szavanna Resident: oh I can show you mine
szavanna Resident: its also moving around too much
    szavanna Resident: akeyo
    szavanna Resident: hehe
szavanna Resident: not a typical peaceful monk animation
Zen Arado: looks like a guy who thiinks he's great :)
    szavanna Resident: hehehe
szavanna Resident: well you are great so that is correct
    Zen Arado: hmm
szavanna Resident: am I like a girl that thinkgs she is great too?
    szavanna Resident: *thinks
Zen Arado: morelike a young man stand
    szavanna Resident: °͜°
    Zen Arado: watches
    szavanna Resident: ;o)
    szavanna Resident: typing typing
    Zen Arado: not really
    Zen Arado: more modest
    szavanna Resident: °͜°
szavanna Resident: °͜° not the typical PaB chat ;)
    szavanna Resident: °͜°
szavanna Resident: how are you doing Yaku :)
Zen Arado: I was trying to make a song and didn't notice the time
    szavanna Resident: oh really
Zen Arado: I have an acapella
szavanna Resident: do you upload them to soundcloud?
Zen Arado: trying to add backing
    szavanna Resident: wow ok
    Zen Arado: not yet
    Zen Arado: it's hard
Bruce Mowbray: 's current display-name is "Bruce".
    szavanna Resident: I think so
    szavanna Resident: welcome Bruce ;))
Zen Arado: in C minor too
    szavanna Resident: hi Qt :)
    Zen Arado: Hi Bruce :)
    szavanna Resident: oo c minor
    Zen Arado: Hi Qt :)
    Qt Core: Hi all
    szavanna Resident: hi Qt :)
Bruce Mowbray: Good day, Yaku, Zen, Sun, and Qt.
Zen Arado: found acapella on Soundcloud
szavanna Resident: can't you change it to a minor
    szavanna Resident: °͜°
szavanna Resident: nice to see you both :)
Zen Arado: it is a minor
Zen Arado: that;s how she sings it
    szavanna Resident: not c minor?
    Zen Arado: yes
szavanna Resident: we are talking about Zenji composing songs
    szavanna Resident: :)
Zen Arado: no just trying to add backing to one
    Yakuzza Lethecus: hey bruce, qt
Zen Arado: and that's hard enough :)
szavanna Resident: well thats the same
    szavanna Resident: °͜° sort of
Zen Arado: no.. that should be a lot easier
szavanna Resident: hmm I find it hard
Bruce Mowbray: Are your streaming your music, Zen?
    Bruce Mowbray: you*
    Zen Arado: just accompaniment really
szavanna Resident: where did you get the acapella?
    szavanna Resident: *from
Zen Arado: atm Bruce ? no
    Bruce Mowbray: kk.
    Zen Arado: from Soundcloud
Bruce Mowbray: There is no streaming music for this sim, right?
Zen Arado: we usually just play YouTube links here
szavanna Resident: we are learning to make remixes and mashups ...things like that, Bruce :)
    Bruce Mowbray: Cool!
Zen Arado: we don't have permission to add a stream here
szavanna Resident: hmm not easy when you have a soundfile from somewhere
    Bruce Mowbray: kk, np.
Zen Arado: would be nice if we did but we don't
szavanna Resident: adding accompaniment is hard
Zen Arado: at least I know the BPM
Zen Arado: because my DJ prog worked it out
szavanna Resident: oh clever prog :)
Zen Arado: not easy because they use drumbeats usually
Zen Arado: and solo singer not so easy
szavanna Resident: ok so lets get back to something less compose-y :)
    Zen Arado: kk
    szavanna Resident: :)
Zen Arado: I have a song
    Bruce Mowbray: :)
szavanna Resident: how are you guys?
    Bruce Mowbray listens.
    szavanna Resident: long time
Bruce Mowbray: I'm good, Sun, thanks.
szavanna Resident: Bruce please sum it up in a word
    szavanna Resident: hehe or phrase
Bruce Mowbray: "good" -- How's that?
Zen Arado: he did ...good :)
    szavanna Resident: lol nice
szavanna Resident: what about Qt, Yaku?
    szavanna Resident: checking afk-ishness ;o)
szavanna Resident: anyways - great to see you all :)
Zen Arado: we gfive a more extended check in in original face :)
    --BELL--
Qt Core: i'm good, just silent
    szavanna Resident: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: i am really fine too
Bruce Mowbray: Has the typing animation tripled its speed, or is that just my viewer?
    szavanna Resident: smiles
Zen Arado: must be my new AO
    szavanna Resident: and mine?
