Wol Euler was guardian for this session, filling in for SophiaSharon.

    Wol Euler: hello yakuzza

Yakuzza Lethecus: what do i do with the link btw ?

Yakuzza Lethecus: nobody claimed it so i did

Yakuzza Lethecus: and ur outfit remembers me of dracula btw :)

    Wol Euler: :)

Wol Euler: that is a URL, you can use it to get the raw-cut of the session

Wol Euler: to help you posting the log.

Yakuzza Lethecus: so i do i have to post such a log ?

Yakuzza Lethecus: it's not posted automatically ?

    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey sophia

    Wol Euler: nope

    Wol Euler: 1) impossible technically.

Wol Euler: 2) must be edited to remove name and comments of passing strangers who didn't give persmission

    Wol Euler: hello sophia

Wol Euler: if you don't want to post it, that's OK. I post all missing logs that are two weeks or so old

Wol Euler: so I will get to it eventually.

Yakuzza Lethecus: lol ur still loading for me sophia and it looked like you had a foodball in front of ur head for a second :)

    SophiaSharon Larnia: ohh LOL

SophiaSharon Larnia: i see that on others, suspected the same for me ;P

Yakuzza Lethecus: so how are you sophia ?

SophiaSharon Larnia: did you grab the log Wol?

    Wol Euler: I did

    SophiaSharon Larnia: smiles

Wol Euler: Bertram has a previous obligation and ccannot be here tonight

    Wol Euler: /afternoon/morning/whatever

Yakuzza Lethecus: what happens if nobody claimes the log ?

    Wol Euler: a good question.

SophiaSharon Larnia: this is my time, but Im glad you have it :)

    SophiaSharon Larnia: good Yakuzza :)

    SophiaSharon Larnia: you?

Wol Euler: oh! I wonder why Bert thought he had to take the log now?

    SophiaSharon Larnia: it's all good

Wol Euler: the auto-recording happens anyway and always, Yakuzza. Nobody claiming only means that nobody gets an URL. So I post the log in two weeks

SophiaSharon Larnia: he is welcome to this Saturday slot, if that is good for him

Yakuzza Lethecus: ah, so you are the trashbin :)

    Wol Euler: heheheheh

Wol Euler: what a charming way to express it.

SophiaSharon Larnia: or very kind to do all this work!!!!

    Yakuzza Lethecus: hihi :)

    Wol Euler smiles modestly.

    SophiaSharon Larnia is immensily grateful

Yakuzza Lethecus: you would be allowed to drop a virtual piano from the sky on my head :)

Wol Euler looks in her inventory.

    SophiaSharon Larnia: giggles

Yakuzza Lethecus: how to post a log by the way ?

Yakuzza Lethecus: i just registered on the pab wiki today

    SophiaSharon Larnia: (brb)

    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey qt

    Qt Core: hi all

    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Qt

    Wol Euler: hello qt

    Yakuzza Lethecus: Buonasera!

SophiaSharon Larnia: its funny how when you come here, you feel should say something especially illuminating or insightful

    Wol Euler: :)

SophiaSharon Larnia: when sometimes it is nice to drift in the peaceful sounds of the pavilion, and of the sounds outside my window at home :)

Qt Core: maybe it is about klnowing you are being recorded

    Wol Euler: :)

Yakuzza Lethecus: but i think we can also drop down to a chat level and just appreciate the session

SophiaSharon Larnia: sometimes it is Qt, but sometimes it isnt

Yakuzza Lethecus: and listen to stim's lectures at the same time :)

SophiaSharon Larnia: oh??? may I have the link Yakuzza, please :)

    Yakuzza Lethecus: http://berkeleymonastery.org/steven/fall07.asp

Yakuzza Lethecus: eliza gave me the link first :)

    SophiaSharon Larnia: thank you!!!!

SophiaSharon Larnia: this was just what i was looking for but didnt think it existed Yakuzza

Yakuzza Lethecus: i was already listening to other berkley lectures since they have them availible through itunes

Yakuzza Lethecus: but i never thought about looking for stim so far

SophiaSharon Larnia: I am reading time space and knowledge

SophiaSharon Larnia: but to say 'reading' is a bit of a misnomer

Wol Euler: cool. how do you find it?

