The Guardian for this meeting was Sylectra Darwin. The comments are, however by stevenaia Michinaga who arrived late for his Guardian post.  My special thanks to Sylectra Darwin for warming up the attendees before my arrival.

Sylectra Darwin arrived with Pila Mulligan

        Sylectra Darwin: hey Pila.
        Pila Mulligan: hi Sylectra
        Sylectra Darwin: howza doin?
Pila Mulligan: fine thanks, and you?
Sylectra Darwin: pretty good! went to the diner and now having some wine
Sylectra Darwin: watching the big lebowski.
        Pila Mulligan: :)
Pila Mulligan: in Hawaiian pidgin, 'howza doin?' would be simply howzit?
        Sylectra Darwin: heh, I likey.
        Pila Mulligan: :)
Pila Mulligan: I never saw the big lebowski, but I like the Coen brothers
Sylectra Darwin: We just saw the appearance of John Turturro, who was also in Oh Brother Where Art Thou?
Sylectra Darwin: Wearing purple and pink.
Pila Mulligan: :) that was quite film :) O Brother
Sylectra Darwin: I loved it. Actually one of my faves of all time.
        Pila Mulligan: yep
        Sylectra Darwin: great soundtrack too.
        Pila Mulligan: indeed
Sylectra Darwin: I've had the day from hell
Sylectra Darwin: These clients are so demanding and the sales staff has not correctly set their expectations about what I am doing.
        Pila Mulligan: sounds morbidly interesting
Pila Mulligan: perhpas the sales staff was mor einterested in sales than expectatoins :)
        Sylectra Darwin: indeed.
Sylectra Darwin: It's the same old tired story. i won't bore you with it but suffice it to say I feel like a chew toy.
Pila Mulligan: well, I hope you can negotiate a peaceful ending

Corvuscorva Nightfire and     Stargate Tone arrive.

