Eos Amaterasu: He talks about adding another fundatmental dimension to Space and to Time

Eos Amaterasu: which is "knowledge", or "sense", or, to make it one syllable, "mind"
Eos Amaterasu: and gives the example of watching a hand move

Eos Amaterasu: I think the 9 secs, the 90 secs, or whenever :-), can by playing/resting in that triple dimension

Fefonz Quan: what did you think about that idea?
Eos Amaterasu: I think this is an emerging paradigm: that awareness is as fundamtental and irreducible as space, time, energy
Nymf Hathaway: agrees on that
Eos Amaterasu: and that that is more evident in biology and human systems than in physics or chemistry, but no less already there (just as quantum effects are always there, but not necessarily visible)
Eos Amaterasu: it's a major mind shift.... we're just beginning to explore, play with that, such as here
Fefonz Quan: yes it is.
Nymf Hathaway: Never understood why it would be a mindshift though... to me its logic

Fefonz Quan: there are some ancient traditions that take awareness as fundamental too i think

Nymf Hathaway: But I think Eos refers to western society
Fefonz Quan: sure. it never stops to amaze me how the western culture find ideas that are thousands of years old, and celebrate them as new and inginious

Nymf Hathaway: was at a lecture yesterday from a cambridge professor...she was telling us about the history of science and how old it really is.... this fits in it perfectly as to; what was called alchemy.... was acknowledged as science
Eos Amaterasu: It, that kind of awareness was woven into the fabric of economics, etc. Right now that is tolerated but not taken seriously
Nymf Hathaway: I think civilization could find its roots back again....by your example Eos
Nymf Hathaway: roots as in its own nature
Eos Amaterasu: Yes.... and how do we find our root / nature?
Fefonz Quan: in order to fit in economics teh financial people have first to loose so much of what they know, i wonder what will be left
Eos Amaterasu: The financial people are already losing much of what they have (had)
Nymf Hathaway: By listening to once inner voice...if people are honest to themselfs... all answers are within....as for all answers lay in nature
Eos Amaterasu: Some are questioning basic assumptions
Eos Amaterasu: In the 9 secs, 90 secs, we can find our root nature, or play in it, right where we are
Fefonz Quan: yes, they are questioning basic 'economical' assumptions
Nymf Hathaway: Quenstions and thiking critically is perfect...but you can listen to yourself and ask critical questions at the same time

Eos Amaterasu: I used to do an exercise where you slowly moved your arm in an arc over your head
Eos Amaterasu: in one , slow motion
Eos Amaterasu: over 18 minutes....

Eos Amaterasu: It was called, "competing with stillness"
Eos Amaterasu: like here, interplay of solid and open, dense/tight and space
Fefonz Quan: and time, i guess. may invoke another way to look at time and movement
Fefonz Quan: i practice a similar exercise with very slow walking. it makes the 'destination' notion of walking dissolve

Eos Amaterasu: you don't just go through time, you sepnd time in time :-)
Eos Amaterasu: *spend

Fefonz Quan: and this time is earned rather than spent
Eos Amaterasu: by just resting attention :-)

Eos Amaterasu: I know the book, but haven't read it... Pema was referring to it this past Monday

Eos Amaterasu: You can be in the kitchen, putting a dish away, and then there's a little gap
Eos Amaterasu: before the n ext dish
Fefonz Quan: yes, like the end of an exhale

Eos Amaterasu: & things happen, appear, including yourself
Fefonz Quan: yes. i always find bringing it into the motion minutes and life is a major challenge
Eos Amaterasu: finding the slow walk in the fast walk?
Fefonz Quan: mmhmm
Fefonz Quan: finding the stillnes within the motion
Eos Amaterasu: finding openness within appearance
Eos Amaterasu: and play in the interdependence of perceiver / perception : that's tunable, so playable
Eos Amaterasu: you can create forms for openness, that open the perceiver
Fefonz Quan: yes, and very hard to perceive sometimes
Eos Amaterasu: yes, it can be life and death, so we take seriously
Eos Amaterasu: but when death is inevitble, which it is, we can let go (?) - nothing to lose
Fefonz Quan: even then, i guess it is so common to grasp with the remains of force
Eos Amaterasu: but also lots of respect to the details - every detail is also that openness
Eos Amaterasu: even in the 9 secs I grasp and grasp :-)