SophiaSharon Larnia: well, i have to stop everything else I'm doing

SophiaSharon Larnia: including everything else i am thinking

SophiaSharon Larnia: its not something i could take on a train

    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)

SophiaSharon Larnia: i didnt know it was so full of exercises

    Wol Euler: :)

SophiaSharon Larnia: oddly, the exercises are easiest for me to do

SophiaSharon Larnia: being particualrly visually oriented, and have a familiarity with the human body

SophiaSharon Larnia: (refering to the first exercises)

    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey mick

    Wol Euler: hey mick

    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Mickorod

    Qt Core: hi Mick

    Mickorod Renard: Hiya Guys

Mickorod Renard: how r u all doing?

SophiaSharon Larnia: good and you?? No real topic yet, so feel free to suggest one :P

SophiaSharon Larnia: how did you find it Wol??

    Mickorod Renard: grin,,thanks and great

Qt Core: quite good, had a wonderful nap this afternoon ;-)

Wol Euler: oh, I've never read it.

SophiaSharon Larnia: i have to read it in bites :) instead of devouring it, like I do with most books

    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey ara

    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Arabella

    Qt Core: Hi Ara, Somebody

    arabella Ella: Hiya everyone!

    Wol Euler: hello ara, Somebody

    Yakuzza Lethecus: and hello Somebody

    Mickorod Renard: hi and hi

    SophiaSharon Larnia: Hi Somebody

SophiaSharon Larnia: Have you been here before Somebody? :)

    SophiaSharon Larnia: smiles

SophiaSharon Larnia: I need to go, take care everyone!

Wol Euler: bye sophia, take care

    Qt Core: bye Sophia

    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye sophia

    Mickorod Renard: bye sophie

arabella Ella: hey very quiet here today

    Wol Euler: :)

arabella Ella: and wol looks like a lovely cloud to me

    arabella Ella: :)

    Mickorod Renard: yes,,very quiet

Wol Euler: I'm sorry, I am in too many IMs and listening to a radio stream too

arabella Ella sings ... silence is golden, golden , la la la

    Mickorod Renard: he he

Wol Euler: I'll try rebaking, ara

    arabella Ella smiles

arabella Ella: would be nice to see Wol as an avi not as a cloud

arabella Ella: hey how did u do that?

arabella Ella: hey presto ... magic ... wol is now visible

    Wol Euler: ctrl-alt-R

arabella Ella: ah ... will take note

arabella Ella: is it s sort of refresh

Wol Euler: hello Nobody, come down and join us :)

    arabella Ella: ooooops

    Wol Euler: or not.

    Wol Euler: welcome back, Somebody.

Wol Euler: and already gone again. ah well.

Wol Euler: the young are so impatient.

    arabella Ella: :)

arabella Ella: i guess you mean young avis

    Wol Euler: :)

Wol Euler: but it applies to RL too

    arabella Ella nods

Mickorod Renard: I was reading a chat log earlier,,one that Pila was instrumental in

    arabella Ella listens

    Wol Euler: mmm?

Mickorod Renard: the question about the 90 sec silence was discussed

Mickorod Renard: and what should it mean to us individually

    Wol Euler: ah.

Wol Euler: was there a conclusion?

Mickorod Renard: I have to admit to not being very good at it

    Mickorod Renard: no

Mickorod Renard: but I was wondering how we here felt about it

Mickorod Renard: like should it be us seperating from real life or still being connected but taking time out

Mickorod Renard: like chilling for 90 secs

Qt Core: i always thought it was about stopping worrying about the particoular and feeling all the others things that make reality

arabella Ella: is that what you do Qt during the 90 sec?

Mickorod Renard: I think its lots of things to many,,and this was why I found it interesting

Wol Euler: I'll be honest: I often ignore the 90 sec. I don't speak here, but carry on in IM or writing notecards or whatever.

