    stevenaia Michinaga: hi Eliza
Eliza Madrigal: :) Hi Stevenaia and Eos :)
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi Eliza!
    stevenaia Michinaga: gtsy
Eliza Madrigal: Nice to see you too :)
    Eliza Madrigal: thanks
Eliza Madrigal: so sleepy, but thought to pop in and listen for a little while :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: the birds
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Eos Amaterasu: Any discussion or practice themes coming to mind?
    stevenaia Michinaga: ...thinking.....
stevenaia Michinaga: all I hear is the birds tonight
Eos Amaterasu: I think I'm also playing as being sleepy
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
    Eliza Madrigal: Well....
stevenaia Michinaga: I think there should be a Nap place here
Eliza Madrigal: this evening we had a conversation in the pub about dralas, which came up in an earlier session... and just now I remembered wanting to ask Stevie about something like that... tao in rocks or in 'things' or ...
stevenaia Michinaga: a springboard to dreams
Eliza Madrigal: hmmm... trying to remember the phrasing you shared, S
stevenaia Michinaga: when we spoke of drala?
Eliza Madrigal: I'm putting two themes together :)
Eliza Madrigal: something you brought up separately in another session I read, hah... I should have taken notes
Eliza Madrigal: It was something you talked about with your RL group
    Eos Amaterasu: HI Paradise
stevenaia Michinaga: suprisingly drala only shows up in 8 sessions
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Paradise :)
    Eliza Madrigal: another gorgeous dress!
stevenaia Michinaga: my Rl Tao group?
    Eliza Madrigal: yes
    Paradise Tennant: drala :))
stevenaia Michinaga: we generally read and discuss the tao de ching
Paradise Tennant: hiya eliza thank you .. hiya steve eos :))
Eliza Madrigal: I may have to see if I find it and bring it up another time because you spoke beautifully about it...
    stevenaia Michinaga: blushes
stevenaia Michinaga: learns so much about self from others
    Eliza Madrigal: :))
    Paradise Tennant: ;)))
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Sharon :)
    Paradise Tennant: hiya Sharon :)
SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Eliza, Eos, Steveanaia and Paradise :)
stevenaia Michinaga: waves to Paradise and Sharon
    Eos Amaterasu: Hi SSL!

Eos Amaterasu: "Appreciate the presence of appearance" could be seen as drala-oriented....
Eliza Madrigal: hmm ... go on?
Eos Amaterasu: positive expression, appreciate that expression
Eos Amaterasu: with something implicit behind that, perhaps "as a presentation by being"
stevenaia Michinaga: scrambles to remember what a drala is
Eos Amaterasu: so related to idea of drala as being an expression of the phenomenal world thru which the "cosmic mirror" - that in which everything appears - is present
Eos Amaterasu: could be a few notes of Mozart :-)
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
Eos Amaterasu: or those tulips just coming out in the cold rainy Nova Scotia weather
Paradise Tennant: a being a deity tibetan deity no ?
    Eliza Madrigal: lovely... musing...
Eos Amaterasu: or the elegance of Paradise's dress
    stevenaia Michinaga: :)

    --BELL--

    Paradise Tennant: a oneness
Paradise Tennant: that is like the shine to life
Eos Amaterasu: drala is a tibetan word, but the notion of drala is not especially tibetan
Eos Amaterasu: "the shine to life"..... shining quality of phenomena, perhaps
    Eliza Madrigal: mmm
Eliza Madrigal: somehow one thinks of layers of facial expressions too... like the smile that goes 'out' and yet more dimension is seen underneath
SophiaSharon Larnia: ive likened the word as one desribed by many cultures, th eword drala meaning something specific to dharma
SophiaSharon Larnia: but a quality that many have attempted to describe and share, elemental spirits etc
    Alfred Kelberry: hi girls :)
Eos Amaterasu: drala and kami are similar....
    Alfred Kelberry: um, eos :)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: hi Boxy
    Alfred Kelberry: wuff!
    Eliza Madrigal: Hi Alfred :)
Paradise Tennant: smiles hiya barksy :))
    Eos Amaterasu: hi boxy
Alfred Kelberry: beautiful girl flowers of play as being :)
    stevenaia Michinaga: hi Boxy
Alfred Kelberry: um, have you seen gaya the bunny?
SophiaSharon Larnia: (but then I just heard the word a fewq months ago so i know nothing)
Eliza Madrigal: I saw Gaya today, but not the bunny
    Alfred Kelberry: :)
Alfred Kelberry: i always see a cute bunny in her :)
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
Alfred Kelberry: she can't hide it :)
Alfred Kelberry: not online at the moment?
Eos Amaterasu: Chögyam Trungpa on drala:

When you express gentleness and precision in your environment, then real brilliance and power can descend onto that situation. If you try to manufacture that presence out of your own ego, it will never happen. You cannot own the power and the magic of this world. It is always available, but it does not belong to anyone.

    Alfred Kelberry: ah, no
Eliza Madrigal: beautiful, Eos, thank you
    Paradise Tennant: beautiful quote :)))
Eos Amaterasu: comes thru gentleness and precision :-)
Eos Amaterasu: Very PaBy: you don't push anything
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, you can't possess what you can hold on to
Eos Amaterasu: but don't ignore either
Eliza Madrigal: resonates with Pema's 'soft focus' as well...
    Eos Amaterasu: hmm, yes
Eliza Madrigal: curious balance though... open and precise
Eos Amaterasu: the more open without overlays, the more precision
Eos Amaterasu: I think a lot of Japanese aesthetic is like that
Eos Amaterasu: like those very very carefully swept rock gardens
Eos Amaterasu: with very crazy rocks
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
    Eos Amaterasu: :-)
    SophiaSharon Larnia: (brb)
Eos Amaterasu: We tend to think of people who open us up to the magic as gods
Eos Amaterasu: like "Clapton is God"
    Eliza Madrigal: :)
Paradise Tennant: wait a minute Clapton is God :)
    Eliza Madrigal: hahaha
Eos Amaterasu: Derek Trucks is a guitar buddha
Eos Amaterasu: let's open to the magic that does not belong to anyone

    --BELL--

    Eliza Madrigal: mmmmmmmmmm
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
stevenaia Michinaga: magic never belongs to anyone or it isn't magic
    SophiaSharon Larnia: :)
    Eliza Madrigal smiles
    Paradise Tennant: smiles
    Paradise Tennant: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashe
Eos Amaterasu: I guess that's the thing about black magic, is that's it's someone attempting to control it for their purposes
    Paradise Tennant: ashe :)
Eliza Madrigal: Hmmm first time coming across that word in this context, thanks Paradise
    Paradise Tennant: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoruba_mythology
Paradise Tennant: sorry here is a better link
Eliza Madrigal: was thinking you were giving a link to arthur ashe at first
    Eliza Madrigal: :) or Ash
Eos Amaterasu: There's also Asheville, NC
Eliza Madrigal: ah interestig Eoss too.... like 'closed magic'
Paradise Tennant: From what we get, we can make a living; what we give, however, makes a life. Arthur Ashe Read more...
Eliza Madrigal loves Asheville "the Paris of the South"
    Eliza Madrigal: Lovely :D
Eos Amaterasu: wow, that's saying something!
    Eliza Madrigal: amazingly fitting!
Eos Amaterasu: the coincidence of the the Yoruba use of the term Ashé is also amazing
Paradise Tennant: kind of like words ideas just float in the ether
    SophiaSharon Larnia: yes :)
Eos Amaterasu: maybe they use us to survive and thrive
    Eos Amaterasu: memes

A helpful message arrived from Gaya
    ...........................................
    Hi stevenaia,

Just catching up with some PaB logs and saw your question. 易学, the first letter 易 is same as I in I Ching, meaning 'change'. Ching in I Ching means a book. So I think in the context you referred to, it probably means study of I Ching.

    Hope this helps.
