Wol Euler was guardian and commenter for this session.

As soon as I arrived at the Playgoda, my phone rang. By the time I got back in-world, Tarmel was waiting patiently.

    Wol Euler: morning tarmel!
Wol Euler: sorry about that, the phone rang just as I sat down
Tarmel Udimo: hye there no worries, I've been cleaning up my inventory...:)
    Wol Euler: :)
Tarmel Udimo: how are we today
Wol Euler: also a worthy occupation
    Tarmel Udimo: nods
Wol Euler: pretty well, thanks. Having a day off
    Tarmel Udimo: nice
    Tarmel Udimo: hey there Fael
Fael Illyar: Hi Wol, Tarmel :)
Wol Euler: which will mean a day spent doing other work in other places, but still ...
    Wol Euler: hello Fael
    Tarmel Udimo: yes like what?
Tarmel Udimo: how are you Fael?
Fael Illyar: I'm well :) How are you?
Wol Euler: producing new downloadable installers for a database program I wrote :)
Tarmel Udimo: good end of a long week:)
Fael Illyar: That's still work that's more of your own choice, right? :)
Tarmel Udimo: osunds like riveting stuff Wol:)
Wol Euler: yeah, it's Friday evening already for you! shabbat shalom.
Wol Euler: yes, and yes :)
Fael Illyar: I had a rather busy work day yesterday.
    Wol Euler: mm?
Tarmel Udimo: In Sl or RL Fael?
    Fael Illyar: RL :)
Tarmel Udimo: what do you do?
Fael Illyar: sysadmin things for an internet service provider
Fael Illyar: all work remotely from home though
    Faenik: Ah :)
    Wol Euler: hey, faenik's back!
    Tarmel Udimo: hi Faenik!
    Faenik: Hellow ^^
Tarmel Udimo: I think I need a little creature
Tarmel Udimo: I'm going to check out the Feral sim aftre this
    Fael Illyar smiles.
    Wol Euler: more RP?
Tarmel Udimo: you go explore with out being a Feral until Friday midnight I think
    Tarmel Udimo: nawwww
    Tarmel Udimo: more Tarmel fantasy
Wol Euler grins. Now I'm curious
    Wol Euler: +c
Tarmel Udimo: changing into other creatures
    Fael Illyar smiles.
    Tarmel Udimo: +C?
    Wol Euler: c+urious
    Tarmel Udimo: ahhh
Tarmel Udimo: sorry thought you'd come up with a new thingy
    Wol Euler chuckles
Fael Illyar wonders when she'll get up to increasing her choice of other creature avatars.
Tarmel Udimo: what have yoiu got Fael?

With this question, all hope of a serious and solemn discussion was lost!

    Fael Illyar: ok, moment :)
    Tarmel Udimo: oh wow
    Tarmel Udimo: a japanese mermaid
Wol Euler: heheheh, haven't seen that before
Fael Illyar: Yes, I bought this, used for a while, even in a couple of PaB meetings and then somehow just forgot it :)
    Tarmel Udimo: very anime
Tarmel Udimo: ohhh:(, a forgotten AV
    Wol Euler: there :)
    Wol Euler: quite appropriate.
    Tarmel Udimo: yes
    Fael Illyar smiles.
Tarmel Udimo: so what else you got
    Tarmel Udimo: great hair Wol:)
    Tarmel Udimo: weeeee
Wol Euler: thanks :) favourite style in a new colour
Tarmel Udimo: humm I bit Crone like:P
    Tarmel Udimo: what was that?
Fael Illyar: a couple of particle effects this came with :)
    Tarmel Udimo: nice
    Wol Euler: fiery mermaid
Tarmel Udimo: yes wouldn't want to mess with her

Tarmel asks about a roleplaying sim we visited together earlier in the week.

