The guardian for this session was Eliza, and the comments are hers. :)

Geoff, Gaya, and Yakuzza joined me today. We talked about honoring the past without hanging on to it, in various ways.

Geoff is exploring the idea of a 'PaB History' project...

    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Geoff :)
    Geoff Baily: hi Eliza!!
    Eliza Madrigal: All well?
Geoff Baily: yes, fine, and you?
Eliza Madrigal: Just fine thanks :)
Geoff Baily: you are often here this week ;)
Eliza Madrigal: Well, I switched with Riddle yesterday, and my normal days are Wed and Friday...
    Geoff Baily: ah, I see
Eliza Madrigal: Generally, this timeslot falls at a perfect 'transitional point' in my day
    Geoff Baily: liked yesterday's meeting
Eliza Madrigal: Yes, a wonderful session, agree :)
Geoff Baily: its convenient for me too just now ;)
Eliza Madrigal: Did you see the log? I had to comment at your often throwing in lines I don't see during the session itself...
    Geoff Baily: haha
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
Geoff Baily: wry sense of humo(u)r
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eliza Madrigal: Have you been exploring the 9 sec practice?
Geoff Baily: fascinating to me what Storm said at the end
Eliza Madrigal: MM, the deliciousness of the present moment?
Geoff Baily: in a sense yes I have
Geoff Baily: yes, has he ever used that word before?
    Geoff Baily: 'delicious'?
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, I couldn't say...
Geoff Baily: and you used it for the title too
    Geoff Baily: well, I ma
Eliza Madrigal: but yes sometimes when we are thinking about something a lot, perhaps we get little confirmations, or something seems more obvious to us.. like a word following us around, etc
Geoff Baily: mentioned that I had been looking at the old logs
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
Geoff Baily: and making a record of them
Geoff Baily: but it was not picked up for talking about
    Geoff Baily: then
Geoff Baily: do you remember that?
    Eliza Madrigal: mhm
Geoff Baily: well I am playing at putting the log on Delicious
Geoff Baily: have sent a mail to Pema to see what he thinks
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, I think I've been turned around... thinking that you were sharing some of your delicious links on the wiki ...
Geoff Baily: but that idea was in my head yesterday but unsaid
    Eliza Madrigal: Ah :)
Geoff Baily: did Storm pick that up?????
Geoff Baily: and express it after I left?
    Geoff Baily: interesting to know
Eliza Madrigal: hm... well we were riffing on the present moment.. and dwelling, lingering, staying... in a way....
    Eliza Madrigal: tasting it...
    Geoff Baily: Storm's view
Eliza Madrigal: but sure its fun to notice overlaps and patterns
Eliza Madrigal: Its a bit of a hobby for me too, actually :)
Geoff Baily: he will tell us perhaps
Eliza Madrigal: Yes, I can't speak for Storm :)
Geoff Baily: things like this were shared in the first April
    -Bell

Geoff Baily: fewer people and more expression, less censoring than now
Geoff Baily: Storm perhaps can add his thoughts
Eliza Madrigal: Sure! he has a session tomorrow...
Geoff Baily: he is very open
Eliza Madrigal: you may want to come and ask him the things you're curious about
    Geoff Baily: what time toorrow?
    Eliza Madrigal: 7AMSLT
    Eliza Madrigal: this time :)
Eliza Madrigal: but not here now...
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Geoff Baily: fine I should make it tomorrow
    Eliza Madrigal: :)

When I arrived for this session I remembered very little of the dreams/thoughts from the night before. As I sat with Geoff however, the workings began to bubble up...

Eliza Madrigal: Might I change the subject a little?
Geoff Baily: could im him i suppose
Geoff Baily: of course you can
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, thank you. Last night in sleep I found myself thinking...
    Geoff Baily: listening
Eliza Madrigal: I was thinking about the way we read stories, and view time...
Eliza Madrigal: and that though we feel we are experiencing things in a linear way (moments, etc)
    Geoff Baily: ;)
    Geoff Baily: yes?
Eliza Madrigal: when we are most 'satisfied', perhaps, it is that we get a glimpse from outside of that in a more 'mosaic' manner....
Geoff Baily: go on do Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: A story with overlaps and textures all interwoven... patterns within patterns....
Eliza Madrigal: that we couldn't have seen coming...
    Geoff Baily: ;)
Eliza Madrigal: surprises. Perfect in a kind of totality... yet still 'fleeting' perhaps
    Geoff Baily: yes
Eliza Madrigal: so it is a different 'way' of tasting our moments perhaps

    Gaya arrives... Endings as Beginnings...