Sylectra Darwin: Hi Stargate, hi Corvi.
Pila Mulligan: hi Star and Corvi
Corvuscorva Nightfire: Hi, Pila, Syl, Star!
        Sylectra Darwin: welcome.
Pila Mulligan: how are you? (both) having determined already that Syl had the day from hell
Sylectra Darwin: Star, have you hung out with us at PaB here?
Stargate Tone: Hi Pila and Sylectra
        Stargate Tone: rehi Cor :)
        Stargate Tone: few times yes
Stargate Tone: since it's beginning :)
Stargate Tone: but...well...dont mind about me much....
        Sylectra Darwin: oh god.
        Sylectra Darwin: sorry, good.
Sylectra Darwin: typing is broken today
        Pila Mulligan: I was wondering?
        Sylectra Darwin: hehe
Pila Mulligan: oh god, is that a UFO landing in my yeard -- or something
        Stargate Tone: in RL ?
Corvuscorva Nightfire looks out Pila's window..are you ok Pila?
Pila Mulligan: no, i was just commenting on what I thought when Syl's typo appeared as 'oh god'
        Corvuscorva Nightfire laugs.
Pila Mulligan: all is well here
        Stargate Tone: lol
Stargate Tone: so no alien attack :)
        Pila Mulligan: not yet :)
        Corvuscorva Nightfire grins.
Pila Mulligan: not even a hint of one
Stargate Tone: or should I say ;(
Sylectra Darwin: ooh, an alien visitation would be interesting.
Pila Mulligan: I wonder what a vote of PaB would be on the question of 'wouold you like to be visited by space aliens?'
        Pila Mulligan: probably 90% yes
        Corvuscorva Nightfire laughs.
        Sylectra Darwin: shall we?
        Corvuscorva Nightfire: depends.
Pila Mulligan: here, the four of us?
        Corvuscorva Nightfire nods.
        Sylectra Darwin: I'm a yes.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: my vote is "depends"
        Pila Mulligan votes yes
Pila Mulligan: Star, wouold you like to be visited by space aliens?
Pila Mulligan: opps, maybe she was
Pila Mulligan: what would it depend on Corvi?
        Pila Mulligan: friendliness?
        Corvuscorva Nightfire nods..well..sorta
Corvuscorva Nightfire: friendly to an alien might be scary to me!
Pila Mulligan: I'd certainly pass on the Borg, or their cousins
        Corvuscorva Nightfire: exactly
        Pila Mulligan: wb Star
Corvuscorva Nightfire: and...they might just see that as love..."be a part of my being!"
Corvuscorva Nightfire: when i want not to be....
        Stargate Tone: ty
Pila Mulligan: let me embrace you ... and make you mine ... reisistance is futile
        Sylectra Darwin: haha
Corvuscorva Nightfire nods, wide eyed, grinning.
        Corvuscorva Nightfire: yeah
        Corvuscorva Nightfire: like that.
        Corvuscorva Nightfire: scary
Pila Mulligan: would you like to be visited by space aliens, Star?
Stargate Tone: sry; as my laptop crashed
        Stargate Tone: worked with that
        Pila Mulligan: :)
Stargate Tone: need to roll them lines
Stargate Tone: oh wow; would love to
        Pila Mulligan: :)
Pila Mulligan: I suspect most PaB folks would like the idea, on freindly terms at least
Corvuscorva Nightfire: i just think sometimes one must be careful of friendly aliens.
        Corvuscorva Nightfire nodsnods.
Stargate Tone: ah...you see; there's so much rumors of bad aliens...but I take that in case some space beings would've like to destroy earth or people , they would've have done that already ages ago :)
        Pila Mulligan: logical
Pila Mulligan: so much has been written and made into science fiction movies, we've got a wide range of possibilites already in mind
Sylectra Darwin: i am in favor of friendly aliens.
        Corvuscorva Nightfire: hmmph
        Corvuscorva Nightfire grins.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: i just don't know.
Pila Mulligan: how do you approahc the idea of being careful of friendly aliens, Corvi?
        Pila Mulligan: 'Greeks Bearing Gifts'?
Corvuscorva Nightfire: i think one must pay attention to the aliens ideas of what is.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: they are as likely to see it from a point of view as we are.
Pila Mulligan: if one can understand them :)
        Corvuscorva Nightfire nods.
        Corvuscorva Nightfire: exactly.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: not greeks bearing gifts.
        Pila Mulligan: I see
Corvuscorva Nightfire: those greeks were not friendly.
        Corvuscorva Nightfire grins.
Pila Mulligan: more "That's Greek ot Me"
        Corvuscorva Nightfire laughs.
        Pila Mulligan: to*
Sylectra Darwin: did you guys see Mars Attacks?
        Pila Mulligan: not me
Sylectra Darwin: those funny alien fans gathering...
Pila Mulligan: my favorite alien story is Stranger in a Strange Land -- and it involved an expatriate earthling
        Corvuscorva Nightfire nodsnods.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: we've talked about that one here before.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: as Adelene and i both like it too.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: and apparantely some other folks.
Pila Mulligan: it is quite a story
        Corvuscorva Nightfire nods.
        Sylectra Darwin: Hello Lazarus.
        Pila Mulligan: speaking of Heinlein
        Pila Mulligan: hi Lazarus
        Stargate Tone: hi Lazarus
        Stargate Tone: hm
Stargate Tone: Ur an alien ?
Pila Mulligan: welcome to Second Life
        Sylectra Darwin: join us?
Pila Mulligan: one of Heinlien's best sci-fi characters was an ageless fellow named Lazarus Long
        Sylectra Darwin: cool name.
        Stargate Tone: agree
        Lazarus Longfall: Thanks
Pila Mulligan: do you know how to sit on a mat?
        Pila Mulligan: there
Pila Mulligan: I'm giving you a notecard about this place, Lazarus
        Lazarus Longfall: Thanks
Pila Mulligan: there are chat sessions here 4 times a day, every six hours
        Lazarus Longfall: I am new
Pila Mulligan: there is a log of the chats posted on a website
Pila Mulligan: so hopefully you do ont mind if your comments are also recorded -- do you?
        Lazarus Longfall: No
Pila Mulligan: we were talking about sicence fiction -- the topics are pretty varied here
Sylectra Darwin: lazarus are you a fan of heinlein?
Pila Mulligan: I would think he must be, although he poofed before he could say
        Pila Mulligan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lazarus_Long
        Sylectra Darwin: ah well
        Sylectra Darwin: maybe connection troubles.
Pila Mulligan: what was the Heinlein novel that had a separate reality ofr every story that had ever been told?
        Corvuscorva Nightfire nods.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: i like that one...
Corvuscorva Nightfire: i can't remember the name
        Pila Mulligan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Num..._Beast_(novel)
        Stargate Tone: hm
Stargate Tone: occured to my mind....
Sylectra Darwin: I was so young when I read it. I dont think I got it completely.
Stargate Tone: as I've been thinking already long time, that there's no fairytail without at least a seed of the truth...
Pila Mulligan: he was an excellent story teller
        Pila Mulligan: true, Star
Stargate Tone: but sure the seed can be also some fear of some person's mind....