    Mickorod Renard: me too

Qt Core: i basically don't do it ara, i stop when my mind ask for it

    arabella Ella: yes me too

arabella Ella: i went to the beach today for a swim and did it there where i felt totally relaxed

Mickorod Renard: it would take me a whole 90 seconds to get a grip on my active thoughts

arabella Ella: it was nearly deserted ... except for two couples from Catania!

Mickorod Renard: everyone gone home for the new school year

arabella Ella: Yak what about you ... what happens during the 90 sec to you?

arabella Ella: not really Mick ... still 3 weeks to go here for new school year :)

arabella Ella: and still lots of tourists around

    Mickorod Renard: lol

arabella Ella: it was just coincidence that beach was nearly deserted ... it is a rocky beach after all ... the sandy ones are always busy

    Mickorod Renard: I see

Yakuzza Lethecus: oh, i it depends sometimes i just don't do it, and then i try a couple of things i heard on meditation cd's, or right now i just listen to stim's recordings without interruption

Yakuzza Lethecus: because i am too lazy to interrupt them during the 90 sec

arabella Ella: wow ... cool ... listen to Stim

Yakuzza Lethecus: but i don't think while listening that stuff

Mickorod Renard: I have had dificulty opening stims recordings

Yakuzza Lethecus: it's interesting when he talks about finding your buddha nature :)

arabella Ella: so do you leave them as background Yak

    Yakuzza Lethecus: on my ipod

    Mickorod Renard: nice

    arabella Ella: cool

    Wol Euler: :)

arabella Ella: what an excelent idea

Mickorod Renard: I wonder why I couldnt open them

Yakuzza Lethecus: somebody here already called me ,,steiftier"

arabella Ella: maybe you need to download quick time Mick?

    Wol Euler: heheheheh

Mickorod Renard: what does that mean?

Yakuzza Lethecus: that's related to a famous teddybear company

arabella Ella: so Yak ... tier is animal ...

Wol Euler: that means they think you are cuddly, I guess.

    arabella Ella: oh yes

arabella Ella: the ones you like Mick?

Mickorod Renard: ahh yeh..I have 3 lil stieff bears

Yakuzza Lethecus: steiftiere always had a ,,knopf" in their ears

    arabella Ella: he he

    arabella Ella: yes

Yakuzza Lethecus: and i always run around with just one plug

Wol Euler always thought that Steiff should release that knopf as an earring :)

arabella Ella: (an ear plug or button)

    Mickorod Renard: I see,,he he

arabella Ella: so you listen to Stim while here Yak ... or much more of the time too?

Yakuzza Lethecus: much more time too

Yakuzza Lethecus: even when i drive in my car the last couple of days

Mickorod Renard: well,,some say they meditate during 90 secs,,others just reflect on their surroundings

Yakuzza Lethecus: but i did that with other lectures too, i just don't read enough but i have no problem listening to lectures all day

Yakuzza Lethecus: obviously only when i am alone :)

arabella Ella: so ... can you use an i pod while driving in Germany?

Yakuzza Lethecus: ähm i don't really know if it's allowed

Yakuzza Lethecus: i only use 1 plug

Mickorod Renard: reading or listening is good for me,,understanding is my problem

arabella Ella: there was a time i used cassettes in my car when i was learning german

Yakuzza Lethecus: and there are even people with headsets

Mickorod Renard: I cant express my admiration for you Yaku,,understanding the concepts of this stuff is hard even if your first language is english

Yakuzza Lethecus: ähm don't admire me, i try not to think about it

Mickorod Renard: I get all mixed up..and even if I dont I seem to forget what I have grasped by the next session

Mickorod Renard: but I dont think its doing me any harm,,he he

arabella Ella: what do you think you are getting as positive benefits from listening to Stim, Yak? I am curious

Yakuzza Lethecus: it's hard to answer that for now, it's a concept i think i will always get something from listening to lectures or even being here

Yakuzza Lethecus: i don't came here with special intentions just to hear new things implicitly

arabella Ella: (realises we are five people in Europe here now with four of us in same time zone ... mick ... one hour difference)

    Wol Euler: the Eurosession :)

    arabella Ella smiles

Yakuzza Lethecus: so i think i don't know what i get until i get it, and appreciation of life is really something i like to hear about

arabella Ella: yes Yak ... and I guess Stim's voice can be very relaxing and calming

Yakuzza Lethecus: i don't know if i already found my inner buddha :), but i learn at least something about the different traditions that zen is from china

Mickorod Renard: have you all listened to his voice?

    arabella Ella: i have

    Wol Euler: no

    Wol Euler: yes, at Kira.

