Craving human interaction
Archmage Atlantis: Hi, Eden
Eden Haiku: Nice to see you Archmage. I just wished you Happy New Year in a wrong window :-)
Eden Haiku: Good morning Eliza!
Archmage Atlantis: Oh, wws, wrong window syndrome, I have that too
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Eden and Arch :) Morning !
Eden Haiku: Wrong window syndrome :-) Nice!
Archmage Atlantis: Morning Eliza, interesting hat :)
Eliza Madrigal: Thank you :) These are my circus clothes... hehe
Eden Haiku: yes, indeed.
Eden Haiku: Feeling in a circus mood this morning Eliza?
Archmage Atlantis: I'm curious, but afraid to ask, circus?
Eliza Madrigal: Not exactly... a friend of mine likes to instigate challenges...
Archmage Atlantis: (Not that afraid, obviously :) )
Eliza Madrigal: hah
Eden Haiku: Maybe you are juggling many balls at the same time?
Eden Haiku: :-)
Eliza Madrigal can actually juggle a little
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eden Haiku: You can! Wow!
Eliza Madrigal: just a little... mostly I was the girl walking in between the fire jugglers...
Eliza Madrigal: the "Vanna" turning the letters.. sigh
Eden Haiku: This morning, walking in a field of snow by the river, the Radetsky March that Qt asked for at the party started playing on my iPod.
Eden Haiku: And I marched like a pom pom girl!
Eliza Madrigal: Ahhhh!!!
Archmage Atlantis: The more you tell, Eliza, the more mystery and hidden information there seems to come to mind :)
Eliza Madrigal: ;-)
Eden Haiku: I also listened to "Girl with a short skirt" by Cake. Quite a funny song!
Eliza Madrigal: Isn't it! And that base line will stay with you...
Eden Haiku: How was is the New Year start for you Archmage?
Archmage Atlantis: Absolutely terrible, until this morning *grin*
Eliza Madrigal: terrible?
Eden Haiku: Would anyone have a topic to suggest for the next 90 seconds pause? Hello Geoff, pleased to see you!
Archmage Atlantis: Too much alone time, the head loses it's balance
Geoff Baily: hi happy new year all
Eden Haiku: Terrible Arch?
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Geoff!
Eliza Madrigal: Welcome back :)
Archmage Atlantis: Hi< Geoff
Geoff Baily: thanks you look interesting
Geoff Baily: Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Geoff Baily: hi Arch
Geoff Baily: very pretty Eden
Geoff Baily: ;)
Eliza Madrigal: Eden is like a friendly snow queen
Eden Haiku: Thank you Geoff.
Geoff Baily: but warm
Eliza Madrigal: yes exactly
Eden Haiku: Archmage did you take a resolution for the New Year?
Eliza Madrigal: I can't stay long. My son is changing schools and I'm waiting for paperwork to be ready
Eden Haiku: Will you walk him there this morning?
Archmage Atlantis: No, I gave up resolutions ages ago
--BELL--
Eliza Madrigal: We got out for a bit, but the office sent us back for loose ends :)
Archmage Atlantis: What level/grade is your son in, Eliza
Eden Haiku: Anyone would like to share their experience of the 90 secs?
Geoff Baily: noticed the flower
Archmage Atlantis: Hmm, forgot to do it
Eliza Madrigal: So your experience was forgetting, Arch ;-)
Eden Haiku: Not sure of my grammar here…anyone would like to share his/her experience or 'their'?
Eliza Madrigal: SL has its own grammar... hehe
Archmage Atlantis: Yes, I think I am still craving human interaction, so mostly was thinking about children starting school
Eden Haiku: Geoff comment on dit cette phrase correctement en anglais ?
Eliza Madrigal: My experience is that I feel excitable today... not quite settled...
Eliza Madrigal: so I just noticed that :)
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, Arch, did you enjoy school as a child?
Eden Haiku: Craving human interaction is a very basic need yes.
Geoff Baily: to share their experiences???? but it was ok first time from you Eden
Geoff Baily: their*
Archmage Atlantis: No, it was too dull, and the other children liked things that I didn't........
Eden Haiku: Oh good then. Usually I don't care about mistakes, maybe it is this talk about school :-)...
Eliza Madrigal grins
Archmage Atlantis: I wish that every child could have their own personal learning program, instead of being in a "box"
Eden Haiku: You found school dull Archmage. Me too at times. I remember staring at the clock, wishing it to be 4h00!
Eden Haiku: What did you like when you were a child Arch?
Eliza Madrigal: alternative ed is a favorite subject, but I've been glad my girls have worked well within the system.. albeit with a little rebelliousness here and there :)
Archmage Atlantis: I used to read the encyclopedia at home for entertainment
Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eden Haiku: Is your son in an alternative school now?
Eliza Madrigal: he's leaving one now actually...
Eliza Madrigal: returning to the mainstream where he might relax a little I hope :)
Eden Haiku: Wow! And the other children were not interested in that I guess?
Eliza Madrigal: Oh no... we did all kinds of things over the years, but they adapted things to suit them mostly
Eden Haiku: I was always fascinated by the Steiner schools. What I know of it. Which is very little.