        stevenaia Michinaga arrives

        Sylectra Darwin: heyy steven!
Stargate Tone: or will to create fear...
        Pila Mulligan: hi Steve
        stevenaia Michinaga: hello
        Stargate Tone: Hello steve :)***
        Corvuscorva Nightfire: Hi steve!
Corvuscorva Nightfire: what a nice surprise!
stevenaia Michinaga: hello Star, Sylectra, Corvi, Pila
stevenaia Michinaga: I jsut got back from a day in the city
Sylectra Darwin: I've been corrupting your wednesday group!
stevenaia Michinaga: hehe, nothing I alread didn;t do
Pila Mulligan: we just had a brief visit by a newbie (SL birthday today) named Lazarus Longfall
Pila Mulligan: he poofed before we could find out if his name is from the Heinlien sci-fi character
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, we get many fly bys on thursday
        stevenaia Michinaga: many
stevenaia Michinaga: so what was the topic for tonight?
Pila Mulligan: science fiction and space aliens
Pila Mulligan: how timely for Lazarus to appear :)
stevenaia Michinaga: which one of us will admit we are that?
Pila Mulligan: no one so far :)
Sylectra Darwin: It was really an interesting coincidence.
Sylectra Darwin: There was the question we polled the group.
Pila Mulligan: would you like to be visited by space aliens?
Sylectra Darwin: How would you feel about a visit from a space alien? In favor or against?
Pila Mulligan: do you rememebr Heinlein's character Lazarus Long, Steve?
stevenaia Michinaga: it;s been a very long time since I read Heinlein
        Sylectra Darwin: Me too Steven.
Pila Mulligan: well, the appearance of Lazarus Long**** in the middle of the chat must qualify as some type of Big Deal :)
        Pila Mulligan: synchronicity maybe
Sylectra Darwin: Wasnt there some really strange relationship between Lazarus and the female relatives?
        Pila Mulligan: yes
Pila Mulligan: he lived so long he married some of his grandchildren
stevenaia Michinaga: does she have a wiki page (clif notes)
        Sylectra Darwin: She?
        Corvuscorva Nightfire: does he
        stevenaia Michinaga: he
        Corvuscorva Nightfire: not doe she
        stevenaia Michinaga: :)
        Corvuscorva Nightfire grins.
        Pila Mulligan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lazarus_Long
Pila Mulligan: Steve, would you like to be visited by space aliens?
stevenaia Michinaga: I may have already, most of my friends for instance
        Pila Mulligan: :)
stevenaia Michinaga: you know who you are
Corvuscorva Nightfire whaps Steve with a pillow
        Pila Mulligan: resistance is futile
Corvuscorva Nightfire whaps Pila for good measure
        Corvuscorva Nightfire: just in case
Pila Mulligan: now some Vulcans like Spock might be fun to meet
        Corvuscorva Nightfire: /em nods.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: that' one..i'd like to meet.
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, corvi, the pillow alien test works every time
        Corvuscorva Nightfire nodsnods.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: that's why i use it so often.
Pila Mulligan: pointy ears release pillow feathers
        stevenaia Michinaga: I've heard that
Corvuscorva Nightfire nods. i found that to be true.
stevenaia Michinaga: it becomes a problem with elfs
Corvuscorva Nightfire looks very serious as she says this
stevenaia Michinaga: they have pointy ears too
Corvuscorva Nightfire nods. a discrimination problem
Pila Mulligan: but would elves but much different from, say, Vulcans as aliens
Corvuscorva Nightfire: how to tell the aliens from the elves?
        Pila Mulligan: yes
        Corvuscorva Nightfire nods.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: the pillow test doesn't work for that.
Pila Mulligan: some interesting science fiction has been written on the sceince of non-carbon based alien sepices
        Pila Mulligan: species*
        Pila Mulligan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alternative_biochemistry
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, say that star trek too
        stevenaia Michinaga: saw
        stevenaia Michinaga: pre-dates wiki page
Pila Mulligan: the Horta in the original Star Trek episode "Devil in the Dark"
Pila Mulligan: ... down toward the bottom :
Pila Mulligan: A highly intelligent silicon-based creature made almost entirely of pure rock, it tunnels through rock as easily as humans move through air. The entire species dies out every 50,000 years save for one who tends all the eggs, which take the form of silicon nodules scattered throughout the caverns and tunnels of its home planet, Janus VI.
stevenaia Michinaga: you memorize all the story plot lines?
        stevenaia Michinaga: (like me)
Pila Mulligan: no, that was form the wiki :)
        Corvuscorva Nightfire: no you don't?!
Pila Mulligan: I think I've seen them all thouogh
stevenaia Michinaga: oh, I can usually name that episode in on orbit
        stevenaia Michinaga: one
Pila Mulligan: in Star Trek: The Next Generation, the Crystalline Entity appeared in two episodes: -------
        Stargate Tone: hmmm
Stargate Tone: capten Nemo....was a fiction...
Pila Mulligan: the orbital clcok is ticking ... dee ddee de tee de te dee dee tee
Stargate Tone: today there's many 'Nautilus'....
Pila Mulligan: yep, fiction can become fact, Star
Stargate Tone: thought many times so also, that what people imagine as the fiction...that can 'one day' be reality
        Stargate Tone: lol
Pila Mulligan: like the transporter on Star Trek ... some say quantum phsycis will allow it
Stargate Tone: but thought the first time that thinking Star Treck...
Stargate Tone: well; the moment when human mind finds out how that happenes :)***
Stargate Tone: and can create the fromla for other's to understand :)
Sylectra Darwin: Guys, I have to leave at 7 to get the car in for an inspection, so I have to jet.
Sylectra Darwin: Please stay and enjoy.
        Sylectra Darwin: :)