Yakuzza Lethecus: i just pick up so much but i can't and don't want to conclude individual sessions

    Mickorod Renard: nor me

Wol Euler: he's done voice workshops IIRC

arabella Ella: yes and there are a number of podcasts available on the web too

arabella Ella: just to fill you in Wol in case you may not have heard ....

Mickorod Renard: I must try harder to get his sessions to work

arabella Ella: some of us are using Skype on Sunday night with Gaya to discuss Stim's sessions

arabella Ella: are we are also thinking of using voice ... still to be decided ... for Stim's own sessions

arabella Ella: oh and with Gaya we use voice on Skype

Mickorod Renard: skype is much better

Qt Core: (i often wonder how many people are much more serious/involved than me)

Mickorod Renard: I am never serious QT

    arabella Ella: :)

arabella Ella: there are so many much more serious then me Qt

Wol Euler: my seriousness varies with my mood and my needs.

arabella Ella: (Qt means 'serious' in the 'committment' sense)

    Wol Euler: indeed

    arabella Ella: (motivated)

arabella Ella likes Qt's new outfit :)

    Qt Core: right, Ara

    Qt Core: ty

Mickorod Renard: hey,,got star fleet emblem still

arabella Ella: you must have really good vision or cam work Mick ....

    Mickorod Renard: carrots

arabella Ella can never see details

Mickorod Renard: Yaku has an interesting belt buckle too

    Yakuzza Lethecus: thats from thothica

Mickorod Renard: does it do anything?

Yakuzza Lethecus: no it just show a connection

arabella Ella wonders whether she will ever learn to use cam control well

Mickorod Renard: and of course Wols outfits always facinate me

    Mickorod Renard: ;)

Yakuzza Lethecus: that is exactly something i think about alot, whather i learn to ,,want to learn things" so i just remember that i want to learn something but never ,,just make it"

    Wol Euler grins

Yakuzza Lethecus: and second life and what i am doing is even related to the issue that i am somehow still capable to change my mind and learn much new stuff but when i try to do that explicitly i scew up

Mickorod Renard: you mean screw up on SL?

    Yakuzza Lethecus: learning in general

Mickorod Renard: this is the best place to screw up

Yakuzza Lethecus: even today when i talked to wol i remembered all negative things from the time i was bad at school since i suffer a bit from never really gettttng great in computer sciences

Mickorod Renard: I try to make things on SL,,just to learn how it works

    Wol Euler nods

Yakuzza Lethecus: and i always remember that i ,,wanted" but never made it happen

Yakuzza Lethecus: and so i remember negative things i haven't reached and entrirely changed what i did for a living

Yakuzza Lethecus: i am a metal worker today and wanted to study computersciences in the first place

Mickorod Renard: I think thats quite normal Yaku,,and for some of us, I think I am similar, yes you can have regrets

Yakuzza Lethecus: but i don't even think that i am to stupid i just don't know how to handle my own mind and how to communicate even emotions the right way

Yakuzza Lethecus: and play as being even helps in that because ppl are talking about emotions or it's just general chat or religion, it's very open to everything

    Wol Euler nods

Mickorod Renard: some folk are very good at aquiring academic qualifications,,others better in other ways

Yakuzza Lethecus: and buddism and mediation is a key to increase selfeawareness

Yakuzza Lethecus: but maybe i just never happen to have to right social environment :), that doesn't feel triggered to be pissed off by an elaborated code

Yakuzza Lethecus: i never even heard from restricted and elaborated code

Yakuzza Lethecus: or wittgenstein or philosophy in real life

Yakuzza Lethecus: and i consider my background middleclass

    Wol Euler: well :)

Mickorod Renard: whats this elaborated code?

