The Guardian for this session was Pema, the comments are his.

That morning, I found Moon and Fael near the tea house. I was a tad late, since I had encounter some puzzling difficulty in flying over from my own house to the tea house, so I walked instead.

    Moon Fargis: hi pema
Moon Fargis: did you came here for todays play as being meetig?
    Moon Fargis: ahhh hi pema
    Fael Illyar: Hello Pema :)
    Pema Pera: Hi there!
    Pema Pera: Sorry,
Pema Pera: something seriously wrong with my SL settings
    Pema Pera: couldn’t fly anymore
    Moon Fargis: oh
Pema Pera: logged out twice and in again
Pema Pera: give me a sec
Pema Pera: let me test this out
    Pema Pera: brb!
Fael Illyar: Yes, looks like it does.
Fael Illyar: Although I didn’t know you can use settings to make flight not work :)
    Moon Fargis: hmm
    Moon Fargis: infact
Pema Pera: ah, back to normal, quite a relief — must have gotten stuck in some weird state that carried over between logins . . . first time ever!
Moon Fargis: fly is also disabled here
Moon Fargis: i see the fly button disabled
Fael Illyar: mine is not disabled.
    Pema Pera: mine not either
    Moon Fargis: strange
    hi Faenik!
    Fael Illyar: seems to work
Moon Fargis: ah yes ok here too its enabled again

Pia joined us, a new visitor, who was also new to Second Life. She had told me that she had visited SL a couple times, to get a sense of the place, but otherwise had not much experience yet.

    Fael Illyar: Hello Pia
    Moon Fargis: hi pia
    Pema Pera: Hi Pia!
Pema Pera: good to meet you here, welcome!
    Pia Iger: Hi, everyone!
    Faenik giggles. that tickles.
Moon Fargis: ehe nice pet fael
Pema Pera: Pia is a good friend of mine, whom I invited to SL.
Pema Pera: She has just started
    Fael Illyar: Welcome, Pia :)
Moon Fargis: ahh nice to meet you pia
    Pia Iger: ty
Pema Pera: This is your second or third time in SL, isn’t it, Pia?
Fael Illyar: Moon, thank you :)
    Pia Iger: 3rd time
Pema Pera: do you know how you can sit?
Faenik: Moon Fargis has tickled me 1 times.
Pia Iger: I dont want to sit on porch
    Pema Pera: haha
Fael Illyar: looks like no-one else has tickled Faenik since I last modified the script :)
Pema Pera: you can stand or sit on the grass or on a bench
    Moon Fargis: use this
    Moon Fargis: right of you
Pia Iger: It is wierd we are not facing each other when talking

Pia had a good point: sitting in a row was not the most congenial thing to do. Dakini walked in.

    Dakini Rhode: Namaste!
    Fael Illyar: Hi Dakini
    Moon Fargis: ah hi dakini
Pema Pera: yes, that is true, Pia
    Pema Pera: Hi dakini!
Pia Iger: Hi, Dakini, I am Pia, a newcomer
Pema Pera: Shall we go inside?
    Dakini Rhode: welcome, Pia!
    Faenik: could be
Dakini Rhode: this is a good morning in SL
Dakini Rhode: my textures have all rezzed
Moon Fargis: pema: greets from delani
Pema Pera: Dakini, Pia is a friend of mine who has just started to come to SL, this is her third time in-world!
    Pema Pera: Thanks, Moon!
Pia Iger: I have sneaked into tea house 2 times
Moon Fargis: hmm dakini.. seems you drink too much green tea:)
Pema Pera: ah, so you have learned to sit and open doors and all that, Pia!
Dakini Rhode: very skilful for a newcomer…
    Pema Pera: yes, I’m amazed!
    Pia Iger: yes
Pia Iger: and drank the tea

Indeed, Pia was surprisingly quick in following us inside.

