of the perfection the enoughness :)
Eliza Madrigal: which may have been a plus for the idea of 'retreat'?
    Paradise Tennant: nods
    Agatha Macbeth: Mmm
    Eliza Madrigal: Indeed Paradise!
Eos Amaterasu: Yes, Eliza. In fact Wol suggested including no internet on silent days
Eos Amaterasu: (for future retreats, if that's agreeable)
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Eliza Madrigal: seems like you all were very much in sync!
Zen Arado: can't imagine internet access at zen retreats
Agatha Macbeth: Might be a bit difficult to enforce in an urban retreat tho
Zen Arado: reading a book would be frowned upon
Eos Amaterasu: Just for the silent day
Eliza Madrigal: well... no enforcement in pab ... hehe
stevenaia Michinaga: hmmm enforcment on a retreat

    Agatha Macbeth: Ah, course...
Agatha Macbeth: 'No law is good law'
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, "to live above the law you must be honest" Bob Dylan as oft quoted by Eos
    Agatha Macbeth: Yay for Bobsie

Paradise Tennant: before we go eos can you share your most compelling memory of the retreat ..
Eos Amaterasu: big big sky, + people can and do exfoliate
    Eliza Madrigal: hahah....
    Eliza Madrigal: exfoliate...
    Eliza Madrigal: hm
Agatha Macbeth: 'Looking at the big sky'
    Eliza Madrigal is 'being puzzled'

    Sunday, Oct 17 13:00 - Toward Halloween Re-treats

Maxine Walden: hi, Yaku! How was the retreat?
Yakuzza Lethecus: it was really nice
    Maxine Walden: :) so glad!
Maxine Walden: looking forward to hearing about it...
Maxine Walden: tho it is difficult if not impossible to really share in words the personal experience, I imagine
Yakuzza Lethecus: i was a bit split in my thoughts since there were only ppl whom attended the retreat on malta already, but having less participants also created more depth
Yakuzza Lethecus: we´ve been talking about thoughts alot

Maxine Walden: care to say more about the retreat, Yaku?
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, i we´ve been talking about monkey´s alot and used that as a metaphor for unhelpful thoughts
    Maxine Walden: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: of course a lot of meditations with specific focus
Yakuzza Lethecus: like being seeing practices with objects around us and visualisations
Yakuzza Lethecus: having a small group really gave more depth to see everyone as a whole in more detail
Yakuzza Lethecus: at least that was my impression
Maxine Walden: yes, a small group does facilitate in depth focus

    Yakuzza Lethecus: hi eos
Maxine Walden: How was it for you? (difficult question, of course)
stevenaia Michinaga: in 130 characters, like Wol
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
    Maxine Walden: :)
    Eos Amaterasu: Retreat Reports
Eos Amaterasu: (that's less than 140 characters, I think)
Maxine Walden: :)) yes, did see Wol's report.
Eos Amaterasu: Sorry I missed Yaku's reporting
stevenaia Michinaga: TY eos, I don't use twitter enough
Eos Amaterasu: he was one of the stars of the retreat :-)
    Maxine Walden: :))
Eos Amaterasu: btw, there is now a consolidated email list for all participants of any previous RL retreat
    Maxine Walden: ah, interesting!
stevenaia Michinaga: how many are on it
Eos Amaterasu: we'll have to add links to sessions where retreatants are telling all
    Eos Amaterasu: 22, stevenaia
Maxine Walden: (maybe less than 130 characters, Steve)
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
    Eos Amaterasu: heh heh
Eos Amaterasu: when we have 140 characters at an RL retreat, that's called a retweet
    Maxine Walden: hahaha LOL
    stevenaia Michinaga: laughs

