     Corvi's scribings

I'm sure there was great stuff in this log..but I laughed when I read the following exchange.  The brilliance of some lines transcends their meaning, and these two speakers are brilliant:
kenji Pookes: I mean this quite seriously. What is the attraction of soccer? I have watched some games and find it staggeringly boring. A bunch of guys running around a field who seem almost incapable of putting the ball in the enormous net at either end.
Mickorod Renard: I think its more to do with tribal issues.
    Finally, Storm makes the dunk:
Storm Nordwind sees the difference as similar to reals and integers, football play being real and baseball play being integer
kenji Pookes: I dn't quite get that Storm.
Storm Nordwind: reals and integers... mathematical and computing terms. The complexity of integers comes from large combinations of them. The complexity of reals is intrinsic

Yolife Viper: try OM... aaaaaaaaauuuuuuuummmmmmmmmmmmm it is also a good meditation...
Stargate Tone: and that morning that I was doing that, one other friend appeared suddenly with an unusual Alt and that leaded forword to understand that why. well; my more than strong belief is this my called upstairs office
Tarmel Udimo: nods, we all need an upstairs office:)
Stargate Tone: that we are guided; meaning several people; to do things in order to help each other
Tarmel Udimo: yes we often don't even know, but its part of cause and effect,  which is why its importnat to stay true to ourselves and be as authentic as possible
Eos Amaterasu: listening is nice 'cause you can listen without listening _to_ anything
stevenaia Michinaga: yes, the spaces between the sounds are also nice to listen too
Pema quotes this at the next session
"Fortune Crystal: Often times I'll realize that I do something unusual on SL (go counter to a rule/habit that I have in RL) and then Ill try the unusual thing in RL and find nobody really even notices that I changed my action. so SL helps me find a "weakness" or whatever you call it, try it out on SL,try it out on RL and then learn from that.:
This included a really interesting conversation on dimensions, fractals and realities...but this is what grabbed me:
Fortune Crystal: I have also wondered if decorum/manners of RL apply in SL. I have had all manner of avatars coming up to me telling me what I can and can't do when I am in the middle of something. any thoughts?
    Fortune Crystal: For example
Fortune Crystal: I happened to read a notecard for a church advertising sermon and the notecard ended by saying the church welcomed everyone and didn't discriminate on the appearance of the avatar. any thoughts?
Riddle Sideways: netiquettte, common curtesy, ethics... hmmm
Riddle Sideways: but how Rl vs SL good questions
Riddle Sideways: how shocking and/or disruptive do you wish to be to any given group
    Fortune Crystal: interesting question. hmmm...
Riddle Sideways: how egoistical and commanding shall I be?
Riddle Sideways: over time there have been some come avs into PaB chats and disrupted, commanded
Riddle Sideways: many did not like that
Riddle Sideways: some learned from it
sophia Placebo: yep they are , yesterday i was thinking about responisbility
sophia Placebo: responsibility in relation to freedom as in sarter work
sophia Placebo: and brought the arabic word mas'ueyah
sophia Placebo: which means the one who would be asked
sophia Placebo: and couldnt stop comparing it to the responsibility in english which i guess have the meaning of whome who give a respond -answer-
sophia Placebo: and thought would sarter bring same philosophy if he had another form of the same term
sophia Placebo: he was french though , not sure what responsibility in french is
Adams Rubble: Hmm. I expect the meaning would be similar. "One who responds" is an interesting concept. Not usually how we think of repsonsibility in English
Adams Rubble: Which is ciommonly thought of as something we have to do
Adams Rubble: people depending on us
sophia Placebo: yep thats why words are tricky :)
    Adams Rubble nods
Adams Rubble: It is fun to explore meanings from a different direction
Adams Rubble: "One who responds" has possibilities
Gaya Ethaniel: [1:29] SophiaSharon Larnia: and also, why does the one need to be the many - I don't understand this bit SophiaSharon [catching up now]
SophiaSharon Larnia: if duality is a dream that we operate under, then why is this
SophiaSharon Larnia: i dont think i can ever answer this and i get discouraged
Gaya Ethaniel: Perhaps the point is the asking bit ...?
    SophiaSharon Larnia: perhaps
sophia Placebo: by duality you mean?
SophiaSharon Larnia: the stops actually brought this question on again, at first i hear One One One with the stops, then people here reminded me it was One Many, and I was brought to the question again
Pema Pera: Perhaps I missed an earlier part, but I am not sure what you mean about One and Many?
SophiaSharon Larnia: I’m sorry I babble.... one as in 'being', and many as in each individual egos (humans)
Pema Pera: ah, yes, I see
Pema Pera: what is interesting about Being is that it may seem at first like One
Pema Pera: but in fact, Being is beyond the distinction between One and Many
Pema Pera: like it is beyond any pair of dualities
    SophiaSharon Larnia: yes
Pema Pera: So Being is not something that is outside of our world of Many, not a single source from which everything flows forth . . . .
Pema Pera: . . . though it may at first perhaps help to think about it that way, that kind of picture can then become a trap
