    Wol Euler: hello archmage

Fael Illyar: Hi Wol, Arch, Kristiin, Doug :)

    Wol Euler: hello doug, fael

    doug Sosa: hi all.

Wol Euler: archmage, have you been here before?

Fael Illyar: yes he has :)

Wol Euler: ooh, october 2006! an oldie!!

    --BELL--

Fael Illyar: I somehow got interested reading about how teen second life differs from the main grid.

    Wol Euler: mmmm?

    doug Sosa: yes, how?

Fael Illyar: I'm looking at the hoops they have to jump through to sign in to teen grid and wondering how many just lie about their age to avoid the hassle.

Wol Euler: I suspect that is true. My alt sees a lot of people who seem very young, when he's mentoring.

Wol Euler: it's far easier to enter the main grid as a teen than to prove yourself a teen.

    Fael Illyar: yep

    Fael Illyar: Hello Isadora :)

Wol Euler: which is (a) understandable, but (b) totally counterproductive

    Wol Euler: hello isadora

Fael Illyar: Well, they're attempting the impossible anyhow :)

    doug Sosa: hi is

Wol Euler: two days old, welcome to second life :)

Archmage Atlantis: Hello all, was away a moment

Wol Euler: Isadora, have you been here before?

doug Sosa: Is was here last night, fit right in.

Isadora Davidov: Hello everyone...as you can see, I can now make my av sit down

    Wol Euler smiles.

    Fael Illyar smiles.

Wol Euler: [13:02] Fael Illyar: Well, they're attempting the impossible anyhow :)

Wol Euler: true, but htey have to do it, else the American lawyers will eat them.

Fael Illyar: Yes, know that part :)

    doug Sosa: really? Why?

Wol Euler: because they will be accused of letting adults into the teen grid.

    Wol Euler: would/might ...

doug Sosa: Is, we are talking about the teen grid in second life.

Wol Euler: and that would *of course* be a terrible disaster!

    Wol Euler: hello bertram

Isadora Davidov: Oh...a place for teens..they get up to quite a bit in RL

    doug Sosa: hi bert

Archmage Atlantis: Teens are adult children without representation

    Fael Illyar: Hi Bert :)

Wol Euler: sure, but nobody is allowed to say that in the practice of law :)

Isadora Davidov: Hmm...I sometimes feel I am still a child masquerading as a "competent adult"

Archmage Atlantis: Where people go, the law follows, until freedom is lost

    Wol Euler grins and nods

Fael Illyar smiles 'That feeling might stay for a while.'

doug Sosa: rather poetic and true.

Archmage Atlantis: But it does pass

Wol Euler: when I was a kid, I imagined that adults somehow knew everything and understood everything

Wol Euler: and I wondered how this happened, whether somebody gave them a magic book when they turned X years old

    Wol Euler: or whatever

Wol Euler: it hasn't happened yet...

    Fael Illyar: Hi Fox :)

Archmage Atlantis: Some adults know less, I could never understand why they all spoke down to me as if I was unable to understand them

Bertram Jacobus: nice imagination, funny and amiable wol ... :-)

    Fox Monacular: Hi everyone

Bertram Jacobus: hi fox ... :-)

    doug Sosa: Hi fox

Archmage Atlantis: Know I know, most of them did know less

Wol Euler: hello fox, nice to see you

doug Sosa: We are talking about teens.

Isadora Davidov: Through time we gain and lose forms of knowing

Fox Monacular: oh boy, i feel i still am one

    Fox Monacular: yes, I agree

    Fael Illyar: Hi Mick :)

Archmage Atlantis: Give it 50 or 60 years

    Fox Monacular: Hi Mick

    Wol Euler: heh

    Wol Euler: hello mick

    Mickorod Renard: Hiya Guys

Isadora Davidov: But I don't have that much time left!!!

    Isadora Davidov: Hello

    Wol Euler laughs

Fael Illyar: how do you know?

    Fael Illyar smiles.

    Mickorod Renard: hello

Isadora Davidov: WEll, just the actuarial charts...