Dakini Rhode: haha Moon either that or too much swimming in the new waters
Fael Illyar: Not afraid to try things then, that’s good :)
Pia Iger: I have been reading blog. so it is not totally strange thing for me.
Pema Pera: Ah, then it must be fun for you to see all these characters here!
Pema Pera: in real virtual life!
Dakini Rhode: yes, i watched you come in the door - you must have played video games or something
Pia Iger: Yes. I am excited
Pema Pera: Do we look as you expected us to look?
Pia Iger: not surprised by all your looks, more interesting
Moon Fargis: well the look always lies i guess:)
    Fael Illyar: Hehe :)
Dakini Rhode is a fan of unexpected surprises
    Pia Iger: wow..

At this Fael started to shape shift, turning her avatar into a book, the pages of which seemed to be moving in the wind, sitting next to me but coming disconcertedly close to the fire.

Pema Pera: Fael is an open book for all of us
Moon Fargis: burning book burning book
    Moon Fargis: take care book
    Dakini Rhode: cute, Moon

Moon, not one to be easily left behind in shape shifting, in the mean time had changed into some sort of children’s doll.

Dakini Rhode: makes me wanta rub your tummy , lol
    Pema Pera: wow!
Pema Pera: I wonder what is happening with Faenik in the mean time . . ..
    Moon Fargis: rub my tummy?
Pia Iger: I yet to learn to adjust view to see each one better
Dakini Rhode: lol like the care bears
Fael Illyar: Faenik doesn’t really have a place on this book so he’s … somewhere
Dakini Rhode: do the tinies cushions work better for you?
Pia Iger: actually before I woke up, I dreamed I was rubbing a 2 year old girl’s tummy and told her I love her, she is my favorite.
    Dakini Rhode: oh yes, better
Moon Fargis: i like the fire:)
Pema Pera: Fael, I feel this urge to start reading you!

While I spoke those words, Fael changed again, this time into a beautiful green-blue dragon, with a hint of peacock nature.

Pema Pera: not any more now . . .:-)
    Fael Illyar: :)
Pia Iger: Now the happy feeling continued with some many lovely figures around me.
    Moon Fargis purrzzzzzzzzz

And Moon responded by changing into a yellow-white lion with dazzling white wings.

Pia Iger: now it is a bit scary
Pema Pera: wow, Pia, it must be a celebration for your first entry here!!!
    Dakini Rhode: what wonderful creatures!
Pema Pera thinks he really has to learn to shape shift . . . wishing he could join in!
Pia Iger: It is very festive, I believe it is for me:)
    Moon Fargis purrzzzzzzzzz
    Pema Pera: it is!
Fael Illyar: You can find most things you can imagine from somewhere in SL :)
Dakini Rhode: fucusing on the play this Saturday
Pema Pera: A peacock dino and a winged white lion
Pia Iger: yesterday I went to SL art gallery, very impressed.
Dakini Rhode suddenly feels quite ordinary
Moon Fargis: well i guess we play as being
    Pema Pera: haha
Dakini Rhode: SL is wonderful for artists
Pema Pera: as being something yeah, QUITE something

Play as Being indeed seems to fit SL remarkably well.

Pia Iger: I really want to get a closer look of Dakini, how can I do it without offending
Moon Fargis: pia: hold left alt
Dakini Rhode: do you know how to use your camera controls?
    Pia Iger: sort of
Fael Illyar: Very much so, that reminds me that I should probably change the clothes I’m wearing in human form, I have been using that black kimono with red hearts for a bit long
Pia Iger: but you are behind the pot
Moon Fargis: then your mouspointer switches, click and hold at dakini and move your mose
Pema Pera: Fael, I’m glad you’ve come back so many times!
    Dakini Rhode: reincarnating, even
Pema Pera: I just read the blog of your second visit
    =^ェ^=: where is Faenik now?
Pia Iger: now I move to Dakini side, and can see Fael is very pretty!
Moon Fargis: pia: you can lower and rise your camera angle if you hold ctrl and left alt together while moving the mouse
Fael Illyar: That is not so hard here in SL. You either need to have money to pay someone to make you look pretty or skill and time to do it yourself.
Fael Illyar: But thank you :)
Fael Illyar: I chose the latter option myself.
Pia Iger: I want to learn someday.
Pia Iger: Now I can see the delicate laces on Dakini’s skirt.
Dakini Rhode: good work with the camera controls, Pia!

