    A playful night this evening......

stevenaia Michinaga: are you sitting on the grass?
Rowan Masala: no, on a cushion
stevenaia Michinaga: hi, missed you, there must be a lag
    Rowan Masala nods
    stevenaia Michinaga: hello Pila
    Pila Mulligan: hi
    stevenaia Michinaga: you know Rowan?
    Rowan Masala: hi Pila
Pila Mulligan: how are you Steve and Rowan
    Rowan Masala: pretty good
    Rowan Masala: and you?
    Pila Mulligan: fine thanks
stevenaia Michinaga: I'm coming down with a chest cold :( to much snow and cold)
    stevenaia Michinaga: rather annoying
Pila Mulligan: ohh, bad -- try to find some Gan Mao Ling at a health store -- it works -- Chinese herbs
Pila Mulligan: principal ingredient is chrysanthemum
Pila Mulligan: Gan Mao Ling translated from Chinese = "works of colds" :)
stevenaia Michinaga: hmm, there is a chinese herbalist in town, I'll stop my, how do you ingest or smell it?
Pila Mulligan: it is a small tablet -- take three or so 2 or 3 times a day
    stevenaia Michinaga: pardon my ignorance
    Pila Mulligan: :)
Rowan Masala: I'd love to be an herbalist's apprentice
stevenaia Michinaga: like those drops you put under your tongue who's name escapes me
Rowan Masala: to learn how to make decoctions and infusions and poultices
Pila Mulligan: there are several such Chinese herbs for colds, but I like gan mao ling best
Rowan Masala: Rescue Remedy, from Bach's flower essences
Pila Mulligan: he may also have yin chao
stevenaia Michinaga: you could cure me Rowan
Pila Mulligan: are you an herbalist Rowan?
Rowan Masala: oh no--I'd just love to learn about it
Rowan Masala: although my cousin and I used to make some pretty weird mixtures in the kitchen
Rowan Masala: and she always made me drink them :)
Pila Mulligan: oh, sorry, I should have picked up the 'love to be' part earlier :)
    Rowan Masala: np :)
Pila Mulligan: what did you mix
    Pila Mulligan: ?
Rowan Masala: hmm--I remember one time there was orange juice and almond extract and spinach and whipped cream
    Pila Mulligan: ohh, yummy :)
Rowan Masala: all put in the blender
    Rowan Masala: lol
    Pila Mulligan: no garlic?
    Rowan Masala: no, thank goodness
    Pila Mulligan: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: green and orange, what color does that make?
Rowan Masala: my mom didn't use fresh garlic
    Rowan Masala: it makes brown
    Rowan Masala: yucky yucky brown
    Rowan Masala: lol
stevenaia Michinaga: must have tasted good
Pila Mulligan: Steve, maybe some bright news from here will give you a little lift -- I got passed on the final building inspection yesterday
Pila Mulligan: now a legal occupant of a house
Rowan Masala: yay! what are you building?
    Pila Mulligan: a residence
stevenaia Michinaga: yeah, time for a party to break in the place
    Pila Mulligan: yep
    stevenaia Michinaga: YOUR residence
    Pila Mulligan: yep
    Rowan Masala: congrats!
    Pila Mulligan: thanks
Pila Mulligan: come see it :)
stevenaia Michinaga: is there a pinapple based alcohol?
    Pila Mulligan: sure
Rowan Masala starts humming the pina colada song
    Pila Mulligan: :0
Rowan Masala: is this a RL or SL residence, Pila?
    Pila Mulligan: RL
    Pila Mulligan: my retirement home
    Rowan Masala smiles
stevenaia Michinaga: hmm no pina colada in my inventory
Pila Mulligan: also, if you find some rosemary, if is fun to steam a room with it, for a chest cold
    Pila Mulligan: seems to help
    Pila Mulligan: thanks Rowan
    Rowan Masala laughs
stevenaia Michinaga: gave me a lift
    Pila Mulligan: so it seems
Rowan Masala: glad the 14,000 items in my inventory can come in handy sometimes
    stevenaia Michinaga: yikes
stevenaia Michinaga: and you cleaned it up too
Pila Mulligan: they must have been organized for you to find these in less than an hour
    Rowan Masala: mostly textures
Rowan Masala: wow--PaB has gotten complicated since I left
stevenaia Michinaga: am I floating above my pillow?
