Wol Euler: an old set that I rediscovered recently. My inventory is far too large

Wol Euler: heheh, yes my RL is significantly less fashion-enabled than my SL
Wol Euler: though there is what Rivka my socologist buddy calls "backformation", where SL influences RL
Wol Euler: I have started growing my hair out in RL after a decade of having it really short, because of SL hairstyles :)

Allan Whiteberry: more precisely, what they think that others think is beautiful
Wol Euler: not necessarily, allan, they may have built a body to please themselves only
Allan Whiteberry: I think that is unlikely and rare
genesis Zhangsun: well hard to separate where you start and society ends
genesis Zhangsun: we can be highly influenced by societal notions of beauty without knowing it
Allan Whiteberry: I think it's more instinctive
genesis Zhangsun: so I can tell you what I think I am getting across with this look

genesis Zhangsun: I always find soft and tough beautiful
genesis Zhangsun: so the wool outfit is sort of soft and feminine but the boots are sort of tough

genesis Zhangsun: yeah thats what I am going for
Wol Euler: and the cuirasses (is that the word? arm protectors)
Wol Euler: I like the curly pointy boots!
genesis Zhangsun: yes I think ther eis soft and tough throughout the outfit

Wol Euler: so Wol is (I think) good looking but also realistic, with "problem zones" :-)
Wol Euler: like hte big butt and thighs, and the too-big mouth that hardly fits on my face

Wol Euler: actually, I think I understood what tattoos are about (might be about for me):
Wol Euler: they are a way of being less naked.
Allan Whiteberry: No. You should never deface your body

genesis Zhangsun: they shift the focus away from your nakedness
Allan Whiteberry: I see many teenagers getting "tats" and it saddens me
Allan Whiteberry: /when they get older, they will regret it
Wol Euler: possibly, yes. With luck and good advice, they'll have used vegatable dyes that fade in 10 yrs or so

Allan Whiteberry: getting a tat removed is costly, painful, and not always successful

Wol Euler: your expression has a calmness and focussing-on-the-middle-distance that is particular to you

Scathach Rhiadra: when I signed up for SL, didn't know that I had to pick an avatar look, so possibly picked the nearest to RL, though maybe 20 years ago:)

Pila Mulligan: I tried to make my SL avi reflect the real life Pila as well as I could, but real life Pila cannot quite be replicated within the limits of SL, or at least within the limits of my SL capabilities

Pila Mulligan: so people came form all the islands to the site and wlaked a couple of miles uphill throguth the forest to get there

Pila Mulligan: at the top there were chants and a ceremony and then each rock was used to build an altar

Pila Mulligan: as it completed, there began a light rain sprinkle, as most people hoped
