Ferocious Melody: I went shopping this morning with an alternate AV (a male) and was just too frustrated....so the dog/wolf, well she can just BE! :) A relief!

Ferocious Melody: Ah, yes very flaky. For instance I'll have one person who shows up on the friends' list, and yet I'll see many sign on and off...
Ferocious Melody: and then at other times I walk through walls and get stuck... usually that doesn't happen

Ferocious Melody: And I spoke with others who said the same thing..
Kallie Kira: by off I mean not working correctly

Kallie Kira: sure, easy to get so wrapped up that stopping gets left out

Ferocious Melody: Often it isn't until I feel pressure in some way that I notice I haven't stopped. I'll feel the crinkling between my eyes and remember

Kallie Kira: or, maybe better, different ways of stopping?

Kallie Kira: uhhh, not quite getting in words right, maybe different experiential forms of stopping?
Kallie Kira: ok, maybe an example
Kallie Kira: lol

Kallie Kira: for me.... here's a couple of examples,.... I can stop in mid-work, or at the 90sec bell and take some breaths, let go of my stories and streams of info .... like that
Kallie Kira: or another way is when I'm doing something like gardening for example, I have no stories, just digging or watering ....
Kallie Kira: or another way is when at rest, breathing, relaxing and then, .... I'm somewhere, nowhere, elsewhere I guess and then I'm back ...
Kallie Kira: do things like that happen for you?

Scathach Rhiadra: mmm, I get the feeking that when I am really occupied with something, either thinking or doing, and when I stop then, it feels more like really stoppng and dropping, if that makes sense
Scathach Rhiadra: maybe a bigger difference than when I am already relaxed when stopping?
Ferocious Melody: yes that makes sense
Kallie Kira: so the stopping feels more stopped, more significant if you stop when you are busy?
Scathach Rhiadra: yes I think so
Kallie Kira: (gen looks very sleepy indeed :) )
Ferocious Melody: I relate to there being ways of doing things in which whatever you are doing becomes a tool for that stopping. Seems to be very natural at the time and yet takes purposefulness to get into that place/mindset.

Scathach Rhiadra: like slipping into mindfulness
Ferocious Melody: Notice it afterward? Sometimes...yes, Slipping into mindfulness. MM

genesis Zhangsun: but the opposite
Kallie Kira: a little bit gen .... it's not so much a scheduled thing or ok, now I'm going to do the stopping ..... not that kind of space I'm trying to describe
Kallie Kira: not daydreaming like the definition of idleness but similar to how daydreaming starts .... that it softly happens on it's own
Kallie Kira: and you notice it when it's done

Ferocious Melody: It seems to be a by-product of daily mindfulness practice. It is like you show an intention toward that place...and then it responds when you aren't making effort
Ferocious Melody: Like you bring a friend flowers one day, and then months later they show up on your doorstep with a cake
Ferocious Melody: hhehe
Ferocious Melody: Or maybe that's not the best analogy, but it is along the lines
Kallie Kira: mmm, yes, an intention to acknowledge that possibility but it does not require trying
Kallie Kira: does not require trying or doingness
Scathach Rhiadra: mmm, dropping or letting go the desire is freeing