    Rowan Masala: yes
Pila Mulligan: Steve owns the log
    stevenaia Michinaga: it;s a recorder back-up
    Rowan Masala nods
stevenaia Michinaga: so much crashing these days
stevenaia Michinaga: it sends em the log, first time I'm using it
stevenaia Michinaga: I;m hoping it;s edited and spellchecked too
    Rowan Masala: lol
Pila Mulligan: do you like pineapple on pizza?
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, we usually get frozen and dress it up w/ pinapple and other thignsthings
Pila Mulligan: some things seem to go well with it, but sometimes it makes an odd pizza
stevenaia Michinaga: so is pizza Hawaiian>? is that what you are saying?
Pila Mulligan: well, pineapple pizzas are common here
Pila Mulligan: or pineapple is common as an topping
stevenaia Michinaga: on everything I assume
Rowan Masala: oh, are you in Hawaii, Pila?
Pila Mulligan: I love it usually, but on some pizzas it is odd
    Pila Mulligan: yes Rowan
stevenaia Michinaga: and we have a standing invitation to crash there, right Pila, now that you are legal
Pila Mulligan: hence, Steve mentioned pineapple drinks
    Rowan Masala: ahh
    Rowan Masala: got it
    Pila Mulligan: yes, please visit
Rowan Masala: careful--we might just take you up on that
Rowan Masala: I haven't been to Hawaii in almost 20 years
Pila Mulligan: I am hoping to make a nice camp site here, as quite a few friends have said they'd like to come camping
stevenaia Michinaga: he no where near the ocean though, but I suppose on an island you are always near the ocean
Rowan Masala: depends on how big the island is
Pila Mulligan: about 20 miles down the mountain
Pila Mulligan: I've been here about 24 years now
Pila Mulligan: my avi is just typing like crazy and I'm not :)
Pila Mulligan: there it stopped :)
stevenaia Michinaga: am I floating or is it me?
Pila Mulligan: your avi is in the air, Steve
stevenaia Michinaga: :), but be those cold meds
Pila Mulligan: bourbon and lemon juice
stevenaia Michinaga: hmmm, brb, sounds perfect
    stevenaia Michinaga: sans lemon
Rowan Masala: you could try standing and sitting again, unless you're happy floating
Pila Mulligan: a Kentucky folk remedy ... for anything
    Pila Mulligan: hello Natalie
    Natalie Rothmanay: hi :)
    Rowan Masala: hi Natalie
    Pila Mulligan: have a seat?
Rowan Masala: or float like Steven, as you prefer
    Natalie Rothmanay: thnx ;)
Pila Mulligan: Rowan passed around pina colada earlier, so please enjoy
    stevenaia Michinaga: back... slurp
Rowan Masala: it was at Steven's request
    stevenaia Michinaga: hello Natalie
    Natalie Rothmanay: hey!
stevenaia Michinaga: have you been here before?
    Natalie Rothmanay: nope :)
Pila Mulligan: Steve will now give you the intro :)
    Pila Mulligan: ... drum roll
    Natalie Rothmanay: :D
stevenaia Michinaga: there's a note card at the the info post out there, we record our conversations here and post them on our Wiki, do you mind?