    Bruce Mowbray: ahhh!
szavanna Resident: I disabled it I think
Zen Arado: :)hey it lifts a leg too
Yakuzza Lethecus: hmm, zen looked pretty fast to me too before, and one leg stretched , yes
Qt Core: it seems that Zen had a little too much caffeine today
    szavanna Resident: lol yes
    Zen Arado dies laughing
    szavanna Resident: lol
Bruce Mowbray: Others' typing animations are either turned off or going normally.
    szavanna Resident: ;D
Bruce Mowbray: Are you all right, Zen?
szavanna Resident: he has too much energy
    szavanna Resident: I agree
    Zen Arado: new AO
    szavanna Resident: ;D
szavanna Resident: anyone has been to the guardian meeting ?
Zen Arado: have to set it up a bit I guess
szavanna Resident: just wondering about the topic for this week
Bruce Mowbray: I'm not able to attend guardian mtgs, unfortunately, because they are always held at exactly the same time as my typist's Quaker Meeting (in RL).
szavanna Resident: yes I find it hard to attend also
szavanna Resident: the board says :
Bruce Mowbray: "What guides people toward motivation"
Bruce Mowbray: (beat ya to it, Sun!)
    szavanna Resident: ty :)
    szavanna Resident: grr °͜°
Zen Arado: think we answered that last week
szavanna Resident: its sort of similar to the previous week's
Zen Arado: hmm no animation at all now
szavanna Resident: ok Zenji is calming
    szavanna Resident: °͜°
Qt Core: that's a good reason, Bruce, i usually just nap at those time ;-)
Bruce Mowbray: For me, it seems that what guides me toward being motivated is a conscious intention to "make my own world" in a certain way.
szavanna Resident: hmm shall we talk about this topic or shall we do the music class?
szavanna Resident: I think we should ask Zenji
Bruce Mowbray: either is fine with moi, Sun.
szavanna Resident: he is always sooo motivated :)
szavanna Resident: what makes you do all those courses, the music, paintings etc?
szavanna Resident: yes Bruce nice way to say it
Bruce Mowbray listen to hear Zen-ji's secret.
    Bruce Mowbray: listens*
    szavanna Resident: ;))
szavanna Resident listens with all her ears :)
    Bruce Mowbray hastens to fine-tune antlers . . .
szavanna Resident: oh it seems he doesn't want to reveal it
Zen Arado: I keep saying the same thing
    szavanna Resident: hm?
Zen Arado: we can choose waht to do but we can't choose what we want to do
Bruce Mowbray thinks: "That's a phenomenal typing animation, Zen!"
Qt Core: (even more caffeinated zen)
    Zen Arado: :)
    szavanna Resident: lol
Zen Arado: what we do is the result of all the previous influences and happenings in our lives
    Zen Arado: I think
szavanna Resident: hmm not easy to focus with this anim ;o)
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
szavanna Resident: giggles away in RL °͜°
Zen Arado: and our abilities and disbilities and interests
    Yakuzza Lethecus: :)
    Bruce Mowbray: (poor keyboard, alas...)
    Zen Arado: switched it off
szavanna Resident: hmmm but why is it that some people are sooooooo driven
szavanna Resident: and others are soooo not motivated
    Zen Arado: their innate tendencies
Bruce Mowbray: so, what we call 'motivation' is really a sort of momentum?
    Yakuzza Lethecus: :)
Zen Arado: hmm yes I think so
szavanna Resident: what do you mean Bruce
Zen Arado: I couldn't choose to murder someone
Bruce Mowbray: an object in motion tends to stay in motion -- that sort of thing.
    Zen Arado: (I hope)
    szavanna Resident: hmm ok
Bruce Mowbray: unless it meets conditions that would change its direction, force, etc... and so it is with himans and their intentionality?
Zen Arado: not so much momentum as a result of all the influences
Zen Arado: and they are complex
    Bruce Mowbray: humans*
    szavanna Resident listens
Bruce Mowbray ponders "results of the influences" in his typist's life.
szavanna Resident: I think Zenji is right
Zen Arado: i mean it is not all under the choice of our conscious will
Zen Arado: because that is influenced by what we want to do
Yakuzza Lethecus: but some ppl give me the impression that they really know what they are doing and how there are getting there, i am not very focussed and don´t really stand behind the things that i am doing, i don´t really think i can contribute if i don´t even stand behind the things i do
Zen Arado: and all the other experiences
Bruce Mowbray: but is our "acceptance" (thinking of Jeff Foster, now) of those influences our own choice?
    szavanna Resident: hmm
Zen Arado: but they are only there because of all tthat has prepared them to be there
Bruce Mowbray: (My '?' is a-kin to Yaku's comment,k also.)