Pia made a very interesting observation. Unlike most new visitors, she had already been reading the PaB blog for quite a while.

Pia Iger: It is quieter than I thought. From blog, everyone seems talking non stop.
Fael Illyar: It takes a while to change form as I don’t have everything in one folder.
Pia Iger: I enjoy seeing all kinds of shapes.
    Moon Fargis: hi trevor
    Fael Illyar: Hi Trevor :)
Pema Pera: Yes, Pia, you don’t see the gaps in talking on the blog
    Pema Pera: Hi Trevor!
    Trevor Berensohn: Morning =)
    Dakini Rhode: howdy!
    Pia Iger: morning, Travor
Pema Pera: Trevor, meet Pia and Fael
    Faenik: could be
    Pia Iger: Hi, Trevor
Fael Illyar: Trevor and I have already met.
Pema Pera: Ah, sorry, didn’t realize that
Trevor Berensohn: Good to meet you Pia. And good to see you again, Fael
Pema Pera: Ah, yes, in Solobill’s shift
Trevor Berensohn: Hmmm is the seat in front of Fael taken
Pema Pera: hard to keep track of all the meetings here :-)
    Trevor Berensohn: Haha yes
    Fael Illyar: try now?
Trevor Berensohn: Oh now I see seats available

Soon after Trevor joined us, Cal dropped by as well.

    Pema Pera: Hi Cal!
    Caledonia Heron: hello everyone :)
    Fael Illyar: Hello Caledonia.
Pia Iger: Hi, Cal, I am Pia, a newbie
Pema Pera: Cal, meet Fael and Pia!
Caledonia Heron: hi Pia, nice to meet you :)
    Caledonia Heron: hi Fael :)
Pema Pera: a very quickly getting-up-to-speed newbie :)
    Pia Iger: thanks.
Pia Iger: It is a full house sat morning
    Moon Fargis: yes
Trevor Berensohn: Yes sorry I’m late
    Dakini Rhode: hi Cal!
    Caledonia Heron: hey Dakini :)
Pema Pera: I don’t think I’ve ever seen seven of us in a morning session!
    Trevor Berensohn: Ah there’s D =)
Fael Illyar: Not morning here :)
    Trevor Berensohn: Oi
Pema Pera: not here either, midnight almost
Pia Iger: It is a beautiful spring morning.
Pema Pera: let’s see four of us in the US two in Europe and one in Japan

Once again a presence from three continents.

    Faenik loves wells!
Caledonia Heron: some would say I am not in the US but rather in Texas :)
Trevor Berensohn: Noone from Down under =(
    =^ェ^= loves rain drops
Trevor Berensohn: Amen to that, Cal
Pia Iger: I am practicing zoom in/out .
    Faenik: なるほど^^
Pema Pera: you’re learning a lot faster than I did, Pia!
Pia Iger: thank you. and for moving to side.
    =^ェ^=:なんですか?
Caledonia Heron: it’s interesting to note how we integrate ourselves and our level of texting to accomodate old and new teahousians….to gain the level of trust required to discuss our interest

Yes, I had been thinking about that too, one of the wonderful aspects of our growing community.

