Aphrodite Macbain: I'm having a wonderful time. I'm on holiday and am staying on Gabriola Island on the west coast of Canada

Calvino Rabeni: Well lots of things really, but one of them is that I'm signed up to host this meeting time slot every week.
Aphrodite Macbain: Oh. And now there's only me!!
Calvino Rabeni: I wonder if it was she who left the circling fishes
Calvino Rabeni: Perhaps she will be back
Aphrodite Macbain: I love those circling fishes. They were the result of a qote from a poem that was read this morning
Calvino Rabeni: Really! How did that work? I like them too
Aphrodite Macbain: I'm not sure. I entered SL and saw them , spoke briefly and then had to go as I was having breakfast

Paradise Tennant: tired ..we were all over today .. visiting a variety of hard ware stores and my mom .he is flaked out and snoring
Paradise Tennant: smiles pleased with myself .. bought the right size steel bit and managed to drill through a thick steel frame to hang a piece of stained glass ..
Paradise Tennant: I have the delusion I am handy :)

Paradise Tennant: no but I love art ..in general ..
Paradise Tennant: find it a kind of solisce :)

Aphrodite Macbain: I'm going to visit a friend now. CU both later
Paradise Tennant: yes ! .. two drill bits .. special toggle hooks .. chain the wide variety of metal bits :) all assembled now and looking lovely

Paradise Tennant: nice piece from about 1870 .. very hevery classic tulip design

Paradise Tennant: live downtown so lots of external light .. stained glass is a nice option .. is very glimmery

Calvino Rabeni: But memorable by virtue of not having to need any excuse to laugh, not at anything, but just out of yes, that dalai lama joy full being

stevenaia Michinaga: thinks about the relationship and difference between joy and humor, joy being more passive, but perhaps having the greater affect
Paradise Tennant: smile like an internal well of energy .. and buoyancy
Paradise Tennant: lifts you up
Calvino Rabeni: I think of humor as joy attached to something, and often being a kind of release as it breaks away from some tension or negative thing
Paradise Tennant: hmmm
Paradise Tennant: should always just be there
Paradise Tennant: you should be able to just be quiet for a moment and then there it is
Paradise Tennant: like sunshine
Paradise Tennant: always available
Calvino Rabeni: Humor starts with tension, usually - a joke creates that at the beginning
Paradise Tennant: nods yes ..humor is much more complex ..joy is simple
Calvino Rabeni: it is a bit of a catharsis

Calvino Rabeni: but humor needs some buoyancy to work
stevenaia Michinaga: a willing audiance (whether they know they are willing or not)
Calvino Rabeni: In its most primitive form, it is like - Whoa, I got hit on the head with a club but - hey look! I'm OK !
Calvino Rabeni: And if the humor is about survival, well most people are willing,whether they want to or not
Paradise Tennant: loves physical humor ..not that fashion any more but can be so expressive and funny

stevenaia Michinaga: but there are those that never seem to be willing or able to me moved
Paradise Tennant: and touching the awkward and funny in all of us
stevenaia Michinaga: there are the unfortunate joyless
Paradise Tennant: the dark souls
Paradise Tennant: hmm but eventually there always comes light
Calvino Rabeni: They might be either too heavy, or too light, for the joke
Paradise Tennant: maybe the next lifetime ..but always it pervails
stevenaia Michinaga: or unable to let go that what shades them
Calvino Rabeni: Yes, or maybe, what shades them is not available at the time
Paradise Tennant: dark thoughts .. are tiring .. they are wearing
Paradise Tennant: eventually letting go is the only way to not be weary
Paradise Tennant: smiles

Calvino Rabeni: hmm, are there people whose "engines" are driven by fear?
Paradise Tennant: hope is just such a nice .. outliook

Paradise Tennant: well I think I will have to trundle .. I am weary and the dog still very much needs a bath and his teeth brushed .. so I will say thank you and good night :) and deal with canine hygiene :)