Yakuzza Lethecus: ah, i watched wol´s report and she covered it already
Yakuzza Lethecus: i was talking about the monkeys and being seeing
Yakuzza Lethecus: as well as the issue that i should take notes in order not to forget things :)
Eos Amaterasu: it's all Lia's fault - she showed up in a monkey t-shirt!
    Maxine Walden: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: when i read wol´s report it feels like a nice reminder of what happened :)
    Eos Amaterasu: Yes indeed!
Eos Amaterasu: We did the equivalent of walk and chew gum at the same time
stevenaia Michinaga: I was thinking a retreat scribe would be interesting to have
Eos Amaterasu: ie, practice while talking, discussing
Eos Amaterasu: let awareness be, and let awareness see, while yakking
    Maxine Walden: :)
Eos Amaterasu: (not just aimed at Yaku :-)
    Maxine Walden: haha
Eos Amaterasu ponders the notion of a retreat scribe
Bruce Mowbray: Believe it or not, there is a Zen tradition that does not meditate -- because they practice "awareness and presence" all the time.
Eos Amaterasu: indeed, if you can't be that way here, you're not being that way, are you?
Bruce Mowbray agrees with Eos on that.
Bruce Mowbray: Although I've never been to a PaB retreat, I understand there are periods of silence -- and meditation, also?
    stevenaia Michinaga: yes and discusion
Eos Amaterasu: Usually the middle day is a silent day
Eos Amaterasu: silent meaning no talking except for "functional talking" like "pass the (what's the german word for salt?)"
Bruce Mowbray: The middle day -- silent -- good "balance' for the retreat, that way.

Monday, October 18 01:00 - Shift key and plants

Susan Aloix: Bertram...Yaku told me about the retreat you were just on....sounded lovely
Bertram Jacobus: yeah - was great ! this morning i thought about it and that it stenghtens my awareness in a way , currently at least ...
Moon Fargis: :) to bad i couldnt come but i dont have even the money for the fuel
Susan Aloix: so wonderful Bertram.......i like hearing its strengthened your awareness
Susan Aloix: same......the fuel from australia to germany would kill me lol
Bertram Jacobus: aww - that´s really sad moon ! but may be in future we could also organize some local groups and meetings - you are not so far away from cologne ? do i remember that correctly ?
Bertram Jacobus: yes susan : we "worked" a lot with that point , awareness and how to have it in meditation as well as in every day actions ...
    Moon Fargis: bert: 370 km
Bertram Jacobus: whereas "have" is really not the right word - better to be able to be in contact with it perhaps ? :-)
Calvino Rabeni: I think it's great to bring some "work" into it ... which seems easier to do at the retreats

Bertram Jacobus: yes ! it is (!) - and the "work" consists simply in experimenting and doing it quite intensly, to give it some time, spend time with such topics ...
Bertram Jacobus: may be once there will be also be a pab retreat in australia ... :-)
Susan Aloix: i'm sure thats on the cards :)
Susan Aloix: are there other aussies who come to PAB/?
Bertram Jacobus: for me it was the second one and i can say both were very enjoyable yes helpful and nice ...

Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, her's is great and i don't know if i can tell even more
Eden Haiku: Oh yes, your point of view is unique!
Yakuzza Lethecus: so many impressions and wol covered everything in her verbalicious words
Eden Haiku: Verbalicious words you too Yaku!
Eden Haiku: Just write it down the way it comes to you...

Monday, October 18 13:00 - Mic's Mike and short Retreats

arabella Ella: Wol I would just like to say I really enjoyed reading your log for the retreat thank you so much for sharing it with us in such a lovely way!
    Agatha Macbeth nods
Wol Euler: oh thank you :)
    Wol Euler: I'm pleased.

Mickorod Renard: I can make the assissi one
Mickorod Renard: but nobody talks about it
    Wol Euler: we did :)
arabella Ella: ah Mick the details will be out now that Stuttgart is over
arabella Ella: you need to be less impatient :)
Mickorod Renard: I am getting suspicious that perhaps noone wants me to go on it :)
    arabella Ella: LOL
    Wol Euler: awwwwww

Mickorod Renard: are you going to Assisi Wol?
Wol Euler: very unlikely, mick, sad to say
Agatha Macbeth: St Francis will miss you
Wol Euler: I will definitely go to Nova Scotia again
    Storm Nordwind chuckles
    Wol Euler: :)
Mickorod Renard: I felt quite sad that i couldn't get outa work for the stutgard one
    Wol Euler nods
Wol Euler: we talked about all the missing pabonauts :)
arabella Ella: yes i am sure more people would love to attend the retreats but the dates and cost are also factors plus other personal stuff of course
Wol Euler: well, there are moves afoot to deal with that, ara.
    arabella Ella: oh good
Wol Euler: nothing definite yet, but we were talking about nine hour retreats
Wol Euler: in the tradition of nine second meditations :)
Wol Euler: from noon Saturday to noon Sunday