Tarmel Udimo: so you still stuck in Ambertown?
Wol Euler: heheh, I suppose I am.
Fael Illyar: expression and some things like eyecolor and shapes are configurable to a degree.
    Tarmel Udimo: ok
Fael Illyar: I ended up choosing one eye blue and other slightly purple
Wol Euler: in point of fact, I was TP'd to the arrival point wehn I next logged in, so I did get teh powercells
Wol Euler: but I'm going ot play it out as though I hadn't done
Tarmel Udimo: oh I wondered about that
    Tarmel Udimo: nods
Wol Euler: yeah, internal TPs are disabled, so to get around you just use the LMTs while "ooc"
Wol Euler: (we're talking about a sci-fi RP sim that we explored a few days ago, I got sucked into the story line)
    Fael Illyar: Ah :)
Wol Euler: TPing always puts you at the forum
    Fael Illyar: LMT?
Wol Euler: light something transport :)
Wol Euler: TP alternative within the sense and structure of hte RP
Tarmel Udimo: please let me know when you're next going in, so i can hoover
Wol Euler: so that you can only arrive at set places in specified ways
Fael Illyar: nice to see Tarmel getting into things in SL as well :)
Wol Euler: spaceports are always so dirty :)
Tarmel Udimo: ok I give you both permission to berate me at what a slow newbie I've been:)
    Wol Euler: naaah
Fael Illyar: can't do much about people camming around, except building the place such that camming around is extremely tedious.
Fael Illyar has seen one such sim.
    Fael Illyar: RP one :)
Wol Euler nods. Sure, but camming is invisible and so doesn't disturb the RP of others present
Tarmel Udimo: did you mean dirty as in sexy or dirty as in dirt?
Wol Euler: dirty as in dirt :) Hoover = UK-English for Vacuum cleaner
    Fael Illyar: ah, phonecall
Tarmel Udimo: that's what i thought... wouldn't want Wol to get her clothers dirty:P
Wol Euler: a contrived joke upon a typo, never mind :)
Wol Euler: so, yes, I am getting involved. It's oddly interesting
Tarmel Udimo: hummm, written the backstory yet?
    Wol Euler: nope, no time.
    Tarmel Udimo: nods
Tarmel Udimo: might just be better to make it up on the spot
Wol Euler: I have to do some reading about Exogen itself first, to come up with a good backstory
    Tarmel Udimo: nods
Wol Euler: yes, somebody suggested that. Make the character a bad liar, so that I can simply change what she says as time goes on, without worrying about consistency :)
Tarmel Udimo: hehehe, better to make it real, better RP
    Wol Euler: yeah
Wol Euler: for certain values of "real" ...
Tarmel Udimo: yeah okay minus PaB filter
Wol Euler: I'm neko in the RP, which is going back a long way now. I was a neko in all of SL for my first few months, half a year maybe.
Wol Euler: then stopped when I discovered AVid and sexy elegance :)
    Tarmel Udimo: nods
    Tarmel Udimo: heheheheh
Tarmel Udimo: you'll soon outgrow that
    Fael Illyar: :)
    Wol Euler: maybe ...
    Tarmel Udimo: WB fael
Tarmel Udimo: yeah you'll get into RP and become some weird space station wizard or something:)
    Wol Euler grins
Fael Illyar: Anyhow, this mermaid doll AV is kind of my cute overflow AV :P
Tarmel Udimo: yum, just finished off the last of the easter egg
Wol Euler: ha, I still have a pile of chocolate left
Fael Illyar: although, I somehow managed to achieve similar level with my normal AV too :)
    Tarmel Udimo: yeah its real cute Fae;
Wol Euler squeezes the mermaid gently to produce another stream of bubbles
Tarmel Udimo: yeah you've gone down the cute path with fael:P

Personal space, hugs and touches, culture.