Rowan Masala: in the beginning was Pema, and Play as Being was without form and void, and the darkness was over the face of Rieul, and Pema said "let there be 9 second meditations"... and there were 9-second meditations
    Pila Mulligan: loll
    Pila Mulligan: very nice Rowan
    Natalie Rothmanay: sounds cool
    Natalie Rothmanay: :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: http://playasbeing.wik.is/Informatio..._in_a_Nutshell
Pila Mulligan: we have deep discussions of reality
    Pila Mulligan: or goofy chat
    Pila Mulligan: or silence, whatever
stevenaia Michinaga: and other times we drink and play
Rowan Masala: which are often exactly the same thing
    Natalie Rothmanay: hehe
    Pila Mulligan: :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
Natalie Rothmanay: are we being recorded now?
stevenaia Michinaga: w meet 4 times a day and post the discussions
    stevenaia Michinaga: yes
Natalie Rothmanay: sweet! hey everyone :)
    Pila Mulligan: hi mom
stevenaia Michinaga: there is always someone here to keep the log and post it
    Rowan Masala: lol
stevenaia Michinaga: how did you find us?
stevenaia Michinaga: did you hear the bell?
Natalie Rothmanay: um i was just teleporting around and saw all the green dots lol
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: there is much info on the wiki, take your time and join us often...smiles
    Natalie Rothmanay: sounds good
Pila Mulligan: there is another associated site nearby called Kira Cafe ... it has interesting sessions also
stevenaia Michinaga: they have daily interesting lectures and discussion
stevenaia Michinaga: always something mind expanding to do in Sl
stevenaia Michinaga: and a pina colada or 2
    stevenaia Michinaga: whatever
stevenaia Michinaga: do you do any meditation, Natalie?
Natalie Rothmanay: i take a yoga class 3 times a week, if that counts
    Pila Mulligan: yes indeed
stevenaia Michinaga: :) I found yoga to be very meditative
Pila Mulligan: what type of yoga Natalie
    Pila Mulligan: hatha?
    Natalie Rothmanay: yep!
Pila Mulligan: I like it too
stevenaia Michinaga: so did I, but I recently changed teachers
Pila Mulligan: do you do yoga or meditation Rowan
    Pila Mulligan: ?
stevenaia Michinaga: Rowan drank to much
    stevenaia Michinaga: is lagging
Pila Mulligan: maybe she is in pineapple bliss
    Natalie Rothmanay: lol
stevenaia Michinaga: (Pila is from Hawaii, he would know)
Pila Mulligan: ... ahh, the sweet smell of pineapple fields
Pila Mulligan: except when they put on the very toxic insecticides
stevenaia Michinaga: what part of the US are you from Natalie?
Rowan Masala: oh, sorry--no, no yoga or meditation currently
    Pila Mulligan: wb
    Rowan Masala: ty
    Natalie Rothmanay: California :)
    Rowan Masala: northern or southern?
Pila Mulligan: Low Cal or No Cal
    Natalie Rothmanay: southern
    Pila Mulligan: Low :)
Rowan Masala: I lived in LA for 5 years
Rowan Masala: and Santa Barbara for one
Natalie Rothmanay: really, i live in Corona
stevenaia Michinaga: I was there for 3 days once, not my favorite place
    Pila Mulligan: :)
Rowan Masala: ah, Corona del Mar
    Rowan Masala: lovely
    stevenaia Michinaga: prefer NoCal
Natalie Rothmanay: yes i love it
Pila Mulligan: is Coron near Santa Barbara
    Pila Mulligan: Corona*
    Rowan Masala: no, further south
    Pila Mulligan: ah, Mexico
Rowan Masala: in Orange County, right?
    Rowan Masala: lol
    Natalie Rothmanay: mhmm
Pila Mulligan: well, 2000 miles form Pila to Rowan and Natalie and then another 2000 miles to Steve
stevenaia Michinaga: do we cover 1/3 the circumference of the world
Rowan Masala: oh, I'm in SC now
    Pila Mulligan: Santa Clara?
    Pila Mulligan: :)
    Rowan Masala: South Carolina :)
Pila Mulligan: yep, i knew, just joshiing
    Pila Mulligan: magnolia country
    Rowan Masala smiles
Rowan Masala: so is it really 2000 miles from CA to Hawaii?
    Pila Mulligan: yep
Pila Mulligan: or more to some parts :)
Pila Mulligan: it is 2000 mile of ocean to anywhere from here
    Rowan Masala smiles
Pila Mulligan: we're like that little fountain in the pool here at the PaB pavillion -- all water everywhere
Pila Mulligan: I enjoyed Maxine's workshop on dreams yesterday
stevenaia Michinaga: here is the link to Adam's exhibit opening this weekend
Pila Mulligan: what is the Hall of Appearances Steve?