Yakuzza Lethecus: hehe basil bernstein made that distinction

    Mickorod Renard: not read him

Yakuzza Lethecus: that u use more abstract language

    Mickorod Renard: ahha

Yakuzza Lethecus: depending on the social class

    Mickorod Renard: yes

Yakuzza Lethecus: there are very interesting studies on lanugage aquisition how much words children are possible to aquire depending on their social background

Mickorod Renard: I know a few mates who were of good education and high social class,,,,but they just screwed up because of male hormones during the critical years at school

Yakuzza Lethecus: and i am always in a struggle to think about the issue whats nature and whats nurure

    Yakuzza Lethecus: nurture

    Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, all possible

Yakuzza Lethecus: thas whats even bothering me in psych so far, its so much corelational stuff

    Wol Euler nods.

Yakuzza Lethecus: nothing is clear everything is related to everything in some factors

    arabella Ella: hiya

Wol Euler: the problem with school is that it is tied to a timetable of RL years.

    Mickorod Renard: hiiii

arabella Ella: apologies my connection broke down

arabella Ella: so had to re log

Wol Euler: some people are ready sooner than others.

    Yakuzza Lethecus: wb

    Wol Euler: wb ara

    Mickorod Renard: it happens Ara

Mickorod Renard: yes,,ready for some things and not others

    Wol Euler: mmhmm

Mickorod Renard: but Yaku,,you have become aware of what you may like to change?

Mickorod Renard: and there are possibilities to change careers and take further education

Yakuzza Lethecus: i don't know yet

Mickorod Renard: dont know what direction to go in?

Yakuzza Lethecus: i have a job for 3-4 years but i still suffer from that failure feeling from the past

Yakuzza Lethecus: and i can't erase that

    Wol Euler nods.

Wol Euler: can you perhaps move past it, though?

Mickorod Renard: if you have a job its not failure..u just have high target

Wol Euler: ((I have to go to another meeting, plese continue. I've claimed the session.))

Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, maybe but it was totally different i just didn't even attend college after that school by that time

    arabella Ella: nite Wol

    Mickorod Renard: bye wol

    Yakuzza Lethecus: nacht wol

    Mickorod Renard: go well

Qt Core: i sometimes have the same kind of worrying as i didn't attended uni

    Qt Core: never ever tried

Yakuzza Lethecus: it's really that i think that i have often just a false approach to things

arabella Ella: it's never too late ... remember Qt ... non e mai troppo tardi ...

arabella Ella: and many people today change jobs and professions regularly

arabella Ella: not many get a job for life ... and that is boring anyway

Qt Core: i have the same job at the same fir for the last 16 years ;-)

Mickorod Renard: you know Yaku,,I am nearing the end of my working life and I still dont know what direction,,,I would just choose one and follow it and see where it takes you

Yakuzza Lethecus: for me it's even to increase my perspectives

arabella Ella: you do Qt .... cool

Yakuzza Lethecus: so i have a job, i make money, it could pay better , obviously :)

arabella Ella: but I think more than so many years makes a job boring

Yakuzza Lethecus: so i have time to think more

Yakuzza Lethecus: because i don't fear at least existential pressure, i am happy right now :)

    arabella Ella smiles

Yakuzza Lethecus: but i am aware about that issues in my past and i can't just accept that ,,i am just not made for that stuff"

Yakuzza Lethecus: because i even failed in english and had to redo an entire year because of english!

    arabella Ella: oh nooooo

Yakuzza Lethecus: sure i still don't handle the orthography correct

arabella Ella: not even the english do Yak

    arabella Ella: ask Mick

Mickorod Renard: some things are perhaps on route to a higher objective,,try scaling down your expectations

    Mickorod Renard: wrong box

Yakuzza Lethecus: but implicit learning and a positive approach to things seem to be a key for me

    Mickorod Renard: no,,right box

    Mickorod Renard: he he

Yakuzza Lethecus: i think when i am unhappy learning things i will ,,remember" behing unhappy and don't like remembering

arabella Ella: i think there are loads of opportunities for young people like you today Yak the thing is to keep your eyes open and to recognise the opportunities that are right for you ... and to take risks too