Fael Illyar: Somehow feels just natural to settle on someone's lap with this AV :)
    Wol Euler smiles and nods
Tarmel Udimo: hording are we ? - the chocolate?
Wol Euler: no, just eating slowly
Fael Illyar has a pile of chocolae and candies too.
Tarmel Udimo: you like being on someone's lap fael
Tarmel Udimo: you're a lap junkie
    Wol Euler: heheheh
    Fael Illyar: seems so :)
Wol Euler: well, perhaps we all would be if we could
Tarmel Udimo: yeah i eat slow too, this has been in the fridge for at least 4 days
    Fael Illyar: Tarmel's turn :)
    Tarmel Udimo: yikes
    Wol Euler grins
Wol Euler: funny how "personal space" applies here in SL just as much as RL
Tarmel Udimo: hahaha fael, that's clever
Wol Euler: as when somebody sist on you or stands to close
    Fael Illyar: clever?
    Tarmel Udimo: under the arms
    Fael Illyar: Yep :)
Tarmel Udimo: oh yes personal space
Tarmel Udimo: I can be a bit touchy feely in RL if I really know the person
Tarmel Udimo: nothing wrong with hugs
Tarmel Udimo: and sliding onto laps
Wol Euler nods. Much right wiht them, in fact
    Fael Illyar: :)
    Tarmel Udimo: ?
Wol Euler: hugging and other nonsexual body contact strengthens your immune system
    Tarmel Udimo: hehehehe
    Fael Illyar: sexual contact doesn't?
    Wol Euler: perhaps :)
Wol Euler: it need not be sexual, is the point of the report I read
Wol Euler: hugging a friend is as good as hugging a loved one
    Tarmel Udimo: sure
Fael Illyar: Ah, you expressed it in a confusing way then :)
    Wol Euler: perhaps
Fael Illyar kind of read from that that "sexual contact won't do it".
    Tarmel Udimo: it was very.....
Wol Euler: oh no, not at all.
Wol Euler: perhaps the phrasing was north-american uptight: "Don't panic dear reader, I'm not about to encourage you to have sex"
    Fael Illyar: Haha :)
    Tarmel Udimo: hehehe
Tarmel Udimo: thats right fael, you're from one of those liberated countries
Wol Euler: it's a strange paradox that the nation that consumes and produces the most porn and drugs, is also among the most puritanical and prudish
    Tarmel Udimo: nods
Fael Illyar: no paradox at all :)
    Wol Euler: phone brb
Fael Illyar: just the natural consequence
Tarmel Udimo: humm as in Victorian era
Tarmel Udimo: uptight on the outside, wicked on the inside
Fael Illyar: the more you try to deny something, the stronger that something becomes.
    Tarmel Udimo: nods
Fael Illyar: applies in societies as well
    Tarmel Udimo: yes
Tarmel Udimo: too many rules and not enough common sense
Tarmel Udimo: its also about control
Fael Illyar: more like too extreme rules I'd say
Tarmel Udimo: well thinking you can make a rule about same sex aprtners for instance
Tarmel Udimo: surely, thats up to two consenting adults
Tarmel Udimo: and whay can't they get married etc
Fael Illyar: Yep, I don't see how it's anyone else's business what they do together... as long as they're not injuring each other.
    Wol Euler: back, reading
Tarmel Udimo: or rules for women that are different from men's rules
    Tarmel Udimo: WB
    Fael Illyar: wb :)
Tarmel Udimo: the whole idea that women had to even fight for their rights has always made me crazy
Wol Euler: much of early culture and most of religion can be read as men attempting to control women's sexuality.
Fael Illyar: That's just the way things have been. No helping that. Can only change what is now
Tarmel Udimo: yes that's true fael, doesn't change the feelings it brings up fro women
Wol Euler: because it scares the hell out of them :)
Tarmel Udimo: yes, I suspect its more about men gaining power taking over a matriarchal society which was peaceful
Tarmel Udimo: and then needing to conquer and control, not just women but everything
Wol Euler: "men create chaos because they can't create babies". Golda Meir, I think...
Fael Illyar: none of that is strictly male or female characteristics though.
Fael Illyar: much to do with culture, that too
Wol Euler: yes, fael, also true.
Tarmel Udimo: I think there is something intriniscally male and something instrinically female
Tarmel Udimo: and yes we have both aspects or can cultivate both aspects
Fael Illyar: intrinsically, yes, but everyone, male and female has both intrinsics.
    Wol Euler: mmhmm
Fael Illyar: just te strengths differ
Wol Euler: and which of them we allow ourselves to express
Tarmel Udimo: and these differences are important and when developed to their highest power can produce enlighten beings in both genders

    Other different avs on display.

