also to touch on SL retreats, however of course there are any number of topics in play at any given time.

Aphrodite Macbain: Well I can quickly say that I mentioned a place called Annamakerrig (sp?) which is a beautiful site in the middle of Ireland
Riddle Sideways: if you did not make a recommandation then we are all coming over to your house

Aphrodite Macbain: we would have to investigate the costs but youwould get to it from Dublin by bus or car.
Xirana (xirana.oximoxi): where I live is nice and quiet...but the problem is the transport :(
Aphrodite Macbain: So it would be more expensive for those in north america
Aphrodite Macbain: Costs are always an issue. Perhaps who ever recommends the place should also find out about rental costs

Wol Euler: it#s a retreat centre on a working farm in the middle of the countryside, so it would be for "enclosed" retreats

Wol Euler: last October we held a retreat at Hofgut Rineck. It's a meditation/retreat/spirituality centre on a working farm, quite cut off from the world (though with cellphone coverage and wifi). Good food, good rooms, comfortable accomodation, very friendly people; I found it very much worth its price. The centre is vegetarian, smoke-free and alcohol-free.
Aphrodite Macbain: ah. That's what we're looking for. Annamakkerig is too
Wol Euler: 56 beds in 22 rooms - two of which are wheelchair-accessible
3 seminar rooms, 34 to 130 sq metres; at least one of these is not wheelchair accessible
3 dining rooms for up to 150 people; as far as I know all at ground level
It's a bit hard to get to: there is a train station 6km (uphill) away from the centre, but it's on a regional branch line with one train per hour. We managed OK, but for a larger group we would probably want to arrange bus transport for the group. Once there, you are pretty well cut off unless you have a car.
Wol Euler: if I remember rightly, it cost 350 Euros per person for a week including all meals

Wol Euler: as good as any public transport is, aph
Wol Euler: in germany, that means "yes" :)

Wol Euler: the retreat room we used was on the first floor (american second, one up from ground)
Wol Euler: our rooms were on the second (american third)

Wol Euler: which is why I mentioned that

Wol Euler: it was a great place, I was very pleased. Yaku, agree/disagree?

Aphrodite Macbain: well it would be affordable to we west coasters but expensive for people in Europe or the east coast
