The Guardian for this meeting was Adams Rubble. The comments are by Adams Rubble.
Adams Rubble: Hello Eliza :)
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Adams :)
Eliza Madrigal: ack...got stuck....
Eliza Madrigal: There I am :)
Adams Rubble: Oh bummer
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: How are you and how are your nine seconds (giggles)
Eliza Madrigal checks
Eliza Madrigal grins
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: that took about nine seconds :)
Eliza Madrigal: hahah
Adams Rubble: I haven't been stopping the past couple of weeks
Adams Rubble: I was thinking maybe I need to start doing that
Eliza Madrigal: Honestly, I find the nine seconds like emerging from swimming to take a breath. Sometimes I set the clock and sometimes not... but part of what seems natural now
Adams Rubble: Doug once said we should think that we are not too busy for whatever oit is we need to do
Adams Rubble: oh wonderful Eliza :)
Adams Rubble: actually he said we should think "I have time"
Eliza Madrigal: That's a good tip ...
Adams Rubble: yes
Eliza Madrigal: seems blindingly obvious but that's how we are
Adams Rubble: speaking of the devil :)
Eliza Madrigal: need reminders and pokes
Adams Rubble: Hi Doug. I was just talking about you :)
Adams Rubble: whoops he went out of range
Adams Rubble: [7:05] Adams Rubble: Hi Doug. I was just talking about you :)
doug Sosa: hi
Eliza Madrigal: :)
doug Sosa: :(
Adams Rubble: I have bbeen too busy to breathe the past too weeks
Adams Rubble: and was just recalling how you once said that we should think we are too busy
Adams Rubble: but that we have time
Adams Rubble: not think we are too busy
Adams Rubble: Hi Pema :)
Eliza Madrigal: Hello Pema :)
doug Sosa: we shoul never say we are too busy. there is always time.
doug Sosa: especially we gain back the time we spent
Pema Pera: Hi Eliza, Adams, Doug!
doug Sosa: saying we are too busy.
doug Sosa: hi,
Adams Rubble: well I sure feel too busy (giggles)
Eliza Madrigal smiles
Adams Rubble: but will try to remember that :)
doug Sosa: very interesting episode yesterday. I had to vacuum the house.
doug Sosa: found myself in a kind of 90 sec frame of mind
doug Sosa: and all things seemed equal and i was terrifically calm and deliberate.
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: When I vacummed this morning I got four mosquito bites :)
Pema Pera: yes, I think it is a good idea -- being busy means having to drop things you are too busy to do, so that you can then calmly do what you have decided is the most important; if you don't do that calmly, you will be less efficient -- in other words, it all is a form of wu-wei again
Adams Rubble: Hi Eos :)
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Eos :)
Pema Pera: Hi there Eos
Eos Amaterasu: Hi Adams, Eliza, Pema, Doug
Eliza Madrigal: sometimes we rush through things, so have to do them again and again
Adams Rubble: of course some things have to be done, can;t be dropped
Eliza Madrigal: yes!
Adams Rubble: they can sap energy
Pema Pera: yes, but even so, trying to do too many things in a frenzie means that you have to redo them later, as Eliza said
Pema Pera: driving yourself mad is never a solution
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: Hi Corvi :)
Pema Pera: Hi Corvi!
doug Sosa: it wasn;t about me. it was the sense that each thing, relationship, whatever had its existence, its absolute right to be just as it was. nothing was an obstacle.
Pema Pera: How about doing a little exploration at 7:15, during the 90 seconds?
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Corvi! :)
doug Sosa: yes.
Eos Amaterasu: Hi Corvi
Pema Pera: which one?
Adams Rubble: ?
Pema Pera: which exploration/exercise?
Eliza Madrigal: So far we've done boundary watching, thought watching...
Pema Pera: if nobody makes a suggestion, let's fall back on appreciating the presence of appearance
Eliza Madrigal: Okay
Adams Rubble: wb Corvi
--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: Hi again Corvi :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: Hi all
Eliza Madrigal: So with this, I closed my eyes to hear my daughters crunching cereal and talking about a movie they saw yesterday, but I stopped listening to what they were saying to notice their voices... so deep, not childlike...
Eliza Madrigal: then noticed my shoulders slumped and corrected :)
Pema Pera: wonderful, Eliza!
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Pema Pera: Doing this exploration, I was reminded of a conversation I had with Eos, who mentioned an idea from Trungpa, about "dralas", a kind of personification of phenomena/appearances, like the Japanese notion of kami or nature spirit -- and I appreciated how such an approach might help to avoid viewing the APA sentence as too abstract; the point is to REALLY become friends with all that appears.
Pema Pera: viewing everything that presents itself as alive, as expressing the life of the Universe, of Being . . . .
Pema Pera: that felt very powerful and at the same time very peaceful
Pema Pera: and inclusive
doug Sosa: i was struck by how entering the 90 suddendly it fel like the space of my mind was much larger, more encompassing..