Mickorod Renard: ohh,,i was hoping u were going to say that we didnt have to work any more
    Wol Euler: heh
    Darren Islar: :)
Wol Euler: I can say it, sure, but that won't actually help much
Agatha Macbeth: Works for me [grin]
    Mickorod Renard: :(
Mickorod Renard: retirement retreat sounds better
    arabella Ella: nice idea
arabella Ella: (to both Mick and Wol)
Agatha Macbeth: Maybe Zen will organise one...
arabella Ella: a weekend retreat in Rome would suit me fine :)
Mickorod Renard: mm,,,when in rome and all that

Darren Islar: those 9 hours retreat are going to take place in rl?
Agatha Macbeth: What is it with the number 9?
Wol Euler: oh yes, sorry, more diffferent RL retreats

Darren Islar: those 9 hours retreat are going to take place in rl?
Agatha Macbeth: What is it with the number 9?
Wol Euler: oh yes, sorry, more diffferent RL retreats
Darren Islar: in a way that makes it more expensive
Mickorod Renard: nine comes after 4,,that makes it wierd
Darren Islar: though it works better for the ones having a job
Agatha Macbeth: And after 7 too :)
    Mickorod Renard: yea
    Wol Euler: and families
    Storm Nordwind: And pie
Wol Euler: and general laziness too
    Agatha Macbeth grins @ Storm
    Mickorod Renard: :)
    Wol Euler coughs
arabella Ella: i suppose it depends on how far one must travel Darren as some low cost airlines have good deals
Agatha Macbeth pats Wol on the back
    Wol Euler: :)
Mickorod Renard: yes, especially if you have no luggage
Agatha Macbeth: No luggage = HEAVEN
    Darren Islar: true Ara
Darren Islar: I need to go
Mickorod Renard: I bet assisi will be cold, as its during easter

arabella Ella: well Mick you never know about the weather as Easter can sometimes be really nice in Italy
    Agatha Macbeth: Whereabouts is Assisi?
arabella Ella: actually Easter can be one of the nicest times of the year for travelling
    Mickorod Renard: north of florence

    Tuesday October 19 07:00 - Tuesday Morning

Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bert and Ya :)
Eliza Madrigal: Is it funny to be talking in SL after spending a week in RL together?
Bertram Jacobus: hehe ... let me think about it ... ;-)
Bertram Jacobus: "funny" - hmmm ;-)
Yakuzza Lethecus: actually i came back into my regular rythm very fast
Bertram Jacobus: hi bruce ! :-)
Yakuzza Lethecus: even tho i would like to preserve the feeling of last week a bit longer
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey bruce
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bruce :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: i felt the transition even before i left the retreatplace
Bruce Mowbray: Hello, Eliza, Yaku, and Bert.
Yakuzza Lethecus: i started thinking of the theatreplay where i had to help out and the 4 hrs drivingtime
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey bruce
Eliza Madrigal: I find retreat sneaky Ya... that even several weeks after there are benefits
    Eliza Madrigal: theatre play?
Bertram Jacobus: for me, it´s so to say "mixed" now with the first life experiences eliza - and that was also already the case after the malta retreat ... :-9
Yakuzza Lethecus: ah, for the slanguages conference a few friends of mine had to play an act and they haven´t had enough actors so i helped out last friday
Eliza Madrigal: Oh! That's awesome Ya
    Yakuzza Lethecus: berthold brecht ,,baal"
Yakuzza Lethecus: at least 2 acts
Eliza Madrigal: No more shell for you, Ya :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Bert, mixed?
Bertram Jacobus: yes sl and first life experiences are in my associations now eliza
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, so there isn't any more feeling of gap at all?

    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bertram Jacobus: ah : i don´t have that in general : net encounterings and first life always are very much linked for me and also often i meet people i met first in the net. i like that. simply a new sort of communication. like telephone for example. i don´t feel a lack with that too. at least not neccesairily ...
    Eliza Madrigal: Nice!
    Bertram Jacobus: yes ! :-)
Eliza Madrigal: a friendly view of the world :)
Bertram Jacobus: a happy one, a lucky one. i´m thankful that i can / may see and feel it that way
Eliza Madrigal: No arguing with that! :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
    Bertram Jacobus: :-)
Eliza Madrigal: I had a funny RL/SL overlap moment last weekend...
    Bruce Mowbray listens.
Eliza Madrigal: My daughter and I were walking around an outdoor mall area, and walked into a Halloween store...
Eliza Madrigal: We were playing with various props and things and I found a bowler hat...
Eliza Madrigal: I put it on, and immediately felt like....
    Eliza Madrigal: BLEU!
    Bertram Jacobus: lol
    Bruce Mowbray: ha!
Eliza Madrigal: I felt like I was dressed in sky....
Eliza Madrigal: and should have been holding an apple :)
Eliza Madrigal: It was a little trippy
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
Bertram Jacobus: sometimes i experience similar things - but sadly don´t remember an example at the moment ...
Eliza Madrigal: It is one of those "Am I dreaming?" moments
    Bertram Jacobus: :-)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey bleu
    Eliza Madrigal: Bleu!
    Yakuzza Lethecus: where ?
Eliza Madrigal: Oh... you said hey bleu...
    Eliza Madrigal: haha
    Yakuzza Lethecus: lol