Archmage Atlantis: yes, Fael, what evidence would you share Isadora

Archmage Atlantis: Those are averages, not you

Archmage Atlantis: Next data point please

doug Sosa: I have very few clues i am over 25 and several that I am not :)

Wol Euler: feel free to tell him that its none of his business, Isadora :)

Isadora Davidov: OK Thank you..I'll just keep this av while my corporeal form continues to WITHER

Isadora Davidov: No I dont mind too much (lol) I used to be sort of cute

Archmage Atlantis: You mean me, Wok

    Archmage Atlantis: Wol, sorry

Wol Euler: it was meant more gently than it came out, sorry, but yes I did :)

Archmage Atlantis: But it was entered by Isadora into the conversation, not by me

    --BELL--

Archmage Atlantis: Fael, you know me fairly well, I did not mean to offend

doug Sosa: cute can with health be replaced with elegant.

Isadora Davidov: Sorry if I transgressed a topical boundary..I was trying to make a sideway's point about the body as time (uji)

Wol Euler: nor did I, sorry.

Fael Illyar: Isadora, no you did not :)

Isadora Davidov: We can see how we embody time or time is embodied in us...and in the transformation from infant to child, etc

Fael Illyar: Arch, I know you didn't mean to offend :)

doug Sosa: I wonder how much our experience of time is changed because of photography, because now we can really see the benefits and ravages of time.

Fox Monacular: I find it funny to think that my children will have thousands (literally) of photos from their infancy and childhood

Isadora Davidov: Wider knowledge afforded us by technology in general (time lapse photography) does tell us an amazing amount

Fox Monacular: and I only have a couple of my infancy pics, and find it uncanny to look at

Fael Illyar: I have none of them, my mother has a book somewhere with quite a few.

Isadora Davidov: Yes, I'm still fascinated by origins, in spite of the postmodern disdain for this search

    Mickorod Renard: I am off,,c u

Wol Euler: bye mick, take care.

    Fox Monacular: bye Mick

    Isadora Davidov: Goodbye

    Fael Illyar: Hi Gaya :)

    Fox Monacular: Hi Gaya

Bertram Jacobus: hey gaya ! wish you a lag free stay ... ;-)

Gaya Ethaniel: Hello :) Sorry for being late.

    Gaya Ethaniel: Thanks Bertram :)

Wol Euler: hello gaya, no worry

    Bertram Jacobus: :-)

    Isadora Davidov: Hello Interesting Being

    Bertram Jacobus: :-)

Archmage Atlantis: Isadora, please tell me if this is a distateful topic, but are you interested in the genetic studies of the origins of umanity?

Bertram Jacobus: uh. now i have the lag - funny :-)

    Gaya Ethaniel: :(

    Isadora Davidov: Of course..

    Bertram Jacobus: (funny!) :-)

    Wol Euler: it's contageous ...

Isadora Davidov: Do you have some specialized training in this area (we all pick up some info from the various media)

Isadora Davidov: genetics I mean (I hardly got beyond crossing the wrinkled pea with the smooth pea)

    Wol Euler: hehehe

Wol Euler remembers red-eyed fruit flies.

doug Sosa: so that's how my parentsdid it!

Isadora Davidov: oh yes, the fertile sexy fruitfly

    Wol Euler: :)

doug Sosa: And the princess and the pea in the middle of the bed. Guess what pea kept her awake that no number of matressescould cure.

    Isadora Davidov: what?

    --BELL--

Fox Monacular: yes! I remember it from my childhood!

    doug Sosa: bye.

Wol Euler: bye doug, take care

    Gaya Ethaniel: Bye doug :)

Archmage Atlantis: Interest yes, specialized knowledge, no......but in pursuit of my genealogy, I did have my x chromosome and mitochondra analyzed

    Archmage Atlantis: I don

    Archmage Atlantis: I dom

    Archmage Atlantis: ugh

    Archmage Atlantis: don

    Archmage Atlantis: neuropathy is yukky

Archmage Atlantis: I don't think that weighty topic fits this conversation tho

Isadora Davidov: WEll, the real princess passes the test (that she is a real princess) becuase the presence of tiny pea keeps her awake even though many mattresses have been piled up for her bed

    Isadora Davidov: yes...not a weighty topic..just a cultural referent

Gaya Ethaniel: What is the topic btw? Genetics?

    Fael Illyar isn't sure.