Eos Amaterasu: :-)
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, yes nice!! That everything expresses the friendliness of Being...hm
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I love the idea of personifying the appearances, too
Corvuscorva Nightfire: so that even the worst monsters of appearance can become friends
doug Sosa: dropping the focus of normal mind seemed to relax some "miscles" and ..
doug Sosa: muscles..
Pema Pera: like in a well done horror movie :-)
doug Sosa: and a kind of vigilantance seems to go with the greater awareness.
Pema Pera: yes, without trying, exactly by no longer trying
Pema Pera: Hi there, Bert!
Adams Rubble: Hello Bertram :)
Bertram Jacobus: hello pablers :-)
Eos Amaterasu: Hi Bert!
Corvuscorva Nightfire: hi Bert
Eliza Madrigal: Hm..and yes I realize that when listening to the girls' voices... and the quality of them... it was a real warm feeling... like a blanket.
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Bertram :)
Eos Amaterasu: I got a notification on-screen that my mom was on skype - sense of presence
Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles
Pema Pera: :-)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bertram Jacobus: (some smilies have noses, some not) :o)
Eliza Madrigal: hahah
Bertram Jacobus: :-)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: heheh
Corvuscorva Nightfire: some have BIG noses
doug Sosa: :--)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: :O)
Bertram Jacobus: yeaah :-)
Bertram Jacobus: and some big smiles :-))
Pema Pera: (^o^)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: giggles
Bertram Jacobus: lol
Pema Pera: (@o@)
Bertram Jacobus: and even clowns hats sometimes (!) <:o)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: heheh
Pema Pera: it's creeping towards midnight here . . . I think I'm going to sleep
Corvuscorva Nightfire: g'night, Pema.
Adams Rubble: good night Pema :)
Bertram Jacobus: (sorry : did not want to interrupt so much)
Pema Pera: great seeing y'all
doug Sosa: bye.
Eos Amaterasu: Good night, Pema
Pema Pera: no problem at all, Bert!
Bertram Jacobus: ups - have a nice nite pema ! :-)
Eliza Madrigal: Night Pema
Pema Pera: bye everybody
Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles..you know, it seems to me that after sitting it's good to have humor
Pema Pera: me 2
Corvuscorva Nightfire: or at least it seems "wanted"
doug Sosa: and me too, family crying for breakfast.
doug Sosa: at the bell.
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Doug
Eos Amaterasu: Bye Doug
Adams Rubble: bye doug :)
Bertram Jacobus: then have a nice breakfast doug ! :-)
--BELL--
Bertram Jacobus: yes corvi : the mixture of humor and seriousity ... can be great ... :-)
Eliza Madrigal: I've come to feel fondly toward APAPB.... It took quite a while before it was not abstract to me...before I began to see it was just noticing and sharing... dwelling
Corvuscorva Nightfire nods
Eos Amaterasu: sometimes sharing what we're unable to say, which seems sharable thru humour
Corvuscorva Nightfire considers
Eliza Madrigal: I thought... why make such a long sentence? hahah... but really it is just Being...and how to share yes, the unsharable
Eos Amaterasu Corvi opens a window into her mind :-)
Eliza Madrigal smiles
Corvuscorva Nightfire grins at Eos
Eos Amaterasu: :-)
Bertram Jacobus: sometimes silent sharing ...
Eliza Madrigal: So if we're too busy, to 'appreciate the presence of appearances as a presentation by being...." we can just Be ...together
Eliza Madrigal: and we're really 'doing' the whole thing in that anyway
Eliza Madrigal: ?
Bertram Jacobus: thank you for having written that in full letters once again eliza ! :-)
Eliza Madrigal giggles
Eliza Madrigal: you're welcome Bert!
Eliza Madrigal: I like the addition of the waterfall behind us... begins to feel full and layered around here now
Bertram Jacobus: search it ... see only clouds ... (also very nice)
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bertram Jacobus: ah. now :-)
Eos Amaterasu: Oh, past my right shoulder?
Eliza Madrigal: Behind where Eos is sitting....
Eliza Madrigal: yes!
--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: We're so quiet... or maybe I've had too much coffee :)
Bertram Jacobus: [90 secs] ... ;o)
Bertram Jacobus: oh
Bertram Jacobus: no
Bertram Jacobus: already ready :o)
Bertram Jacobus: i´m unaware ...
Bertram Jacobus: and i have one IM besides ...
Bertram Jacobus: but not too important ;-)
Eliza Madrigal: the end bell has been quiet for me too...
Corvuscorva Nightfire thinks...I'm sort of drifty today
Eliza Madrigal: Drifty? that's a neat word
Bertram Jacobus: i like when things are a bit slower ...
Bertram Jacobus: i thought the same eliza :-)
Bertram Jacobus: exept of lag perhaps ... ;o)
Eliza Madrigal: like a boat on the water....
