The Guardian for this meeting was Eliza Madrigal, filling in for Bertram, filling in for Sophia P. :) The comments are by Eliza Madrigal.

SophiaSharon and I arrived about fifteen minutes in, to doug and Eos chatting...

    doug Sosa: hi.
    Eos Amaterasu: HI Doug
doug Sosa: our little community seems very dispersed.
    --BELL--
Eos Amaterasu: I think so - there's the village and there's the coast
doug Sosa: they seem like typical private property individualist activities.
doug Sosa: kind of a caricature of rl.
doug Sosa: What's happening on the coast?
Eos Amaterasu: Nicely flowing skirt, Eliza :-)
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Eos, doug, sophiasharon :)
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi SophiaSharon
Eliza Madrigal: Thank you :) yes... I feel pretty... oh so pretty...hehe
    doug Sosa: morning (hre).
    Eos Amaterasu: SL-side Story
doug Sosa: who can that pretty girl be.e.e.?
SophiaSharon Larnia: HI Eliza, Doug, Eos!
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, Sophia isn't here yet... must not be back into routine after Ramadan :)
    doug Sosa: :)
Eliza Madrigal: hehe... funny how we can sing here
    Eliza Madrigal: in chat
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
doug Sosa: yep. Well eos and i look like the cleanup crew and you two look like after the party but still ready to dance. :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: haha
    Eliza Madrigal: hahahha
Eliza Madrigal: yes, we're just coming home after a long interesting night
    Eliza Madrigal giggles
doug Sosa: the point in the dawn when the two social classes overlap.
SophiaSharon Larnia: oh thats my favorite part of the day ;p
Eos Amaterasu: staying awake during the otherwise unconscious
SophiaSharon Larnia: is one of the night class, then
Eliza Madrigal smiles.... when everything is fuzzy... half the town still asleep
doug Sosa: plato thought it was wonderful because yesterday is gone, and today does not yet exist.
    Eliza Madrigal: MMMM nice thought
Eos Amaterasu: your own awake is dipping in and out of subconscious
Eliza Madrigal: I wonder if people are more honest with themselves there on those edges....
SophiaSharon Larnia: opens like an egg
doug Sosa: for eos it must be lunchtime?
Eos Amaterasu: close to it... just came back from brief visit to Farmer's Market
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Nice way to start the weekend Eos :)
Eos Amaterasu: and last inight I was at a Moon Viewing Tea Gathering
Eliza Madrigal: Really? What was that like?
doug Sosa: besides the tea and the moon :)
    Eliza Madrigal: heheh
Eos Amaterasu: There happen to be these two wonderful tea Senseis here in Nova Scotia
Eos Amaterasu: very traditional Japanese style, attention to every detail
doug Sosa: the whisk and the foam..
Eos Amaterasu: Yes. .. the tea house is called the abode of the equable tiger
Eliza Madrigal: The moon is enough :) The tea is enough too :) But wow, sounds so nice

    Eos Amaterasu: little poem:

    Eos Amaterasu: tonight
Eos Amaterasu: moon hides in cloudy saké
    Eos Amaterasu: green tea froth
Eos Amaterasu: abode of the equable tiger