    Pila Mulligan: ahh, thanks
    Pila Mulligan: art?
stevenaia Michinaga: it;s an architectural exhibit of RL and SL buildings
    Pila Mulligan: hmm
    Pila Mulligan: bye Natalie
    stevenaia Michinaga: same buildings
    stevenaia Michinaga: poof, she;s gone
Pila Mulligan: with the pina colada
stevenaia Michinaga: leaves no glasses behind
    Pila Mulligan: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: meds kicking in, I think Ill have another
Rowan Masala: I should head out as well
Rowan Masala: good to see you both
Pila Mulligan: maybe she clicked teleport on the link to Adam's place
stevenaia Michinaga: no, she didn;t accept it
Pila Mulligan: bye Rowan, nice to see you
stevenaia Michinaga: bye rowan, thanks for joining us
Pila Mulligan: thanks for the pina colada
    Rowan Masala smiles
    Rowan Masala: thanks Pila
    Pila Mulligan: aloha
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, than that too, set the right mood here tonight
    Rowan Masala: be well
Pila Mulligan: I take it Rowan has been to PaB in the past
stevenaia Michinaga: she was a guardian
Pila Mulligan: oh, but left for a wile?
    Pila Mulligan: while*
    stevenaia Michinaga: no just left
    Pila Mulligan: ahh
stevenaia Michinaga: I invited her tonight as I was hoping claire would be here... she had said she was leaving Sl (see my Sunday (short) log) so I was hoping to gather old friends for an appropriate send off
stevenaia Michinaga: others were waiting in the wings... but No claire
Pila Mulligan: well, i hope Claire is happy nonetheless
stevenaia Michinaga: I think we all do
stevenaia Michinaga: it;s that kind of group... and I'm not sure why
Pila Mulligan: well, friendships seem to be available here on a pretty diverse basis
Pila Mulligan: some close, some not, but friendly all the same
    stevenaia Michinaga: indeed
stevenaia Michinaga: very little confrontational discussion here
    Pila Mulligan: :0
    stevenaia Michinaga: if any
Pila Mulligan: plus, my being in any isolated spot of a rainforest, and maybe going for several days without seeing anything but trees, it is an easy way to make human contact
stevenaia Michinaga: don;t know how a group like this could have possibly assembled itself like this if it was the goal
    Pila Mulligan: an*
Pila Mulligan: I used to visit with the Nymf's Forum group, it was similar
Pila Mulligan: but so much of SL seems kind of alien
    stevenaia Michinaga: but it happened
    stevenaia Michinaga: New York Male/Female?
    Pila Mulligan: :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: what is NYMF
    Pila Mulligan: I'm not sure
stevenaia Michinaga: lol, was it topical?