Eliza Madrigal: I sent Bleu an IM of my story just now...
Eliza Madrigal: Retreats have that same feeling... funny boundaries and overlaps
Bertram Jacobus: you have experiences with retreats eliza ?
Eliza Madrigal: Just with the few PaB retreats I've attended
Bertram Jacobus: ah yes. silly me
Eliza Madrigal: I'm not sure about other sorts of retreats sans the SL element
Bertram Jacobus: "one never can be sure" i think ... ;-)
Eliza Madrigal: but it is funny when you are sitting with RL person and seeing not only that image but also their av image
Bertram Jacobus: oh yes ! i see. didn´t have that very much
    Eliza Madrigal: no?
Bertram Jacobus: no. only very little, few
Eliza Madrigal: interesting to compare notes
Bertram Jacobus: what means "notes" in this context plz ?
    Eliza Madrigal: Oh, compare experiences
    Eliza Madrigal: perceptions
    Eliza Madrigal: views :)

Tuesday October 19 13:00 From the Left and Behind

Wol Euler: Zon, you seem to be wearing a rather large clock :)

Wol Euler: sorry, IM-ing with Eliza about retreats
    Eliza Madrigal looks innocent
Bruce Mowbray: Happy to be here ‑‑ Is this a theme session?
Wol Euler: do you have a theme? :‑P
    Eliza Madrigal giggles
Wol Euler: perhaps "happy to be here" could be a theme
Eliza Madrigal: The theme session for the retreat is Saturday
    Eliza Madrigal: 7AM
    Wol Euler remembers Garrison Keillor
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I thought that was Saturday ‑‑‑ so is Prairie Home Companion, as I recall.
    Wol Euler: right :)
Wol Euler: Saturday 7am, the retreat reports
Eliza Madrigal: Sunday here for PHC, Saturday is Wait Wait Don't Tell Me :)

Wol Euler: we do silent days at our retreats. They are my favourite part of the week.
    Bruce Mowbray: ah well.
Bruce Mowbray: Living as a hermit, most of my days are "silent."
    Wol Euler: well, yes :)
Alfred Kelberry: Woly broke something? :)
Bruce Mowbray: but I talk to the plants and animals, of course.
Alfred Kelberry: Bruce, I'm sure they appreciate it :)
Wol Euler: I noticed that I spent several hours on the Internet during my "silent day", and felt that this was wrong *for me*
    Alfred Kelberry: why?
Wol Euler: so I've decided to make that "no communication" not just "no talking" at my next retreat
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, I read what you wrote about that, Wol.
    Alfred Kelberry: :/
    Alfred Kelberry: puzzles
Darren Islar: I think you're right Wol
Bruce Mowbray: I thought a lot about it ‑‑ and applied it to my own life.
Bruce Mowbray: and wondered how I would feel about doing that at a retreat.

Wol Euler: well, the point of the silence is to listen to what's in you, not what comes out of you.
Alfred Kelberry: Woly, do you mean you practice silence on the retreat?
Wol Euler: Alf, we have a silent day during the retreat, which usually means "no talking"
Wol Euler: *I* found that my Internet use interrupted *my* experience of silence.
Wol Euler: others may have felt differently, that's fine.
Wol Euler: I'm not speaking for anyone but myself

