    Riddle Sideways: ;) oh yes!
Riddle Sideways: it is so nice staring at an empty shadow box ... waiting for inspiration
Riddle Sideways: the joy of a blank palette
Bleu Oleander: you must have zillions of inspiration!
    Riddle Sideways: where?
    Bleu Oleander: everywhere
    Bleu Oleander: mindfullness
Riddle Sideways: ah "Reality is like a box of chocolates"
Bleu Oleander: or a shadow box
Bleu Oleander: just fill it with chocolates
Riddle Sideways: it is just sooooo easy when you say it ㋡
Bleu Oleander: just own that yourself
Bleu Oleander: actually, fun to play with texture animations ... as you can tell, I got carried away a bit, but it was fun
    Riddle Sideways: a gallery full
    Riddle Sideways: carried away
    Bleu Oleander: :)

Bleu Oleander: bell reminded me that there's only one "L" in mindfulness :)
    Riddle Sideways: Bel
    Bleu Oleander: lol
Bleu Oleander: or I should say, LLoLL
    Mickorod Renard: he he
    Bleu Oleander: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Bleu Oleander: somehow, I thought we were going to discuss books today,
Mickorod Renard: well, we could do
Tura Brezoianu: I thought so as well
Riddle Sideways: I like when you are silly instead
Mickorod Renard: not many of us here
Bleu Oleander: well, we could talk about silly books

Mickorod Renard: ok,,what have we all in common?
    Riddle Sideways: avatars
Mickorod Renard: perhaps we need to compile a list
Bleu Oleander: have you read, "Ready Player One"?
Bleu Oleander: coming out soon in movie
    Mickorod Renard: no
Bleu Oleander: speaking of virtual worlds
    Mickorod Renard: whats it about?
    Bleu Oleander: and the future
Riddle Sideways: oh have seen the trailer
    Bleu Oleander: yes
    Mickorod Renard: that sounds good
Bleu Oleander: kinda looks like I imagined it would when I read it
    Riddle Sideways: video game championship
Mickorod Renard: have you read it then?
    Riddle Sideways: no
    Bleu Oleander: I have yes
    Bleu Oleander: a while ago

Mickorod Renard: I always worry that if read by some of us then the ..excitement is gone for them
    Bleu Oleander: that's true
Tura Brezoianu: I've just read the Wiki article about the film
Bleu Oleander: but maybe a good excuse to re-read
Mickorod Renard: but then its hard to get a recomendation from someone who hasnt read it
Riddle Sideways: Ever read Snow Crash
    Mickorod Renard: yes
Bleu Oleander: I've just started "Candide" ... having never read anything by Voltaire
Bleu Oleander: oh yes, Snow Crash was one of the first VR books I ever read
Mickorod Renard: I have read all of stephensons
    Riddle Sideways: good, Mick
    Mickorod Renard: whats candide like?
    Bleu Oleander: just starting it
Bleu Oleander: so can't report yet

Mickorod Renard: I fancy something classical
Mickorod Renard: is there lots of sex and debauchery?
Bleu Oleander: oh you need Ulysses then
    Bleu Oleander: LOL
    Mickorod Renard: he he
Bleu Oleander: I love the Odyssey ... which Joyce used to structure Ulysses
Mickorod Renard: you have brought those up before,,and I feel so inadequate having not read them
Bleu Oleander: if you like AI ... Tegmark has a new book, "Life 3.0"

Bleu Oleander: well we could read "the Odyssey"
Mickorod Renard: i dont know how folk read so mum did 5 books a week
Bleu Oleander: there's a wonderful new translation, first by a woman
    Bleu Oleander: wow
Bleu Oleander: I'm a one book a week kinda reader
Mickorod Renard: why not,,make an executive desision,,!odddessy!

Bleu Oleander: maybe we can suggest a list and vote via email?
Mickorod Renard: but then some of us may have read it and not want to again
Bleu Oleander: I doubt anyone has read the new translation as it just came out
Riddle Sideways: High School was long ago
Mickorod Renard: who has read it as far as we know,,besides you Bleu?
    Bleu Oleander: yep
Bleu Oleander: no one I know
    Mickorod Renard: sounds a goer
Mickorod Renard: so we need to make sure its the new translation we want?
    Bleu Oleander: yes
Mickorod Renard: didnt you say its quite large?
    Bleu Oleander: by Emily Wilson

Mickorod Renard: and is it suitable to be broken up into discussable segments?
Bleu Oleander: 24 chapters, plus a 90 page intro if you want to read that
Mickorod Renard: I wonder whether there is an online discussion blog on it?
Mickorod Renard: so, a chaptera week would take us half a year
Bleu Oleander: I'm not sure about this translation, but there are many on the Odyssey
Bleu Oleander: you could do a couple of chapters a week if you want
Mickorod Renard: do you think we could capture enough enthusiasm to last 6 months doing it? or should we open it up for speedier readers ?
    Riddle Sideways: only 530 pages
Mickorod Renard: ah yes, thinking that Bleu
Bleu Oleander: its poetry, so pages are not as dense as pros don't forget
Mickorod Renard: ok,,we can suggest it
Mickorod Renard: I love poetry,,and I think it accesses the mind better and deeper
Bleu Oleander: we can throw it in the mix and vote on a selection of suggestions
    Bleu Oleander: agree that Mick
Mickorod Renard: I am excited..if its a no I might still do it inbetween
    Bleu Oleander: :)

Bleu Oleander: another classic I love is Frankenstein
Mickorod Renard: but we mustnt rule out further suggestions from the rest of the group
    Bleu Oleander: of course not
Mickorod Renard: yes, I recall I did a thesis on that for my son cos he was too lazy
Bleu Oleander: I suggested that last book, so I would prefer we all have a say
Mickorod Renard: charnel something and so on

Mickorod Renard: one book I read some time ago that I found disturbing was Poes ,,something nantuckett
Mickorod Renard: The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket
Mickorod Renard: it sucked me in so deep I lived the story
Bleu Oleander: wow, that's quite a testimonial
Bleu Oleander: I love Poe, but haven't read that one
Mickorod Renard: it plays on the emotions of destitution loneliness and so forth
    Bleu Oleander: influenced Melville
    Bleu Oleander: sounds uplifting1 hehe
    Mickorod Renard: he he
Mickorod Renard: I love sea adventures,,and being on the sea
Mickorod Renard: the rougher the sea the better
Bleu Oleander: like in the Odyssey :)
    Mickorod Renard: seriously?
    Riddle Sideways: like Moby Dick
Mickorod Renard: cool, I will like that

Mickorod Renard: ok folks, I enjoyed that,,thankyou
Bleu Oleander: Athena and Poseidon make the sea pretty rough for Odysseus
Mickorod Renard: but I must socialize in rl now
Bleu Oleander: ok gotta go too
Bleu Oleander: nice to see you all
    Bleu Oleander: take care
    Mickorod Renard: yeh,,cheers