Fael Illyar: Time to show some other shapes too I guess :)
    Tarmel Udimo: yep
Wol Euler: ah, I remember this!
Wol Euler: not htese colours though ...
Tarmel Udimo: that is really beautiful
Fael Illyar: This is something I just had to buy :)
    Tarmel Udimo: ****Howlllzzzzzzzz****
    Tarmel Udimo: ****Howlllzzzzzzzz****
Tarmel Udimo: wow no this is wonderful
Wol Euler: I love the soft flexy butterfly wings holding up this huge heavy lizard
    Wol Euler: NPIRL indeed
Tarmel Udimo: (without being simplistic about it, women or open and men penetrate end of story:)
    Tarmel Udimo: NPIRL?
    Wol Euler grins
Wol Euler: Not Possible In Real Life
    Tarmel Udimo: ahhh
    Tarmel Udimo: yes if only
Fael Illyar: different color versions available :)
    Tarmel Udimo: nice
Tarmel Udimo: this would have taken a lot to create no?
Fael Illyar: Yes, most likely :)
Wol Euler: oh yes, a huge amount of time and effort.
Tarmel Udimo: I want to learn how to do that
Wol Euler: yet they are actually quite cheap (Grendel's Children)
Wol Euler: most avs there are under $200 compared with about $800 for an outfit at RFyre or AVid
Tarmel Udimo: I've been there a few times now but could never make my mind up
    Tarmel Udimo: nods
    Tarmel Udimo: ahhh the globe
Fael Illyar: this was a freebie from somewhere.
Fael Illyar: oh, typing "animation" :)
    Tarmel Udimo: nice, like it
Fael Illyar: if you're not feeling like being too complex, this works :)
    Tarmel Udimo: can you move?
    Tarmel Udimo: hehehe
Tarmel Udimo: yes one letter thoughts
    Tarmel Udimo: oh oh

I changed into a "satellite" av that I had started to build.

Tarmel Udimo: have to go Wol?
Fael Illyar: joining the fun and changing AV I think :)
    Tarmel Udimo: oh
Fael Illyar: this is a ghostly AV :)
Fael Illyar: pretty simple though :)
    Tarmel Udimo: yes very impressive
    Tarmel Udimo: oh wol-e
    Wol Euler: :)
    Tarmel Udimo: very unyou :)
Fael Illyar: oh, Wol's got a ball AV too :)
Wol Euler: yes, it feels quite cold and uncomfortable
Wol Euler: that's why I gave up working on it
Wol Euler: I need to have skin and hair to feel comfortable in SL

Fael has the best av of the day though: A book, complete with turning pages and bookmark.

Tarmel Udimo: a book and a ball
Wol Euler: oh wow, Fael, that is marvellous.
Tarmel Udimo: yes it is unique
Fael Illyar: this one is a 1Lbie from Grendel's Children :)
Wol Euler: wow! need need covet covet
    Tarmel Udimo: wow

Constance joins us, and gives the conversation a nudge towards literature.

    Fael Illyar: Hello Constance :)
Tarmel Udimo: hehehe its very you too wol
Wol Euler: yes, it could be!
Tarmel Udimo: you even get the space to rock
Fael Illyar: you can hide on the ground too :)
    Wol Euler: :)
    Tarmel Udimo: Hi Constance
Fael Illyar: the perfect hide in plain sight AV :)
    Wol Euler: hello constance
    Tarmel Udimo: must remember
Tarmel Udimo: an AV after your own taste - Wol
    Wol Euler: very much so.
    Wol Euler: heheh
Tarmel Udimo: i was going to step on the book and see what happened
    Fael Illyar: Oh :)
    Constance Fairport: hello
Wol Euler: don't mind us, we were just having fun with alternate avs :)
Tarmel Udimo: can't stand on you Fael
Constance Fairport: don't mind me, i'm just wandering around before breakfast

During this time, I was reading Constance's profile and considering her avatar.