        Sylectra Darwin: you too.
        Stargate Tone: smiles *
Pila Mulligan: maintaining the balance of the cushions
        Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: i could have moved in.
Pila Mulligan: still can, Corvi :)
        Pila Mulligan: there
        stevenaia Michinaga: I read you
        Corvuscorva Nightfire grins.
        Corvuscorva Nightfire: good job.
        Stargate Tone: smiles wider :)***
Corvuscorva Nightfire: i think i was being lazy, Pila.
Pila Mulligan: this could make an interesting game
        Corvuscorva Nightfire laughs.
        stevenaia Michinaga: musical pillows?
        Stargate Tone: lol
        Pila Mulligan: :)
        stevenaia Michinaga: boy girl?
Pila Mulligan: well, some PaBers make it a balance arrangement
Stargate Tone: ah; now two boys are sheltered with girls :)***
Pila Mulligan: yes, Steve, our flanks are covered
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, a very comfy place for me
        Stargate Tone: hmm
stevenaia Michinaga: a stevie and pila sandwich of sorts
Stargate Tone: one of my friend asked if somebody has said something about my looks...
        stevenaia Michinaga: here?
        Stargate Tone: yea
        stevenaia Michinaga: like snow white?
        stevenaia Michinaga: or a goddess
Stargate Tone: as that is so many times that men have no right words in case woman (wife/gf) does something that she's more pretty
Stargate Tone: specially if the man has lied her to be pretty before :)****
Stargate Tone: and oh yes; I know I was ugly :)***
Pila Mulligan: why dear you're looking especially beautiful
        stevenaia Michinaga: ..smiles
Stargate Tone: and that's cuz of my this friend who helped me to turn to be pretty :)***
stevenaia Michinaga: but you always were
Stargate Tone: ah yes,,,maybe he was also polite saying, that now I look more of myself...but ...that one can never know for sure :)***
Stargate Tone: well...sure the difference is essential :)
        Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles.
Stargate Tone: I dont mind the truth, but the laugh was for the common way in RL
Stargate Tone: but my friends found even 'right' words *
Stargate Tone: they started to eat candy and spoke about that :)***
        stevenaia Michinaga: "eat candy"?
stevenaia Michinaga: fading here, I think I'm going
stevenaia Michinaga: end of a long day
        Corvuscorva Nightfire: g'night Steve.
        Pila Mulligan: bye Steve
Stargate Tone: Good Night steve :)***
        stevenaia Michinaga: night