Zen Arado: everything has already been accepted by life ..of which we are a part
    Bruce Mowbray: ahhh.
Zen Arado: it is the way we think that leads us astray
    --BELL--
Zen Arado: if we think og ourseves as a separate entity outside the flow of life then we think we can decide and control things
szavanna Resident: ah I like that
Bruce Mowbray: "Reality is already the best thing that can be manifested. When you realize this, you're home free." -- Emily Katie
Zen Arado: but it is more that all of nature acts on each of us and through us
    Zen Arado: yes
Zen Arado: it manifests and we are each a unique expression of it
Bruce Mowbray: "You can want whatever you already have."
Zen Arado: that;s how 'I' see it anyway
szavanna Resident: but for example ..why do we come to PaB?
    Zen Arado: who knows?
Bruce Mowbray: So, rather than hammer things into the shapes we want, better to alow things to emerge on their own?
    szavanna Resident: hehe
    Zen Arado: we don't know
    Bruce Mowbray: allow*
Zen Arado: but they are alllowed anyway
Zen Arado: we can't control the universe
szavanna Resident: isn't it us that decide if we come or not?
Bruce Mowbray ponders allow the larger allowing.
Zen Arado: see the ideas of control lurking there?
Zen Arado: a choice is made because of all the confluence of factors
szavanna Resident: but I can't think in terms of "the universe" does this
Bruce Mowbray: At the end of this morning's meditation at the Inner Peace Garden, I suddenly remembered a comment Yaku made yesterday -- and that's when I decided to come here....
Zen Arado: because we are xconditioned to think of a 'me' who is controlling their life
szavanna Resident: ah really Bruce :)
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, Yaku said he saw me coming in-world and leaving.
Bruce Mowbray: just at 20 mins after the hour.
Bruce Mowbray: So, I decided to come here instead.
Zen Arado: we are here because we like computers for a start
    szavanna Resident: :)
szavanna Resident: great choice ...or ... was it the universe :)
Bruce Mowbray: (but my typists stil has not done his morning walk with the dog, will get to that after this session, though).
Zen Arado: we like talking about spiritual things maybe
Bruce Mowbray: Isn't every thing a spiritual thing?
szavanna Resident: I just like to sit around where Pablings are :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: generally because ppl in a group with a contemplative attachment mind generally be more open to all kinds of ppl
Zen Arado: what difference does it make?a choice is made ..if you can call it a choice
szavanna Resident: many times I don't even know what you talk about hehe
    szavanna Resident: ;p
    Bruce Mowbray: ;-)
Zen Arado: well words get confusing
    Zen Arado: just indicators
szavanna Resident: its about the presence ...of you guys more than the words
Bruce Mowbray: I watched a video that Eliza recommended a while back: "Being in the World" ---
Bruce Mowbray: and it talked about a History of Being.
szavanna Resident: do you have the link?
Bruce Mowbray: how different epochs have different ways of being in the world.
Bruce Mowbray: My typist has the DVD...
    szavanna Resident: ah ok
Zen Arado: humans adopt a viewpoint
Bruce Mowbray: but I will find you a link for it, just a sec, please.
    szavanna Resident: ty Bruce :)
Zen Arado: 2000 years it was very different to now's viewpoint
    Zen Arado: ago
szavanna Resident: there are so many ways of being in the world hmm
szavanna Resident: thats why its fun to travel
Bruce Mowbray: This is the entire video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1wMFbo5ZgA
Zen Arado: but we can't really explain it
szavanna Resident: oh great ty Bruce :))
Zen Arado: just a big mystery
Zen Arado: humans don't like that so we rely on science and religions to provide explanations
Bruce Mowbray: Here is the DVD: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1515195/
Zen Arado: but they are pretty incomplete and disintegrate if you put too much weight on them
    szavanna Resident: ty :)
Zen Arado: if we find a guru who seems to have 'the answer' we flock to them :)
Bruce Mowbray: I think one of the points the vid makes, Zen, is that different times rely on different things to provide explanations.
    Zen Arado: oh yes
Bruce Mowbray: The Romans hammered things into being.
