The Guardian for this meeting was Eliza Madrigal. The comments are by Eliza Madrigal, who could not have asked for a nicer session on her 1st SL birthday! :)

    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Arch :)
    Eliza Madrigal: (And Koya)
    Archmage Atlantis: Hi Eliza :)
    Eliza Madrigal: All well tonight?
Archmage Atlantis: Very well thank you
    Archmage Atlantis: And you?
    Eliza Madrigal: (And Freddie, Fredrica)
Eliza Madrigal: Yes, terrific thanks :)

    --BELL--

    Eliza Madrigal: :)

Eliza Madrigal: Funny. I've been sitting here quietly, yet pausing to be quiet felt different

Eliza Madrigal: Is there something on your mind tonight, Arch?
Archmage Atlantis: No, not that I have a concious awareness of.......I just felt it was time to come back to a PaB meeting........couldn't say why
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
Eliza Madrigal: Oh, and I'm seeing a typo... meant to write "pausing to me..." but wrote "pausing to be..." guess that's appropriate!
    Archmage Atlantis: :)
Archmage Atlantis: Sometimes typos mean something, sometimes they don't
    Eliza Madrigal nods...yes

    Little Big Man...

Archmage Atlantis: Are you familiar with the movie "Little Big Man" with Dustin Hoffman
Archmage Atlantis: I forget how long ago it was
Eliza Madrigal: Hm, I am familiar with the title...
Eliza Madrigal: not sure that I've seen it though
Eliza Madrigal: Ah, I see it was filmed the year I was born :)
Archmage Atlantis: There is a scene where the chief of the native american tribe that has taken in Dustin Hoffman
Eliza Madrigal: Speaking of which, today is my SL birthday....
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Eliza Madrigal listens...
    Archmage Atlantis: Happy Birthday !
Eliza Madrigal: Thank you very much!
Archmage Atlantis: Anywho, the chief consults the spirits and decides it is his time to die
    Eliza Madrigal: hm, interesting
    Eliza Madrigal: go on?
Archmage Atlantis: So he and Hoffman go into the desert and build a funeral bier
Archmage Atlantis: not sure of the spell ing there
Eliza Madrigal: that's okay, I know what you mean...
Archmage Atlantis: The chief lies on the bier and waits to die
    Archmage Atlantis: Hours go by
Archmage Atlantis: Finally it starts to rain in the desert
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Archmage Atlantis: The chief opens one eye, then gets up and says

Archmage Atlantis: "Sometimes the magic works, sometimes it doesn't"

    Eliza Madrigal: AH wow
Archmage Atlantis: That scene has stuck with me many years now.
Eliza Madrigal: That sounds like a wonderful scene.. yes I can imagine
Eliza Madrigal: What does it mean to you? Or does it speak to you on an unconcious level... like coming to PaB tonight?

    --BELL--

    Coincidences and Overlaps...

Archmage Atlantis: Your initial comments about feeling different, and my decision to walk to the computer......perhaps they are some expression of the magic of existence, and perhaps....perhaps they are just coincedence
Archmage Atlantis: And perhaps there is magic there, that we don't yet see
    Archmage Atlantis: Smile
    Eliza Madrigal smiles too
Eliza Madrigal: Maybe there are always overlaps, in other words...
    Archmage Atlantis: yes
Eliza Madrigal: or maybe none? :)
Eliza Madrigal: Which would in itself be a kind of magic... perhaps...
Archmage Atlantis: In an infinite universe, all things are possible :)