Agatha Macbeth: Any post‑retreat effects to report?
Wol Euler: not yet, but I know they'll come.
Wol Euler: I am missing it, missing having the time to sit and contemplate
Wol Euler: or so it seems
Wol Euler: again, I have the time. I just use it differently
    Agatha Macbeth: Yes
Wol Euler: there are not fewer hours in these days than a week ago
Agatha Macbeth: But the hours are differently spent
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Wol Euler: I did notice one thing right away, though.
    Agatha Macbeth: ?
Wol Euler: being coordinator has one really strong negative side to it:
Wol Euler: at the end of the retreat, you stand still while everyone walks away from you.
Wol Euler: you don't even have travelling to look forward to
    Agatha Macbeth: Ah, yes
Wol Euler: I hadn't thought about that before.
Agatha Macbeth: How did you return ‑ by train?
Wol Euler: yes, with Pema and Eos. We had dinner together, then on Saturday Eos took a two‑hours‑before‑crack‑of‑dawn train to the airport
Wol Euler: Pema and I had breakfast, then I put him on his train home
Wol Euler: (train to the airport, that is)
Agatha Macbeth: Still, you pulled it off ‑ quite an accomplishment
Wol Euler: people seem to have been pleased. which pleases me
    Agatha Macbeth: Absoulutely
Agatha Macbeth: With too many u's
    Wol Euler: :)

Tuesday October 19 19:00 Phreatic Being

stevenaia Michinaga: has the retreat made an impression on you?
Eos Amaterasu: Yes, the retreat felt somewhat concentrated
Eos Amaterasu: Maybe it was because all 6 participants had been at Malta, and so at at least one previous retreat
stevenaia Michinaga: nods, an nice continuation
Eos Amaterasu: the room we did our sessions in had a feeling like that room at the very end of the 2001: A Space Odyssey movie
stevenaia Michinaga: you mentined that, in wht sense?
Eos Amaterasu: high windows, very white, lots of light
    stevenaia Michinaga: aww, ornate
    stevenaia Michinaga: not futuristic
Eos Amaterasu: and some quality of being out of time
    Eos Amaterasu: or timeless
Eos Amaterasu: it was both the room in Stuttgart, and the 2001 room
stevenaia Michinaga: never thought of that movie as the past, at the time it was a movie of the future
    stevenaia Michinaga: plays with time
Eos Amaterasu: yes.... that room was in some sort of indeterminate time, though it felt like the future to me
stevenaia Michinaga: how did that add or subtract for the sessiosn, so used to have them occur here
Eos Amaterasu: the play of SL time together and RL time together is an interesting factor
Eos Amaterasu: I think some of us felt we could go a bit deeper, for example into the Being side of things (as with Being Seeing)
Eos Amaterasu: exploring that both together "in session" and out on walks, in the forest and under the big big sky
Eos Amaterasu: in the woods there can be more a sense of "being seen"
stevenaia Michinaga: nice how walks in nature quiets and focuses the mind
    Eos Amaterasu: yes
Eos Amaterasu: I think the environment here can do likewise
Eos Amaterasu: Let's try Being seeing in the next 90 secs
    stevenaia Michinaga: kk
Eos Amaterasu: ie, flip from me seeing, to being seeing me and my world

    --BELL--

stevenaia Michinaga: one moment, there was something in wol's log that came to mind
stevenaia Michinaga: " try to appreciate myself as the object of its awareness."
stevenaia Michinaga: this struck a nice cord of clearity for me
Eos Amaterasu: can u say (or finger - paint) more?
stevenaia Michinaga: is etting that aside for a moment, during the meditation I saw being seeing my avatar, which never happened before
    Eos Amaterasu: camera seeing?
stevenaia Michinaga: being as my camera setting, something like that, althuogh I had my eyes closed
    stevenaia Michinaga: more dreamlike
stevenaia Michinaga: but being the object of being awareness as Wol said offeres a different perspective of being seeing
Eden Haiku: Wol's report is lovely.
Eos Amaterasu: She creates a framework that others can add to and complement
stevenaia Michinaga: hope to attend the Retreat session to hear others
Eos Amaterasu: BTW, the New Orleans retreat is coming up Jan 23rd
Eos Amaterasu: the retreat bus is the trans world express
    Eden Haiku: ;)
Eos Amaterasu: going from SL to special situations in RL
Eos Amaterasu: the seeming identities shift from RL to SL, but some presence continues or transcends them or supports them
Eos Amaterasu: "water flowing underground": that was an image that came to me while working with awareness within which everything is known or aware....
Eos Amaterasu: "once in a lifetime...."