Eliza Madrigal: for instance my oldest would come home and adapt her papers... write them the way they were asked for, but then play with them at home...
Eden Haiku: I once met a little girl who knew a lot about leprechauns :-)
Eliza Madrigal smiles
Eliza Madrigal: my younger daughter memorized bird books when very tiny... field guides...
Eliza Madrigal: but the everyone was so impressed that all the gifts they gave her were bird related...
Eliza Madrigal: which took a bit away from her joy :) Still... it formed the 'way' she tends to learn
Eden Haiku: Was looking at birds through the window this morning. Cannot say what kind they were. Wished I had learned that. Lucky daughter of yours!
Eden Haiku: I think Archmage is also an observer of nature, aren't you?
Eliza Madrigal: people are funny... you can't always determine the how... that interest came about from one of those silly bird clocks. Still, we try to give kids workbooks to enjoy... dittos... sigh
Geoff Baily: hi Zen
Archmage Atlantis: That is a very impressive way to put it, Eden, .....I garden, have pets and watch the plants and wildlife
Eliza Madrigal: Hi Zen :)
Zen Arado: Hi All
Zen offers the link to a great note taking program for our lists
--BELL--
Eden Haiku: Hello Zen!

Eden Haiku: Bye Eliza! have a nice day!
Archmage Atlantis: Also make lists, which I am always misplacing *grin* - I even have one from todays meeting here
Archmage Atlantis: Bye Eliza
Archmage Atlantis: Things worth researching
Eden Haiku: I love lists also! So much! Made 3 new ones this morning!
Archmage Atlantis: Steiner schools "Girl with a short skirt" by Cake the Radetsky March
Zen Arado: I found a great note taking program
Eden Haiku: Yes Zen?
Archmage Atlantis: That sounds useful Zen
Zen Arado: Evernote
Eden Haiku: Were you taking a holiday Geoff?
Zen Arado: it is free and synchronizes across different gadgets
Archmage Atlantis: Added to my list :)
Geoff Baily: Yes with the children and grandchildren
Zen Arado: and you can put your lists on it !
Eden Haiku: I have one on Ipod. It is an app called...let me check...
Geoff Baily: how does it work Zen?
Eden Haiku: Oh was it nice Geoff?
Zen Arado: yes this goes in my I pod too
Geoff Baily: very good, also to see old friends again
Zen Arado: it is a website you download the program from to your computer
Eden Haiku: Maybe Apple will pay us good money to advertise their Ipod…:-)
Zen Arado: but it also synchronizes and store your notes on their site
Zen Arado: so you can access them from different devices
Zen Arado: yes Eden :)
Eden Haiku: oh that sounds better this app you have.
Archmage Atlantis: That definitely is worth a look, Zen
Zen Arado: free app for IPod too
Eden Haiku: Mine is called 'Awesome note'.
Zen Arado: prob does same thing Eden
Archmage Atlantis: Will it work on a Blackberry?
Zen Arado: not sure think so Arch
Eden Haiku: Mine not connected to a web site though,
Archmage Atlantis: Thanks
Zen Arado: http://www.evernote.com/
Geoff Baily: thanks Zen
Eden Haiku: Thank you Zen.
Zen Arado: yes it does - just looked at site
Archmage Atlantis: Great!
Zen Arado: I have used for a while now
Always appreciating the links Zen has to offer, I remembered one of his suggestions I had not checked yet
Eden Haiku: Got a twitter from you talking about geese, what was it Zen?
Zen Arado: somebody told me about it on Facebook
Eden Haiku: Could not check the reference at the time.
Zen Arado: ha ha you reminded me of Mary Oliver poem
Zen Arado: 'Wild Geese'
Archmage Atlantis: You know one of the best notetaking programs I ever had was DOS based, but it went the way of the dodo bird when Windows came into being
Eden Haiku: It was a comment on Steve's metaphor about PaB sessions looking like flock of birds in formation?
Zen Arado: can I post it?
Eden Haiku: it went the way of the dodo bird would be an extraordinary verse for an SL poem? Could I use it Archmage?
Archmage Atlantis: pls do
Eden Haiku: ty!
As I saw the Mary Oliver's poem scrolling down in local chat, I found it so beautiful I had this impulse to open the vocal chat and to read the rest of it aloud, discovering it as I read
Zen Arado: 'You do not have to be good. You do not have to walk on your knees for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting. You only have to let the soft animal of your body love what it loves. Tell me about despair, yours, and I will tell you mine. Meanwhile the world goes on. Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain are moving across the landscapes, over the prairies and the deep trees, the mountains and the rivers. Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air, are heading home again. Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting-- over and over announcing your place in the family of things.' © Mary Oliver. Geoff Baily: how lovely!
Archmage Atlantis: Quite well said
Zen Arado: beautiful reading Eden!
--BELL--
Eden Haiku: Such a beautiful poem. Thank you so much Zen!
Zen Arado: love your French accent Eden
Eden Haiku: Is Mary Oliver from UK?