Pila Mulligan: but there is some acronym for inquiry as to age, gender, etc. in common use
Pila Mulligan: oh, sorry Nymf was someone's name :0
Pila Mulligan: must be the pina colada
    stevenaia Michinaga: oh, ofcourse
Pila Mulligan: yes, it was philosophical
stevenaia Michinaga: lol or the bourbon, clearing throat, I mean meds
    Pila Mulligan: :0
Pila Mulligan: they met once a week to discuss a chosen topic
Pila Mulligan: have you seen the meetings at Kira's called Nymf's Science Circle --a spin off
    Pila Mulligan: Science Circle
    Pila Mulligan: whatever
stevenaia Michinaga: some discussion groups tend to attract hecklers
    Pila Mulligan: yes, sometimes
Pila Mulligan: not much here though it seems
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, I read the Kira notices, I just don;t have the time usually
Pila Mulligan: time, a terrible master
Pila Mulligan: I'm going to keep trying to attend Maxine's Tuesday sessions however
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, but I do enjoy Pema's pursuits
    Pila Mulligan: me too
    Pila Mulligan: he seems inspired
stevenaia Michinaga: I have read her logs, there is something very special about Maxine, I enjoyed meeting her in Princeton this fall
    stevenaia Michinaga: (Maxine)
Pila Mulligan: she seems quite grounded
stevenaia Michinaga: Sylectra and I shared some wine with her before dinner , yes grounded is a good word
    Pila Mulligan: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: strange in comparison to Stim, who seems in the clouds grounded
    Pila Mulligan: :)
    Pila Mulligan: upside grounded
    Pila Mulligan: grounded*
stevenaia Michinaga: quite different yet nicely balanced, yes
Pila Mulligan: Stim's expertise is remarkably close to my interests
    Pila Mulligan: very Chinese
Pila Mulligan: but I am also very interested in Maxine's topic of dreams
stevenaia Michinaga: in interesting subject, I have only recently begun to remember dreams, I used to write them down years ago, endless pages written in the middle of the night after I awoke to write them down
Pila Mulligan: :) good practice, to get to remembering them
Pila Mulligan: I lay with my eyes closed on awakening and just review them
Pila Mulligan: then forget them :0
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, they vanish like smoke
Pila Mulligan: Maxine says we are always dreaming, even when awake
    Pila Mulligan: I agree
Pila Mulligan: we just notice them more when asleep
stevenaia Michinaga: bur reading what you wrote even decades later rekindles the vivid memories of the dream
Pila Mulligan: yes, isn't it interesting
    Pila Mulligan: brb
stevenaia Michinaga: I did this awakening mysilf to write them down in the middle of the night) when I had relocated for a job after collage and was living along for a time
    Pila Mulligan: back
    stevenaia Michinaga: wb
Pila Mulligan: some mpeole never notice their dreams it seems, and some like them
    Pila Mulligan: thanks
    Pila Mulligan: got some couscous
Pila Mulligan: left overs fromlunch :)
Pila Mulligan: most mundane waking expereinces also vanish like smoke, unless you write them down :0
    stevenaia Michinaga: waking?
Pila Mulligan: as opposed to dreaming :)
    Pila Mulligan: awake
stevenaia Michinaga: I suspect memory works differently when awake
    Pila Mulligan: how?
stevenaia Michinaga: a question for Maxine, never thought of long term or short term memory related to dreams
Pila Mulligan: yes, an interesting thougt
stevenaia Michinaga: it all seems short terms but different
Pila Mulligan: I'll ask her ... for me, any way, i do not really rememebr many details of what happened last week, during the day
    Pila Mulligan: or during dreams
stevenaia Michinaga: I love this part of the session when log titles come to mind :)
Pila Mulligan: but I *could* reconsturct the main events, unlie dreams
stevenaia Michinaga: I actually dreamed of getting a call on my iPhone last night
Pila Mulligan: what title came to mind?
    Pila Mulligan: :)
    Pila Mulligan: anything interesting
Pila Mulligan: you won the lottery :)
stevenaia Michinaga: Pina Colada and Dreams
Pila Mulligan: anyhting interesting on the dream phone, that is
    Pila Mulligan: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: no, actually, jsut a call from a friend , but her pic was on the phone just like RL
    Pila Mulligan: cool
Pila Mulligan: I had a phone call dream with Pema a few nights afo, very brief
    Pila Mulligan: ago*
stevenaia Michinaga: haha, there are no brief calls with Pema, trust me
Pila Mulligan: not in rl :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: But always interesting
    stevenaia Michinaga: :0
Pila Mulligan: well, I hope your chest cold is not bad, Steve -- hopefully the herbalist can help
Pila Mulligan: about time to be going for Pila
stevenaia Michinaga: ok, night Pila, enjoy your evening
Pila Mulligan: thanks, same to you -- see you next time
    stevenaia Michinaga: Hi Maggie
    Pila Mulligan: hi Maggie
    Magdalena Colclough: Hi Steven, Pila
Pila Mulligan: I was just leaving, unfortunately
    Magdalena Colclough: np
    Pila Mulligan: aloha `oe
Magdalena Colclough: I just dropped in to see Steven
    stevenaia Michinaga: night Pila
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)