Fael Illyar: I’ve been doing these explorations today (I have a timer every 15 minutes playing a sound). Some of them I have come up with a word to write but only for around half of the,.
Dakini Rhode suggests that English is a language we all understand (somewhat)
Pema Pera: Yes, Cal, it is amazing how well we all get along . . . .
Trevor Berensohn almost understood some of the English, yes
    Faenik: 何でもありません。
    Faenik: could be
Pema Pera: I really love the way Faenik speaks, Fael
    Pema Pera: doesn’t seem randow
    Pema Pera: random
Pema Pera: but I believe you that it is!
Fael Illyar: sometimes it isn’t but mostly it is.
Dakini Rhode: whoever recommended that mindful clock.. I thank you!
Pema Pera: but the first one wasn’t I know!
    Pema Pera: haha
Pema Pera: That was Fael, I believe?

I was refering to Faenik’s random “ah yes of course” to which I had replied “what is of course” to which Faenik has retorted “nothing is” which made it clear that the second utterance showed the hand of its master.

Dakini Rhode: i have it set to ring every 15 minutes
    Pema Pera: the clock?
Trevor Berensohn: I thought you did, Dakini
Dakini Rhode: i picked it up from one of the blog entries
Dakini Rhode: too many to go back and find it…
Fael Illyar: No, I think Dakini found it. I can’t use it since I don’t use Windows though so I just set up a cron job every 15 minutes.
Moon Fargis: hmm i can give you my temple bell.. now we just need a scripther then who modifys it to ring every 15 min
    Moon Fargis: here in sl
Pia Iger: I want to try the clock out too.
    Dakini Rhode: hmm yes moon
Dakini Rhode: it would be wonderful to put it in here
Fael Illyar: I could modify it to ring every 15 minutes
    Moon Fargis: cool
Dakini Rhode: we could all do the 9 sec practice here
    Moon Fargis: one sec fael
Pema Pera: I have been thinking about the example of Islamic cultures . . . .
Pema Pera: we could have a minaret in the forest
Pema Pera: and a song every 15 minutes :)
Pema Pera: chocolate disco or such
Dakini Rhode: o my chocolate disco every 15 minutes?

Moon had materialized a hanging temple bell, in the middle of the room, while Dakini was imagine automatically repeated chocolate disco announcments.

Moon Fargis: fael, please be aware that this bell is normaly not free, so please dont give it away to others unless they use it for their pab
    Moon Fargis: nooo
Moon Fargis: i got such nice bellsounds in that bell
    Pema Pera: (^_^)
Dakini Rhode: i think i would run away screaming
Fael Illyar: This bell doesn’t seem to have anything in it
    Moon Fargis: wwhat one sec
Moon Fargis: there should be different sounds ad a random script in it
Pia Iger: I like the bell sound
Dakini Rhode: in the main prim
    Dakini Rhode: the bell prim
Fael Illyar: Moon, yes, of course, I will only give out notrans copies of the modified version.
    Pema Pera: very nice!
    Fael Illyar: ah, found them
Dakini Rhode: how wonderful Moon - and I’m very willing to buy this for the retreat
Moon Fargis: well the modified version will be for free for all groupmembers ofcourse:)
Dakini Rhode: that is so generous
    Pema Pera: thank you, Moon!!
    Moon Fargis: np

I asked Fael about her PaB explorations.

Pema Pera: Fael, you found it difficult to write something — how was it now, when you tried, did it take effort?
Fael Illyar: When I get a word to write, it’s no effort. I feel trying to figure out a word interferes with the exploration somehow so I avoid trying too hard.
Pema Pera: it is important to not force, so if you really don’t like it, there is no reason to do it
Pema Pera: but still a good idea to try a bit, sometimes
Pema Pera: to see wether it grows on you or not
Pema Pera: everything we suggest here are just suggestions — the only thing important is frequency
    Pema Pera: continuity
Pema Pera: doing something, anything, regularly
Fael Illyar: Yes, I just did it, actually.
Pema Pera: to get out of the rut of the conventional way of looking at the world
    Pema Pera: great!
Pia Iger: I found recently it is easier to make notes, ideas just come up
Faenik is a hairy black ball with eyes and ears.
Dakini Rhode wonders whether some people communicate more naturally in other modes from words
    Dakini Rhode: like art
    Dakini Rhode: music
Pema Pera: haha, has everybody met Faenik yet?
    Dakini Rhode: feeling
    Pema Pera: interesting question, Dakini
Dakini Rhode: i find i often try to find words to describe my experience
Dakini Rhode: but the words are after the fact
    Dakini Rhode: and sometimes inadequate

Fael had looked at the script for Moon’s temple bell.