    --BELL--

Eden Haiku: Oh I like that image of water flowing underground. Phreatic Being?
Eos Amaterasu: (from Talking Heads song)
    Eos Amaterasu: Phreatic?
    Eden Haiku: Checking Webster...
    Eden Haiku: Yes, groundwater...
    Eos Amaterasu: Wow!
    Eos Amaterasu: how super appropriate!
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Eos Amaterasu: me seeing is a kind of baby seeing
Eos Amaterasu: baby then leaps into embrace of Being seeing
Eos Amaterasu: you can let go
    Eden Haiku: hummm, sound good...
Eos Amaterasu: it's less work to let Being do the seeing :-)
Eden Haiku: Baby being embraced by the gaze of being?
stevenaia Michinaga: like the baby pumpkin
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
Eden Haiku: was thinking same :)
Eos Amaterasu: letting go of driving, controlling seeing
Eden Haiku: An image of Madonna and child coming to mind
Eos Amaterasu: into sense of bigger happening, embraced by that, some kind of super trust
Eos Amaterasu: the visibility of things is Being seeing things
Eden Haiku: Being rezzing phenomena for babies to play with?
Eos Amaterasu: but also Being seeing goes beyond subject-object into Being being
Eos Amaterasu: Yes, being seeing is being rezzing!
Eden Haiku: being being is difficult to grasp...
Eos Amaterasu: a bouncing baby is being being
    Eden Haiku: hehe
stevenaia Michinaga: like yin and yang... they can be each other like subject -object
Eden Haiku: Starting to feel like one as I read on...
Eden Haiku: baby bouncing in groundwater bath Being :)
Eos Amaterasu: has rich nourishing quality
    Eden Haiku: yummmm
    Eos Amaterasu: juicy enoughness

    Eliza Madrigal listens
Yakuzza Lethecus: well, the retreat was nice!
    Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: having only 6 ppl gave it an enormous depth
    Eliza Madrigal: people sound 'glowy'
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hehe :)
    Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: we did a lot of little meditations
Yakuzza Lethecus: practices on being seeing and alike
Eliza Madrigal: did that open up for you then?
Eliza Madrigal: being seeing, with the dimension of being seen, is pretty interesting...
Gaya Ethaniel: Little as in a few minutes each?
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes, wol was usually with the timer
Yakuzza Lethecus: between 2 and 10 minutes
    Gaya Ethaniel: ah
Yakuzza Lethecus: on the last day practices without silence
    Gaya Ethaniel: Not on Wednesday?
Yakuzza Lethecus: lol, of course wednesday was silent :)
Gaya Ethaniel: ah ... practice and chatting?
Yakuzza Lethecus: at least until dinner
Eliza Madrigal: interesting that you did 2 minute meditations
    Gaya Ethaniel: ah ok
Eliza Madrigal: it sounds like you got into a unique rhythm as opposed to mapping it all out?
Yakuzza Lethecus: i don't say that i am an expert by now but at least i would say that i learned a lot
    Gaya Ethaniel: :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Nice!!
Eliza Madrigal: I'm excited to see how the community might learn from what you did together
Yakuzza Lethecus: wol got the best descriptions, since she took notes every day
    Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Eliza Madrigal: :) yes, appreciated the tweets
Eliza Madrigal: like a little peep hole into where you all were
Gaya Ethaniel: I should go look at the tweets ...
Eliza Madrigal: the retreat pages have the link I believe
    Gaya Ethaniel: ah ok
Yakuzza Lethecus: yes all tweets are on the page all together

    Storm Nordwind: me too
    Barcalona Rhapsody: me too
Yakuzza Lethecus: the session is saturday at 7 am, still since we were only 6 ppl we had more depth in the conversations
    Barcalona Rhapsody: hi arch
Yakuzza Lethecus: wol made nice notes which reminded me even of things that i almost forgot whithout note´s
    Yakuzza Lethecus: http://wiki.playasbeing.org/Retreats/2010-10_Stuttgart%2c_DE/Retreat_reports%3a_Stuttgart_2010
Bleu Oleander: can you share a highlight with us now?
Storm Nordwind: Notes are good. genesis made notes at the first retreat. They were comprehensive but they still reminded me of things she missed out!
Yakuzza Lethecus: ah, those were the monkey´s of course :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: lia had worn a t-shirt with a little monkey on it
Yakuzza Lethecus: so the monkeymind became one of the most used metaphors the days after
Yakuzza Lethecus: still we did a lot of practices as well
Yakuzza Lethecus: it´s hard to explain the emotions in the visualizations like the being seen practice