Zen Arado: they used to think thunder was angry gods speaking
Bruce Mowbray: The Greeks expected things to emerge.
szavanna Resident: about the film :
szavanna Resident: We quickly move beyond the Greeks and then beyond Descartes' mentalist notion ("I think therefore I am") of reality to Martin Heidegger's conception: reality and meaning exist where minds interact with the world. We see humans at work and at play: juggling, doing high-precision Japanese carpentry, flamenco, and cooking gumbo. While we watch them work and struggle to introspect and talk about their art and their craft, we also hear Hubert Dreyfus and his students reflect on Heidegger and his philosophy. Our artisans confess that they cannot explain in rational terms how they do what they do. The being is in the doing. Interviews and action intertwine to make a challenging philosophy clear to the lay viewer.
Bruce Mowbray: The creative artist is more of a phenomenologist --- building a new creation out of available influences in the environment...
Bruce Mowbray: like a jazz musician.
    Zen Arado: yes
Bruce Mowbray: Yes, an excellent quote, Sun. Thanks.
Zen Arado: no artist brings things out of a vacuum
szavanna Resident: The being is in the doing.
Zen Arado: we build on other people's work
    szavanna Resident: yes
Zen Arado: Isaac Newton said that
Bruce Mowbray: Ues, the being comes from the doing -- whether carpentry or cooking -- or playing music.
szavanna Resident: that is why I find it hard to say "this is mine"
Zen Arado: that he stood on the shoulders of giants
szavanna Resident: ( apart from my violin :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: for me everyone here got a unique meaning, from qt with astronomy and startrek to programming to sun with music, travelling, loss of parents early, zen with philosophy, teaching, contemplation and bruce with his farm, teaching of various kinds and history, i don´t know how i should express presence, i do care about everyone, i am just not good in keeping flow open
Bruce Mowbray: Thaks for mentioning Qt's astronomy input, Yaku.
Zen Arado: but that is your unique way of being Yaku
    szavanna Resident: Yaku ❤
Bruce Mowbray: (and all the others, too, of course!)
Zen Arado: why do we think some ways of being are 'wrong'?
    szavanna Resident: exactly
Zen Arado: it;s just the way we are
Bruce Mowbray: How could ANY way of being be "wrong"?
    --BELL--
Bruce Mowbray: My typist's dog is waiting patiently for his morning walk (not to mention my typist himself), so I will quietly slip away now. THANKS, everyone.
szavanna Resident: take care Bruce enjoy the walk
    Zen Arado: byee Bruce
    szavanna Resident: :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye bruce
    Qt Core: bye bruce
Qt Core: and strangely rl waited until now to call for me, strange.... bye all
szavanna Resident: I am not sure you can say Yaku that the flow is not open
    Zen Arado: byee Qt
szavanna Resident: take care Qt have a great week :)
    Yakuzza Lethecus: bye qt
szavanna Resident: when is the flow open ?
szavanna Resident: and what do you mean by flow hmm
Yakuzza Lethecus: when the conversations aren´t stuck i´d think
    szavanna Resident: ok
szavanna Resident: but that is not the same as the flow may be
szavanna Resident: we are from all over the world too
Zen Arado: means no one wants to say anything
szavanna Resident: so I don't get things very often
Yakuzza Lethecus: and some things that are extremly meaningful at times can´t be shared without touching the privacy of 3rd ppl
szavanna Resident: its more like social pressure ...that wants us to talk ...
Zen Arado: we can deal with life better if we share problems
    szavanna Resident: hmm ponders
Zen Arado: and humans are social animals
Zen Arado: we like to share experiences and views
Zen Arado: gives us pleasure and reassurance
    Zen Arado: usually
Zen Arado: but we are all different
    szavanna Resident: hmm
Zen Arado: I have a viewpint that others don't get and vice versa
szavanna Resident: one learns a lot in SL
Zen Arado: but no 'right' way
szavanna Resident: about this ...how each of us are
szavanna Resident: "being in the world"
Zen Arado: we want people to be like us and share our viewpoint but forget that that would be very boring :)
szavanna Resident: yes ...only white zulus everywhere
    szavanna Resident: °͜°
    Zen Arado: ha ha
    szavanna Resident: lol
    Yakuzza Lethecus: take care zen
    Zen Arado: I better go
szavanna Resident: great AO Zenji hehe
    Zen Arado: :)
Yakuzza Lethecus: i should also log out
Zen Arado: hey I am pretty cool :)
szavanna Resident: ty both for coming
    Zen Arado: byee
szavanna Resident: that was a great chat
    Zen Arado: hugs
    szavanna Resident: hugsss
szavanna Resident: see you both soon