Archmage Atlantis: Exquisite
Zen Arado: no she is American
Eden Haiku: blushing
Zen Arado: very famous
Wild geese heading home again
Archmage Atlantis: Time to go, take care all :)
Zen Arado: bye Arch
Geoff Baily: bye Arch
Eden Haiku: Take care Arch.
Zen Arado: I didn't think French Canadians would have a French accent
Zen Arado: since you speak English so much too ?
Eden Haiku: I will read her, thanks for the reference.
Eden Haiku: No, I very rarely speak English in fact.
Zen Arado: I see
Zen Arado: I am learnung about cultures
Eden Haiku: Most people here speak only French, about 80%.
Zen Arado: that surprises me
Zen Arado: but it is my ignorance I guess
Eden Haiku: Many of us are somewhat bilinguals, more or less. I do read a lot in English. No, it is not well known. Not your ignorance Zen.
Zen Arado: I have a Zen teacher who uses poetry a lot in his Dharma talks
Zen Arado: maybe we can have poetry readings here in Pab !
Eden Haiku: Yes, poetry goes directly to the essence of things.
Zen Arado: yes direct experience
Zen Arado: things that are inexpressible really
Eden Haiku: Yes, I talked about that with Storm. I would organize a poetry readings with some of my fellow-poets SL friends. Lots of French accents!
Zen Arado: yes great idea
Geoff Baily: that would be great
Eden Haiku: Ulrich and Frederique are French-Canadians also. Very good poets. We write in English for SL...international language...
Zen Arado: and maybe discussion about the poems , or would that be too analytical?
Eden Haiku: We are contented with a lot of clapping!!!
Zen Arado: ok :)
Geoff Baily: ;)
Zen Arado: do they come to Pab?
Eden Haiku: We could have a party afterwise, dancing. Did you come to the party Zen? for a short while I think?
Zen Arado: yes
Geoff Baily: it was good?
Eden Haiku: No, they do not. But Ulrich visited me in the Village. Told him about PaB. His poetry is very very good.
Zen Arado: I get bored with dancing in SL after a while
Zen Arado: but an hour or two is ok
Eden Haiku: The key is to IM someone as you dance!
Eden Haiku: An hour or two!!!
Zen Arado: ah never thought of that !
Zen Arado: I have a musicstream at my property but most woudn't like my taste in music
Eden Haiku: We need sophisticated dance balls. At Bombay Social Club they have this dance machine that can make you dance crazy dances, on your hands, dropping to the floor and there are about like 30 dances on the same dance ball!
Eden Haiku: Did you know about the party Geoff? Too busy in RL partying?
Zen Arado: yes they can be quite sophisticated
Eden Haiku: What is your taste in music Zen?
Geoff Baily: Away still, but I thought of you all Eden
Zen Arado: guitar music
Zen Arado: rock bands
Eden Haiku: There will be other partys Geoff!
--BELL--
Eden Haiku: Let me see if I still have the PaB party crew tag....
Geoff Baily: yes hope so!
Zen Arado: I think you need someone authorized to change things about the land to set up a stream
Eden Haiku: No it's gone, I did not wear it at the party because I did not understand I could wear it as a tag. But anyway, there will be others, I'm sure.
Eden Haiku: So guitar music and rock bands hey?
Geoff Baily: ;)
Zen Arado: you have to enter the address in About Land/media/music Url
Zen Arado: but I like all sorts
Zen Arado: used to play classical guitar
Geoff Baily: lovely to listen to classical guitar
Zen Arado: yes - I love the repertoire
Zen Arado: from Spanish to Bach
Eden Haiku: Yes for the stream, it did not work the other day. But oh I remember now Zen, you are the one who told me about using voice chat to have music played it worked! I was ordering tunes on iTunes (asking for people's special requests) and then playing the songs on my computer and it worked!
Geoff Baily: played to a small group of friends
Zen Arado: yes - but a stream would be better I think Eden
Zen Arado: I had to give it up because my hands got too weak
Zen Arado: takes a lot of strength in hands
Geoff Baily: what a shame for you Zen, so sorry to hear that
Eden Haiku: Yes, sure. I do not know why it did not work. I had the settings that were given to us. I will try again. Sorry phone call. brb
Zen Arado: nah - plenty of other things to do
Geoff Baily: true, good to be positive
Zen Arado: it takes a lot of self discipline to keep practicing too
Geoff Baily: not a bad thing self discipline
Zen Arado: though I would like to have a Fender guitar and a big amplifier and just enjoy myself
Zen Arado: neighbours wouldn't be too pleased though!
Geoff Baily: of course, I never had the talent to play an instrument
Geoff Baily: though I like music
Zen Arado: anyway RL is calling
Zen Arado: have to go Bye
Geoff Baily: bye Zen
Eden Haiku: bye zen.
Eden Haiku: Geoff I'm back
Geoff Baily: hi Eden
Geoff Baily: Geoff here
--BELL--
Eden Haiku: Sorry, the phone call lasted longer than I thought. I'm good at multitasking but not that good...Just saw you guys were talking about guitar playing...
Geoff Baily: yes, I must go soon though
Eden Haiku: Did you try the skating rink yet Geoff?
Geoff Baily: not yet
Eden Haiku: Let me show you...