    Gaya Ethaniel: :)

Wol Euler: we started off with the teen grid, then being a teenager

    Gaya Ethaniel: ah :)

Fael Illyar: See you later Arch :)

Isadora Davidov: somehow we stumbled into time, appearnces, then origins, human genetics

    Gaya Ethaniel: Bye Archmage :)

    Bertram Jacobus: bye archmage

Wol Euler: bye archmage, take care.

    Isadora Davidov: Good bye!

Gaya Ethaniel: Looks like I'm missing lines in my chat window again. ah well ...

Wol Euler: (interesting how we all read intention from pixellized behaviour)

Gaya Ethaniel: oh so he didn't say he was leaving?

Wol Euler: not that I saw.

Gaya Ethaniel: ah ... so I'm not lagging :)

    Bertram Jacobus: no

    Bertram Jacobus: no

    Bertram Jacobus: :-)

Wol Euler: well, that 's not the proof if you are :)

    Gaya Ethaniel: :)

Fael Illyar: Well, he just stood up :)

Wol Euler: my point :) We all read that as intention to leave, which in fact it was.

    Gaya Ethaniel: I didn't ... hm ...

Isadora Davidov: Can we make the avatars dance?

    Gaya Ethaniel: Sure :)

    Fael Illyar: sure :)

Wol Euler: oh, yes! let me give you someting ...

Bertram Jacobus: but what is the proof that we all read intentions from pixellized behaviour ? - ah - the answer came while writing, whereas - we all ? for sure ? ... ;o)

    Wol Euler: wear that, Isadora.

    Bertram Jacobus: lol

Wol Euler: (open your inventory, find it in the "recent items" tab, right-click and select wear)

    Bertram Jacobus: nice :-)

    Wol Euler applauds!

Gaya Ethaniel bows bows "thank you.".

    Fael Illyar smiles.

Wol Euler: the onigokko thingy is a bit of a PaB tradition. It's invisible and totally harmless until somebody says the magic word:

    Wol Euler: onigokko

    Wol Euler: awwwww :)

Fael Illyar: oh, I was still wearing it :)

    Bertram Jacobus: lool

    Wol Euler: heheheheh

    Gaya Ethaniel: :)

    Isadora Davidov: LOL excellent ok

    Wol Euler: stop

Isadora Davidov: ok I give up that is the most hilarious thing I've seen in like forever!

    Wol Euler laughs

    Wol Euler: ty bertram

    Wol Euler: (for the gesture)

    Bertram Jacobus: yvw wol :-)

    Gaya Ethaniel: Chocolate Disco

    Gaya Ethaniel: ty Fael :)

Bertram Jacobus: whaow - nice fael. ty :-)

Bertram Jacobus: and ... does it stop, too ? ;-)

    Fox Monacular: awesome

Wol Euler: I love the way flexi hair actually falls down when I turn over.

Isadora Davidov: fantastic...I want to enter in VR and never leave...you are beautiful dancers!!!!

Fael Illyar: stops when you stop it :)

Bertram Jacobus: lol. ah okay. ty again :-)

Wol Euler: doubleclick on that in your inventory, and a little window opens up. Click on "play in world"

Fael Illyar: (play locally plays it so only you can see)

    Wol Euler: right

Gaya Ethaniel: Linden lost my marakas ...

Isadora Davidov: I will have to study so I can learn this...and get back to my True Self

    Bertram Jacobus: maraka ? what's that ?

    Isadora Davidov: maracas

    Gaya Ethaniel: ty :)

    Wol Euler: the manbo?

    Fael Illyar: yep :)

Gaya Ethaniel nods nods. Got them again!

Isadora Davidov: those Cuban ratlling gourds

    Isadora Davidov: mambo

    Fox Monacular: manbo!

    Isadora Davidov: manbo

    Isadora Davidov: manbo!

    Bertram Jacobus: manbo!

    Fox Monacular: manbo

    Fael Illyar: stop

    Fox Monacular: manbo!

Isadora Davidov: ha hah the best !D

    Gaya Ethaniel: oh yeah

    Bertram Jacobus: manbo!

    --BELL--

    Fael Illyar: stop

Wol Euler: bertram, you are wearing hte "tiny" set, try the otehrs instead.