At the time I couldn't quite articulate it... but endings as beginnings would indeed seem to be timeless Being Seeing... as one sees in a more expansive way but then there is a seeing back which could be the forming of the mosaic too...

    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Gaya!
Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Eliza and Geoff :) Sorry I'm late.
Eliza Madrigal: Not at all, nice to see you Gaya
    Gaya Ethaniel: :)
    Geoff Baily: Hi Gaya!!
    Geoff Baily: Talking about time
    Gaya Ethaniel listens.
Eliza Madrigal: yes... perhaps a spill over from the time workshop and a conversation yesterday
Geoff Baily: there is 'time' and 'no-time'
Eliza Madrigal: in which Storm mentioned 'the delicious present moment'
    Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Geoff Baily: i feel our minds stitch our own history
Geoff Baily: Everett hada many worlds model
Geoff Baily: everything is alys happening all the time
    Geoff Baily: *always
Geoff Baily: its our minds that thread the way through to make our individual histories
Gaya Ethaniel nods. Starting and ending becomes blur ... no difference.
    Eliza Madrigal nods
Geoff Baily: a stitch in time
    Geoff Baily: !!
    Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Eliza Madrigal: One thing we touched on in the time workshop was a sense of layers and kinds of appreciation... like in You Seeing Being Seeing...
    Geoff Baily: same idea
Eliza Madrigal: so appreciation in linear time is 'you seeing' perhaps
Eliza Madrigal: " this appearance in relation to me " in a way
Gaya Ethaniel: I think YS is BS ... can't see differences anymore.
Geoff Baily: i've ordered the book that discussion is based on
Gaya Ethaniel: Like ending is starting ...
    Eliza Madrigal: Ah, great Geoff
Eliza Madrigal: So Gaya that is like what Bolonath mentioned in the theme session...
Geoff Baily: to read! forgptton the name!!
Eliza Madrigal: and I asked him if that ws because he 'stays' in a place of 'non-locality'... generally...
Geoff Baily: dropped a stitch! heh?

    The Eyes of the Universe...

Gaya Ethaniel: Yes ... we are the 'eyes' of universe itself maybe :)
Eliza Madrigal: Geoff, its Time Space Knowledge, Tarthang Tulku :)
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
    Geoff Baily: yes thanks
    -Bell

Eliza Madrigal: So then we think we're seeing Being Seeing... in that larger 'indra's net/tapestery/mosaic" kind of way... but we're still seeing it that way, right... so not quite Being Seeing really? Or?
Gaya Ethaniel: So ... one may stretch this and think that our existence is BS ... :)
Geoff Baily: love Indra's net, so apt
Geoff Baily: such a good analogy
    Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Eliza Madrigal: 'eyes of the universe' makes me think that...
Geoff Baily: yes we have a place in Being
Eliza Madrigal: "The eye with which I see God is the same with which God sees me. My eye and God's eye is one eye, and one sight, and one knowledge, and one love."
    Eliza Madrigal: Meister Eckhart
Geoff Baily: perhaps we are all being held by Being
    Gaya Ethaniel: :)
    Geoff Baily: :)

Gaya Ethaniel: Sharing knowledge is certainly loving :)

Eliza Madrigal smiles at the image of relaxing into the net... *really* sharing
    Geoff Baily: so true Gaya
Eliza Madrigal: (and confesses she thinks of Avatar) heheh
    Geoff Baily: and Eliza
    Gaya Ethaniel: :)
    Geoff Baily: Avatar
    Geoff Baily: !!
Eliza Madrigal: So it seems a wonderous thing that from our individual vantage points we 'can' get a scope of a more total or non-local view
Eliza Madrigal: through (sharing with) one another, as it were, the space between
Geoff Baily: do we not have one vantage point in Being?
    Eliza Madrigal: many in one
Geoff Baily: if we are being Being?
    Geoff Baily: here now
    Geoff Baily: together
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi yakuzza :)
    Gaya Ethaniel: Hello Yakuzza :)
Eliza Madrigal: So but in our conversation I still feel we are not to 'timeless time'
    Geoff Baily: Hi Yakuzza
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey everyone
    Geoff Baily: tick tock
    Eliza Madrigal laughs
Geoff Baily: going back to the first April
Geoff Baily: ther was a Buddhst monk there ( i forget his name)

    Eliza Madrigal: Isen?