Wol Euler: is "The Mills of God" a roleplay sim in SL?
Constance Fairport: no --- a book available in hardcover
Constance Fairport: although a sim in SL might not be a bad idea
    Constance Fairport: wow!!
Wol Euler: Constance, you've got a personal shape, good clothes and hair, an AO, a photo of yourself in your profile -- and you're only 18 days old? You're either an alt or a _very_ fast learner :)
Constance Fairport: this is like a dream i had once
    Tarmel Udimo: wow is right
    Tarmel Udimo: yes Constance?
    Constance Fairport: alt?
Fael Illyar smiles and keeps flapping.
    Tarmel Udimo: your dream?
Constance Fairport: no --- i was in sl about a year ago and killed off my character
    Wol Euler: ah :)
Constance Fairport: this time i knew what i wanted and joined a lot of groups quickly
Wol Euler nods. Many people do start again ...
Constance Fairport: and this outfit is in honor of spring --- it seemed like a good idea at the time
    Tarmel Udimo: looks good
    Constance Fairport: i feel better...
    Wol Euler: good!
    Constance Fairport: jeez
    Constance Fairport: don't sting me!
Fael Illyar: this one tends to scare people a bit :)
    Tarmel Udimo: yes it would
Constance Fairport: the extent of my "walks on the wild side" amount to trying on new outfits
    Wol Euler smiles.
Tarmel Udimo: well sounds like Wol
Wol Euler: we were talking about that earlier, actually. Fael changes much more than tarmel or I
Wol Euler: we stay human/female almost all the time
Constance Fairport: oh my god, you're a flea?
    Tarmel Udimo: beetle?
Fael Illyar: just a beetle :)
    Constance Fairport: oh
Constance Fairport: i'm not up on my entymology
    Constance Fairport: a t-rex?
    Constance Fairport: a baby one
    Fael Illyar: baby t-rex :)
Tarmel Udimo: ahhh back to swamp era
    Constance Fairport: or a velociraptor
    Tarmel Udimo: watch out Wol
    Constance Fairport: lol
    Tarmel Udimo: ****Howlllzzzzzzzz****
    Wol Euler: heheh
    Constance Fairport: hear me roar
    Tarmel Udimo: nice doggy
Constance Fairport: i'm a cat person myself
    Tarmel Udimo: yes me too
Tarmel Udimo: well an animal person:)
Tarmel Udimo: ahh back to Fael again

    Constance notices the autologger.