Archmage Atlantis: Have you sees Avatar yet?, I have not.
Eliza Madrigal: AH, yes I have :)
Eliza Madrigal: I think you'd like it very much...
Eliza Madrigal: especially considering what you just shared :)
Archmage Atlantis: I read the storyline on Wikipedia
Eliza Madrigal: The sense of surrounding you in the world of Pandora is difficult to convey...
Archmage Atlantis: Yes, it sounded much like something I would enjoy
Archmage Atlantis: This probably sounds odd, but I live in Pandora in this world...
    Eliza Madrigal: Hm, How so?
    Eliza Madrigal: In SL?
Eliza Madrigal: It may be funny to articulate, and if so that's fine
Archmage Atlantis: Ah well, with a sense of the mystic....with a sense of living in legendary times......with pleasure that we still have storytellers in the human tribe.....that shaman still exist, tho they do no realized the archetype in themselves :)
Eliza Madrigal: Oooh, that's beautiful, yes I very much relate
Eliza Madrigal: I feel as though we live in times that allow us to access every other time, in a way
    Archmage Atlantis: Yes, I agree
Eliza Madrigal: Which is almost like no time :)
Eliza Madrigal: Or at least funny time
    Eliza Madrigal: :)

Eliza Madrigal: How do you most connect with a sense of the mystic, Arch?
Archmage Atlantis: Some of my friends remember past lives, I do not remember any past lives......Some see the future.......I do not, tho I see trends
Archmage Atlantis: I connect through the use of logic and science as the tools they were intended to be
Archmage Atlantis: To show us we can understand many things, but there will always be more things we do not yet understand
Eliza Madrigal: Yes, I don't remember past lives. I have moments when I meet someone where it is like finding a friend I've known forever... that is a bit similar I'd imagine
Eliza Madrigal nods... yes logically we have to see that we don't see ?

    --BELL--

Archmage Atlantis: Yes, that states it, although it is almost a conundrum. On it's face, difficult to comprehend.
Eliza Madrigal: Then I think... "If we can't see, why do we think we should be able to?"
Eliza Madrigal: Seems in order to make way for something... maybe letting go and letting seeing see...
Archmage Atlantis: Because it propells us forward.....to seek to know.....otherwise we stay in the same place
Eliza Madrigal: Or maybe I'm just still thinking about a phrase Pema used the other day... "Walking walks, not me" ... very inspiring
Eliza Madrigal: So bad to stay in the same place you think?
Archmage Atlantis: Yes, letting go of old thought patterns and conclusions, that is difficult but essential
Archmage Atlantis: It is a choice.....each makes one's own choice as one is designed and decides
Archmage Atlantis: And all choices are equally valid
Eliza Madrigal: that's an interesting idea in itself

Curiosity and Movies we may never see...

Eliza Madrigal: So did the chief live a good long while? Did he stop consulting those spirits? :))
Archmage Atlantis: For me to determine the validity of a choice, I would have to know the validity of the outcome
Eliza Madrigal: Or was he just willing, perhaps dying in a different way than expected...
Eliza Madrigal: Hm, which of course you can't do in a limited way (know the validity of the outcome)?
Archmage Atlantis: And generally I can't even be certain of the outcome, much less know if it is valid
    Eliza Madrigal nods
Archmage Atlantis: I don't remember the Chiefs fate.....for me it was not the important poing
    Archmage Atlantis: *point
Eliza Madrigal: yes, was just curious :)
Eliza Madrigal has finally reached a place where she knows she will never see all the films she has on her list, so will accept whichever come up along the way...
Archmage Atlantis: Another reason to continue to learn and move forward (although using forward is in fact a judgement in and of itself)
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
    Archmage Atlantis: Curiosity
Eliza Madrigal: sometimes we go backward and find ourselves forward, or visa versa
Archmage Atlantis: And good movies :)
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Archmage Atlantis: Is it a long list?
Eliza Madrigal: Roughly 270 on netflix... but some of those are tv series
    Eliza Madrigal: hah
Eliza Madrigal: And then things come new....
Eliza Madrigal: AND I'm one to watch a film several times if I like it...
Eliza Madrigal: so that throws things off if I wanted a schedule :)
Archmage Atlantis: Someday, when the time is meant to be, you will see and hear the stories (told in movies) that you are meant to know :)
    Eliza Madrigal smiles widely
Eliza Madrigal: Yes, I like that idea very much
Archmage Atlantis: I think this is a good time to excuse myself.....it has been a great pleasure Eliza
    Archmage Atlantis: Take care
Eliza Madrigal: Thanks Arch, yes a lovely session
Eliza Madrigal: Thank you and rest well