Geoff Baily: who was sewing his own robes
Geoff Baily: they had to be perfect
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes, that is Isen.
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Geoff Baily: yes, think so
Eliza Madrigal: Isen is giving a little talk tonight at Zen Retreat... 6PM SLT
    Geoff Baily: inspiring and beautiful
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, I don't think I've read that Geoff... will look for it
Eliza Madrigal: Isen has a lovely way of making lofty things simple
    Gaya Ethaniel nods :)
Geoff Baily: he had to send photos of what he had done
Geoff Baily: for approval by email
    Geoff Baily: lovely
Eliza Madrigal: Recently in a session Isen described cause and effect in terms of 'the farmer takes the cheese"
    Eliza Madrigal: haha
    Geoff Baily: ah
    Eliza Madrigal: I loved that...
Eliza Madrigal: made me giggle aloud at my desk
Gaya Ethaniel: Farmer takes the cheese?
Eliza Madrigal: Gaya have you heard the little children's poem?
Eliza Madrigal: Or well.. song. It was a regular game at most preschools in America when I was a child...

    -Bell

Eliza Madrigal: Okay... here is a link "The Farmer in the Dell"
    Eliza Madrigal: http://kididdles.net/lyrics/f001.html
    Gaya Ethaniel reads ...
Eliza Madrigal: He was being light, but I thought very clever too
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Geoff Baily: hahah
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Gaya Ethaniel: ah ... I see ... cause and effect :)
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
Eliza Madrigal: Isen is away a lot, but yes I always enjoy when he's around...
Eliza Madrigal: not to have side-tracked us :)
Geoff Baily: no it was me who sidetracked
Geoff Baily: I was thinking about threads of time
Gaya Ethaniel listens ... time and Isen ... ?!
Geoff Baily: and that image popped into my mind
    Eliza Madrigal: Ah, the robes
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
    Geoff Baily: thread for sewing
    Geoff Baily: !!!!!!!
    Geoff Baily: for*
Eliza Madrigal: the threads of history are very important to honor...
Eliza Madrigal: to care for the garment...
    Gaya Ethaniel nods :)
Geoff Baily: need to hang on to the culture
    Gaya Ethaniel: Not sure about hanging on ... ^^;;;
Eliza Madrigal: hm, but hang on without hanging on
    Gaya Ethaniel: heheheh
    Eliza Madrigal: :) @ gaya
Geoff Baily: and can only do that when memories are kept alive
Gaya Ethaniel: Appreciate I guess ... aware, acknowledge, share ... open to learn more or differently, renew fresh etc.
    Eliza Madrigal: MM, yes
    Geoff Baily: haha
Eliza Madrigal: and leave doors and windows to the past and future 'open' while still reveling in and enjoying and
exploring the vast expanse of the present
    Gaya Ethaniel: :)
    Geoff Baily: yes!
Eliza Madrigal: so yup... appreciating :)
    Gaya Ethaniel: :)

I really need to stop using the phrase 'the other day.' I have no idea when that is... some time in some place as I was going along, the thought went by that....

Eliza Madrigal: I was thinking the other day that when we appreciate our own contributions we bring more energy to things...
Eliza Madrigal: not trying to be others... even those we admire and learn from
Gaya Ethaniel: As in appraising oneself? :) Better than looking for some external approval certainly ...
    Eliza Madrigal nods...
Eliza Madrigal: and also that is a way of valuing another... realizing that they fulfill a unique place
    Eliza Madrigal: expressing Being
Geoff Baily: good to be sure that others feel appreciated
Geoff Baily: not taken for granted
    Eliza Madrigal: MM, yes
Gaya Ethaniel: Yes, contributing is a way of ackowledging others.
    Geoff Baily: yes
Eliza Madrigal: So same goes with 'past' in a way... if we try to make it 'now' we're actually distorting it?
    Eliza Madrigal: contriving
Geoff Baily: there is space here for all
    Eliza Madrigal: Space is generous!
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Gaya Ethaniel: :)
Geoff Baily: the past underpins the present
    Geoff Baily: and Time!!
Geoff Baily: is generous, but finite for 'us' all
Gaya Ethaniel: Time to part ... have a good day!
Eliza Madrigal: perhaps only if we think 'us' or 'we' is our particular body/personality... which like now, has to get up and fold laundry?
Eliza Madrigal: Bye Gaya :) Thanks for coming
    Geoff Baily: bye Gaya
    Gaya Ethaniel waves.
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
    -Bell

Eliza Madrigal: I need to go also.... have put off a few things over the last few days...
Eliza Madrigal: thus the mention of laundry :)
Eliza Madrigal: <---has a very exciting life!
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye eliza :)
    Eliza Madrigal: Bye Yakuzza :)
    Geoff Baily: bye Eliza, thanks
    Eliza Madrigal: Bye Geoff :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: i am also leaving, take care geoff
    Geoff Baily: bye Yakuzza