Constance Fairport: our brilliant remarks are being recorded?
    Wol Euler: not necessarily :)
Wol Euler: I can filter it out of the log, we stopped the serious discusion long ago
Fael Illyar: Yes, not necessarily :)
Wol Euler: insofar as it ever actually started, today ...
Fael Illyar: we had serious discussion? :)
    Wol Euler: exactly.
Constance Fairport: what do you talk about when you're serious
Tarmel Udimo: yes my very Q:)
Wol Euler: well, in theory this is the 1am meeting of a meditation and discussion group called Play as Being
Wol Euler: we gather to discuss our practices and matters arising from them
Constance Fairport: i have a lot of interests: philosophy, poetry, mathematics
Wol Euler: but Friday mornings are often just chat
    Tarmel Udimo: nods
Wol Euler: and yes, the meetings are recorded and published on our website.
Wol Euler: Not however without consent, which is why I said it could be edited out.
Constance Fairport: i don't mind anyone reading what i have to saY --- for what it's worth
Wol Euler: Constance, may we ahve your permission to include your name and comments in the published log?
    Wol Euler: ty :)
    Constance Fairport: sure!
    Wol Euler: crosstyping :)
Wol Euler: I'll give you a notecard that says a bit about who we are.
    Constance Fairport: thanks
    Fael Illyar: :)
    Constance Fairport: here's a poem
    Wol Euler: ty
Constance Fairport: i love the discussions at the kira cafe
    Fael Illyar smiles.
    Wol Euler: ah!
    Fael Illyar: Nice poem :)
Wol Euler: then you already are vaguely associated with us, PaB is a child of Kira
    Constance Fairport: thanks!
Fael Illyar: PaB has meetings here every day at 1am, 7am, 1pm and 7pm
Fael Illyar: And no, not everyone is present in every meeting :)
Constance Fairport: ok, i'll be here when I can
Tarmel Udimo: back, loveley poem Constance
Constance Fairport: i've gone to some wonderful meetings where someone knocks on my office door and says "meeting starting in 5 minutes, get a move on"
Constance Fairport: i mean i have to disconnect immedately
    Wol Euler nods
    Wol Euler: RL happens...
Tarmel Udimo: my grandmother's name was Constance
Tarmel Udimo: its one of those lovely old fashioned ones
Constance Fairport: so was my favority aunt
    Tarmel Udimo: nods
Constance Fairport: a minor movie star
    Fael Illyar: :)
Tarmel Udimo: is the Mills of God good?
    Constance Fairport: absolutely!
Wol Euler: I was just about to ask :)
    Wol Euler: what's it about?
Constance Fairport: it's gotten a few good reviews
    Wol Euler: (shall we sit?)
    Constance Fairport: let's
Constance Fairport: it begins with a murder
Constance Fairport: then, later (15 years) my parents die in a suspicious car accident
Constance Fairport: i'm the last in the Fairchild line
Wol Euler nods. An interesting start.
    Tarmel Udimo: nods
Constance Fairport: (in the sequel, I learn that my grandfather may have murdered my parents)
    Wol Euler: o.O
Constance Fairport: i'm sent away to a swiss bording school (and not allowed to go to the funeral)
    Tarmel Udimo: ok
Constance Fairport: i have always believed that i was reincarnated
Constance Fairport: (the first line of the original version of the novel was)
    Constance Fairport: I was 12w when I realized i was a ghost
    Tarmel Udimo: wow nice
    Wol Euler: wow

(At this point I was interrupted by work, and by the time I was finished I had both crashed out of SL and run down my laptop's battery. Fael, Tarmel and Constance carried on without me.)

Constance Fairport: several publishers insisted on it being changed (is she like Casper the Friendly ghost --- i don't get it)
Constance Fairport: in switzerland I make the first friends i ever have and find odd clues to my past life
Constance Fairport: i find things left over from it
    Tarmel Udimo: BRB
Constance Fairport: my grandfather dies, leaving everything to me
Constance Fairport: but i have to contend with his evil minions --- who want to take over
Constance Fairport: they can't --- easily --- because the family corporation's charter says all strategic decisions must be approved by a Fairchild
Constance Fairport: my grandfather's effort to protect me
Constance Fairport: they find a way --- though --- by killing me in a particular way
Constance Fairport: going further would be Telling
Constance Fairport: anyway --- there's also a sequel (and two more in the works)
Fael Illyar: sounds quite a twisty tale :)
Constance Fairport: it is a convoluted plot
Constance Fairport: oh --- the person whose book i'm promoting is stirring
Constance Fairport: i'll have to go --- but it was wonderful meeting you guys! I'll be back
Fael Illyar: Sure, see you later Constance :)
    Constance Fairport: bye
    Tarmel Udimo: back
    Fael Illyar: wb :)
Fael Illyar: Wol crashed I think, Constance left
Tarmel Udimo: oh oh was it me:)
Tarmel Udimo: well I might head over to the Feral place and see what's happening over there
Tarmel Udimo: I think its Lost worlds
Fael Illyar: Sure, see you later Tarmel :)
    Tarmel Udimo: bye fael