Fael Illyar: Ok, finished reading the script. Quite complex for what it actually does :)
Caledonia Heron: I submit the answer is yes Dakini, people express themselves in different modes as well as learn in different modes
Pia Iger: I always have visions, not concept after 9-sec
Dakini Rhode: Pema seems to have a real facility with words
    Dakini Rhode: language
Moon Fargis: fael: yes its just a modified nature sound script :)
Caledonia Heron: he’s chatty - lots of practice :)
    Pema Pera: haha
Pema Pera: don’t know where it comes from
    Pema Pera: I like languages
Dakini Rhode: now I’m an “intuitive empath” or so it has been described
Fael Illyar: having it ring every 15 minutes is easy, if you want to fix all of them to the same 15 minutes … I’ll need to look at lslwiki for a moment
    Dakini Rhode: i feel things
Dakini Rhode: i think there are many modes, and words may be easier for some
Dakini Rhode: for others, maybe something else will arise
    Caledonia Heron: yes Dakini, intuition…radar

While Pia, Dakini, Caledonia and I continued to muse, Fael and Moon got deep into the bell scripting.

Fael Illyar: Oh, wait, I do need to modify more.
Dakini Rhode: if you know how to time 15 minutes, you could loop that, right?
Fael Illyar: it’s a loop of sorts already.
Fael Illyar: It’s just doing way too much :)
    Dakini Rhode: :-)
Moon Fargis: maybe just play all 3 gongs i put in there in a row after 15 minutes
    Faenik: why not?
Dakini Rhode: haha faenik has weighed in….
Fael Illyar: I was thinking of playing one, chosen randomly :)
    Pema Pera: hahaha
    Moon Fargis: ahh
Moon Fargis: hmm i just thought one can be overheard
    Dakini Rhode: why not?
Dakini Rhode: how long are they?
Fael Illyar: I’ll play them, moment
Caledonia Heron: have fun with the bell :)
Dakini Rhode: that long one is nice :-)
    Dakini Rhode: ty Cal!
    Fael Illyar: third one?
    Dakini Rhode: oops gone already
Fael Illyar: should I just use that one?
Dakini Rhode: we could try that…
Moon Fargis: was is the long one?
Moon Fargis: no there is a longer one i think
    Dakini Rhode: yes
    Dakini Rhode: the first one
    Dakini Rhode: that one
Fael Illyar: ok, just that one then

    We just watched the activities.

Pia Iger: sitting here is already quite mediative.
    Pema Pera: yes, isn’t it!
Pema Pera: if you get a chance, please join Dakini’s sitting
Pema Pera: every evening at 6 pm SLT
    Pia Iger: I will.
Dakini Rhode: we were 11 last night…
Pema Pera: I’m going to join an astro friend of mine
    Dakini Rhode: ttyl Pema
Pema Pera: all my meetings are around this time
Pema Pera: the only overlap between California and Europe and Japan
Fael Illyar: there, now it should play chime1 every 15 minutes.
    Pia Iger: good night, Pema.
Pema Pera: See you alll, thanks for joining us!
Fael Illyar: Good night Pema :)
    Faenik: why not?
Moon Fargis: see you later my friends:)
    Dakini Rhode: Namaste
Pema Pera: And thanks for the — haha — great show, Moon and Fael!
    Pema Pera: And welcome, Pia!
    Pia Iger: see you later.
    Moon Fargis: :)
Dakini Rhode: this timer is a welcome addition