Mickorod Renard: yes,,take riscs,,you can afford them when u r younger

Yakuzza Lethecus: i don't like to take too many risks because i can't learn under pressure

Mickorod Renard: ok guys,,I have to go

arabella Ella: ah ... calculated risks ... if possible with a planned fall back position

    Yakuzza Lethecus: night mick

Mickorod Renard: thanks for the chat etc

    arabella Ella: nite Mick

    Mickorod Renard: bye all

    arabella Ella: Hey Qt

arabella Ella: do you know our countries nearly got to fight a couple of weeks ago?

Qt Core: no, i missed some news ?

Yakuzza Lethecus: is malta still under british protection?

Qt Core: was it our dear prime minister and his great style ?

arabella Ella: malta has been independent since late 60s

arabella Ella: well it was Mr. Frattini

    arabella Ella: and the immigrants

    Qt Core: oh, right

arabella Ella: and whether they were our responsibility or Italy's

arabella Ella: so there was a sort of war in the media

Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, but there are many countries who are to small still with military contracts for protection

Yakuzza Lethecus: like states in the pacific are under us protection

arabella Ella: since italy is a much larger country

arabella Ella: we have a contract with Italy for military protection

Yakuzza Lethecus: i guess you just have a coast guard in malta ?

arabella Ella: it is easier for the EU to listen to you rather than to us as we are so small

    Yakuzza Lethecus: ah :)

Qt Core: i wonder if they really need/want it ;-)

arabella Ella: and yes we just have a few small boats ... some donated by germany ... as our coast guard

Qt Core: yeah, they really liked listening our prime ministera saying that speakers... should not speak ;-)

arabella Ella: but we have territorial waters way beyond our small size and they cannot cope with such a huge space

arabella Ella: what do you mean Qt ... speakers should not speak?

Qt Core: Mr. Berlusconi said that the "portavoce" (don't know the english term) should not say anything but let the people they work for speak

arabella Ella: oh yes portavoce is spokesperson

arabella Ella: and i think he also threatened brussels on the issue

    Qt Core: yes,

arabella Ella: however, in spite of his growing international 'fame' ... Italy still has more power in Brussels than we have

Yakuzza Lethecus: lol 400k ppl vs 60 million ?

Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah, they should have more :)

Qt Core: the big question, states should be counted as equal, on population, economical power, needs

arabella Ella: how can you consider all states as equal?

arabella Ella: it just does not happen that way in practice

Qt Core: the one vote for each state (i'm speaking only about the EU administration issues)

Yakuzza Lethecus: i think the economic power is what is used practically while nobody talks in that way really directly

Yakuzza Lethecus: or it's funny that in the united nations there are just more or less depending states voting for the us or russia or china

Yakuzza Lethecus: when ever there is some hard decision to make

Yakuzza Lethecus: it's hard for me to consider a state like malta as equal because the number of heads should count in my sense but that might drive states out of a community

Yakuzza Lethecus: malta is nothing more then a bigger city, that happen to have a great history because of its tactical position

Yakuzza Lethecus: ok island, valetta is the city...

    Qt Core: got the idea

Yakuzza Lethecus: ah ara is gone

Yakuzza Lethecus: i just watched that chat window

    Qt Core: crashed more probably

    Yakuzza Lethecus: yeah

    Yakuzza Lethecus: hello loyal

Yakuzza Lethecus: ok, i am also going to leave

    Yakuzza Lethecus: good night qt

    Qt Core: bye, have fun

    Yakuzza Lethecus: sleep well

    Yakuzza Lethecus: wb ara

    Qt Core: wb

arabella Ella: hiya sorry i crashed

arabella Ella: and had to re boot

arabella Ella: my connection is crazy tonite

arabella Ella: i must go now nite to both of u

    Qt Core: 'night

Qt Core: Ok, Yak, i'm going, see you next time

    Yakuzza Lethecus: night

Yakuzza Lethecus: who was the guardian ?