    Fael Illyar: manbo!

Wol Euler: oh, fox too :)

    Fox Monacular: haha

Fael Illyar: ah, fox, you're wearing the tiny version

Wol Euler: they attach to your elbows, for tiny av figures

    Bertram Jacobus: manbo!

    Bertram Jacobus: stop lol

    Bertram Jacobus: stop

    Fael Illyar: stop

Wol Euler: isadora, you seem a litle left out.

Isadora Davidov: Oh...I stood up and danced..

    Fael Illyar smiles.

    Gaya Ethaniel: In RL? :)

Bertram Jacobus: and ty again fael and wol :-)

Fael Illyar: ah, danced with your RL body :)

Isadora Davidov: I can dance in RL..don't know how in VR

Fox Monacular: thanks everyone for the party! I have to go now, see you all later

    Gaya Ethaniel: Bye Fox :)

Wol Euler: goodnight fox, take care.

Bertram Jacobus: bye fox. have a good time

Fael Illyar: See you later Fox :)

Wol Euler: thanks for playing :)

Isadora Davidov: Good bye wonderful Fox

    Bertram Jacobus: hello leila :-)

    Fox Monacular: good night everyoen

Gaya Ethaniel: Can I ask something?

    Wol Euler: sure

Gaya Ethaniel: How do you develop patience?

Gaya Ethaniel: Somethings I am, somethings I'm not.

Bertram Jacobus: i think by practising it, again and again gaya ...

    Wol Euler: mmhmm

Fael Illyar: patience is accepting that what is, is acceptable, right now.

Gaya Ethaniel: What does that mean in practice Bertram? Give us an example please.

Wol Euler: yes, it has a lot to do with compassion, I think.

Isadora Davidov: When irritating opportunities present, then trying to reamin aware of the building internal irritation, you can mentally recognize the situation and circumstance (opportunity to practice) and consider the benefits of remaining patient and sometimes one can...and avoid a nasty interaction

Gaya Ethaniel: Sure ... there is acceptance part but it involves something more than that I think.

    Isadora Davidov: Yes, please say

Bertram Jacobus: often i notice in daily life that i'm in a situation where i should have patience ... sometimes i notice that my patience "is not enogh" ... all situations to be aware of that and to try to be a bit more patient

Gaya Ethaniel: I'm the one asking :(

Fael Illyar: yes, patience would seem to imply that there is an intention to change something.

    Gaya Ethaniel nods nods.

Isadora Davidov: to see the situation more broadly ( type of change)??

Gaya Ethaniel: I mean what's the difference between intention and goals in practice in this regard.

Fael Illyar: so another way of putting it would be, accepting that right now it's not the way you want and that it's fine.

    Isadora Davidov: Oh...deep

    Isadora Davidov: That's good

Isadora Davidov: But still the term "acceptance " came up...do you mean something else?

Bertram Jacobus: it's also the third of the so called "paramitas" - liberating qualities. and it is said that they all come one after another, not only, but ... the first one is genourosity and the second one ethic. so if one tries to practise them as well - patience should be advocated too

Wol Euler: I'm sorry, I need to get to bed, I have a miserable headache. Goodnight all, take care.

Fael Illyar: for me, the lack of patience sounds like a need to change something right there and then.

Gaya Ethaniel: Good rest Wol :)

Bertram Jacobus: uh. good nite wol !

Fael Illyar: Good night Wol :)

Wol Euler: it was nice meeting you, ISadora

Isadora Davidov: Maybe in the circumstance\

Isadora Davidov: Oh yes, same here I'm sorry you don't feel well

Gaya Ethaniel: Well it's ok to see it's not fine too though ...

Fael Illyar: it _is_ fine. You just want to change it :)

Gaya Ethaniel: It is also ok to want to change.

Isadora Davidov: There are so many particulars in each circumstance..having a little patience might lead to insight that there's afuther remedy or none (fomr one's point of view)

Fael Illyar: thinking it's not fine is a way to light a fire under your pans.

    Fael Illyar: pants

Isadora Davidov: Yes, something to be done...or "acceptance"

Gaya Ethaniel: I don't konw about that Fael ... then no one would have acted for better civil rights for example.