Bertram Jacobus: sl lag
Bertram Jacobus: yes. very nice and comfy :-)
Adams Rubble: If we change directions during a session it can result in reflection rather than output :)
Adams Rubble: (that was a personal comment)
Eos Amaterasu: me visualizes
Bertram Jacobus: i like personal commenst - amongst others , many ...
Bertram Jacobus: what do you visualize eliza please ? :-)
Eliza Madrigal: Hm, true Adams, can see that
Eliza Madrigal: Eos is visualizing... I am drifting with Corvi...
Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles
Bertram Jacobus: uh. sry. eos - what do you visualize ?
Eliza Madrigal: Now I am visualizing us all drifting
Eos Amaterasu: changing directions and reflecting
Bertram Jacobus: (how unaware i can be!!)
Eliza Madrigal: We're both "E"
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: We are A,B,C and two Es
Eliza Madrigal: When weather shifts, the waves can push a little boat in many directions....
Bertram Jacobus: pictures, metaphers ...
Adams Rubble: There is some APAPB for you...watching ourselves drift rather than trying to row or sail
Bertram Jacobus: metastages ... stages ... ;-)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: heh
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire breathes in deep and out slow
Bertram Jacobus: and i am thankful for some peace sometimes
Corvuscorva Nightfire nods
Eliza Madrigal: yes
Corvuscorva Nightfire: the worst harasser of my peace is myself
Adams Rubble: :)
Adams Rubble: True Corvi, but there are some people who can get us started. hehe
Eliza Madrigal giggles
Bertram Jacobus: "but"yes"no"true"wrong" - words in my mind ...
Corvuscorva Nightfire: oh sorry...
Bertram Jacobus: ?
Eos Amaterasu: ¿
Corvuscorva Nightfire: i wasn't arguing that there are lots of outside things that affect our peace
Bertram Jacobus: :-)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: make it harder to find it
Adams Rubble: I knew what you meant Corvi. Just making a grim joke :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: just thinking about ME and right now..and all the ways I create unrest in myself
Eos Amaterasu: RL calls - bye all!
Adams Rubble: bye Eos
--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: even then, we often let them... or sometimes someone can be disruptive and if we're in a good center, it just spins around without touching
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Eos
Corvuscorva Nightfire smiles at Adams.
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Bertram Jacobus: bye eos ... ;-)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: bye eos
Bertram Jacobus: and i like your remarks corvi (!)
Adams Rubble: It is useful to remember when we feel we are being besieged that it is ultimately ourselves who distrub our peace
Eliza Madrigal nods... and just noticing that goes a long way
Bertram Jacobus: but ! : i am thankful for some peace sometimes :o) (sry, is this too insisting) ?
Corvuscorva Nightfire nods...and breathes in deep again, so she can sigh it out slow.
Corvuscorva Nightfire: yeah...dammit...it's much more fun to blame someone else
Adams Rubble: we all want peace Bertram :)
Bertram Jacobus: and happyness ?
Eliza Madrigal: And love :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: I am thank ful your peace, too, Bertram, somehow
Bertram Jacobus: yes eliza :-)
Adams Rubble: there is the love
Adams Rubble: :)
Bertram Jacobus: and i´m thankful for your breathing corvi - could do it with you the last time you wrote it :-)
Eliza Madrigal smiles and nods
Adams Rubble: appreciating each others' appearances
Bertram Jacobus: yes
Adams Rubble: I am afraid I must run a nd measure a building before I go off :0
Adams Rubble: :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire smiels...I gotta go, too
Eliza Madrigal: If we blame we must also give credit :) We help one another find peace... we help one another notice what gets in the way...
Adams Rubble nods to Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, Bye Adams, Happy Measuring :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire grins...I think in the end, that's us too, accepting the gifts offered.
Adams Rubble: bye everyone :)
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Corvi :)
Corvuscorva Nightfire: sometimes we can, and sometimes we can't...bye all!
Eliza Madrigal: yes, that's us too :)
Eliza Madrigal: MMMM
Bertram Jacobus: okay ... one hour seems to be a good peice of time for the meetings here. in general only i mean ... :-)
Bertram Jacobus: so cu adams and ... corvi ;-)
Eliza Madrigal smiles yes...one hour is good especially if one wants to check in later :)
Bertram Jacobus: terrible chat lag here again and again today -
Eliza Madrigal: yes, for me it has been about a week
Bertram Jacobus: hehe. yes. true :o)
Eliza Madrigal: and I rarely have that issue
Bertram Jacobus: okay. good to know. that it seems to be sl and not the own computer
Eliza Madrigal: I should go eat something... have been up for a long while and have had only coffee :)
Eliza Madrigal: Nice to see you this morning, Bert :)
Eliza Madrigal: (later for you I know) :)
Bertram Jacobus: okay. then i wish you enjoy your meal etc. :-) !
Eliza Madrigal: Thanks :) Bye for now
Bertram Jacobus: bfn eliza :-)