doug Sosa: tiger.. last night our neighbor left a plastic containter near the water sprinkler and at 5 when it comes on the water aganst the plastic
doug Sosa: sounded like a tiger breathing.
doug Sosa: is sake part of the tea ceremony?
Eos Amaterasu: no... but we were offered some at the end
    Eos Amaterasu: cloudy sake
doug Sosa: ah reward for virtue.
Eliza Madrigal thinks... moon hiding, tiger breathing
    doug Sosa: significance of "cloudy"?
Eos Amaterasu: it was a special sake, with a milk-like cloudy content
Eos Amaterasu: through which you could discern the moon floating :-)
    doug Sosa: the disolving moon!
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eos Amaterasu: the moon is in the space between yesterday and today
SophiaSharon Larnia: the moon could be found in anything then
Eos Amaterasu: in a thousand bowls of water
    doug Sosa: your eyes.
Eliza Madrigal: :) And it does not get wet
Eos Amaterasu: (it seems there's lots of water o the moon)
    Eliza Madrigal: hehehe
Eliza Madrigal: not on its reflection
Eos Amaterasu: nice symbol of Being
    SophiaSharon Larnia: <stares >:)
doug Sosa: the sun is just the brighter side of the moon.
Eliza Madrigal: Doesn't Pema Chodron live in Nova Scotia also, Eos?
Eos Amaterasu: She travels a lot, but yes - she stays witha friend when in Halifax, otherwise at the Abbey way up in Cape Breton
    Eos Amaterasu: 90 secs
Eos Amaterasu: 'tween now and then coming up
    --BELL--
SophiaSharon Larnia: hippity hoppity bippity boppity, less tea and more sake'
SophiaSharon Larnia: (thought during 90 sec) ;p
    Eliza Madrigal: haha
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
Eliza Madrigal: Seems you live in a very contemplative-life condusive environment, Eos
Eliza Madrigal: And I suspect that was intentional?
Eos Amaterasu: Well, I don't know if the greater environment here is like that, it's just a matter of sometimes spotting little special moments, or groups, or people, or cups of saké :-)
    Eliza Madrigal nods
    Eos Amaterasu: like here :-)
doug Sosa: i must slip awy. bye.
    Eliza Madrigal: Bye doug
    Eos Amaterasu: Bye Doug
    SophiaSharon Larnia: bye Doug!
Eliza Madrigal: I've been 'trying on' temples and such... trying to recreate life from the inside out...
Eliza Madrigal: fun process, but maybe Florida is too hot for contemplatives...hehehe
SophiaSharon Larnia: recreating life, i have this idea I am right where im supposed to be, but i still agree with what your saying, and dont know what this means
Eliza Madrigal: I'm kidding of course... but it seems I have to drive far to get to the places I like most
Eliza Madrigal: Yes, Sophia, that is how I feel too... it is both at once
    Eliza Madrigal: somehow :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: to understand where i am, but then understanding isnt necessary
Eos Amaterasu: I've always tried to find a place where I can walk, and where it feels ordinary/special
    SophiaSharon Larnia: smiles
Eos Amaterasu: I'm lucky to have such where I live now
Eliza Madrigal: getting comfortable with paradoxes is quite a yoga
SophiaSharon Larnia: its a paradox only because this me makes it so
    Eos Amaterasu: yoga - yoke
Eliza Madrigal: back to the egg :)
Eliza Madrigal: and the edge :)
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
Eliza Madrigal: but I wonder about mutliple-doxes
Eos Amaterasu: can you share a multi-dox?
SophiaSharon Larnia: i like the area around my house too Eos,
Eliza Madrigal: we stretch enough to hold seeming contradictory states at once... then it seems to expand into everything else in a way...
Eliza Madrigal: so that it isnt para but Hm.. well, a new thought </stares>

Funnily enough, this idea of multiple paradoxes (though in that context it was interlocking-paradoxes), was addressed for me at the meeting I'd attend next. Those things can be lovenotes of assurance that say, like the lotus in the cartoon SophiaSharon is about to mention, that you are indeed in a good 'place'.

Eliza Madrigal: I live in a nice area, but frankly very tamed and too 'preplanned'
Eliza Madrigal: it is restrictive...not nearly wild enough :)
Eliza Madrigal: and driving is necessary almost everywhere
Eos Amaterasu: We need some wildness, that's not "under our thumb", but also not crazy because we've driven it crazy
    Eliza Madrigal: yes indeed
Eos Amaterasu: SophiaSharon, say more about where you live....
SophiaSharon Larnia: i live 45 from philadelphia, in a woodsy pocket known as chadds ford
Eliza Madrigal: woodsy... MM, like Eos too
Eos Amaterasu thinks of woodsy pocket
Eos Amaterasu: the local woodsy area is sometimes called "the dingle"
SophiaSharon Larnia: there are valleys here (ridges really) and the area around my house has parks, to get to them, i have to walk through some neglected woods lol
Eliza Madrigal: a little wildness :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: lol nice
    Eos Amaterasu: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sir_San...d_Fleming_Park
SophiaSharon Larnia: yes, i searched for a year to find a house close to the city but still in a rural looking area
    Eliza Madrigal: that's gorgeous Eos
SophiaSharon Larnia: almost *impossible* in my price range
Eliza Madrigal: It might be a blessing, Sophia...
    SophiaSharon Larnia: it was fortutious,
    SophiaSharon Larnia: (sp)
SophiaSharon Larnia: but i forgot how buggy it was lol
    SophiaSharon Larnia: laughs
    Eliza Madrigal: hehe
    --BELL--
Eliza Madrigal will have to get going in a minute but just read Pema's email re phenomenology workshop starting up... exciting..not sure about the time for others... 8AM SLT Fridays
SophiaSharon Larnia: wow now thats a park !! :-)
Eliza Madrigal: yes, quite, Sophia. hah
SophiaSharon Larnia: ooh I may be able to make this one, I didnt want to butt in mid-workshop, for the other

    Haha...like I did... :)

Eliza Madrigal: This is starting 'anew' entirely it seems
Eliza Madrigal: Okay...time to see if I can get a seat....
Eos Amaterasu: Reminds me to work on scribing
Eliza Madrigal: Have a great day :)
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, yes. thanks you Eos! :D
    Eos Amaterasu: Bye Eliza!
SophiaSharon Larnia: i love saturday morning cartoons, am looking at one, where there is a lotus in the pond ;p
Eliza Madrigal: those little lovenotes :)
Eos Amaterasu: Wonder if we could put reflection of moon in pond?
SophiaSharon Larnia: I have to go too :)
    Eliza Madrigal: hehe..good idea Eos!
    Eos Amaterasu: Bye Sophia Sharon!
SophiaSharon Larnia: it is there already, just have to see it :)
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: see you later