Fael Illyar: and results in impatience :)

Gaya Ethaniel: I don't think seeing something is ok or not ok is the issue really.

    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Yakuzza :)

Bertram Jacobus: hello yaku ... :-)

Isadora Davidov: What might seem like "impatience" from a friend teacher or parent might just be a sharper form of teaching

Fael Illyar: 'is ok' can be understood in many ways though...

    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey everyone

    Gaya Ethaniel: Yes of course.

    Isadora Davidov: Hello!

Gaya Ethaniel: Yes Isadora, that is true. How one perceives doesn't always match.

Gaya Ethaniel: Well it hardly does ... really.

Isadora Davidov: Yeah...I always feel hurt with this sharp style...then retreat and have to spend a little time growing up about the interacdtion

Bertram Jacobus: (we are talking about "patience" yaku) ...

Gaya Ethaniel: I know what you mean, I had similar experiences in the past and misunderstood the intention completely.

Gaya Ethaniel: But with teachers, there has to be some sort of understanding and trust too, which helps.

Isadora Davidov: Yes, even if I can see the intention is there...I feel inadequate, wrong, exposed...and sometimes cut the relationship...a weakness I think

    Gaya Ethaniel: That's sad ...

    --BELL--

Fael Illyar wonders if impatience could be characterized as asking for the impossible from yourself and then trying to get it done...

Gaya Ethaniel: But then I cannot say ... Isadora, maybe you need different teaching styles or you're not ready ... there can be so many different reasons for such situations to occur. Do you normally talk these feelings out with them?

Gaya Ethaniel: Not sure Fael ... I will think about that!

Isadora Davidov: Thank you..talking out would be a step forward! I wonder if people stay longer in SL than 1 hour...I should go back to RL, but want to thank everyone for the help and the fafabulous dance party! See you again/

    Yakuzza Lethecus: dance party ?

    Yakuzza Lethecus: onigokko

Fael Illyar: See you later Isadora :)

Gaya Ethaniel: Nice talking to you Isadora. Enjoy your day :)

    Yakuzza Lethecus: stop

Yakuzza Lethecus: that one ? :)

Bertram Jacobus: lol bye isadora :-))

    Gaya Ethaniel: :)

    Isadora Davidov: OH..Love it!

    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye

Bertram Jacobus: you'll learn it if you like ... ;-)

Fael Illyar: Another way to describe patience that I can think of is accepting the way things are, so you can observe in peace to see how it can be fixed.

Gaya Ethaniel: hm ... ok Fael say more about accepting in this sense please?

Fael Illyar: not accepting tends to have the effect that you stop looking.

Fael Illyar: can't bear to keep looking.

Bertram Jacobus: i can tell you a really profane example : poker ! there i experience quite often how far my patience goes ...

    Gaya Ethaniel: mhm :)

Gaya Ethaniel: I start with facing these days.

    Fael Illyar: heh :)

Gaya Ethaniel: Really Bertram? How so?

Fael Illyar: non acceptance is also a tool in a way.

Gaya Ethaniel: A friend told me to breath to develop patience so I'm doing that :)

Bertram Jacobus: i experience that my patience longs for a while, but there are also ... limits

Fael Illyar: when all you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail :)

    Gaya Ethaniel: Could be.

    Gaya Ethaniel thinks ...

Gaya Ethaniel: Well thank you. I will think over it. :)

    Fael Illyar smiles.

    Gaya Ethaniel: bfn

Bertram Jacobus: and i'm interested in the question or also in the answer wheather the poker game will make my patience grow perhaps ...

    Bertram Jacobus: bye gaya

Gaya Ethaniel: Anything can do it I think Bertram :)

Fael Illyar: It's primarily dependant on your attitude if your patience gets better or not :)

Bertram Jacobus: but such a topic, a situation is very interesting for watching it ...

Bertram Jacobus: "okay" - i'll leave too - ty for the talk !

    Fael Illyar: Yes :)

    Yakuzza Lethecus: good night everyone

Fael Illyar: See you later Bert :)

Fael Illyar: Good night Yakuzza :)

Bertram Jacobus: have a nice time :-)

Bertram Jacobus: yes. look forward to it :-)
